UA support for cursor properties

I would like a unique style for links to the articles section
of a site and
I was wondering if I could try a small image and if FF and IE
would support
that and if not, just default to the pointer image.
I can't get them to accept an image (may have styled it
incorrectly) - is
there a list somewhere of browser support for cursor
properties?
I suppose I could use a bg image or colour, etc on the hover,
but kinda
liked using a small icon for the cursor instead.
Cheers,
Lossed
__when the only tool you have is a hammer, everything looks
like a nail __

tks Gary,
Well, here goes:
FF seems to accept many file types, including .png, .cur, and
regular image
filetypes, but NOT .ani.
IE seems to accept only .cur or .ani.
If I make a 16 x 16 cursor, FF displays it as such.
IE blows it up to 32 x 32 (so I need to make it 32 x 32 and
have more
transparent area).
FF resolves the path as per normal - relative to the position
of the css
file in the file heiracy.
IE doesn't! It seems to resolve the relative path to the
cursor image as it
it's relative to the document the css is imported into, not
relative to the
css file itself.
That is why my cursor files weren't showing in IE - when I
change the path
to root relative or absolute, IE shows the cursor. Just why
it does this for
cursor images and (thank goodness) no other images called
from within the
css file, I have no idea.
And all this for just IE and FF on PC.
How other UA's and platforms treat cursor images is unclear.

  • Support for "transient properties" in Toplink

    Hi,
    (JHeadstart 9.0.4.5 with Toplink)
    When I add unmapped properties to the beans that are mapped through Toplink to the tables in my database, almost like transient attributes in BC4J View Objects, I run into a problem, caused by the
    <code>getAttributeAsString(Locale locale,String attributeName</code> method in oracle.jheadstart.model.toplink.handler.DataObjectImpl. In 9.0.4.5, this method was modified to cater for these situations, because previously such properties resulted in NullPointerExceptions. However, the current implementation - while not throwing exceptions - does not return the value of the transient property, which I would prefer it to do.
    My suggestions is to change the lines:
    <code>
    if (mapping==null)
    mLog.error("No Toplink mapping found for attribute " + descriptorClass.getClass().getName()+"."+newName);
    return "";
    </code>
    to:
    <code>
    if (mapping==null)
    mLog.error("No Toplink mapping found for attribute " + descriptorClass.getClass().getName()+"."+newName);
    return value;
    </code>
    best regards,

    Lucas,
    Thanks for the suggestion.
    We will look into it.

  • Support for HTML and CSS properties

    My biggest frustration with Acrobat Pro 9 is that it dropped support for certain HTML and/or CSS properties that were available in Acrobat Pro 8. In particular, the page-break-before attribute no longer works, nor does colspan. When I convert an HTML table with some colspans into a PDF, the table looks okay to the naked eye, but the structure behind the table (PDF tags) is incorrect.
    I can live without the page breaks, but I need colspan. I need to do this for hundreds of tables, so opening the Acrobat Table Editor and fixing the colspan by hand is not an option. A scripting/programming solution is required. Has anyone found a workaround? Does Acrobat X fix this problem?

    hello
    not trying to hijack the thread but needed some clarification
    your very short tutorial
    http://alt-web.blogspot.com/2012/11/primer-for-using-jquery-plug-ins.h tml
    was really informative. Just have a couple quick questions:
    you state:
    "the core code library which you ref in your <head> tags,"
    the below code just has to be declared ONCE at the beging in your head section, correct?
    <!-- jQuery latest core library from CDN-->
    <script type="text/javascript" src="http://code.jquery.com/jquery-latest.min.js">
    </script>
    then any number of jquery plugin scripts can be placed in ANY order in your head section following the above code, correct?
    "the function code inside <script> tags to invoke the plug-in."
    so then in the body, does the functions code have to come RIGHT AFTER the place it is being used?
    example
    <body>
    <div class="slideshow1"
    </div>
    <!--Plug-In Function Code1-->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    </script>
    <div class="slideshow2"
    </div>
    <!--Plug-In Function Code2-->
    <script type="text/javascript">
    </script>
    </body>
    or can you take all the function codes and paste them in the end outside of the respective divs that are using the code?
    ie does the position of the code matter?\
    thanks guys

  • Will REF CURSOR support for Oracle Forms 6i?

