UC520 and extension mobility.
I have a UC520 with the latest version IOS (uc500-advipservicesk9-mz.124-11.XW5) it has the commands to make a logout profile and enable extension mobility. The phone (7971) that the logout profile is associated with does not see extension mobility enabled however at the CLI the IOS says it is. Any help? The profile functions as far as to bring up the associated ephone-dn.
Which exact IOS are you using? I've heard that XW6 has this sort of problem while XW5 is fine.

Multi forest LDAP and Extension mobility
hello,
We want to support the following configuration:
MultiForest LDAP integration with CUCM 10.5.
So we want to set the "LDAP Attribute for User ID" on UserPrincipalName (UPN). > [email protected]
We also want to support Extension Mobility.
Is there a way to make te login proces easier than logging in with [email protected] and the PIN code?Unfortunately no, the EM process uses whatever you chose for userID for the login.

User EM has an EM profile associated and ICD checkbox checked. EM is enabled on ip phones ph1,2 and 3. Phone 1 2 and 3 are associated to the RM JTAPi user. I am able to login into the phones using the EM profile and also able to log into the queue with out any issues.
Is there a requirement to associate both the phone and EM profile to the rmjtapi user for IPPA to work?
SankarHi Sankar,
Im not an IPCC express expert but this should help you.
When you run Extension Mobility in IPCC Express, implement these actions with respect to device association:
Associate RMUser with all phones that an agent has the potential to use for phone needs.
Associate the agent with the agent Extension Mobility profile.

CCM 4.2.3 Extension Mobility
Hello,
I'm configuring the Extension Mobility Service but I found a very strange failure.
1) I have configured the Extension Mobility Service ( http://10.10.1.1/emapp/EMAppServlet?device=#DEVICENAME# ) and i did subscribe under every phones.
2) I've created the Device Profiles for every phones.
3) Under Global Directory I did insert the users and they control own device and extension mobility feature
When the user click the "World Button" on the phone it appears not the Extension Mobility Feature but the message: " MAC-ADDRESS NOT AVAILABLE .
I did attach the version and CCM's details.
Someone has had before the same problems ?hi,
please can you tell me what is configured in the menu :
"System - Enterprise Parameters - URL Services"
http://CallManager-IP-Address/CCMCIP/getservicesmenu.asp
If so look whether IP-Address or DNS-Name of the Call Manager is configured

Extension Mobility in CUCM 7.1: How to send Userid and Pin with Service Par
Hi at all
is it possible to configure the IP Phone Service (CUCM 7.1)for Extension mobility so that when a user login in EM they dont need to insert the UserID and UserPin???
I think it could work with the Service Parameter but I dont know how.
Have somebody an idea?
Thanks.
kind regards
JoséHi!
As far as I know that's not possible and it will defeat the purpose of using Extension Mobility as anyone could login from a phone with no credentials. Porbably you could configure a script or something that allows you to accomplish this, but it won't be supported.
Regards,
Teresa.

extension mobility - can i have 2 extension mobility profiles with the same extension for a 7970 phone and a 7975 phone? thanks
Yes, or simply configure 1 UDP and default device profile for the other one.
EDIT: and actually with those models, you should be able to use just one

Strange problem with Extension Mobility and Click to Call
Can anyone explain how is it possible ? Any ideas, guys?
CUCM 7.1.3
PC1 with IP comm. and user1 is logged in to Extension Mobility + Click to Call. User1 can make a call using Click to Call.
PC2 with IP comm. and user2 is logged in to Extension Mobility + Click to Call. User2 can't make a call using Click to Call.
The following error appears on the PC2 screen:
"The call failed. Please ensure you are logged into your Extension Mobility device. If the problem persists contact your phone administrator"

Hi,
Does anyone know if network based recording on a 9971 works with extension mobility users?
I can get Network based recording to work with QM if I put the users extensions on the phone itself, but it doesn't record when they log in with extension mobility profile and the EM profile is 9971 type and has recording profile set on the extension on the device profile, etc.
I need extension mobility for these users as they move around and need recording to work and call center won't let them log in if I put the extension on the phone and they log in to another phone with EM.
I've found some other forum posts suggesting this may not be supported but not really sure and can't find it mentioned in the documentation.
In QM I do have all the 9971s phone used by the EM agents under VoIP devices as well as their user profiles and the agent id is selected for the user profile (not the phone) under VoIP devices. The recording server is set correctly for the phone and the recording type is Network Based. I can't set the Monitor server for the phone and I can't set the recording or monitor server or recording type for the user profiles.
ThanksI understand you need to configure only Agent name in voip device, it is not prefered method to hardcode phone if it is used by multiple agents.

