U410 Intel Rapid Start Technology Driver - failure

For about the last two weeks (for some unknown reason) Intel Rapid Start Technology is unable to start on my U410 Laptop.  I attempted to reinstall the driver from the Lenovo page, but when I get to the install point I get a message stating my device does not meet the minimum specifications for this technology!
It's making start ups and logging on a major drag
Has anyone experienced this before?  Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Rory

Never found a way to fix it. Me and my friends are pretty proficient with computers too. Just been shutting down my computer every time I'm done using it. Lenovo said we can send it to them and they'll take a look or replace under warranty

  • How to use Intel Rapid Start technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531 computer?

I have a Thinkpad Edge 531 (model 6885-73G) preloaded with Windows 7 64bit. According to the appropriate user guide (see Thinkpad E531 User Guide - page 108) and chipset specifications Mobile Intel® HM77 Express this ThinkPad model supports Intel Rapid Start Technology with a special partition on the SSD M.2.Such an SSD with the specification M.2 (see MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2) I bought it and installed successfully on my ThinkPad, which can run a cache software FNet HybriDisk on.
However, even if I proceed exactly according to the installation script by Intel, see (Intel Rapid Start Technology User Guide) or by the installation script by Lenovo community, (see Edge E330 and Intel Rapid Start), I can not put into operation Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad, although I use the installed SSD disk with an alone partition of appropriate type (with ID type 84 on MBR) with more allocated space than the size of RAM for my ThinkPad and with the currently deployed version of BIOS (1.29) and current drivers, such is Intel (R) Rapid Storage Technology Driver version 11.1.5.1001 downloaded from the webiste of Lenovo support for this model ThinkPad Edge 531.
Since, in my opinion, based on the above specifications declared by the manufacturer Lenovo and Intel, this ThinkPad model should support Intel Rapid Start Technology, I would like therefore to know how this technology on my ThinkPad to put into operation, because of which I also bought this ThinkPad model. Does exist for this model ThinkPad Edge 531 some specific deployment scenario of Intel Rapid Start Technology? Does anyone have any practical experience with the launch of this technology on those ThinkPad models? Can it be expected that the full support of Intel Rapid Start Technology for the ThinkPad Edge 531 will occur after the release of a new version of the BIOS or a new version of Solid State Drive Firmware Update Utility with support for MyDigitalSSD Super Cache 2 published on the website of Lenovo support?
Thanks in advance for any advice and guidance with the launch of Intel Rapid Start Technology on my ThinkPad Edge 531.

    hi O_hei,
If you're running on the 66cn52ww BIOS or above, I'm afraid the BIOS is limitting you from enabling the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.  For now, try to  uninstall the Intel Rapid Start Technology under Control Panel (large icon view) > Programs and Features to get rid of the "Your system does not appear to have Intel rapid start technology enable" error on startup.
Upon checking, the Yoga 13 here in the lab runs on the 66cn51ww BIOS and has the Intel Rapid Start Technology feature.
    Spoiler (Highlight to read)
I recommend you visit the lenovo website once an updated BIOS is released that enable this feature.
    Best regards,

  • Intel Rapid Start Technology does not appear to be installed

How do I get rid of this message?
    It's an HP Envy dv7 Notebook, D0X38EA#ABU
I haven't upgraded any part of the hardware - it's  configured as it came out of the box. It's running Win 8.1
I have looked through the forum and downloaded manuals and it all gets extremely technical very quickly.  So I downloaded a driver from intel and it says "This computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing the software".
I am just a simple user. I can guess that the Intel thing will make the computer boot faster. That would be nice but I'm not qualified to start faffing around in the BIOS. Nor do I want to be.
Please just tell me how to make the message go away. It's annoying.

  • Y410p Cannot install Intel Rapid Start Technology

Hi Guys, I have a Y410p and I have replaced the HDD with a SSD on windows 8. Before changed to SSD, i did not try to install the intel rapid start and thus I never know if it could work before. I re-install Windows 8 on the SSD and also installed Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver. When I install the Intel Rapid Start, I got this error: "this computer does not meet the minimum requirements for installing this software" I have checked the BIOS, I cannot see any relevant settings and I just make sure AHCI enabled. I have done the parition (on the GPT) using the set ID = D3BFE2DE-3DAF-11DF-BA40-E3A556D89593 I have followed this guide (UEFI)http://download.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/sb/rapid_start_technology_user_guide_for_uefi1.pdf Is it Y410P cannot have the Intel Rapid Start installed because of the chipset or the BIOS? Do I miss anything? Please help. Thanks in advance.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad U310 Intel Rapid Start Technology with WIndows 7 Ultimate

    Hello,
I have upgraded my Windows 7 Home Premium to Ultimate. Got it in my domain and everything seems normal . But I wanted to check the options of that energy saving settings and can't find any information about, when does my computer go to hibernate. He does use the stand by, but for how long? Until the battery is low? That makes no sense.
The computer must go in hibernate or is this with ultrabooks going other ways?

