U330: "Catalyst Control Center: The Host Application Stopped Working"

I've been getting this nagging message whenever I boot windows.  Tried uninstalling and re-installing the driver and ATI software from Lenovo's site but the problem persists.  I can produce the message at anytime by running "ATI Restart Runtime".  Someone please tell me how to fix this, it's really annoying.

What was recently installed or changed on your system?  A quick option will be to use the System Restore Tool to restore the computer to an earlier point in time before this problem started. Using the System Restore tool may not necessarily help you determine the issue. When you use System Restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you installed are removed.
To restore the operating system to an earlier point in time, follow these steps:
1.      Click Start, type system restore in the Start Search box, and then click System Restore in the Programs list. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type your password or click Continue.
2.      In the System Restore dialog box, click Choose a different restore point, and then click Next.
3.      In the list of restore points, click a restore point that was created before you began to  experience the issue, and then click Next.
4.      Click Finish.
5.      The computer restarts, and the system files and settings are returned to the state that they were in at the time that the restore point was created.

  • Satellite P200D - Catalyst Control Centre host application stopped working

Hi. I have a Satellite P200D-128 and I've been getting a pop-up screen with an error message saying, "Catalyst Control Centre host application stopped working." I'm sure I haven't altered anything.
I tried downloading new drivers from http://support.amd.com/us/gpudownload/Pages/index.aspx but the download wouldn't work.
    Please could you help?
    Thanks.

    Hi
The right driver you can find here . Download it, open Display Driver ATI folder and execute setup.exe. and follow the setup menu.

  • Why has my music controls in the locked screen stopped working after upgrading to ios. 7.0.2?

I cannot pause, advance track, etc with the in-control feature on ios 7. When my phone is locked and the music is playing, (ie. iTunes, podcasts or any other audio enabled app) the play controls do not work even when I access the in-control feature.  I remember this working after I updated. Now it's not. Anyone else had this issues or know a fix?

I have the same issue. with iphone5 with iOS 7.0.2

  • [5800] The messages application stops working afte...

Ok, this has already happened twice to me:
    - I update my phone to the v20 version.
    - Everything works fine for some hours.
    - Then, all of a sudden, I can't open the 'messaging' application!!
When I hit the icon, it will "attempt" to open it (the screen will blink) but it will take me back to the menu screen, as if the application had closed itself.
The first time, I fixed it with a hard reset (RED + GREEN + Camera), which I haddn't done after the update.
But now, one day later... the problem is back
Has it happened to anyone else?
Do you have any idea of how could I fix this?
Alternatively, how can I do a 'rollback' to my previous firmware version? I hate losing all the advantages of v20, but I just can't use it if messages won't work...
     Thanks in advance

  • When apply Parent Binding on User Control, then the textbox ivalueconvoter stop working in User control

I have make a User Control  for Client. In my user control there is textbox which is showing Date Time with Custom format. For Custom format i have bind the textbox using IvalueConvertor. By applying the Ivalueconvoter the DateTime will show like "dd/MM/yyyy"
But when Client use that control and bind the control with CLR property, then my user control shows full DateTime with Time also.
It is looking that my Ivalue convertor is not working due to parent binding.
Kindly suggest the proper way of this.
    Thanks In advance.

    Hi,
You could try to use DatePicker in silverlight.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.windows.controls.datepicker(v=vs.95).aspx
If you don't want to default format of the datepicker, you could try to customize the datepicker:

  • X100e "Catalyst Control Center Monitoring Program"

Whenever I boot my ThinkPad X100e I get the following message "Catalyst Control Center Monitoring Program has stopped working"
Does anyone know how I can fix it?
I am not positive but I think this is the cause of overall slow performance (especially with video).
Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m really sorry to hear that you are getting an error stating “Catalyst Control Center Monitoring Program has stopped working” when you boot your Lenovo ThinkPad X100e.
I would suggest you to uninstall the Catalyst Control Center/drivers, download the latest version of the Catalyst Control Center/drivers for your video card from Lenovo Support page and install the same. Enter MTM number in quick path and find the driver under display and video graphics category.
    Hope this helps!
    Best regards,
    Mithun.

