UB11B Windows XP (Sp1 & Sp2)
I'm having problems getting Windows XP Pro to load the driver for my UB11B Wireless Lan Adapter
Everytime I try (with both SP1 and now SP2) I get a Cannot Find a File Message and device manager reports it cannot load the driver.
Has ANYONE got this adapter to work successfully?
I've tried both the CD and the drivers from the web site

Thank you guys for your quick response.
However, I am not clear what you guys wanna say here, I simply want to know Which windows XP can I install on Macbook Pro (Laptop) using boot camp?
I will repeat what I already said given that you told us that you are running Lion on a newer MacBook Pro.
You should visit the Boot Camp forum https://discussions.apple.com/community/windows_software/boot_camp
And you should read the Boot Camp Help documents http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/
XP, regardless of version, is not going to work on a newer computer nor will it work if you are running Lion OS.

I am planning to install Microsoft XP on my Mac Pro 2011 using boot-camp. Since there are multiple versions available (Home, Professional, Pro with SP1, SP2, and SP3's etc…) I am finding hard to decide which one is the tested and best available option?
Also any other specific features to consider while purchasing this OS.
Please advise…Gurleen80 wrote:

The diagerr.xml has the two minidumps but they are just encoded straight into the xml file. Thanks for any assistance. /AshleyHi,
Generally such kind of issues are caused by third party programs such as CD burning programs, device driver etc.
First please refer to this article to see if there is anything helpful:
Guide for Upgrading to Windows Server 2008 R2
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff972408(v=ws.10).aspx
Meanwhile from the description, it mentioned a file under C:\Windows\winsxs. Check the permission of the folder amd64_microsoft-windows-servicingstack_31bf3856ad364e35_6.0.6002.18005_none_676975d87cc9b6e6 and the file wcp.dll to see if the permission
and ownership are correct compare with the other folders.
Also as it provided 2 minidump files, you will need to use WinDBG to read the minidump files and see if there is any further information.

Can I install Windows XP SP1 with Bootcamp on my new Mac Mini 2011 i7 ?
Can I install Windows XP SP1 with Bootcamp on my new Mac Mini 2011 i7 ?
Baiscally if your Mini came with Lion Pre-installed new then No you can't use XP.
The Lion installed computers no longer support XP OR Vista via Apple's Boot Camp.
For one thing Apple only supported XP with SP2 in order to install it on pre Lion computers.
If the Mini had come pre-installed new with say 10.6 then you could have installed XP and still of been able to upgrade to Lion without any issues as you already have the drivers for XP installed. Lion only has the drivers for W7. -
Wondering if possible to use Windows XP SP1 with Boot Camp
I just recently bought a mac a few days ago and i only have Windows XP SP1 cd. I was wondering if it was possible to run that instead of the Windows XP SP2 cd that it says in the requirements.
Not directly; you need to slipstream SP2 or use Parallels Desktop.

Hotfix Compatibility: KB2522807 - Windows Server 2008 SP2
Can someone explain why this
Hotfix is not compatible with Windows Server 2008 SP2 when it states this is one of the OS prerequisites? There only seems to be a download for Windows Vista, 7 and 2008 R2 but not 2008 Standard.
I am seeing this exact issue on 2008 SP2 so would be nice to have the fix for it.
Thanks.Hello,
according to
http://support.microsoft.com/hotfix/KBHotfix.aspx?kbnum=2522807&kbln=en-us this hotfix is for Windows Server 2008
R2 SP1

So I sat down last night to install this, and was part way into when I read the part about you must use XP SP2. I don't have SP2, so I decided to try it anyway. It did install, and booted up, however when I put the OS X disk in to install the drivers it says it needs a updated version to do it. I assume this is where you need SP2. The machine will not recognize an internet connection, so I cannot get online to update to SP2.
If I get the SP2 update on disk, can I install it that way and then be good to go or am I going to have to find a newer version of Windows XP with SP2 already in it?I have had long discussions with Apple today on this. My problem is somewhat different in that I bought SP3 and that cannot be installed using BC v.2.0 (you need v.2.10). I am having difficulty finding a copy (in the UK) of SP2. Apple advised that:
1. I need a full 32 bit version of SP2. SP1 will not work. (As you have discovered)
2. Updating SP1 to SP2 (disc or download) also will not work (as noted page 4 of BC v.2.0 Set up Guide)
3. And they suggested I try with SP3 anyway if I could not find a copy of SP2!! (Money down the drain if that does not work!! mine not theirs)
I am now looking at Vista (see separate message)
Good luck. -

