Ubiquiti Video Surveillance in the Cloud

I didn't have a question on bandwidth of the cameras, I know what that is at each site.  I was just wandering what other people who have used Ubiquiti Video Surveillance systems thought of this possibility. My concerns with the bandwidth is that most of my clients are in rural areas where internet connection is not as reliable as they are in populated areas.  Their bandwidth can really fluctuate.  That being said, the idea of not having to maintain servers across a large rural area is very very attractive me, also not having to support servers in non-ideal conditions most agribusiness locations are dusty and hot.

If you go to http://video.ubnt.com you get the image below.  Rumor in the forums is that they are releasing a Video Surveillance Server that can run in the cloud.  I have installed a lot of these surveillance systems from Ubiquiti and if they make it like their Unifi Controller for the network (APs, Unifi Switches, and Unifi Secure Gateway) then that would be awesome.  I am just concerned about the amount of bandwidth that would be needed for each camera going out to the cloud server.

Buy another hard drive.  They're cheap these days.
In fact, buy a couple of 'em.  I recommend a minimum of five internal hard drives.

  • Do iphone videos save on the cloud?

do iphone videos save on the cloud?

I just posted this same question. I have been trying to figure this out for days. All of my iphone 4 memory is being eaten up by my 180 videos. I need to free up this storage space.
I am begining to think you CANNOT save videos to the CLOUD.

  • How do I put a video hosted in the cloud within a gallery?

    Hi
I am creating an app in siena project that has many short videos, 400, 20 mb each. I want to use to classify a gallery, the problem is that I host them in the cloud, on the subject of space, but I don´t know how do it.
Can anyone give me some idea?
With excel I could not do it.
    Best regards
    Javi

    Hi Javi,
If I understand you have about 400 videos (20mb each) stored in the cloud. Each video should be addressable using a Url (e.g.
    http://MyServer/Video1.mp4).
The first step is to create a one column table in Excel that list the 400 Url. Something like
    Url
    http://MyServer/Video1.mp4
    http://MyServer/Video2.mp4
Make sure to create a table (see
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/excel-help/create-or-delete-an-excel-table-in-a-worksheet-HA010013764.aspx for additional help) and save the Excel file.
    In Siena, you can then:
Import the table from this Excel file by going to the File-Data Source menu and choosing Excel data source.
Add a Custom Gallery, select its template (click on the Edit icon) and add a video visual to it
Set the Items property of the gallery to the table you imported
You will then see the 400 videos in the gallery.
Let me know if you run into any issues.
    Thanks,
    Olivier

  • For an app made with Single Edition, is the video stored in the cloud?

Just looking into using Single Edition and wondering where interactive assests for the app are stored.  Are they all stored in the cloud, or do I have to provide a storage location?
    Thanks for any help!

Everything is store in the app unless you elect to use web based
    overlays such as streaming video.

  • I want to share my video edits with clients in the cloud but can't

I was under the impression I was able to easily share my video edits with clients for a simple seamless workflow. Upon trying this I learn that I am unable to share video files over the cloud. Why is this? and how can I do this? I know you use to be able to within premiere.
Does it need to be exported in a certain format or is it simply not supported to do this in the cloud.
    Thanks.
    -Paul

    Hi Perfect Pair,
Creative Cloud is not currently able to be used in this way but this is something our developers are considering adding in the future.
Please share your feedback about what file formats you typically work with, what kind of a workflow would work best for you and what related features would be the most important for you on our ideas section.

  • Can someone tell me how to put some tunes and videos into the cloud to free up download space?

Can someone help me figure out how to store songs and videos temporarily in the cloud so I can free up more download space? Thanks.

You don't actually store anything in iCloud with regard to media files. iCloud backs up your purchases. You can delete the songs and videos from your iPad and then download them again via the purchased tab in iTunes.
This only applies if you purchased the content from iTunes and if you use the same Apple ID to download them again that you used to buy them with originally. Not all movies are available for free downloads either. Not all iTunes purchase are available for downloading again in all countries.

  • Streaming From The Cloud Stops

Just purchased ATV gen 3.  Everything  set up ok. I can stream downloaded videos from computer without any issues. However when I try to stream video's from the cloud the program will randomly stop and go back to the "Play" page.
I had my internet provider check my wireless router. It is working fine and sending a signal between 9 and 12 mbps. However I should add my ATV signal  bar has just three out of five bars lit up.
Could the problem be with the hardware/software or clitches from the Cloud which I cannot control or fix?

