U310 Energy Management Bluetooth Icon

I recently installed the Lenovo Energy Management program on my U310 to take better care of my battery. Since doing this, I now have this annoying Bluetooth icon with an "X" through it that pops up about twice a minute. This is very distracting and seems unnecessary. If anyone knows how to fix this or turn this off, that would be much appreciated.
Note: I originally had Windows 8 on this system, now I have Windows 7 Professional. I'm not even sure if this system had Bluetooth to begin with, but there is clearly one device my computer has not been able to identify and I wonder if the Bluetooth driver got lost while switching from Windows 8 to Windows 7? Any help is appreciated!

  • U430 Touch: Energy Manager kills Bluetooth

As soon as I install the Energy Manager, Bluetooth just fails to start. Bluetooth shows up in the Device Manager, but cannot be startet.
Tested with (latest) original Lenovo Drivers and Intel's Drivers.
Any Ideas? I need Bluetooth for my external Mouse.

I also installed the new version of the energy manager but it had not solved my bleutooth issue completly.
I solved the bleutooth challenge on the "Lenovo U430 touch" running Windows 8.1
    by reinstalling the "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS-adapter".
With this driver "gawy08ww"  for Windows 8.1 from the lenovo website, WARNING  this driver is said (by lenovo)
not intended for the "Lenovo U430 touch" and therefore be sure to make a system restore point before taking any further actions. Also be aware I will not provide any further assistance and that following the installation steps in this "forum post" is completly at your own risk.
    1) Make a complete system restore point ,to be assured that should something go wrong you can revert your system to a previous state.
2)Turn off Bluetooth by opening the charm bar on the right of the screen, then click "Settings"
then click "Change pc settings", and click on tab "PC and devices.
Now click on tab "Bluetooth" where you will find a "On OFF" slide. put this in the off position.
    3) Now install the driver for Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) 4.0 + HS-adapter
by clicking on  "gawy08ww.exe" and follow the steps of the installer.
    4) Reboot after installation
    Good luck!

  • Energy Management Hangs

I have a Yoga 2 Pro.  I have updated the BIOS, loaded the latest Energy Management Driver, and am on Window 8.1 update 1.  Pretty much up to date.  When I run the Energy Management program, I can cycle between the 4 modes and that works.  If I open the side panel (like to change settings), the entire program hangs and I must shut it down with Task Manager.
Basically, I like the program, but I can't change conservation mode, etc. as it hangs when going into the settings.  I have uninstalled it and reinstalled it and it still hangs.  Sometimes I think it is trying to run multiple version of the programs as I see more than one icon in the system tray.
Any thoughts how to make this work so that I can change conservation mode, etc.?

Make sure you are running the latest BIOS and Lenovo Energy Management.

  • Bug report: Energy Manager causes slow performance...

    Very slow Windows Startup..
Energy Manager's plans and the problem occured using any plan as I remember, and it wasn't an issue with the maximum processor state. I had heavy disk usage, especially access to the Page File, which is what the person in the second link I posted also described. CPU usage was low. The disk usage was seemingly not related to Energy Manager (Chrome was usually the worst), but removing Energy Manager completely resolved the problem. If you would find it helpful. I'm quite confident that even with Maximum Processor state at %100, CPU usage was low when it was slow, and that disk access was the culprit.
previously have use 1.0.0.31 or 32 not sure.
    Windows 8.1
Im using Lenovo Energy Management Driver
    1.0.0.28
    4.6.2014

I actually have the same problem.  Sorry to work on a old thread, but...
I've got my Lenovo B50-70 less than 1 month ago, and had switched it to SSD and had set everything up and is working perfectly.  However there are a bunch of lenovo programs that came pre-installed.  This computer is used mainly for work and I really don't like programs that suddenly pop-up and ask you to do stuff, as it is quite distracting, and with Lenovo Energy Manager being one of them so I removed it.  (I did do some research before I remove...)
Everything was fine, until when I try to switch on my wifi (I usually have it off, as I use LAN most of the time)...  For the B50-70 there is a airplane button on F7, which allow the user to switch wifi and bluetooth on/off.  That button was unresponsive...  After some digging it is actually related to the power energy manager being removed.  So I've downloaded the latest version from Lenovo and it was working again...
However though, whenever I start my computer it is taking so long to start...  And I tried uninstalling the power energy manager and it solved the problem...  And I am stuck with either having no wifi on/off ability or a really slow boot, which loses the whole purpose of the SSD.  After you enter your username and password it originally takes around 5~10 seconds to login, now it takes over 1 minute.
I have found this other link, which says Lenovo Power Manager having the same problem.
    https://forums.lenovo.com/t5/ThinkVantage-Technologies/Bug-report-Power-Manager-causes-slow-performa...
There is a solution, which you can change the registry to switch a function off.  I've tried it and it didn't work, which is not surprising as it's a different program..  But I am hoping that Lenovo can provide a similar solution for Lenovo Energy Manager...