    Hi
I have further investigated  and  found a solution for hibernation
In order to enable hibernate in Lenovo Machines SSD support models, you will need to restart and Enter into the BIOS Setting
    1. Press Fn+ F2 to enter BIOS
    2. Choose "Configuration > SATA controller working mode" as "RAID";
    3. Select "Configuration>Intel Rapid Start Technology", choose " iRST Support"  and "Entry on S3 critical battery event" as "Disable";
. It will then automatically return to an available Windows power options setting. However, iRST (Intel Rapid Start Technology) does not have the ability to wake a system from hibernate.
Now restart the system and you will find hibernation option is enabled under power option
    Hope This Helps
    Cheers!!!

  • Intel Rapid Start Technology - Error Message upon start-up

I have a fairly new Lenovo U310 that has been nothing but problems since I purchased it. Recently, it has been taking a long time to start up and when it finally hits the desktop, an error message pops up that says "Your system does not appear to have Intel Rapid Start Technology enabled." I hit 'OK' but there's not apparent way to fix this problem. I've tried downloading the IRST drivers from Intel, but trying to install them give me the error message saying that my system can't support the item. Help?

I'm afraid I don't know the layout of the BIOS options on Ideapads, only on Thinkpads - with the latter it is on something like the third screen of options and it is clearly labelled as Intel RapidStart.

Download this:http://www.station-drivers.com/index.php/downloads/func-startdown/94/(100% turstable website)  double click the exe and let files extract, browse in the new folder and launch the setup file. then reboot and check if it BSOD again.

I use it because I have a Crucial M4 SSD. It performs better with the intel
I was referring to intel rapid Storage Technology. I will drink more coffee before posting again

Iam also having thoughts about this, any information would be great.

  • Can't install Intel Rapid Storage Technology driver on Yoga 2 11

The Lenovo driver list for the Yoga 2 11 includes Intel Rapid Storage Technology (IRST) Driver for 64-bit Windows. However, attempting to install this results in the message, "No Appropriate Driver to be Installed". Likewise, attempting to install the Rapid Storage Technology driver from Intel's site results in the error, "The platform is not supported."
Windows Device Manager shows WDC WD5000M22K-24Z1LT0-SSHD-16GB for the disk drive name, so it appears that the drive should support the RAID configuration for SSD caching. This is consistent with the specs for the laptop.
Is it normal for the drivers to not install? It seems odd, given the placement on Lenovo's driver list. I'd like to set the Acceleration Mode to Maximized as described in Intel's User Guide.

    Hi Jakobsjoqvist,
    Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
I’m really sorry to hear that you had trouble installing Intel Rapid Storage AHCI driver in your Lenovo Thinkpad T430s.
I would suggest you to try uninstalling the driver and run the Intel Driver update utility which will auto-detect the missing drivers and will install the latest version for you.
    Hope this helps!

  • Toshiba Satellite E55t-A5320 Intel Rapid Start Tech driver

After completely clearing my hard drive and reinstalling windows 8.1 I have had trouble installing the Intel Rapid Start Tech drivers. The error reads:
    Error: File not found
    Code: 800A0035
    Source: Microsoft VBScript runtime error
no idea what to do anyone else had this problem?

The exact same thing happened to me yesterday Feb 5!!!
During normal use of windows 7 the computer crashed and went through the same boot procedure as described by the previous poster.
Now I can't do anything with my hard drive. I tired everything. I even tried restoring it from the backup image that I have, but it said that it cannot find hard drive!
I do not have Toshiba Recovery. Can I download it from somewhere?
Does anyone have any suggestions? After booting from Win 7 Recovery Disk, I even tried fixing the MBR and partitions, but I would always get an error message that the system doesn't support the software I tried using (guessing because it's 64bit?)
Please, any suggestion is most welcome and appreciated!!!
    Thanks,
    Djape

  • Your system does not appear to have intel rapid start technology

I have a Lenovo U310 with windows 8 and wish I could take it back. Problem after problem with this computer, both hardware and software related. I started getting this message about the Intel rapid start a couple of days ago. I went into this forum and one of the specilists suggested going into BIOS and change the SATA controller working mode to RAID and to enable IRST which I did. Now the computer can not start. It tries to load and it says that the recovery system failed. I can get to the BIOS menu again but I wont let me get to configuration screen. Any help would be much appreciated. thanks
    Solved!