    Hi,
    I need to use ref cursor in my from. My cursor query should be dynamically append the "where clause". Hence I used the dynamic query with ref cursor.
    But my problem is , when I compile the form it gives error for the line " OPEN emp_record FOR l_query;"
    You need to use "select" statement.
    Is there any solution for this in forms?
    I know it supports for other PL/SQL areas.
    Please help me. below is my code sample,
      DECLARE
    TYPE emp_refcur IS REF CURSOR;
    emp_record    emp_refcur;
    TYPE rec_emp_data IS RECORD
        emp_no              VARCHAR2(40),
      emp_rec             rec_emp_data;
      l_query               VARCHAR2(4000);
    BEGIN
         l_query := 'SELECT empno
                     FROM emp ';
          IF :CONTROL.ename IS NOT NULL THEN
              l_query := l_query||' AND ename = '''||:CONTROL.ename||''' ';
          END IF;
         OPEN emp_record FOR l_query;
         LOOP
            FETCH emp_record INTO emp_rec;
            EXIT WHEN emp_record%NOTFOUND;
           dbms_output.put_line(emp_rec.emp_no);
        END LOOP;
        CLOSE emp_record;
    END;      Thanks

    Hi,
    It's been a while since I used Forms 6i, but I remember hitting a similar problem. I don't think (and stress think!) that the PLSQL engine that comes with Forms 6i recognises ref_cursors.
    The work-around I used was to move the functionality to the database and call it from forms.
    Hope this helps.
    Regards
    Ian

  • Native error code -2147217887 0x80040e21 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: ODBC driver does not support the requested properties.

    I configured MySQL in TestStand and making a query in TestStand like this:
    Command :=> "SELECT *  FROM crc_table ; " or  "SELECT CRC_Value  FROM crc_table ; " returns the total number of records without any errors.
    But when I add the "where" clause
    "SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= Locals.File_ID and crc_table.Version_ID = Locals.Version_ID and crc_table.Link_ID = Locals.Link_ID; "
    I get the error as:
    Error, The following SQL command failed: 'SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= Locals.File_ID and crc_table.Version_ID = Locals.Version_ID and crc_table.Link_ID = Locals.Link_ID; ...' Native error code -2147217887 0x80040e21 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers: ODBC driver does not support the requested properties. [Error Code: -10, User-defined error code.]
    I tried the same syntax in MySQL Query Browser and got the correct result:
    SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID= "FID1" and crc_table.Version_ID = "VID1" and crc_table.Link_ID = "L1";
    I would appreciate your help.
    Thank you,
    Vidula

    Vidula,
    I am not completely sure if this is the cause of the error but it is something that will cause problems if it is not fixed.  In your SQL statement you must properly concatenate your strings with your variables.  In the statement you posted you were simply putting the variable names in the string, not actually pulling their values.  To do so properly your query should look something like this:
    "SELECT crc_table.CRC_Value  FROM crc_table where crc_table.File_ID='"+Locals.File_ID+"' and crc_table.Version_ID = '"+ Locals.Version_ID+"' and crc_table.Link_ID = '"+Locals.Link_ID+"' ;"
    This way we are using the values of the variables in conjunction with the text strings.  In this case the usage of single quotes (') casts the variables as strings so you may need to change this character sequence, but from the second example you gave I think that your variables are of type string so this should work fine.

  • MST Support for MacBook Pro Retina Late 2013 - DisplayPort 1.2 - Will it ever happen? (with sources)