  • 7850 CrossFireX - Catalyst Control Center - Disable CrossFireX

Hello, I have MSI 7850 CrossFireX. I was playing Skyrim and notice micro-stutter so I went into Catalyst Control Center and disabled CrossFireX.
The problem is that Skyrim will not load. It always crashes when I start the game. I re-enabled CrossFireX and it will load fine.
I was wondering whether this is a known issue. Maybe I have to physically remove the connector to get it to work (I haven't tried that. I just wanted to see how it would do with one card). I don't know if this is a problem with Catalyst Control Center, the driver, Skyrim, Steam or what.
Any information would be helpful. Thanks.
    Edit for more information:

  • HP Pavilion dv6-6130eo, Radeon HD 6770M, switchable graphics, update Catalyst Control Center

    Computer: HP Pavilion dv6-6130eo
    I have installed windows 7 64 bit
Graphics cards: Switchable Intel and Radeon HD 6770M
So far, I have been using the graphics driver provided by HP including Catalyst Control Center, and it has been working fine.
I recently bought a new game: Wolfenstein:New order. I fulfill minimum requirements.
When trying to run the game, I am informed, that my Catalyst Control Center must be 14.4 or newer: Fatal error, and game cannot run.
How can I update my Catalyst Control Center to 14.4 or newer? Both graphics cards (switchable) should be working.
Thanks a lot in advance - This issue is really getting on my nerves!

I understand that your notebooks works fine except when you try to play your new Wolfenstein New Order game, at which time it informs you that your Catalyst Control Center is out of date and must be 14.4 or higher.  You stated  installed Windows 7 64 bit.
Have you done all your Windows updates?
Have you ran The HP Support Assistant to aid with updating drivers and resolving issues.
Here is a link to the latest recommended  HP driver AMD High-Definition Graphics Driver sp55092.exe for you system.

  • Right-click on Magic Mouse and Volume Controls on Wireless keyboard suddenly stopped working

I am running Mavericks 10.9.2 on an Late 2012 iMac.
One morning the right click on my Magic Mouse and the volume controls on the wireless keyboard stopped working.
These mouse and keyboard themselves seem fine; they work okay ehn used on a MacBook.
Everything else about the mouse and keyboard is fine.
This seems to be a problem what has been around for a whole, with a wide variety of solutions.
    I have read
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/16799039#16799039
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/23474052#23474052
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/19660884#19660884
    and have tried
Clicking on and off the 'right click' checkbox in the Mouse System Preferences - No effect
    Deleting /Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist - No effect
Restarting in Safe Mode - When starting in safe mode, the computer crashes out and restarted
Resetting NVRAM / PRAM - Is it CTRL+CMD+P+R or CMD+OPT+P+R ?  Neither work for me (I do try it using a wired keyboard, but never get the double chime)
Upgraded to 10.9.2 - no effect
Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext and and back in (and re-authenticate) - No joy
Moved the /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHIDMouse.kext and AppleHIDKeyboard.kext from a working MacBook on same OS - Made the keyboard misbehave even more
Has anyone got any other cures for this?
    Thanks in advance.

Here is what worked for me.  My scrolling on the mighty mouse and a few buttons on my wireless keyboard weren't working properly.  I reset the SMC, a link explaining the process is below.  Hope it helps you too!

  • After updating to iOS 5, the Photo album stopped working.

After updating to iOS v5, my iphone 4S's built-in Photo app stopped working.
The Camera takes a photo, but the photo disappears from the camera roll and shows no photos in the photoalbum.
My iPhone used to take photos so, I don't believe it is a hardware issue.
Is anyone having the same problem?
Would there be a update of the v5 to solve this issue?

    I figured it out.
In my case, I just needed to restore my phone to the factory setting.
My iphone = iphone 4 running iOS v5
    My computer = iMac
Software didn't work = preinstalled "Photos" app
Symptoms = after I take a photo, the image thumbnail of the camera roll shows the image, but images are found neither in the camera roll nor in the albums of the "Photos".
    Solution procedure:
    connect the iphone to iMac
in the Summary window of the devices, click "Restore"
choose not to save the backup file
choose to restore the iphone as a "NEW" device instead of choosing a backup files*
    follow the rest of instructions.
It helped and now I can view my photos in the photo album.
    * However, I accidentary re-restored it with a saved backup file and the "Photos" application stopped working again. I repeated the resotre procedure avoiding the accidental restoration to a backup file.
The camera and the photos were working before iOS v5 update, and it is now working again. So, it is obviously not the hardware issue. It seems that iOS v5 and the Photos are having compatibility issue Apple should look into this issue.

