U330 Touch - battery empty after sleep

Hi,
Since the new firmware update the machine is actually working fine, but my problem is the following. Even if my battery is fully charged and i leave it a night in sleep mode every morning the battery is empty!
Intel smart connect shouldn't allow it to wake up from 9 pm to 9 am, but still... You have any ideas what I could change??
Thank you already for any answer!

UPDATE (new info): it happened again, but now more specifically. 1) Two weeks ago, I used twist on battery, turned it off with 50% battery remaining, and was not able to use it for more than a week (busy at work) --> battery level almost did not change after this, BUT 2) Two days ago, I used Twist connected to the power net (electricity), the battery was full at the end, then I turned Twist off ... only to find out that after 2 days (!) of no use the capacity of the battery was at 70% level. Any idea what is going on? I do not think there is a problem with the battery itself, but Twist "does something" sometimes...

  • Battery empty after long inactivity

Dear fellow users, I have observed strange battery behavior with my Twist. I do not mean anything related to the battery life when computer is on, but when I shut the computer down. When I leave it off couple of days and then restart it, the battery capacity (how much it is charged) seems be at the same level, when I powered the computer off. But it happened to me twice already that I shut down the computer (no sleep, there would be a blinking light visible) and did not use it for several weeks. When I restarted Twist after several weeks of being off, the battery was completely empty (e.g., at 4% or 5% when it was originally at 50% or 99%). As the battery behaves normally when computer is running, I am wondering what a cause could be? Is there some software setting influencing power states (e.g., sleep / deep sleep / complete shut down)? Any other ideas? Thank you. Best, Pavel

  • NB305-105 - Battery empty after few days

    Hi,
I have a Toshiba NB305-105 (2 Gb Ram - 250 GB HDD) with Windows 7 (64) Ultimate. My battery (6 cells) has a long life about 6 hours but I don't manage why when switch-on the day after the PC the battery is discharged. I verify that PC is right switch-off and not in hibernate/stand-by but after some days the battery is complete empty.
Someone has had the same problems?
    Thank for any help.
    Regards

    Hey,
After few days the battery shouldnt be empty but it will lose a little bit power, thats normal behavior on all notebooks. Normally up to 5-10% is normal each night/day.
In your case I would check the BIOS. There you should find options like Wake up on LAN, Wake up on Keyboard and USB Sleep & Charge. Disable all these options because they are consuming power while notebook is turned off.
I did the same after this it lose just 2-4% so its very good! :)

  • IPod touch white screen after sleep?

After I put my iPod Touch to sleep, and I wake it up, I get a white screen that flickers from time to time, then just goes right back to sleep. I can sometimes coax it into coming up by sliding my finger over where the slid to unlock button would be, but that doesn't always work. I just bought it yesterday. Is this a widespread issue or should I just take it back?

Happens on my one aswell... but happens at any battery life level.
I don't know if it is me just me speculating or whatever but it seems to happen when i leave it for a few minutes on sleep... and so far it has only happened whilst listening to music.
Also, just for the record it is a week 38 model.
I might go into my local apple store on Saturday and see what i say, but sod's law says that when i try and show the genius it wont work.

  • IPod Touch battery life after 2.1

I'm having some problems after the update. A fully charged iPod will have lost its charge after a night at standby. While connected the iPod shows battery at full capacity even though iTunes gets the battery level right. The screen is also fully lit at all times while tethered, unless I manually turn it off.

Just went through a complete Restore; plugged into iTunes, click the Restore, confirm and waited 10 minutes or so for it go through the process. Reinstated settings from backup - Apps, email, Notes, etc. Podcasts and Music Videos copied back also.
Set to Autolock after 1 minute, screen now fades after 45 seconds, switches to sleep after 1 minute, so it looks like this did the trick.
Will wait for the battery to charge and see how that's holding up now. Promising start though, the battery indicator went from red to green when it wasn't even connected to the Mac.
Just need to copy back all the music that was on it now... Suppose it was due for a bit of a shuffle anyhow

  • Zen Touch battery life after 1 year -

There are periodic questions on this forum from people concerned about the battery life of non-user-replaceable batteries on players such as the Touch and the Sleek. I have had my Touch for a year, and decided to conduct a test to see how much the battery life had decreased. I did 2 tests, one using WMA 64kbs and the other using MP3 CBR 28kbs.
    Here are my results:
    WMA 64: 25.5 hrs
    MP3 28: 25 hrs.
Essentially, there has been no reduction from the rated battery life of 24 hrs. I didn't do a similar test when I first bought my Touch, so I don't know if the original battery life was even more than this, but this is impressi've either way.