  • WIN XP Pro on Lenovo G500 - Drivers - Energy Management

I bought a new G500 and asked the vendor to install WIN XP SP3 PRO - 32 bit from my existing disc.
The vendor installed it, but it is not working perfectly.
The Device Manager shows a few items - such as:
    (01.) ACPI/VPC2004 and
(02.) Network Controller (Device ID being PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0032&SUBSYS_32187AA)
    (03.) Bluetooth USB Host Controller
    as unknown items.
Regarding the  (01.) ACPI/VPC2004 the following Lenovo Support page
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/diagnose-and-fix/detail.page?DocID=HT071645
says to download and install Energy Management with proper Operating System. The said page also contains a link, but that link leads to another page:
    http://support.lenovo.com/en_US/downloads/detail.page?LegacyDocID=DRVR-MATRIX
Here, on the new page, I just can not figure out where to go or what to do.
Can anybody please guide this oldman how to install WIN XP SP 3 Pro - 32 bit on my new G500? What are the drivers required for installationof WIN XP SP 3 Pro - 32 bit and where from to download them (if possible with links to download pages), and a guide about the sequence for driver installation, i.e. which driver to install first (after installation of WIN XP) and which one at the last of the process, so that I can install the same.
    Thanks in advance

Just to add to the knowledge base: I've been installing Windows XP SP3, 32-bit edition on a Lenovo G500; my findings so far follow. I haven't tested 64-bit. To determine of your system is 32-bit or 64-bit, see: http://www.intel.com/support/wireless/wlan/sb/CS-032028.htm
    Ethernet Controller
The driver at the touslesdrivers link for the G500 Network Controller (hard-wired ethernet) posted by damon007 worked on my machine (G500 purchased Dec 2013). Here's the link again for reference:

Device manager now lists the device as:

    Intel Centrino Wireless-N 135

  • Lenovo Energy Management broken under Windows 8 - Shortcuts don't work

I've noticed that the Energy Management tool does not work properly under Windows 8 on a U300S.
Especially stuff like the keyboard shortcuts don't work:
Pressing F7 to toggle the wireless and bluetooth settings doesn't bring up the usual onscreen-menu like it does in Windows 7
The buttons to toggle the display brightness bring up the Windows 8 style brightness indicator but doesn't work.

    Anyone?

  • Bluetooth icon in task bar

My T60p crashed yesterday -- manage to recreate everything except the bluetooth icon for quickly launching bluetooth connections in the task bar.  Does anyone know how to restore it, please??

    Hello,
In Microsoft Windows Vista you can do this by opening the Control Panel, starting the Bluetooth Devices (filename: BTHPROPS.CPL) control panel applet, going to the Options tab, and selecting (checking) the Show Bluetooth icon in the notification area option.

  • B570 - Windows 8 - Blue screen crash & energy management error

I upgraded to windows 8 on the day it came out in the uk with no problems, some of my apps had to be reinstalled but nothing major.
the bluetooth app had to be uninstalled, never use it so not a major issue. the energy managment error just pops up on each start and i just click run without help. Seems to work fine, but would prefer for it not to have to ask me this.
Anyway everything looked to be okay and then i got the blue screen crash. Said something about a kernal crash. This has happened about every 2 days now since the install and is very annoying, just happens very randomly even when the laptop is really fast.
I spoke to lenovo's support team and they said new drivers will be installed automatically and it should resolve. It hasnt.
Was just wondering if there is any fix for this? any new drivers out that have to be installed, or bios settings anything?
    Please help. Thanks

  • How to enable bluetooth icon in task bar in rmbp with windows 8

The bluetooth icon dose not be showed in task bar in rmbp with windows 8.
The device of bluetooth dose not work correctly in device manager of windows 8 with the yellow exclamation mark.
The windows system event log shows BTHUSB alerts and error with code of 3 and 17. The driver is unloaded.
Some apple magic mouse's functions can work, without sliding to navigate.
The current OS is in bios enumeration mode with MBR and The logged user is in the normal account and the bootcamp is newest.
I have remembered that the bluetooth was good without above problems when the windows 8 was installed firstly and the bootcamp can not work in administrator account. After being restored NVRAM with option+command+p+r and reinstalled windows 8 enterprise 64 completely again, it shows these problems when the bootcamp works well.
Except the first windows installation, the second time is selecting EFI boot and the last time is in normal mode,  which has no difference in the bluetooth problem. In a normal or administrator account,  the same problems appear.

