UAG 2010 SP3 - OWA Exchange 2010 - Large attachments fail to open

We have a UAG 2010 SP3 server in front of Exchange 2010 CAS. On the UAG side we have disabled the component installation and activation for UAG within the session configuration. When users access OWA and open attachments it works fine up until a certain
size of an attachment. Somewhere around 10MB we are unable to download externally from OWA. At that point when clicking on the attachment a "The page cannot be displayed" is received.
Attachments of sizes larger than 10MB are able to be opened internally accessing the CAS directly. Under the Download/Upload configuration of the OWA application in UAG Identify by URL is checked for both (Uploads has Identify by size but Download
is unchecked).
Is there a limitation on UAG to OWA download size? Is there any other configuration that should be checked to alleviate this issue?

  • Migration from Exchange 2007 SP3 to Exchange 2010

    Hello,
We are planning a single server migration from Exchange 2007 SP3 to Exchange 2010.  I'll be building the 2010 server on a 2008 R2 box. My question is, can I make the jump directly to Exchange 2010 SP3, or do I need to install exchange 2010 SP1 first
    - migrate from 2007 SP3, and then install SP3 for exchange 2010 later?
    Thanks,
    Eric

    @ Hasan
    Dimdik - TAT,
That's not correct at all, you can migrate exchange server 2007 SP3 and RollUp Update 10 minimum to Exchange Server 2013 with minimum CU1.

  • Installing SP3 on Exchange 2010 - Error

    Hi,
I'm getting an error message when trying to install SP3 on Exchange 2010.
I am currently running: Exchange 2010 SP1 - Windows Server 2008 Ent.  2 nodes, DAG
"The server side error is: 0x21a2 The FSMO role ownership could not be verified because its directory partition has not replicated successfully with at least one replication partner."
So I ran dcdiag, and sure enough I get a replication error, several of them actually:
"The failure occurred at 2014-02-11 13:54:23.
The last success occurred at 2013-05-30 00:51:00.
32 failures have occurred since the last success.
[Replications Check,EXCHANGE2010] A recent replication attempt failed:
                From EXCHANGE2010-2 to EXCHANGE2010
                Naming Context: CN=Schema,CN=Configuration,DC=mydomainname,DC=lcl
The replication generated an error (8614):
The directory service cannot replicate with this server because the time since the last replication with thi
s server has exceeded the tombstone lifetime."
The thing I'm not understanding is this: When I check the EMC looking at the DAG tab, it looks as though everything with the DAG is fine. Also, when I check the Organization Config->Mailbox, both copies of the Database seem to be Healthy.
So, I guess what I'm asking is what can be causing this error message and what steps can I take to try to fix it? I'm not an expert at this, which I guess is clear since I'm posting here!
    Thanks,
    mike

    Thanks DarDevil,
Before you replied I came across an article that suggested I could force a replication.
So I ran the command they listed:  ‘repadmin /syncall /AeD
It seemed to have worked, as I am now able to install SP3, which was the thing I was trying to do all along. I'm testing SP3 on this test system before I install on production.
Any particular reason not to run the force replication command above?  Before running the command, I put in a registry key that would allow it according to another article I read. I have since removed the key.
HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\NTDS\Parameters\Allow Replication With Divergent and Corrupt Partner
    Thanks!

  • Cross forest migration Exchange 2010 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP2

    Hi,
We are planning cross forest migration Exchange 2010 SP2 to Exchange 2010 SP2.
Requesting you to please help us out for below scenario.
    Source Exchange 2010 SP2:- abc.com
    2AD, 2CAS & 2 MBX servers
    Database:- 4
    Total Users :- 3500
    Accepted Domains :- 8
    Total Data:- 5TB +
    Target Exchange 2010 SP2:- xyz.com
    Resource allocated same as above.
Now we have to migrate users along with data to target forest xyz.com keeping both setup live, as moving 5TB + data will be a ongoing process and the same will take some time.
    With the guidelines mentioned in
http://careexchange.in/cross-forest-migration-guide-exchange-2010-to-exchange-2010/#comment-14203 we are able to migrate test users along with data, but after migration the migrated user is not able to connect through MS Outlook even not able to login into
OWA. It gives error “The Outlook Web App address
    https://mail.abc.com/owa is out of date.”
Kindly let us know how to solve this issue.
Kindly let me know if you want any more information from our end.
    Thanks in advance.
    Thanks and Regards, Shashank Kudi

    Hi Shashank,
Do you have certificates properly installed and configured in the target Exchange?
If not, Please configure certificate and import the certificate to the trusted root CA if you are using internal CA cert.
    Thanks, MAS

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 OWA with certificate based authentication

    Hi,
I have a bizarre problem in my customer’s environment. Maybe someone has an idea.
Exchange 2010 with SP3, latest cumulative Update installed.
The problem I’m having is that when I enable Certificate based authentication (require client certificate option in IIS) on OWA and ECP virtual directories in conjunction with forms based authentication (this is the requirement – the user
must have a client certificate and type in username and password to log in to OWA), the result is that after the user selects the certificate he wants to use, he is logged into OWA automatically, but cannot use the website, because it’s being constantly automatically
refreshed (or redirected to itself or something like that). The behavior occurs with all users, with any browser. If client certificate is on required, forms based authentication works just fine. If I switch to “Basic Authentication” and enable client certificate
requirement, then OWA act’s as it should be – so no problems. The problem only occurs when authentication type is forms based and client certificates are required.
I have tried the exact same settings (as far as I can tell) on one other production server and one test server, and encountered no such problems.
    Anyone – any ideas?