Specify ID and PIN in extension mobility URL?
Hi
I have a customer who is using extension mobility to allow users to log in/out of hunt groups. They would like to streamline the process by removing the need to enter the PIN each time. I'm wondering if it's possible to include the user id and pin in the service URL so they could make a separate IP service for each agent.Mahesh,
I wouldn't bother testing, this is an old post and I had replied to another of his before which he didn't respond too. Here is my other post, the URL above and in mine is correct.

Cisco Unified WFO - Call Recording and Quality Management with Extension Mobility agents
Hi All,
We're considering Cisco Unified WFO - Call Recording and Quality Management for a customer running UCCX 8.0, agents on multiple WAN sites, all agents using extension mobility.
The documentation I've been able to find describes three different recording methods:
Using Desktop Recording service (Endpoint) to record from an agent’s desktop.
Server Recording - Uses SPAN (not so good for remote sites)
Network Recording - Uses CUCM recording service / SIP trunk / phone's built in bridge.
Network recording or Desktop recording should be suitable for the customer but it seems that Extension mobility is not supported. Extension Mobility is not mentioned in the 8.5 installation guide, it is mentioned as ‘not supported’ in the 8.0 guide as follows:
'Server Recording and Network Recording have the following limitations:
• Extension mobility is not supported.'
Neither version's documentation specifically mention extension mobility in relation to the desktop recording method, though I realise this is a similar approach to the 'server recording' method.
So the question I have is: Is extension mobility supported in any way on version 8.0, or version 8.5 for recording? And if so which recording method(s) are supported?
Thanks,
JonathanHi,
I had more luck asking questions over at the Calabrio forum - they make the software and Cisco re-brand a version of it - there is some good info on their portal (http://portal.calabrio.com), you have to register but it's fairly painless. The answer I got was:
"QM Desktop recording has always supported extention mobility as it determines the recorded user by the desktop user's login. Extention mobility was not supported for Server and Network recording until the Calabrio QM 8.6.2 release in April 2011 and will be added to Cisco QM starting with QM 8.5.2 in June 2011"

Extension mobility logout issues UCM v 6.1
Hi, I am using UCM v6.1, with a Pub and Sub. I have deployed handsets out using auto-reg. I have created user device profiles and associated those the users. I have subscribed the services to the autoregistered phones by using BAT to bulk update , using bulk admin->phones->update phones->phones query.
The users press the services key and have the extension mobility and logout options. They can login to their Device profiles ok but when I attempt to log them out i receive an error on the lcd "logout unsuccessful [6] database error".
I have attempted to locate the actual device and log the user out manually using the CCMadmin GUI, however i receive a message ,
"Error occurred while retrieving information from database. No LOGOUT device profile".
According to the documentation, wgen selecting a log out device profile you choose "use current device settings". I left this as default when bulk updating the phones.
I have restarted the extension mobility service on Publisher and Subscriber, and have also shutdown the servers and rebooted - but to no avail.
I am doing something fundamentally wrong or could this be a bug? I have found a few in v6.0, which is why i upgraded to 6.1. thanks.Hi Stuart,
It does sound like this bug (somewhat);
CSCsj33055 Bug Details
bulk insert phone or UDP does not add phone service if no svc parameters
Symptom:
Insert UDP fails to insert IP Phone Service if there are no parameters to all
Device Profiles.
Conditions:
'Insert UDP' in Bulk Administration Tool [BAT] doesn't insert IP Phone Service
for all the Device Profiles if no parameter is defined on the Phone Service.
This also happens when the UDP template is not subscribed to the Phone Service.
And this Insert UDP works fine in inserting the IP Phone Service to all DPs if
you are doing one record at a time, it fails if you do it in a BULK.
Workaround:
For Device Profiles:
1. Using a template
- Add a dummy parameter to the EM service. Save it and click on Update
Subscriptions.
- Subscribe EM service on the UDP template. Ignore if already done.
- Upload the Insert file for specific details transaction.
- Submit a job with the uploaded file and the UDP template on which EM is
subscribed.
2. Using a CSV file
- Add a dummy parameter to the EM service
- Specify this dummy parameter with blank values in the CSV. Sample file below
- Upload the Insert file for specific details transaction and submit a job
Once you have inserted DPs, you can go to IP phone service page, select the EM
service. Delete the dummy parameter and click update subscriptions.
sample:
DEVICE PROFILE NAME,DESCRIPTION,DIRECTORY NUMBER 1,SERVICE NAME 1,SUBSCRIBED
SERVICE NAME 1,SUBSCRIBED SERVICE NAME ASCII 1,PARAMETER NAME 1,PARAMETER VALUE 1
DP-1,DP1,2001,Extension Mobility,Extension Mobility,Extension Mobility,dummy,
DP-2,DP2,2002,Extension Mobility,Extension Mobility,Extension Mobility,dummy,
For phone devices:
1. create bat phone template and subscribed it to the EM service
2. define an update phones job:
enable extension mobility
log out profile: use current device settings
add services from this teamplate: run immediatelyMake sure to check the box to the left of the line item in the BAT job definition. That signifies to BAT that wish to synchronize all selected phones to the value specified.
I would open a TAC Case.
Hope this helps!