    So back in October, I purchased a brand new Macbook Pro Retina (MBPr), fully loaded with top of the line specs.  I was soooo excited to have Thunderbolt 2 tech which Intel AND Apple describes as having DisplayPort 1.2a compatibility - which up to this point is unfortunately NOT the case.  The point of the information/questions and requests in this article is to engage a conversation about the issues of not having MST support after Apple falsely mislead their consumers to think otherwise - especially when it is clear the MBPr is capable.  Please read on...
    Apple advertises that the Thunderbolt 2 ports on BOTH the MBPr and the new Mac Pro (NMP) will have 4K Display support with the famed 20gb/sec Ports (DisplayPort 1.2 only requires a little above 17gb/sec).  Now that the 10.9.1 update has been released, we have failed to see MST or Multi-Stream Transport enabled on the MBPr Late 2013.  Now, as for the New Mac Pro- it DOES have MST enabled in 10.9.1 with the AMD GPUs.  For all of you out there that's questioning what this means, short answer is basically the Mac Pro will be able to power a 4K Monitor at 60Hz through the Thunderbolt 2 Port but the New MBPr is stuck with only HDMI 1.4 support which tops out at 4K 30Hz. 30Hz is unacceptable for anything but movies or a photo slideshow.  At 30Hz the cursor will jump across the screen, eliminating any of the benefits of 4K.
    BUT it gets worse...
    Apple can be seen advertising that the new MBPr 15" model can power a 4K monitor THROUGH the Thunderbolt 2 Port here: http://www.apple.com/thunderbolt - This article quotes the following:
    "Now with Thunderbolt 2 built into the new Mac Pro and MacBook Pro with Retina display, you can connect the latest 4K desktop displays and get double the bandwidth for your peripherals. And the two generations of Thunderbolt technology are compatible with each other."
    Does this not let the consumer assume that the newest MBPr will be able to drive a 4K display through the Thunderbolt 2 Port?  I would say yes it does, but at the time I wrote this, the TB2 Ports can't power a 4K display because, as previously stated, MST is disabled in Mavericks for the 15" MBPr Late 2013.
    NOW, later on Apple posted the following article on 4K support here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT6008
    4K support on the MacBook Pro (Retina, Late 2013)
    MacBook Pro supports 4K displays and Ultra HD TVs at the following resolutions and refresh rates with the built-in HDMI port:
    3840 x 2160 at 30 Hz refresh rate
    4096 x 2160 at 24 Hz refresh rate (mirroring is not supported at this resolution)
    In the article above the New Mac Pro is listed as having support for a 4K Display with the Thunderbolt 2 Port (or MST DisplayPort 1.2a Technology) at 60Hz with no problem.  This leads myself and many others to believe that MST will NEVER be enabled on the newest MacBook Pro Retina with Nvidia GPUs. Yes, 4K IS supported but ONLY through the HDMI 1.4 port, which has the limitation of only 30hz.  This two-faced advertising is extremely upsetting to a LOT of people, including myself.
    Interestingly enough, THIS IS NOT a hardware issue.  If one ventures into Windows 8.1 via Bootcamp and connects a 4K Display via the Thunderbolt 2 (or through DP1.2) Port, the Display registers at 60Hz, thus proving that the Thundberbolt 2 Hub Controller is completely capable of MST DisplayPort functionality.  Clearly this a driver issue with Apple, Nvidia or Intel or any combination.  What Apple has done here is forcing any professional that desires stable and clear 4K technology through their MacBook Pro Retina to do so only using Windows 8.1 on their own machines!  Definitely an oxymoron if you ask me...
    Later on when the Mac Pro was ready for ordering, Apple placed the Sharp PN-K321 as a compatible option for a 4K Display.  On the Store page featuring the (over three thousand dollar) Sharp 4K display, located here http://store.apple.com/us/product/HD971LL/A/sharp-32-pn-k321-4k-ultra-hd-led-mon itor?fnode=53 Apple states the following:
    "Note that 4K DisplayPort operation is only compatible with the new Mac Pro (Late 2013)."
    All of that being said, and I'm terribly sorry for my wordy ranting...
    This brings me to a final two requests to ANYONE reading this post:
    a) Has anyone working with the new 10.9.2 Beta Update seen evidence that DisplayPort 1.2 capabilities will be enabled for the new MacBook Pro Retina (Nvidia 750M) with the promised "Graphics Driver Updates" within the next Mavericks update?
    and
    b) To others that purchased or were/are thinking of purchasing a new MacBook Pro Retina with TB2 Ports: If you are just as upset as me about this crushing blow to consumers that just purchased a $3,000 laptop that were promised something that wasn't delivered - I urge you please, write to Apple and let them know they are making a mistake.  You can do this though the support page or through http://www.apple.com/feedback
    Thank you for your precious time, and if anyone has anything to contribute to this issue, please jump in....

