UC540W, SPA504 & SPA500 DS

Extension listing is not showing up in digital format on a SPA500 DS, which is connected to a SPA504; has anyone gotten this to work?
I told the customer to write the usernames/extensions on the display with a non permanent marker for now; kinda embarassing
I'm running a UC540W with the latest service pack, etc.  Please help
thanks,
Hector

Hi Hector,
Unfortunately at this time the SPA500DS is not supported on UC540/UC560, only the SPA500S. The SPA500DS is only supported in SIP mode.
Based on the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP), the Cisco SPA500DS has been tested to ensure comprehensive interoperability with equipment from voice over IP (VoIP) infrastructure leaders, enabling service providers to offer competitive, feature-rich services to their customers.

  • SPA500S Attendant Console BLF and Broadsoft NOT working on firmware 7.4.6

Like many of us, for many years now, have continous problems with the Cisco SPA500S Attendant Console. In my case, I'm running my phones with 7.4.6 because it is the version of the Cisco SPA504/508G phone firmware that is certified to work on our current version of Broadsoft's Hosted PBX.
The phones work very well indeed, but the attendant console lights up after a re-boot of the BLF phone is performed, however, the actual SPA500S unit doesn't perform onitoring at all.
I've read every blog/discussino on this matter and it is becoming a nuisance at this point. I dont understand why it takes so much trouble to configure something so easy and what a stark difference there seems to be when you upgrade SPA50XG phones on the firmware from one firmware release to the next one.
I'm looking for anyone that has had this issue that can help me configure the Cisco SPA508G phone that servers as the monitoring phone with a single SPA500S Attendant Console unit to monitor 4 extensions.
    Jose A.

We just installed an new system with the SPA508g phones and the SPA 500s Side Car and are having the same monitoring issues. We have notified our support and they have been tweeking our system quite a  bit. If this is a known issue why is CISCO not resolving it. Does CISCO monitor these forums?

  • Attended Xfer on A SPA500S 32 Button Attendant Console

I have a CISCO 504G with a SPA500S 32-Button Attendant Console.  I had this all configured just the way I like it, when I had to remove the Attendant Console for a recent move.  Now I have my console all programed with all my speed dials (employee extensions and cell numbers) but I can't transfer a call.  When I called my VoIP carrier, Vocalocity, they said it can't be done.  When I first got my sidekick, they told me the same thing.  I then called Cisco and they told me exactly how to configure it to be able to perform an Announced transfer so I know its possible.  I need to be able to let my employee know who is calling before I transfer the call.  Can anyone help me?

  • I have an SPA514G phone and need to add SPA500S addon

I would like to know the options to add a SPA500S addon to the SPA514G phone. I am running these phones off a DMS500 CS2K switch.

I'm not sure our solution may help you. Our test phones are connected to extra SIP exchange (just Asterisk). Such test exchange is connected to exchanges in each area as it's SIP client.
The operator needs to dial "carrier selection" prefix followed by destination number. The call is routed by test exchange to particular area exchange (identified by prefix which is stripped then) so area's exchange process the call like destionation number has been dialed on local device connected to it.
It fit our needs in most cases. Well, we cover less towns, but more states ;-)

  • Using both SPA500DS and SPA500S with a SPA525G2

I've got a SPA525G2 (SW v7.5.5 / HW v2.1.1) which I'm trying to use a SPA500DS AND a SPA500S at the same time.  Does anyone know if this is supported?
If the S is the first device, it works fine but the DS is blank, except for the line seperators and the Page Numbers.  These change if you try and switch between.  If the DS is the first device, the display has the correct information, but the backlight won't light up and the S is dead.
If it helps to know - we're running them through Asterisk and are TFTP'ing XML config to them.
The phone's web interface shows for the 2nd device:
    Unit Enable: No
    Unit Online: No
Anyone have any ideas on this?

When i did research on this (i use the UC320w which only supports the SPA500S), i seem to remember you can use 2 but they need to be the same ones.... (at least with the SPA500S).

  • New UC540W deployment with conference and ip phone

    Hi All,
I'm preparing solution for UC540W with conference station phone and other ip-phone for small company.
My current selected bill of material is consisting of following.
    5 x CP-7942G IP phones
    2 x CP-7937G Conference station phones
    1 x UC540W-FX0-K9 appliance
I have few doubts to ask:
    1. Is everything included for working complete solution?
    2. CP-7942G has CP-7942G-CH1 model also. Which model should I use?
    3. Can I use PoE for CP-7937G s/phones or should I use CP-PWR-CUBE-3 ?
Please let me know anything missing please.
    Thanks

    1 yes.
2 they are the same exact hardware.
    3 PoE
Note: if you want sure and fast results, and save yourself a lot of frustration, do not try yo do yourself, engage an UC certified Cisco Partner, or persone withh equivalente knowledge and expereince.

  • SPA500S not working properly with SPA509G

    Hi everyone,
I just did a recent installation of the following environment:
    1- UC320W Version 2.3.2(6)
    1- SPA8800
    11- SPA509G phones Version 7.5.2(U3)
    4- SPA500S expansion modules
    1- SF-200 Cisco POE switch
So far I have everything working the way it should, but I have two problems
I configured Line Monitoring on the expansion module for internal extensions and the light on the side car doesn't light up to give a status. It will light up only when the user picks up that certain extension. My understanding is that this is supposed to act as a Busy Lamp Field to let you know if a user is avialable or not.
The other issue is that I cannot press any of the "Unused" buttons to program any speed dials, I've read the specifications on Cisco's website and I should be able to add them to any "Unused" button by pressing and holding it down for 3 to 4 seconds.
I don't know if this helps any but when I go to the phone GUI and I click on the Attendant Console tab it says that the server type is SPA9000 and I don't think that that is correct.
Any help on this would be great guys.
    Thanks!!
    Mauricio

I have deployments with more than 2 total SPA500S's... however only two SPA500S's can be attached to one phone -- I don't believe that is a UC320 limitation, but a limitation of the phone itself (the UC500 series has the same limit for example).
The UC320 has had an endless amount of weird buggy issues in many of our deployments... I doubt your problems had anything to do with the sidecars you were using... it was likely just an excuse as they did not know the real cause.

