U430Touch - Touchscreen problem

Hi all,
i have a strange behaviour when I connect a usb mouse + my speekers via usb to the u430 touch. When i connect them both my touchscreen isn't working anymore. I also tried the combination with mouse + smartphone - same problem. It looks like if there are 2 devices connected to my u430 touch the touchscreen isn't working.
When I unplug one of the connected devices the touch is still not working. I have to reboot the system.
Would be really nice if anyone got an idea what's the problem!
Best wishes,
flo

According to the User manual for your laptop, when the computer has more than a 20% charge on the battery, that USB port will support charging other devices.
I am not 100% certain, but I can see where this might cause a problem. The port might be trying to "charge" the devices on the port other than the UB receiver for the mouse. I am not sure why it would cause a problem with the touchscreen other than the touchscreen is also a HID along with the mouse. There might be some kind of unforeseen feedback going on.
What happens if you use any other USB port?

  • Touchpad touchscreen problems (erratic behavior/not responding correctly/etc) temporary solution.

I bought a HP Touchpad about a month or two after it came out. It worked pretty much as you'd expect it to until some time ago. I started getting a problem where the screen would go crazy and not respond correctly to my touch inputs. Web pages would jump all over the place, cards would zoom out, etc, in other words, they would behave erratically. After some testing I noticed that certain areas  of the touchscreen would NOT respond at all to inputs while others would make the screen go crazy like I mentioned previously. I looked for information on the web to see if other people where having the same problem and found reports of the same behavior. Unfortunately there where no solutions offered. At that point I tried turning on and off the Touchpad which did not resolve the problem. My next step was to try to reinstall the OS with WebOS Doctor, but I read a post where the user reported similar behavior and reinstalling with WebOS Doctor didn't fix the problem. Needless to say I was bummed out since I figured it was a hardware problem with the touchscreen. After more testing I found a temporary solution to the problem which seems to suggest that the probem could be software. The solution when you get the problem is to hold down the power button and the home button at the same time and keep them pressed until the screen shuts down and the touchpad restarts. Once the OS comes back up it works like it is supposed to until you get the next episode of screen epilepsy. At that point you need to do the procedure again and it will fix the problem temporarily. Usually the fix lasts for a few days in my case. The fix also solves other problems I have with the touchpad. Problems like, videos not playing fluidly or freezing every few seconds although the sound plays fine (youtube), sound gets messed up (sounds are played in a robot like pitch), and others. If anybody has questions or other suggestions let me know, I will answer the as best as I can.
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

I think the YouTube and sound problems are separate from the other erratic behaviour.  Recently my touchpad won't play YouTube videos beyond certain points, starting a few seconds in possibly due to the advertising pop-ups - I can skip forwards, but that means I miss crucial parts.  My sound also goes 'robot-like' until a reboot, which is incredibly annoying!  Your touchscreen problems may be specific to your device - try going to Device Info / Diagnostics and see if that tells you anything.

  • TouchSmart IQ506 Touchscreen Problems

Our company recently got a TouchSmart IQ506 with Windows Vista 64bit, and everything was working fine. We did a fresh reformat, got it in the network and ran all the updates and such. As you may, or may not, know, the IQ506 doesn't have a VGA port to setup a second monitor or connect to a projector, so in order to use the TouchSmart mirroring an image to the projector we purchased StarTech's USB 2.0 to VGA Display Adapter. I installed the drivers and got it working and mirroring the image properly, however, now I am having a problem with the touchscreen.
The touchscreen is responding when I touch it, but the pointer is flushed all the way to the right. The mouse follows my stylus up and down with me, but it doesn't come to the left. It is as if the screen is only reading the y-coordinates of where I am touching, and the x-coordinates are stuck all the way to the right.
The touchscreen was working perfectly fine before I installed the graphics card driver, and the software to get the VGA display adapter to work. The mouse and keyboard is working fine, everything is perfect except for this touchscreen problem. I am 99% sure it is a software issue, and I wanted to know if there is a known issue, or if anyone else has had this kind of problem. I'm assuming it is the software for the VGA display adapter, and was wondering if that is the case, what alternatives I can make so the TouchSmart can support a second display without having touchscreen, or any other, problems.
Sorry in advance if there is already a topic on this issue, I went thorugh the forums and didn't find anything about this.
    This question was solved.

It sound like the calibration screen and the touch "focus" has been shifted to the "primary" display - which is the last added display adapter. I don't have the setup to test, but you might be able to fix by selecting the Touch panel as the primary display (maybe). You may be stuck because the USB adapter will always be enumerated as the last device.
    Perhaps...
    1) Plug in USB adapter to enable display.
    2) Go into display options and select Touchscreen as Primary and make sure "extend desktop" is unchecked.
You may also be able to trick the system by going into DM and removing reinstalling the real primary display adapter.
If all fails, you should be able to unplug the USB device and use MS system restore to go back when it was working properly.
Of course, I am saying all this without having the hardware in front ofme. I've played around with mutiple displays enough to know that you get into some funny behaviour when you have two distinct video adapters installed in the system. The best multi-display solution are those driven from one adapter - one video card with an HDMI and a DVI for example.
If you figure this out, please reply back. I'd like to know if it is possible to keep touch while using another adapter.