Is anyone successfully running Essbase 9.3.1 on Windows Server 2003 SP2 ?
The documentation I have mentions only SP1, but we'd like to upgrade to SP2 providing no issues arise from doing so.
thanks,

Update WUA on Windows 7 SP1 Clients to 7.6.7600.320
Hi All
We have an SCCM 2012 R2 CU 2 environment with a CAS and a Primary Server
One SUP (SUP1) is connected to the internet and is used as upstream server for another SUP Server (SUP2) , our clients connect to SUP2
Our clients are all Windows 7 SP1 , the SUP servers run “Windows Server Update Services 3.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2)”
I noticed the following article to update the WUA on my client computers to version 7.6.7600.320
http://blogs.technet.com/b/configmgrteam/archive/2014/07/14/how-to-install-the-windows-update-agent-on-client-computers.aspx
But I don’t want to update this agent with a package but I want to update this agent with the WSUS/SUP functionality of automatically update this client to the newest version
Is the following approach valid ?
Download Update for Windows Server Update Services 3.0 SP2 (KB2938066) http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=43633
Install this update on our SUP1 (connected to the internet)
Synchronise
Install this update on our SUP2
Synchronise
Afterwards the clients will connect to SUP2 and will install the newest WUA 7.6.7600.320 automatically
I hope someone can answer this if this approach is valid?
Thx in advance
Regards

ConfigMgr 2012 R2 client on Windows 7 SP1 x86 causes "Program Compatibility Assistant" to appear
After I upgraded to R2 I am seeing the message below on newly installed Windows 7 SP1 x86 machines when I go to Control Panel and open the Configuration Manager Properties and then close it. This seems to only happen on 32-bit Win7 not on 64-bit.
I have created a new package for the client from definition and I also tried building new images using my Build and Capture task sequences. In this case I get the same message on the x86 Windows 7 SP1 machine if I log on after the Build & Capture is
done. My Build And Capture sequences uses the RTM-image for Windows 7 SP1 that has been patched using Offline Servicing.
Has anyone else seen this? Everything is working normally on the clients and if I click "This control panel works correctly" the message goes away. However, if I click "Open the control panel using recommended settings" that results in
admin-rights being required to open the Configuration Manager Properties under the Control Panel.
Regards,
CarlI just pinged the product team and they are not aware of this issue at all so please someone open a support case with CSS where the issue can be worked.

I'll be opening a support case first thing monday :)

Hi Tim
How did you go with this? We're still seeing this issue migrating Windows 7 x86 machines from the ConfigMgr 2007 SP2 R3/ConfigMgr 2012 client to the ConfigMgr 2012 R2 client in multiple environments.
Cheers
Sam
Ticket opened with Microsoft Support, still no fix but I will keep you all posted.

Installing Windows XP SP1 Using Parallels Desktop 8
Hello:
I just instaled Parallel Dektop 8 for MAC, I have Imac Book Pro). I installed the very original Windows XP Professional, I could not install any of the service packs (SP1, SP2, SP3). I tried to upgrade to Windows 8 Pro, but I could not do it because it requires SP3. Any idea?

Error While Creating Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-BIT Virtual Machine
I am facing an error while creating a Virtual Machine on the Cloud. The Error is below:
Error (610)
Virtual Machine Manager was unable to find a value for the required Sysprep parameter ProductKey.
Recommended Action
Add the missing Sysprep parameter either to the answer file or to the operating system configuration, and then try the operation again.
My Template does not have the Product Key defined. The OS is Windows Server 2008 SP2 32-BIT. Is defining Product Key absolutely necessary? I have other Templates for other Operating Systems and they are working fine. Only facing problem
with this.
Any help would be appreciated. In the SCVMM world a 'template' is composed of the following: a VHD with an OS that has been generalized (sysprep), virtual hardware profile (settings), and an OS profile.
The OS profile is required to have a product key. A MAC activation key at the minimum. But the key is required.
If you deploy a VM from a VHD, the same customization assumptions are not at play. Which is why it succeeds. (there is no template in this case, there is also no requirement that the OS in the VHD be sysprep'd).
SCVMM has rules. And lots of things don't make sense until you begin to understand them and play within them. (I am not saying that the SCVMM rules are a good thing, just saying they exist)