    GOOD NEWS!
    The Mavericks 10.9.3 update adds official support for Thunderbolt 2, 4K!
    I'm not sure if you will be able to daisy chain anything to the 4K display.  I've read that the design of Thunderbolt 2 includes support for DisplayPort 1.2 multi-stream (MST), which allows this type of daisy chaining with 4K, but we don't know if Apple has this supported on it's machines.  Apparently it's been buggy in development because the graphics driver needs to work correctly with the Thunderbolt 2 host controller.  I'm sure they will work it out if they haven't already.
    The above is all via found information on this topic, but you can follow some more discussion here:
    http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1713876
    One more note on Thunderbolt worth sharing: always keep your fastest peripherals closer to the computer in the chain. If you have a TB1 device directly connected to the computer, anything further down the chain will be limited to TB1 speed/capability regardless of it's native speed.  Always connect TB2 devices first, and save anything TB1 for the end of the chain.

  • No script engine supported for 'JScript' error in OBIEE 11G ibots

    Infrastructure: 64 bit OBIEE 11.1.1.5 on 64 bit Red-Hat Enterprise Linux 5.6
    We tried using *.java to export the delivery content of an 'Agent' and place it in a shared folder on Windows.
    We are able to use the .java file directly in putty and it works fine in creating a folder and copying the file from source to target, but when we put the same script as part of the actions in the 'Agent' properties, its fails with the error "[nQSError: 66023] No script engine supported for 'JScript'". The e-mail is triggered and the attachment is delivered fine.
    We tried the same with a *.js file. The error is the same. I found people using *.js scripts and they say it worked for them at Re: How to send the content of an agent (PDF Report) to local machine in 11g
    But I am not sure what are the other settings that should be done. The error seems very basic and fundamental and has something to do with java interpreter or something.
    Any help if you have implemented the same, would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks!

    That example in the link shows creating an action at the end of 'Agent'. I am not sure if that is what the user meant by 'create an action'. If the user meant to create an 'action', how does and where we call that action at the end of an 'Agent'?
    I did try creating an action by updating the 'UserScript.js' file, but the moment i update the file with a custom function, the server doesnot recognise the UserScript.js file anymore and i cannot even use the default functions in UserScript.js file.

    I am posting a solution found for own business laptop (HP 8540W & 8760W) so WebSearch engines index/register it in a few days - future sufferers come here and get a SOLUTION, finally.  Disreagrd previous "experts" advises, they don't work 100% & pity on TechSupport folks who get HP paychecks yet don't know products their co. designs/manufactures (on deep Technical level):
    Below is a SOLUTION (WORKING) !
    Go into Services (Run "services.msc" or get there thru ControlPanel-->AdminTools-->), find following 2 services ==> make sure they're running, chances are they're NOT (as in my case I keep them disabled unless need running):
    1) "HP Software Framework"
    2) "HP Service" [no typo - a real plain name]
    If not running, set Properties-->Manual and click "Start", make sure both are running.
    Rerun BIOS updater, choose option for "Within Windows" or something to that effect (using HPQ/ROMpaq updater), rather than "create USB BootDisk on Key", this time it should work without the hassle of a BootDisk creation.
    Should work from within Windows environment.
    Notes:
    a) Likely only one (1) service is responsible - namely "HP Software Framework" for HPQ Updater to fail, but doesn't hurt to reenable/restart both services.
    I in fact am responding to other customers who elect to Update BIOS within Windows, perhaps oldfashioned but to me Boot Updater is more natural & always works regardless of WMI Support.
    b) After done, don't forget:
    *) Recheck BIOS settings - update may've added new and/or changed old, so rescan tobe sure.
    **) Go BACK into Windows-->Services.msc & redisable both aforementioned Services if were originally disabled; or you're a computer Pro, you know what you're doing & like me keep all HP services disabled.  The ones we got on EliteBook 8760W are pests consuming system resources, you just enable "Software Framework" when occasional issues emerge with HP softupdate (typically no issues) & redisable after use, rest of services are bloatware - some attempt to overrun Windows Wireless console, some seekout HP Networked printers (Ethernet, Wireless, but not USB), some do this & that - I study/know which one does what and decided to disable all. This is called a "minimalist" philosophy & turns your machine into a fast beast, I recently sold a very obsolete 4-year laptop which however handles 3DMCAD & complex designs/simulations, better new machines out fo a store, as new machines are loaded w/bloatware chocking down resources.
    BUT nobody is requiring you to disable anything though.
    The solution merely states the fact:
    These 2 (or 1) services when not running halt BIOS Update "within Windows" (you can still run "BootDisk option", however, if preferred).
    Simply restartung them solves your problem.  Usually
    Ya'll have a good day and enjoy!
    ===========
    BELOW ARE IMPORTANT WARNINGS:
    1) IF YOUR BIOS UPDATE STILL FAILS, SOME OTHER PIECE IN WMI SUPPORT IS MISSING - IN MY CASE WAS THESE 2 SERVICES, BUT THERE'S REMOTE POSSIBILITY SOMETHING ELSE MIGHT BLOCK UPDATER.  DON'T WASTE TIME & CHOOSE "USB/BootDisk" options instead
    2) Once BIOS updater does its job, will ask to auto-restart - let it go on & complete, it will self-shutdown (click "Next" to skip 60-second timer), then do NOT turn it on manually!, wait - it'll turn on by itself in 15 seconds, let it boot into Windows, you're done!
    3) WARNING: close other apps before proceeding, be 100% sure your ACpower won't be interrupted or better yet - make sure battery is in/charged (so if ACpower accidentally disconnects, you're autoswitched onto battery) b/c power loss may result in severe damage to internal hardware.  In the old days it'd result in fatal damage, these days powerloss would still result in a major repair (ROM chip corruption).
    So to summarize: those 2 services I specified, are often responsible for whether HPQ/ROMpaq will or won't run.
    Other causes possible, but I've not witnessed; and if so - choose BootDisk option.