The bluetooth drive problems have disappeared after the following steps:
    reset intel SMC
remove the bluetooth device with yellow mark.
scan system device changes. find 3 devices without any yellow mark: (a) Apple Broadcom Built-in Bluetooth, (b) Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator, (c) Microsoft Bluetooth LE Enumerator.
find magic mouse and it works well with all functions. and the icon appears in the taskbar.
no BTHUSB error is  in system log.
I don't know the right reasons. Maybe the efi windows installation has changed rmbp efi settings.

  • Broken line across bluetooth icon

    Hello,
I have got a broken line across the bluetooth icon in the upper line of tne screen and all bluetooth device around the MacPro (8 cores mid 2010) such as mouse, pad, keyboard, are inoperative. So I am only able to restart the Mac through the ON/OFF button, and then I have no control at all of the machine, even in target mode (because action with the keybord is not possible).
The entire motherboard was recently changed, and the problem is not solved.
What is the cause of that failure ? Is it a software or a hardware problem ? What is the cure.
    Many thanks

Thank you IIIaass for your quick answer.
Yes, I tried to manage with a USB wired KB and a USB mouse. Same result : nothing. I cannot take the control of the Mac any more.
Regarding your second question : yes, it worked normally a few weeks after the MBoard replacement. And suddenly, without any special action, I've lost control. The only thing I can do is to restart through the main switch. Impossible also to launch another hard disk (there are 5 inside, including one SSD) by maintaining the alt key during a restart because the keybord is inoperative. I's possible to relaunch another HD by leaving only that HD in the Mac. Then it is recognized, and system is launched. I have 10.7.5 and 10.6.8 on those HD. The failure remains exactly the same.

  • G550 Energy Management Problem

    Hello,
I'm not sure if anyone else experienced this before.
When you set Energy Management software to "Super Energy Saver" mode, it turns off a couple of functions like sound card, bluetooth, ethernet etc. and Wireless Network Card is one of them.
The problem is when you turn it back to "Balanced" or to some other option, the particular card remains closed. You can choose not to close it from the advanced options menu, however you can only access advanced options menu when you're using "Super Energy Saver" mode (the button dissapears in other modes). So, it is a vicious circle. I've tried activating wireless manually, but it looks like it is already open (device manager etc.) everywhere.
At the very end I've tried uninstalling the program, which didn't work either; the card remained closed, and I was left without internet until I've noticed that I had the setup file of it. At the moment, I have to use "Super Energy Saver" mode, and set it to not to close Wireless Network Card.
Where do you think the program disables Wireless? How can I reopen it?
    Thank you.

first of all, you need power management. it also includes system files that you can use turn on/off some functions such as wireless.
    after re-installing, press fn + f5 and/or switch on/of the wireless.

  • Bluetooth icon thingy has moved in between clock and spotlight?

Yeah, i have no idea what category the "problem" (more cosmetic than function-related) belongs... I have somehow managed to move my bluetooth icon from the left side of the time to the right side of the time (between spotlight and clock)...
    A picture:
    http://thor.webfront.dk/files/img1172752116797.png
I've talked to a rather experienced mac using friend of mine, and he has no clue of how this could have happened... According to him, it should be impossible - but I've done it anyway...
Anyone know how to move the icon back on the left side of the clock?
    Edit:
What is that row of icons called, anyways? Process Bar, like in windows?
MBP 15.4" 2.33GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   AEBS, most likely an aTV-station in the near future

Have you tried going into the Bluetooth Preference Pane and switiching it off and back on? Failing that, trashing the com.apple.sysmtemUIserver.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder will reset all the options up there to default.
Menu Items seems like a reasonable name?
    Regards

  • Lenovo Energy Management (Idea Pad v570)

Hi, I recently used the One Key Recovery, everything went smoothly as my computer returned to the manufacturer's original software. However, I noticed that the icon for the battery management was no longer there (actually I think it was missing for a while, never noticed until I reset my computer). I reinstalled the program but to no avail, the icon never shows up.
Most likely I'll just end up figuring out how to use Windows to change the setup for battery longevity, but I preferred Lenovo's easy to use interface in it's energy management program.
Maybe somebody here might have more insight in to something I might have overlooked (novice here). My theory isI might have deleted something essential in running that program or a Windows update rendered it obsolete.
    Thanks for your time.
EDIT: Nevermind, found the icon on the bottom right corner of my computer. Strange that it wouldn't launch straight from the setup. Apologies if I wasted anybody's time.

One of Lenovo or Microsof's programmers mistake.
    Not a big deal nowdays.