  • Touchscreen Probleme

    Hallo liebe Apple Community,
Was glaubt ihr?

    Was soll ich tun?

  • Daily edition (prs 900) touchscreen problem

Does anyone know what to do about this problem?
The touchscreen on my prs 900 daily edition has stopped working. It just doesn't respond. You touch or tap or swipe and nothing happens - no response. I cant use any screen icons that depend on the touchscreen.
Is there a firmware update or any other solution anyone knows of? Anything I can try?

Are you saying ONLY the touchscreen doesnt respond? So the hardware buttons are still working?
I suggest try a soft reset (push the reset button on bottom edge), if this doesnt resolve, try a factory reset (be aware, all data will be erased), using the reset button plus sliding the power button. Instruction for further steps are on the screen.
If that doesnt resolve the problem, service may be required.

hi mate, nothing you can do here except to take your phone to Nokia Care for inspection as you have tried all avenues of troubleshooting on your own accord.

  • Ipad touchscreen problem

I have problems with my ipad's touchscreen, it doesn't respond in one part of the screen!

    Try this:
Make sure IOS is updated to latest version
Reboot device by pressing both the home button and sleep/wake (power) buttons at the same time for 10-15 seconds until the apple logo appears on the screen, then let go.
If that doesn't work then reset the device by going to settings/general/reset/reset all settings
If that doesn't work then backup and then restore the device as new.

  • Iphone5 touchscreen problem

I purchased iphone5 day before yesterday and since then I am facing issue with the touchscreen as the corner of the screen is not responding to touch properly for example the WiFi on and of option takes at least 4-5 taps to activate or deactivate, I request all of you to try turning WiFi in and of with any fingure other than thumb and letme know. For this I went to apple service centre which actually to me didn't looked like one because of its name(RSG INFOTECH) and infrastructure, I was really shocked to see the way customers were treated there and almost all customers who came there were unhappy say 9 of 10 were going out with bad comments. When my turn came, the lady was stubborn to accept the problem and was saying it was normal and it's my psychology for which I had to go and ask a guy for his iphone5 and then use both in front of her, finally she told ok there may be a problem. After that she takes my brandnew iPhone and tells me that I wil get back after two days and when I asked her what they are going to do with it then she told me that they are going to open my brand new iPhone and do diagnostic test!!....I was like *** its a brand new iPhone and I did not made a single call from it and you want to break its virginity.
Seriously guys this was my first and last pyrchase from apple.
Sorry for such a long post.

No it is an apple service centre, today I took my phone back and to my shock the problem is as it is and to make it more worse there are 3 scuffs on top which service centre says I have done. It was just 4 days old phone and no I feel as if it is 1 yr old phone.

  • TungstenE2 touchscreen problems again

I've bought two TungstenE2s in the past two years. A year ago, my first E2 developed a problem that would NOT allow me to use the letter or number input areas. When I tapped them, all I would get was a period every time I tapped.
When I called Palm, they were no support  at all and told me to send in for paid repair.
Rather than do that, like an idiot I bought another E2. It has worked fine until today, when I did a touchscreen reset using the bullseyes. After that I was once again unable to input text or numbers. I can believe that I got a lemon ONCE, but with the same problem happening with the second device IT HAS GOT TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE E2.
I do not HotSync with my computer and use the E2 purely as an organizer and calendar planner. Has anyone found a way to fix this problem which makes the device useless?
    Post relates to: Tungsten E2

Hello alancas, Welcome to the Palm Support Community.
It sounds like you might have "Write On Screen" activated!  This turns your entire screen into a Grafitti area.
Go to the Prefs icon, then "Writing Area".  If "Write On Screen" is active, turn it off.

  • New Flex 15 touchscreen problem

    hi there,
so i have a new Flex 15 and touchscreen doesnt work out of the box. the screen looks fine and views fine. the Flex 15 came preinstalled with Windows 8. i have done a clean installation of Windows 8.1 to see if that solves the problem and installed all windows 8.1 drivers from Lenovo, same issue, the touchscreen is unresponsive.
i doubt its a hardware issue as the screen looks completely fine, but what can i do to make it work?

I too have a new Flex 15  ( 8.1 windows) with an increasingly dead touchscreen. It seems to require several minutes of warm up to register touch screen actions after returning from sleep or hibernation. Full shut down and rebooting sometimes restores touch but even that is a crap shoot. You will read from others of trying driver updates, disabling power settings, reloading windows, complete wipe reloads, but ney, try as you will, there's a software bug. Most likely has something to do with windows 8.1. from I've researched.
Lenovo is silent on this issue, but the boards are filling up with lost- touch win 8.1 machines.
Meanwhile, do we wait or return our Flex-no-touch laptops?
I have less than a week for 30-day Return. Decision time Lenovo.