  • PI 7.0 SP 11 support oracle cursor ?

    Hi
    Does PI 7.0 SP 11 support oracle cursor ? Because i need to send multiple rows data to oracle store procedure.
    Where do i have to search about the information how to call oracle store procedure with ref cursor input
    Regards
    Fernand

    Thank you Raj,
    I manage to calling store procedure with normal input (single), but then still got problem to supply data to store proc with input CURSOR.
    Base on link that you send me, i get this line out
    "CURSOR (output; only in conjunction with the Oracle JDBC driver)." is it meaning that JDBC adapter does not support CURSOR for input ? even SP 11 ?
    This is my sample oracle store procedure :
    CREATE OR REPLACE PACKAGE DB2_PAYSLIP IS
    CURSOR c_details IS SELECT '' in_nogaji
              , '' in_jenis
              , '' in_no
              , '' in_deskripsi
              , '' in_jumlah
         FROM DUAL;
    TYPE ct_details  IS REF CURSOR RETURN c_details%ROWTYPE;
    END;
    CREATE OR REPLACE PROCEDURE proc_ins_payslip(in_cur IN OUT db2_payslip.ct_details) IS
    v_in db2_payslip.c_details%ROWTYPE;
    BEGIN
          LOOP
                FETCH in_cur INTO v_in;
               INSERT INTO PAYSLIP_DETAIL VALUES(v_in.in_nogaji,v_in.in_jenis,v_in.in_no,v_in.in_deskripsi,v_in.in_jumlah);
               EXIT WHEN in_cur%NOTFOUND;
          END LOOP;
          CLOSE in_cur;
          COMMIT;
    END;

    Sorry, Al, but I couldn't disagree more.  Where I respect the fact that, as coders, we're rather ingrained with our workflow processes and, at times, hesitant to change, I've found LESS' benefits to be very worthwhile.
    No need to apologize. Preprocessing is a topic on which there are differing opinions. You have one. I have one. There are advocates:
    http://blog.urbaninsight.com/2012/04/12/ten-reasons-you-should-be-using-css-preprocessor
    There are those who are not sold:
    http://blog.millermedeiros.com/the-problem-with-css-pre-processors/