  • UC540W-BRI-K9 support VIC "free" slot configurations

I am wondering if this is an acceptable configuration scenario?
    UC540W-BRI-K9 with a VIC2-BRI card
I cannot find anywhere or know of anyone who has tried this configuration. How many simultaneous call would this scenario accept if I had ISDN2 service for each port?
I've configured a UC520 that had a single 2 port BRI card. Each port was running an ISDN2 service, meaning I could get 4 "lines" or calls simultaneously coming in and out.
The technical specs suggest the UC540 can support 2 to 4 digital trunks. I am hoping that I can get up to 8 "lines" if the above scenario is possible using ISDN2 service on each BRI port.

    Hello,
Yes, the UC540 will see the additional BRI card. Just make sure the card is: VIC2-2BRI-NT/TE.
As far as the 560, you would order the UC560-BRI-K9 model. This model has 2 built in BRI ports, and then 2 available WIC slots.

  • SPA504G/SPA508G with SPA500S and Intercomm

I have a large office setup with CISCO SPA504G and SPA508G handsets. The main reception has two SPA500S expansion modules attached.
These are all connected with an Elastix server.
My challenge is using the intercom facility and the SPA500S. I can call a phone extension in the office by dialling *80 <extension number> and the receiving phone will automatically operate in Intercomm mode.
I need to set up the SPA 500S console so that certain extensions have the *80 intercomm function built into the speed dial button and still have BLF and CP functions built in.
I can program this in and it works but I lose BLF and CP of the button:
    -fnc=sd;ext=*80123@$PROXY
The current programming I have built into each button which works ok is as follows:
    -fnc=blf+sd+cp;sub=123@$PROXY;ext=123@$PROXY;nme=<Name>
Is there a way I can combine the two together into the one button so that I can get both the following functions in the one button:
    -fnc=blf+cp;sub=123@$PROXY;ext=123@$PROXY;nme=<Name>
    -fnc=sd;ext=*80123@$PROXY

All calls from reception to two particular destinations in question are "intercom call" in our environment. So I forced the PBX to add *80 prefix (well, we are using other prefix in the fact) to all calls from this equipment to those two destinations.
We are using raw Asterisk, so I have PBX logic under full control. I don't know it is possible on Elastix clone or not.

  • Spa500s place some numbers before dialing

    Hi,
Can I use spa500s buttons to put some numbers before dial?
For exemple, I want to use one route in my asterisk server, but I don't want to digit some numbers to identify the route, I want that the numbers which do that are placed before I start dialing
    Thank you

I don't know about what you are referring to when you refer to a "pause/comma comma feature can be found on the dialer". I haven't found one.
The only way I found to successfully get commas/pauses in a phone number is to put the number in my address book and then sync that to the iPhone. It works great. I believe that each comma is about a 2 second pause (don't quote me on that part).

  • Create FWD Function key on SPA500S

    Hi,
I am looking for a way to create FWD key on the expansion module.
What is want to do is use the local code *72 for "all call forwarding" and add a number to forward to.
For example when i puth the SPA504G on speaker en dial *720694838456 the SPA504G forwards all incoming calls to number
0694838456. To deactivate it i just hit the FWD softkey.
When i can put this under a function key on the SPA500S then i can make serveral FWD key buttons to serval numbers.
I tried to make a speeddial with fnc=sd;ext=*72,,0694838456@$PROXY. The phone sends this to the proxy and the phone doesn't pick up the *72 code.
I hope someone has the answer.
    Kind regards,
    Paul Verstappen

    Hi,
I have my own solution for the problem. You can use fnc=sd;ext=*72#0694838456@$PROXY and then it works. ( # after *72 )
    Next question is :
Can both activate and deactivate of the call forward be placed under one key?
And if that is possible could the key light up red when activated and off or green when deactivated?
    Kind regards,
    Paul

  • Auto-redial when line busy on UC540w

    Hello,
We have a UC540w-BRI-K9 (software version 15.1(2)T2) with 15 Cisco IP phones attached.
    Some of them are SPA525G
Is there any way to program them to automatically make several redial attempts whenever we call an external number and it is busy?
    Thank you in advance

There is nothing within the native OS to do that.
I have not seen such, but there could be a third party application to make it happen. Search AppWorld and mobihand.com

    Dan,
If you need follow up via email or phone, I would suggest that you open a TAC case. However here are a few links that will help you get the UC540 Software packs,

  • Registering SPA500 series IP phone with CME 8.6

Hello friends. I'm newbie with CME configuration, but now I'm asked to register SPA504G phones onto a CME 8.6 installed on a Cisco 2911 router using SIP protocol. I'm testing with a SPA 502G phone with software version 7.4.7. Within  "voice register global"  configuration I can't find "load" command for thisphoone model. About phone files, I only found "spa50x-30x-7-4-8a.bin" file for this phone and loaded into flash: unit.
How can I make SPA 500G phone be registered with this CME? I would appreciate somebody can help me with a guide to achieve this.