  • Q10 touchscreen problem

    Greetings,
One day my phone dies and i put it away for the night. Next morning the touchscreen stopped working. Couldn't swipe, did not respond to touch, nothing.
I did a factory restore still the same problem and i'm stuck in the initial setup screen.
I figured it was the screen itself the issue, so I ordered a new LCD screen and installed it today. I STILL HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM.
After 6 hours of trying to get this thing to work i gave up. This is super frusterating as i've been with blackberry forever and now this comes up.
Does anyone else have any suggestions?
I've tried shutting it off, removing battery, reinstalling os,, replacing LCD,  now i'm stuck in the setup screen.
    Thanks

It should. It reloads the OS to the device from scratch. Any data that is on the device will be lost, however.

  • IPhone 5 Touchscreen Problems

Just unboxed the iPhone 5 and for the most part it's great.  But one big problem has been occurring with the touchscreen, which I've heard is new (integrated with the display itself versus a separate capacitive layer as in past iPhones).  I'm curious if anyone else has been having this issue or has any suggestions on what to do...
The touchscreen acts up by "sensing" my finger even when it's not actually touching the screen, but is just very close.  This happens gradually at first, then it seems to get a little worse, requiring me to use more exaggerated gestures to actually get the phone to do what I want it to do.  Eventually the phone will just respond to my hand waving above it even several millimeters above the screen, and seems to go haywire.  It starts missing the letter/button that I'm trying to type.  Sometimes the whole screen freezes to where I can't swipe to unlock, slide between home screen pages, etc.  Although the physical buttons like the home button and standby button do seem to still respond despite the touchscreen being messed up or frozen, it doesn't get rid of the problem when I go back to what I was doing.
Eventually, I end up resetting the phone by holding down both the standby and home buttons simultaneously for a few seconds.  When the device powers on again, it seems to have done the trick and the touchscreen is back to normal.  However, the problem reoccurs with a fairly high/annoying level of frequency.  (I mean I've only had the device for a few hours total and it's already happened at least half a dozen times.)
Has anyone else experienced this?  Does this sound like I have a lemon or could this be a general issue?  I wonder if it can be fixed with a software patch or if I need a replacement screen/device.  Pretty frustrating to deal with right out of the box, and I don't really want to go anywhere near an Apple Store today with all the craziness that's probably taking place...

I spent about 1 hr on the phone with the people from apple care.  Performed the following steps (most I had already performed on my own.):
    Soft Reset
    Hard Reset
    Factory Restore (from handset)
    Factory Restore (from iTunes)
Power down (several times, with case on and off)
None of this seemed to make any difference. After the restore the phone seemed to work for about five minutes before going back to doing the exact same thing.
I started experiencing the following issues almost directly after unboxing my iphone:
Can't press the button I intend to press.
If I hover my finger over the screen multiple buttons are pressed (as if I am touching the screen).
When I am able to press a button it often presses it multiple times.
Screen jumps or acts erratic when trying to scroll.
After the time I spent on the phone the apple care tech suggested that my fastest resolution would be to try and have the phone replaced at my local apple retail store.  He said that he could set up the replacement over the phone, but had no idea how long the replacement would take.  He also stated that I could continue to use my phone (which doesn't operate properly) until the new one arrives.
Hopefully the apple store has some units set aside for replacing/repairing the lemons that apple sent out.

  • Touchscreen Problems after Lollipop Update

Hello everyone, I remember that within the past year, there were maybe 5 occasions in which my Xperia Z touchscreen wouldn't react. After turning the screen off and on again, it would be fine again. Since the Lollipop update, this issue occurs 90% of the time. When I turn the screen on, the touch input doesn't work at all. Sometimes, it will start working after I turn the screen off and on several times. Somtimes a full restart of the phone does the trick. However, once the touch input is working, it works perfectly as long as the screen stays on. Is this behaviour typical for a hardware defect and the occurrence after the update is just coincidence? (which, for me, would be somewhat hard to believe...) Or is there anything on the software side that I should do/try? Many thanks and best regards, Philipp

Please read my previous posts and see why I’m very unhappy with “my” Sony.http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Reboot-loop-in-Xperia-ZL-after-update-to-Lollipop/m-p/993700#M57879http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Reboot-loop-in-Xperia-ZL-after-update-to-Lollipop/td-p/992453/page/3http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z-ZL-ZR/Reboot-loop-in-Xperia-ZL-after-update-to-Lollipop/m-p/997325#M58418 I think that Sony is behind the faults in the systems, because they noticed that many of their users do not live in the country where they bought their phone. Sony wasn't happy that people shop globally, losing market share in the country they live in today. The decision to mess up these smartphones during an update is easy - they know your IMEI. I find it hard to believe a global company would be so desperate to try to sell new smartphones, to gain market share. Yet, it appears to be the case, even for customers who bought a phone in the country they live in, apparently a parallel imported one. The fact Sony only uses PCC and abandoned SUS (Update service) - where downgrades were possible – in July 2014 only enhances that impression. The lack of support from Sony adds to the conclusion that Sony is unethically blocking smartphones.   Sign in via my link to change this: https://secure.avaaz.org/en/petition/Sony_Mobile_Division_Sony_solve_the_problems_with_updates_that_block_foreign_smartphones/?ejpryjb