    hi yzarate,
I'm sorry to hear what happened,
If the system is giving you a failed to start Option,  Restarting it May sometime give you option Like Safe mode,
If you're getting that, select that option and it should be able to start you system while in RAID then restart the system again once booted back up.
If you're not getting that message I would suggest go back to BIOS
go to the Exit TAB, Select Load optimized default or press F9 to load defaults, F10 to save and Exit and hit enter,
Try loading BIOS again and see if the configuration tab will be available,
    Best Regards

  • U410 "rapid start technology not enables"; won't shut down; touchpad problems...

Having a bit of a nightmare at the moment with my (three month old!) U410 Ultrabook. When it turns on it takes an ABSOLUTE AGE, and then I get a popup saying "Your system does not appear to have Intel Rapid Start Technology enabled." Then if I try to shut it down normally, it just sort of goes to sleep and I can only tun it off properly with the power button. In the past few days, the scrolling function of the touchpad stopped working.
I have several important deadlines approaching and all this is really interfering with my work.
    Can anyone offer solutions?

    hi Aoife,
    Welcome to the Forums.
If the Ideapad U410 is configured with Windows 8 and runs on an HDD+mSATA SSD drive then your issue might be somewhat similar to this thread.
When the machine boots up, it caches data and enables Intel Rapid Start Technology on the mSATA SSD. To ensure everything is configured correctly, try to check if:
    1. The mSATA SSD is detected under the BIOS
    2. Data caching is enabled via Intel Smart Respose Technology, check this guide on how to reconfigure it. If data caching is enabled via Expresscache, try opening a command prompt and type eccmd -info. You should see an output similar to this image.
    3. Intel Rapid Start Technology is configured as in this guide.
Alternatively, you may also want to run an error scan on the drive by using HD Tune or similar utility and observe.
    Let me know your findings
    Regards

  • Help Intel Rapid Start Problem U410

I've suddenly started having a problem with my U410 laptop. Everytime I put it on it shows a message that my system does not apear to have Intel Rapid Start Tecnology enabled. Ive checked the bios and it shows it being enabled but also that the IRST Partition status INVALID.
Can anyone pleas help me resolve this, I'm running Windows 8.1, the laptop is now out of warranty.

    Hey everyone,
I registered just to at the very least post a possible solution to this problem. Was working on a U310 Touch unit tonight and came across the very same issue described in this post. Upon starting the unit in Windows 8, you get to the desktop and get a lovely message about Intel Rapid Start Technology not being enabled on the unit. Well, I went into the EFI BIOS and discovered that iRST was in an invalid state. Upon further investigation I noticed the 25GB partition (all within the same single hdd, as this unit did not have an ssd inside) was visible to the end user through Computer as a regular disk.
So the solution? Well, the partition somehow got unmarked as the hibernation partition! In my case, the fix was to use diskpart, select disk 0 (only hdd in machine), select the 25GB partition (was partition 7 I believe for my case) and ran this command (from the Rapid Start user guide and a microsoft forum post):
    set id=D3BFE2DE-3DAF-11DF-BA40-E3A556D89593
This magical command sets the partition which we selected to be the hibernation partition. Once I rebooted, the error messages never came back, and I checked in the BIOS and now iRST says "Established", and everything is back to working order!
Hope this helps someone, took me a little while to figure this out.
    ** SMALL EDIT **
I used the default settings in the BIOS, set as AHCI in this case (no ssd, single hdd) when I checked after resetting to defaults.

  • Intel Rapid Storage Technology with a single mechanical hard drive.

Do you recommend installing Intel Rapid Storage Technology with a single mechanical hard drive.
MSI website suggest these IRST drivers for my motherboard:
    - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Floppy Driver for 7x series
    - Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for 7x series
Board: MSI Z77A-GD55 LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with UEFI BIOS
    Hard Drive: SAMSUNG Spinpoint F3 ST1000DM005/HD103SJ 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive
Multiple responses/opinions is encouraged for complete verification.
    Thanks!

    Hi,
Sorry to dig up this thread.
This is from Z77A-G45 driver page:
    1. Intel Management Engine Driver
    2. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver
    3. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Floppy Driver for 7x series
    4. Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driver for 7x series
    http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z77A-G45.html#/?div=Driver&os=Win7%2064
Like BiGxSHOOTER, I have a single drive and I don't know the importance of each driver. Can someone tell me which ones I should install and in what order?
    Thanks