Extension mobility redundancy in CUCM 8.5
Hi ,
I have a doubt in cucm 8.5 extension mobility redundancy.
I have 3 call managers in cluster.
1. X.X.X.1 - punlisher
2. X.X.X.2 - sub1
3. X.x.X.3 - sub3
i have configured CUCM X.X.X.2 (sub 1) for extension mobility URL and in exterprise parameter configuration also (service URL). all phones are subscribed this URL and users login.
my schenerio is,
if SUB1 goes down, i change enterprise parameter service URL IP to punblisher. is that enough for users to login to extension mobility?
my doubt is,
in the above schenerio,
users press services button, request will go to enterprise parameter URL> enterprise URL will check for subscribed services> and route the request to the subscribed services for the phones . but here i have subscribed only EM service which has sub1 IP address.
how user can login?
if users can login meas, how that works.
or do i need to create 2 EM service (one for SUB1 IP, another one for PUB IP) and subscribe all the phones with both the services?
so that if subscriber fails user will login another service with has publisher IP?
I have activated EM service in all call managers inthe cluster.
please clarify my doubts.
thanksHi
Yes , the extension mobilty HA is avilable starting from V8 .On earlier verions as v 7 is not supported, Please find the below link:-
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/srnd/8x/cmapps.html#wp1189079
I think you have to deploy SLB (server load balancer) to distribute requests through servers . You can use load balancer as (F5 , or DNS round robin).
Note:The problem , is that the "Login" and "Logout" service URLs can really only point to one IP address. Please find the below solution based on DNS:-
- create multiple DNS records for the same name which will point to two CCM servers running the EM service
- point your EM service URL at that hostname which you have created on 1 step.
- ensure your phones have valid DNS servers assigned to resolve the above
Note: the problem on the DNS is the delay between requests.
Thank you

Need help with CME Extension Mobility with SIP Phones (7841). I'm using CME 10.5 and I configured the parameters below for extension mobility but the phones won't register right after I put the logout profile in the voice register pool.
They work normally when not in Extension Mobility though. Please help I need to deploy this to my customer soon.

How to Configure Extension Mobility
Hello friends,
I am presently at crossroad on getting Extension Mobility to work on a CUCM 7(1)2. I have exhausted as many cisco docs on doing this. Please can someone who has not got just the book knowledge but with experience(s) should please give me a detailed step by step way in getting it configured and working!
Thanks!If you're following this doc:
http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/admin/7_1_2/ccmfeat/fsgd-712-cm/fsem.html
And still can't make it work, you're doing something wrong, that's the doc everyone who has configured EM (and 90% is the same no matter the version) has followed to configure this.
Read the doc, digest the info, then carefully go step by step thru the config. -
Extension Mobility not working properly
Dear All,
I would like to ask about extension mobility on my Cisco Unified Call manager 8.5. The problem is when I press services button then Extension Mobility the put the User ID and Pin, the login was successfull but after that there's no change on IP Phone screen.
After I check on Cisco Unified Call Manager -> Devices -> Phone -> Actively Logged In Device Report I was found that my ID already login on IP Phone, but like I say before there's no change on IP Phone, my Directory Number, Name also not appear.
Did anyone experiencing same issue above? Or anyone know how to fix issue above?
Please let me know, I'm very appreciate to all of you that help and contribute on this discussion
Best Regards,
Nanda NurhadyanNanda,
Have you created a Specific Device Profile with your DN and name? You will need to do that, and then you will need to go in to your end user account and make it a controlled profile.
If you do not have a device profile specific for you, you are probably getting the default device profile that doesn't have any DN associated with it.
Let me know if this helps.

Configuring with D-Link or Netgear Modem