What??  You asked how to get all your music on your phone at once rather than downloading it to your phone from iCloud.
Go to your purchased list in iTunes and download all your music to your iTunes library, as explained in the linked article.  Then sync it all to your phone using iTunes you're done.  The music will be stored locally on your phone and you won't have to download it again in the future.

  • Movies in the cloud not working

    Hi,
So... on and off today, the movies we've purchased from the iTunes store but left in iCloud are unplayable.
Actually, for a moment there they also disappeared. I did find a way to get them back. First, I had to go under the "View" menu in iTunes and "hide" and then "show" the movies again. Otherwise, there was no option in preferences to "show purchased videos..." in the iTunes preferences. That alone seems like a bug (if I didn't go through the view menu stuff, the preference choice to show purchased videos just wasn't there).
But now, I go into iTunes and I have to keep going in to preferences to RE-select to show purchased videos, otherwise I can't see the movies in the cloud. This is messed up. On our Mini, I can see them but they have no icon in itunes and when I try to push play they stall at zero. This is only the videos parked in the cloud that I'm talking about. And yes, the internet connection is working otherwise.
Has anybody else had a similar experience... and if yes, what to do?

Apologies, it appears I have posted this in the incorrect category. I have posted a duplicate under iTunes for Mac. Unfortunately i have no idea how to remove my original post.

  • Am in Europe (UK) with iPad. Comput er(Mac) at home. Bandought videos and iCloud storage, but still can not download all the videos. How can I get them to store in the cloud and come out a gain to my iPad? Need something to watch at night, etc. tx

Hi all. I. Bought videos from iTunes and also bought the lowest amount of extra iCloud storage. I assumed the videos could be stored in the  cloud and called back automatically to the iPad when I needed them. They won't all download, Apple hasn't answered my call for help via e mail, and I don't know what to do. I deleted stuff from the iPad and got rid of some of the videos I'm not watching (hoping to maybe download them again later on).
I don't get how the Cloud works, and I don't really know which article to read for info. HELP?
    thanks,
    Isabella

Not all video is available for redownload.
Purchasing more icloud storage has nothing to do with itunes purchases.
Itunes purchases ( the ones that are made available for redownload) are automatically available in icloud.  you do not have to purchase any icould storage for this.
You should not delete anything.  you should always have a backup copy.
Movies are only available for redownload in the U.S:

  • Error upon loading a video from the iTunes in the cloud

I bought a movie called Epic and when I tried to play on my Apple TV via streaming from the iTunes in the cloud it was playing until yesterday it start displaying an Error message "Error upon loading this video content". How long does it take for that to be corrected?

OK well, I think all that stuff about licensing is not true, unless explicitly stated
Just working off a gut feeling (or perhaps just wishing it weren't true)?  I suggest actually checking:
    https://www.google.com/search?q=us+rip+dvd+legal
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Act
Typically any mention of ripping DVDs may get a topic removed from the ASC forums since it is discussion of an "illegal activity" and subject to Terms of Use.
The key thing here is if you upload a file to your library, then try to replace that same file with the same file name, iTunes will ignore it and NOT overwrite the file that's already there. You have to delete the file off first and THEN add to library again.
Correct, iTunes works on a file basis not a track label basis.  That's why I said delete the old file.  You could have 20 identical files with the same name (in different folders) and iTunes will add them all right next to each other.  Nothing new in iTunes behavior there.  In fact if you had gone to the location where the media file was stored and copied a new one over the old one with the same name I believe iTunes would still know it wasn't the original.  You can, however, edit a file using a third party tool and save it in place and iTunes will accept the changes without having to re-add the file.

Please help. I recently upgraded to IOS 8.2 and i realised
that all my downloaded videos from itunes have somewhat vanished. I see the
cloud sign with the downward arrow. However they won’t play, i am being
required to DOWNLOAD them again. This is both in my iPhone and Ipad. Is there
any other way to go around this? As I do not want to download a second time,
that would cost me more money.

    Hello ogojohn,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
The   icon indicates an item that is available for download. This is usually because it has been downloaded previously by the account you are logged in under and will not be charge again for the download. See the following article, while it references iTunes for Mac and not iOS, it is the same.

The videos I purchased on iTunes are taking up all the storage on my IPad. Is there a way to remove them from my iPad to free up some storage, but store them in the cloud to access in the future?

Thx - the videos are on my Ipad - that is the problem - they are taking up all the storage and there is no room for anything else. Is there any place I can store them so that I can access them from time to time, but not have they use up all the space on the IPad? Sounds like the cloud is out...