For sure, and with all the players I think that use Lithium Ion batteries

That's great to here. BatteryUni'versity.com quotes about a 20% drop in life over the first year, although I guess it varies with usage. Thanks for posting this useful data!

  • My Macbook (2006) with a new battery empties its battery overnight in sleep mode, why?

It's now been six months that I can't use sleep mode if my macbook is unplugged because the battery gets empty overnight. I had to replace my battery three months ago and I thought this would solve my problem. But, although my new battery lasts for over 4 hours, it is completely empty after a night in sleep mode. I checked the Internet but I found nothing. I've tried to reset the energy management system, but it did not good.
The mac really goes into sleep mode (I can see the brightness of the white light change when the lid is closed).
My macbook has a dual boot Mac os Lion and Windows 7 with bootcamp and the problem is the same whether sleeping under Mac OS or under Windows 7.
I tried turning bluetooth and wifi off, but it doesn't change anything.
    I hope someone can help.
    Thanks in advance!

    Thank you for your answer,
I tried to log out and put the computer to sleep, but I still lost 40% of the battery in 10 hours (I reckon it is a little less than when I'm not logged out).
I reset the SMC again, no result either.
The computer does look like it is sleeping, the display is off, the light is changing and if I touch a key of the keyboard, it turn itself back with the sound of the CD check.
Does my answer help the diagnosis?
Would reinstall the whole computer solve my problem?
    Thanks!

  • Battery empty at 1% or even 0% but no automatic sleep happening

I wanted to calibrate my macbook pro to optimize the battery usage because i always use my mac at school.
But then I noticed that whenever my battery empties at 1% or 0% nothing happens. My mac doesn't turn off by itself, or even the display won't sleep. Why is this? Is there something wrong?
On the system preferences: My mac will eventually sleep on battery after 15 minutes. But it doesnt.. what settings should I change?
Before my battery will only take like 10% and the pop up for "your computer is running low" then i will completely empty my battery and my mac turns off or i dont know..sleep by itself - but right now its not happening.
    thanks for the help

  • Need entering BIOS to setup date after battery empty

    Hi, I'm new here.
I worked as technical support where I should maintain many T400.
I have to deal with this issue for T400 type 2767 CTO
The T400 should entering BIOS first and re set date format to actual date after battery empty
Without re set date and time T400 can't be use.
I have checked whether there's damaged in internal BIOS battery, and find no issue in there.
In previous purchase where I got same T400 but different type ( TYPE 2767 RR4) we've never seen an issue like this.
    Any solution about my problem
    Many thanks.
    Regards,
    Doni

Thanks, it was very messy I tried to make it simple and installed Win 8.1 OS on the SSD, with up to 1GB/sec r/w transfer rate when all performance functions in Magician were enabled, and the HDD from Seagate has up to 170MB/sec r/w transfer rate, ok, don't want to touch the bios before I have to

  • Battery, Power, Deep Sleep and Spotlight problems after 10.9.4 update

Hi, I have a Macbook Pro 8,1 13in (Late 2011). I updated to the latest version of Mavericks (10.9.4) and iTunes on Sunday, right after that my macbook started to goes into Deep Sleep after closing the lid, even when the battery was 80% of charge. My battery normally lasts for almost 5 hours. After it went to deep sleep, the power bottom does not respond. Also, I have noticed that spotlight process in Monitor was consuming so huge amount of resources. This problem persists in Boot Camp. There is no way to turn the machine up without plugging it to the power cord. Sometimes it charges the battery as usual, sometimes it does not recognize the battery. Suddenly, the mac goes into sleep mode while I'm using it.
I have researching and troubleshooting in order to fix this but no solution. I have reset the PRAM and SMC. I made a backup of my files and installed Mavericks from the ground with external storage in order to erase the entire disk, no solution. I made an Internet Recovery and downgraded it to Lion, it worked for 2 hours and then I upgraded again to Mavericks (10.9.0) and the same problem came again, the upgraded to 10.9.4 and no solution at all.
I have searched on internet and there are other people experiencing this problem but nobody is able to bring a valid solution.

Hi, since you have performed NVRAM /PRAM reset, try:
Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC)
and if still issues persist,  try: OS X: What is Safe Boot, Safe Mode?

I do not understand what "My iPod touch G5 standby after fully charge 2 hr 58 min." means.
Also % battery is not accurate for an iPod. It fluctuates.