    Hi McWax,
According to your description and test, I understand that all accounts cannot login OWA when select require client certificate.
Is there any error message when open OWA or login? For example, return error ”HTTP error: 403 - Forbidden”. Please post relative error for further troubleshooting.
I want to confirm which authentication methods are used for OWA, Integrated Windows authentication or Digest authentication? More details about it, for your reference:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb430796(v=exchg.141).aspx
If you select another authentication method, please check whether Client Certificate Mapping Authentication services is installed, and also enabled in IIS, please refer to:
    http://www.iis.net/configreference/system.webserver/security/authentication/clientcertificatemappingauthentication
To prevent firewall factor, please try to sign in OWA at CAS server. Besides, I find a FAQ about certificate:

  • Exchange 2010 SP3 - Delayed emails with XLSM attachments...

Running Exchange 2010 SP3 Rollup 5.  Clients running Windows 7 and Office 2010 Pro Plus SP2.  Have one specific user / client that when sending emails with an XLSM attachment around 5:30AM, the email is delayed getting to the Exchange server and
is delayed up to 16 hours.  Unfortunately, this is a random occurrence, and not necessarily easy to duplicate.
The Sent Items on the Outlook client reflect the correct sent time, but the Message Tracking Log on the Exchange server shows the server did not receive the email until approximately 12 to 16 hours later.
The desktop is a shared system and this issue appears to be isolated to the user's profile, AD account, or Exchange.  I've literally blown away the users local profile and reconfigured it with no resolution.
    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
    Fuel

    Hi,
Please verify whether there is any error/warning/information message left in App log. If yes, please paste the details without sensitive information.
I suggest re-send a .xlsm attachment for testing to verify whether it delays.
    Thanks

    Hi RicChapman,
From the event log files, I recommend you do as follows to check the result.
    1.disabling all the exchange services
2.clearing both the apps and system logs
    3.restarting the server
    4.reinstall the Exchange 2010 SP3

  • Outlook 2010 not showing Exchange 2010 archives, OWA does.

We have activated Exchange 2010 archives for all users but most of them are not showing up in their Outlook, but everyone can see them in OWA.
Office 2010 Standard - MAK licenses, 2 distinct keys
Majority of systems are Windows XP, some Vista and 7.
Through testing it seems to be a system problem. Using 3 test accounts I log onto various systems, some freshly reimaged, some pre-existing. The test account profiles were new to each system. Sometimes the archive folder would appear, sometimes it wouldn't,
but it was consistent per computer. Meaning that if the folder didn't appear for 1 person, it didn't show up for anyone on that specific computer.
Anybody know how to fix this? Am I missing a setting or registry key somewhere?
    Thank you for any help,
    Greg

Ok, just spent some time looking into this more, if you google "office 2010 suite and version comparison guide pdf" and locate the .pdf file and open it, on page 17 under
Managed E-Mail Folders & Retention Policy:
"Provide a secondary location for users to store their e-mail messages and
manage their mailbox quota with new online managed folders. Unlike localOutlook Data Files (PSTs), this information can be backed
up and managed by Exchange Server."  - is an Office Professional Plus feature only.
So, it would appear that we now not only have to purchase an enterprise CAL for Exchange, but Office Professional Plus as well so we can, I suspect, use the
one extra useful feature that most sys admins wanted Exchange 2010 SP1 for in the first place, which is so centrally manage e-mails and e-mail archives.  Whilst this may not be a big deal for larger companies, educational institutes
etc, as the sys admin for a small private business with 70 users, this extra cost hurts.  As for the lack of clarity - if you want to tie up Office versions with Exchange functionality, how about standardizing naming conventions - call the Exchange
CALs "standard" and "professional" to match the required Office clients, or rename Office Professional to Office Enterprise - either way, match up the client apps and CALs to make it clearer.

