Ubuntu 14.04 taking forever to install

Hi,
When installing Ubuntu 14.04 LTS on my 2013 MacBook Air, I get to the partition bit, partition and it gets stuck and has taken over 12 hours so far, with no progress. Is there anything I am doing wrong?

I downloaded Creative Cloud because I thought it was instant download, I guess not. I am saving the file and running it, but the window saying that it's downloading has been the same for 3 hours. The green installation strip is moving so I know it's not frozen, I checked to make sure my firewall allowed the install, but I'm just waiting. I have DSL. Is this normal?

I have successfully downloaded it in the past with zero hassles. However, it is Jan 2015 now and I am trying to download onto a new computer and the adobe installer is taking FOREVER. I have tried it on two separate laptops. I am using the adobe installer for the creative cloud and it has been over an hour and counting. Canceling the download and resuming does not help. The progress bar is at a quarter of the way and that is leaps and bounds beyond where it got on my other laptop.

Why does the ATI Graphics Driver p6624y taking forever to install

my HP advisor suggested I install an ATI Graphics driver update ... p5524y ... so I am attempting to do so. It set a restore point, checked available disk space, connected and downloaded rather quickly ... but the INSTALL/APPLY is taking forever (been running in excess of 1 hour now with 0% showing on progress bar.

HELP: Taking forever to install new keyboard langu...

I tried to install two new keyboard languages on my Lumia 1020:
1. Chinese Traditional BoPoMo
2. Chinese Traditional Handwriting
It's already over 45 min after I added these two languages, but the status for both languages are still showing Preparing download...
Is this normal?
Please help comfirming it.

Lot many users have reported this issue..
1. You may try rebooting the phone..
2. Confirm that Battery Saver mode (under 'settings') is OFF
..and select only 1 download at a time.

CS6 Design and Web Premium taking FOREVER to install

Trying to install the CS6 Design & Web Premium trial software on my a Macbook Pro (Retina Display) running OSX 10.8. I have no other applications running, and the Adobe Application Manager started the install over 3 hours ago, and has been stuck at 41% complete with the message "Currently Installing Acrobat X Pro" for probably 2 hours and 45 minutes of the 3 hours. I'm tempted to kill the install, but the time remaining indicator is still updating, although it currently says I have 303 minutes remaining (and climbing).
Any guidance on what to do here?

It sounds like the process has stalled. Kill it and begin again. I installed much faster than that for the entire Master Collection.

Cs6 design web premium taking forever to install

I've been trying to download my software for the last 12hours. It's been stuck at 13%. My remaining time is at 5705 minutes!!!!! And still climbing. What do I do? I've closed all other applications and I have a strong wi fi connection... Help.

This may sound stupid, but I don't know how to delete anything that's been downloaded. When I click on the
DEVICE bar on my side panel in finder > ADOBE CS6 DESIGN AND WEB PREMIUM > DEPLOY
It shows :
Install-en_gb.xml
Install-en_us.xml
Install-en_jp.xml
Uninstall-en_gb.xml
Uninstall-en_us.xml
Uninstall-en_jp.xml
Do I drag them all to my trash can?

Mavericks taking forever to install?

I'm trying a clean install of Mavericks onto a SSD drive and It has been installing for over 2 hours and appears to be frozen with "time remaining: about a minute".
Mountain Lion typically would clean install in 20 mins, so I'm puzzled. Anyone have any suggestions?

New security software is taking forever to install

I haven't used my MacBook Air in a few days & when I used it this morning around 0845 I noticed it needed to update the software & security software. I clicked update & now it just has this little window that says..."installing 1 item" with the App Store logo. The blue progress bar has been at the same spot since it started. I am now afraid something is wrong with it & I have never had any issues with installing any updates before.

Ive been waiting for the latest security update to be finished for almost 6 hours now and all i see is the apple logo and the wheel turning below. Is this normal? If it isnt so what should i do? Ive been updating my macboom pro everytime but i havent waited this much long. Please let me know ASAP.

After installing SP3 for BO XI R1 - Crystal Reports taking forever to run.

We are running BO XI R1 SP3. Ever since installing SP3 a number of our scheduled Crystal Reports are taking forever to run. The Business Objects server resources are okay, CPU never really gets above 50% so I figure perhaps it's our SQL Server.
We run SQL 2005 and CPU on that hovers around 30%, we've got 4 2.6GHz CPUs with 16GB of RAM. Looking in SQL Server activity monitor the reason the reports are taking some time is that the wait types are generally CXPACKET.
For example a report used to process in a minute however after installing SP3 the report now takes several hours. Since we've 4 CPU's on our SQL Server activity monitor creates four sessions for the report to try and process it in parallel. However all of those four sessions have a wait type of CXPACKET. This I understand is related to parallelism and people have said to reduce that so nothing runs in parallel.
However I should not have to do that as things used to run just fine, there is no physical reason (i.e. RAM / CPU / HDD) that reports are locked waiting in SQL server. Has anyone else had this issue or have any suggestions on how to fix please?

XIR2 has two different redistributable MSI packages. One is compatable with 1.1 framwork applications and the other is compatable with 2.0 framework applications.
try downloading the SP3 MSIs from [here|https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100009656792008E/crxir2sp3_net_si.zip]
this will have both MSIs
- CrystalReports11_5_NET.msi (for 1.1fwk applications)
- CrystalReports11_5_net_2005.msi (for 2.0fwk applications)
rename the CrystalReports11_5_net_2005.msi to CrystalRedist115_x86.msi and replace the existing file in the Bootstrapper folder path
Uninstall the last install, rebuild and try your Click-Once install again. This time you should have the 11.5.3700.0 runtime.

I'm having the same issue. My iPod video now blinks on and off with the apple logo every 3-5 seconds. The HD clicks as well, but nothing happens. It has been like this for about an hour now, and my iTunes does not even recognize that my iPod is connected. Is there something wrong with the iPod update that we are not aware of? And if so, how can I restore my software without having to reinstall all of my songs and videos? This is really frustrating, and there should be some kind of warning about problems that can occur with new software updates.

My ipod touch is takeing forever to update to IOS 5.01

If your iPod does not have camera it is a 3G iPod. Those can only go to 5.1.1. Its hardware does not support a higher version.
As other have said, a 4G (first one to have cameras) can only go to 6.1.6
A 5G can go to the current 7.1.2
To more easily find compatible apps:
iOSSearch - search the iTunes store for compatible apps.
Apple Club - filter apps by iOS version.
Starting when iOS 7 was released, Apple now allows downloading the last compatible version of some apps (iOS 4.2.1 and later only)
App Store: Downloading Older Versions of Apps on iOS - Apple Club
App Store: Install the latest compatible version of an app
You first have to download the non-compatible version on your computer. Then when you try to purchase the version on your iPod you will be offered a compatible version if one exists.

Restarting taking forever after Security Update 2014-002

I just downloaded Security Update 2014-002 and my Mac Mini is taking forever to restart after the download and installation process finished. I'm running the latest version of Mavericks and my Mac is stuck on restart! What should I do?

Tap the space bar on your keyboard once. The dispaly may be sleeping.
The first restart after the update here was longer than usual but I restarted one more time, it was back to normal boot time.
After the restart, open the App Store then select Updates from the menu.
It should say: Verio 1.0 Installed Apr 22, 2014