  • Battery drains while sleeping after RAM upgrade

Installed 16 GB of RAM and a Hybrid/SSD 1 TB internal HD on MacBook Pro 15" mid 2012 and now the battery drains while the computer is in sleep mode, about 1-3 % per hour. Before the RAM upgrade (stock 4 GB of RAM) there was no noticeable battery drain, so I assume it has to do with the upgrade. I read that it takes more power to maintain 16 GB of RAM during sleep, so my questions are as follows:
    Is 1-3% per hour normal?
Will resetting the SMC help the issue?
Does the Hybrid HD have anything to do with this?
I am not too happy about the battery drain as it happens that I don't use my laptop for some time and prior to the upgrade the loss of battery charge was not an issue at all. Is this the price I have to pay for maxing out my RAM or is there a way (resets, settings, etc) to reduce the amount of battery loss
    Thanks for your input.

Hi everybody. I have the same question. I have a macbook unibody late 2008. I have recently upgraded the OS to Yosemite. In order to have a smoother functioning of the system I have immediately replaced my original 2Gb (1+1) RAM with 8 Gb (4+4). Since then, I have noticed a dramatic reduction of my battery charge during sleep mode. Now after 8 hours of sleep it goes from 100% to around 65% (before it was 95%). Is it a natural consequence of having installed a larger RAM or there could be anything wrong with my settings?
I have read a couple of articles about standby mode and standbydelay setting but this does not apply to my model of macbook.
Here is my pmset -g result:

    1) This is because of software version 1.1. See this
thread for some options as to how to go back to 1.0,
    which will correct the problem...
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=3754

    2) This tends to happen after videos. Give the iPod a
minute or two to readjust. It should now be more
    accurate.
    3) This?
iPod shows a folder icon with exclamation
    point
    4) Restore the iPod
    5) Try these...
iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo and Will Not Start
    Up
iPod Only Shows An Apple Logo
I think 3,4, and 5 are related. Try the options I
    posted for each one.
    btabz
I just noticed that one of the restore methods you posted was to put it into Disk Mode First rather than just use the resstore straight off, I Have tried that and seems to have solved the problem, If it has thank you. previously I have only tried just restoring it skipping this extra step. Hope my iPod stays healthy, if it doesnt its a warrenty job me thinks any way thanks again

  • Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery -- mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)

Macbook Pro won't login after sleep (sleep with low battery --> mac turned off maybe it's called save sleep)
So if I hit the powerbutton my mbp booted like it is booting from the save sleep (so very fast and the login screen is there in about 10 sec.and there is no apple logo while booting just the desktop screen in "unsharp" ore foggy however...)
Then when i see the login (if the keyboard backlight turned on) i wand do tipe in my code but it won't work... the trackpad is not working; and when i plug-in a usb mouse the mbp is not powering on the usb-mouse (laser is off)
    Why is that this way?
Is there n option to wake up the mbp fromm deep/save sleep without haveing issiues after that?

Sorry for such a long delayed response...
I was able to get to an apple store this past weekend, and let me tell you... I'm about finished with there great "support".
Right before I went to the store, I tried to eject a disk. Well the cloth in the SuperDrive (I assume to protect the drive from dust and such) Pulled up with my disk. So I get the Apple store, describe my problem and what happened with the cloth piece. The "Genius" writes up a form and tells me they have to run diagnostic and it will take a couple days... and I will get a call when its done (1-3 days).
Well on day number 3 I called up the store and they told me it was ready to be picked up? I asked if anything had been fixed and they told me they could not reproduce my "sleep issue", so they couldn't fix that.. but told me the cloth piece in the SuperDrive had been fixed.
I drive an hour (one way) to the Apple store to find that all they did was PULLED OUT the cloth... they did not replace it! So basically I have a hole for a Super Drive.
I asked why I was not called to say that my computer was ready to be picked up... didn't get an answer on that one.
I asked why my SuperDrive was said to be fixed, when nothing was done... they told me that it would have to be sent out to the factory store for that to be fixed (FIRST TIME THEY MENTIONED THAT!) Oh, and that would take 5-7 business days. Well that's not going to happen right now considering I'm a college student that NEEDS a working computer!
So I go home, angry... start just putting all my important documents back on the computer. And the screen starts blinking!!!! I guess now I have the same thing described in another post on these forms...
Lets just say that I'm not very happy with Apple right now! If anybody else has success on either the sleep issue or the screen blinking issue, please let me know!
    Thank you!