  • OWA Exchange 2010 and 2013 Co-Existance

    Hi All
I have 2 new Exchange 2013 Multi role servers in a test environment. I have setup the namespace's in the following way
    Communcal OWA URL - exchange.domain.co.uk/owa
    Server 2013 Boxes
OWA URL Internal and External - owa.domain.co.uk/owa
    Server 2010 Boxes
    OWA Internal - legacy.domain.co.uk
    OWA External - legacy.domain.co.uk
Authentication on Exchange 2010 boxes is set to basic, form based.
Authentication on Exchange 2013 boxes is set to basic and form based.
When users hit are exchange.domain.co.uk/owa it is sent to 2013 servers. This we then want to process all requests and proxy connections to 2010. Accessing a 2013 mailbox is fine, however 2010 users just get the message, opening mailbox, it then sticks on
Still Working on it for indefinite and never progress'.
Have tried removing the External URL from 2010 as I have seen suggested elsewhere but this makes no difference.
ECP address' match what OWA are and certificates include all 3 namespaces.
Many THanks in advance for any assistance

  • Unable to open Public Folders in Outlook or OWA (Exchange 2010)

Exchange 2010 Public folders can not be opened from Outlook or from OWA, in the ADIS I do not see Folder Hierarchies.  Under the public folder Management Console,i get an error that states "You cant perform this operation because public folder
database isnt mounted.  Please mount it and try afain,  It wsas running the command ger-publicfolder -getchildren -identity "\"-server 'MBXserver'"

Run "Get-PublicFolderDatabase" and see what it says the status of the database is.  This error implies that the database in offline.  You will also want to find the status of your public folder copies.
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Ft
    or
    Get-PublicFolder -Recurse | Export-Csv PublicFolderStatus.csv -NoTypeInformation
The first will work if you are checking a small number of folders, but you'll want the latter if you have many of them.

  • Calendar Sharing between 2 organisation Exchange 2010 SP3 and Exchange online with Federation Trust.

    Hi...
Our company is running Exchange Server 2010 SP3 Standart would like to have Shared calendar with organisation running with Exchange online.
We made a Federation trust between organisations and I checked that one certificate was installed and the rule for their domain was created. but when I try to share my calendar I always receive.
"Calendar sharing is not available with the following contacts because of permission settings on your network."
Name I took from GAL or input manually and always same. Forgot to mention that we migrated from Exchange 2003 to 2010 SP3 and all old exchange servers I removed. I tried everything that I know and read and nothing helped.
    Hope for your support.

    how can i fix this
    thanksin advance

    Hi,
Generally, status 301 means that the resource (page) is moved permanently to a new location. Please refer to Sneff_Gabor's suggetsion to check the Redirect setting s for OWA and ECP in IIS manager.
Additionally, please provide more information about your issue and collect any error logs for further troubleshooting.

  • How do I reinstall SP3 for Exchange 2010?

    Hello,
I am having some Exchange 2010 issues and am wanting to reinstall SP3, but when I try, I get an error:
    Some controls aren't valid:
Please select at least one server role to install.
All of the roles have been installed and I cannot even uninstall a role (greyed out)
I have version 14.3.132.002 of the SP.
    Please advise.
    Have a great day,
    Don

I had the same exact error when running "setup.com /mode:upgrade" to re-install Exchange 2010 SP3.
We never did have Unified Communications installed on our server - but when running the "setup.com /mode:upgrade" it will try to install UC - and fail with the error message that it could not find the file "UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi"
The answer to this is in the path, and here is the 2nd bug for re-installing Exchange 2010 SP3:
I had extracted my Exchange SP3 files to C:\Temp\Exchange2010SP3,  I browsed to the \en folder and sure enough, there was the file "UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi"  the full path to the file was
C:\Temp\Exchange2010SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi - however, the path in the error message stated it was looking for the file in a completely different path:
    C:\Users\administrator.IMA\Desktop\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi
The solution was to create a folder on the desktop called SP3, copy the contents of C:\temp\Exchange2010SP3 to the SP3 folder on the desktop, and then the installer will find the UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi file that it is looking for.
In your specific case - your installer was looking for the file in 'D:\Tools\Exchange 2010\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi' - which I'll bet was not the file path you were using to reinstall Exchange 2010 SP3.
    My exact error message:
    Unified Messaging Role: Failed
    Error:
    The following error was generated when "$error.Clear();
    install-MsiPackage -PackagePath $RolePackagePath -LogFile $RoleLogFilePath -UpdatesDir $RoleUpdatesDir -PropertyValues ("INSTALLDIR=`"" + $RoleInstallPath + "`" ESE=1");
" was run: "Couldn't open package 'C:\Users\administrator.IMA\Desktop\SP3\en\UMLanguagePack.en-US.msi'. This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package. Error code is 1619.".

  • Out of Office on OWA; Exchange 2010

We recently migrated from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2010 and were having issues with out of office.
OOF works fine in outlook but when you try and run it from OWA we get internal server error 500.  The OOF URL was pointing to the internal machine and we changed this to the outside and I can access it.
I saw something about rebuilding ECP but I don't know what this actually does so I haven't tried it yet.
    Any help would be apperciated

    Hi,
Based on the description, you couldn't turn on OOF in OWA and you got the error: internal server error 500. If I misunderstood your concern, please let me know.
OOF is based on the Exchange Web Services, if either the internal or external URL for the EWS is missing or incorrect, OOF will fail and other services may not work as expected.
Please check the URLs assigned to the web service virtual directory using the Get-WebServicesVirtualDirectory command.
If the issue persists, please post the error here for further analysis.
    Best regards,