  • Catalyst Control Center: Host applicaton has stopped working

    I keep getting the error:
Catalyst Control Center: Host applicaton has stopped working
A problem caused the program to stop working correctly.  Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
The only button on this window is "Close program"
This error started on 01/04/15 (via the event viewer).
The video driver for my AMD Radeon HD 7520G from AMD is dated 9/15/2014 with a version of 14.301.1001.0.  If I go to the HP support site, the driver is shows is dated 11/11/2013 with a version of 13.152.1.1000.

    Hi @cjssas
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are getting an application error from your Catalyst Control center. I am happy to assist with this.
The first thing I would recommend trying is a system restore to a point before the problem began. It is possible that some other software installed or driver, or system update, may be the cause. So take a look at this:
Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 8)
If that does not work, then I would download the driver again, uninstall the existing driver, restart the computer and then install the driver once more and see if the problem recurs.
Incidentally the support website shows the latest hp customized version of all the drivers for that notebook. Hp customizes them to be compatible with the other hardware in the notebook. It is always possible to use a different driver, but there are no guarantees it will work.
    I hope this helps.

  • Catalyst Control Center: Host Application has stopped working (Error)

Hi, I have anHP Envy 14-1110nr Notebook PC, with Windows 7 64-bit, and Catalyst Control Center (To configure switchable graphics) doesn't work. I believe to be stuck on my low performance GPU,and can't switch. I cannot load anything to do with my switchable graphics, and am at a loss for what to do (I'm a very inexperienced computer user). I have browsed other forums related to this but am scared that I'll destroy my computer by downloading the wrong thing. This all started after I got a virus that caused me to need to reset my computer from an earlier stage, please help.

    Hi,
Try using Recovery Manager to reinstall your AMD Graphics Driver - the procedure for using recovery manager to reinstall Software and Drivers is detailed in the relevant document on the link below.
    Recovery Manager - Windows 7
After the reinstallation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Catalyst Control Center stopped working properly after widows update

When I let Windows Update install the newest catalyst control center driver I could not open catalyst control center so I tried to do a system restore but it failed because It said my anti virus was preventing this with the error code 0x80070005.I first tried to disable the anti virus shields and restore didnt work. Then I uninstalled the anti virus and went to safe mode but it gave my the same error. Now Catalyst Control Center opens but the only feature available is HydraVision. I still cannot change the picture and graphics settings because they are not there to select in CCC.

Learn How to Post and More. I understand that your Catalyst Control Center (CCC) program on your desktop computer has stopped working correctly after downloading Windows update drivers for it, and I would be happy to assist you in this matter! To correct this issue, I recommend returning your system back to a previous restore point to before the Windows updates were installed. This can be done by following this resource on Using Microsoft System Restore (Windows 7).  Once the restore point has been enabled, you can update your CCC and graphics drivers by following this document on Using HP Support Assistant (Windows 7).  Please re-post with the results of your troubleshooting, and I look forward to your reply!

  • Satellite A100-237: I do not have the Catalyst Control Center after driver installation

    Hello,
    I use a Satellite A100-237 laptop. 1.83 GHz Core Duo, Ati Mobility Radeon X1600 512MB Hypermemory, 1.5GB DDR2 RAM.
My laptop now seems to use only the own 256 MB RAM (Graphic card's own RAM).
I purchased Need for Speed Carbon and installed it to my laptop.
When I tried to open the game, a blue screen appeared for less than 1 seconds, and than system restarted. Windows said that that was a critical error and a driver stopped Windows XP to operate, therefore system is restarted.
I searched in the net for this problem and, people said that, when they updated the driver the problem is solved.
I downloaded Display driver 8.241 (download file name: display_xp-8241.zip) from toshiba-europe.com.
Driver installed but while installing ATI Catalyst Control Center, at a point the installation process stoped continuing. I had to end the task after a while.
It said that driver is installed and system must be restarted.
Now the game works, thats not the problem, however I do not have the Catalyst Control Center. (Where I recently use it for connecting other screens to my laptop)
How can I solve this problem?
    Sorry for long letter,
    Thanks for helps.

You may run the driver installer again, use the custom installation option and select Catalyst Control Center only. Alternatively, you may remove the entire driver and try re-installing again. I suggest you also download the notebook driver package from ATI's website instead of Toshiba, as their drivers are usually more up-to-date (although it might be less safe to use them, I don't know).
And BTW, I have the same notebook and I have failed to see an option to set the machine to use the VRAM *only* instead of borrowing from RAM whenever necessary. Any ideas?