    There are those mostly sold:
    http://css-tricks.com/musings-on-preprocessing/
    There are even those who have been converted (but who might reverse at some later point):
    http://cognition.happycog.com/article/preprocess-this
    Heck, even I might be converted someday - or not
    Bottom line for me, right now? I know I can write CSS that is better than most, more efficient than most, and easier to follow than most, and a preprocessor would add unwanted complexity. But that's for me. For someone not able to be organized intutively, or for a large - but carefully coordinated - team, a preprocessor could be a positive.
    But not for me.
    There are evolving trends - popular aspects of the technology that may and should find themselves being adapted into CSS. But I've been around this business as long as CSS has. I've seen buzzwords and trends and I've historically been spot-on in predicting the one that will stick. I think preprocessing will stick - but only insofar as it will be a catalyst for features in future versions of CSS. As a separate technology it makes no sense - to me

  • Queries on Mac OS X support for Java 1.3

    Hi All
    I am having some trouble figuring out how to make Swing based Applets
    work on Mac OS X. Can anybody help me ?
    Queries on Mac OS X support for Java 1.3
    1) Will a Java Applet compiled using Java 1.3 run on "Mac OS X" without the need for a Plugin.? This includes Applets using Swing since we compiled using 1.3.
    2) I tried to run some Java 1.3 applets compiled using 1.3.1-04.
    Unfortunately, the Applets wouldn't run.
    Is there some setting in Mac OS X that i need to change or modify for the Applet to work ?
    3) When i open a Terminal in Mac OS X and type Java -version, i get
    "------ Java 1.3---------".
    This implies that Mac OS X supports the Java 1.3 SDK. Does it imply that it supports the runtime as well since this is usually the case ?.
    If it supports the runtime, then does this inculde support for Swing.
    Finally, as i enquired in '(1)' does this mean that i do not need any plugin(MRJ) to make Swing based applets work.
    Thanks and regards
    Prashanth

    @John - no luck on the plugin angle. In checking both JDev installs that previously had the problems, they have the default extensions.
    @Dave - at the time I can't say we noticed any migration notices, we certainly didn't see the migration dialog though. However the application in SVN was built on the same version of JDev so I don't expect a migration to find any changes anyhow.
    However on your second point we always check out into an empty directory, as we're checking out the whole application. As such if as you say the migration utilities is always called, shouldn't that mean we always see the projects modified? We certainly don't, we're on a day by day basis checking out whole applications to different directories and we don't see that behaviour.
    In turn reconsidering the modified .jpr file, from what I saw it looks to me that the whole project file is re-set to it's original state. Initially the problem detected was the libraries attached to the project were gone so we couldn't compile, but in close inspection it seems the whole .jpr file has been modified to a rather vanilla setup.
    One thing I can say when we originally experienced the problem (and from memory this was true in the dim dark past when it also occurred another time), is it was a check out from a SVN tags directory, not the trunk. In thinking about it, it may be the first check out from the tags directory that we see the issue. However to get around the issue we just revert the project file in the tags directory, we don't actually change the SVN repository code (ie. commit), so the issue should keep occurring. Yet at the moment if we check out the same tags directory, the issue doesn't occur?
    Hmmm?
    Btw Dave, are you an Oracle employee?

  • Support for Array Binding and PL/SQL tables (IN, INOUT, or OUT)

    I have attempted, unsuccessfully, to use array binding in stored procedure/function calls where the sp/sf has parameters that are PL/SQL tables. I have seen the topic floating around in this forum, but I have not seen the explicit questions:
    - Does ODP.NET support PL/SQL tables as IN, INOUT or OUT parameters to stored procedures/functions?
    - Will any planned ODP.NET release support PL/SQL tables as IN, INOUT or OUT parameters to stored procedures/functions?
    I am aware that I can use REF CURSORS to handle the OUT situation, but I need to make a design decision concerning supporting parameters of IN and INOUT PL/SQL tables.
    Thanks.
    James

    You really MUST do this!! - i.e. include support for PL/SQL table parameters (IN INOUT and OUT) in a future release of ODP.NET.
    PL/SQL tables are a fundamental type in Oracle stored procedures and you will be preventing a huge number of existing projects from migrating to .NET if you don't acknowledge them as part and parcel of Oracle programming.
    I sincerely hope support for PL/SQL table parameters is treated as a serious issue.
    Think what a coup it would be for you over Microsoft (who don't currently support PL/SQL tables with their .NET native provider for Oracle and don't look as if they will at least in the short term)!
    Please, please, please!
