UC560 WAN PORT support for dot1q?

Hi,
should be a fairly simple question but does UC560 WAN port support dot1q trunking back to switch? Can't see any doc on this.
Aim is to run 3 VLAN's back to switch one for data,voice,SSL VPN for remote teleworker.

I believe the WAN port is a L3 interface. You will have to use subinterfaces to do specific vlan communication between a switch.
You may look at this document. By the way, this is not possible via CCA and can only be done via CLI.

I am successfully using the Express as extended (wireless) now with the Extreme as the primary base station. I will try it (wired) with an ethernet cable attached to the Express (Gen 1) LAN port (which you say also functions as a WAN port in this case). BTW, my confusion arose because Gen2 of the Express includes a WAN and a LAN port

UC560 Wan port VLAN

Hi, is there a way to change the VLAN port on the WAN port of the UC560?
I'm trying to use VLAN50 on WAN port and I'd like to have that setup in the network configuration o the UC560. Is there a way to do this?

Using specific wan port for a particular domain/IP

I have RV042 router which is connected to the internet by both the wan ports and I want to use it as a load balancer so that both of my internet connections can be utilized evenly. But now I have an issue in this scenario as my remote application gets logout whenever the communicating IP address changes.
Now here is my question.
Is there any way out so that I can specify the wan port used for a particular public IP address/domain name?

I read your post and I have an article from our knowledge base and called Guide me, you could use to configure a protocol binding in order to specify the WAN port that you want redirect and select the specific traffic.

AEBS: use WAN port as a LAN port ?

Hello there,
My Airport Extreme base station is connected to an Airport Express as a WDS wireless bridge (none of them distribute IP, there is a router on the network).
I have two printers hooked on the AEBS, a USB one, and an Ethernet printer on the LAN port (Apple LaserWriter). Therefore, the WAN port is not used.
I would like to connect a non-airport Mac to the network thanks to the AEBS.
Can I plug the Mac with Ethernet on the WAN port or I must purchase an Ethernet switch to plug on the LAN port and then on the Mac and printer ?
The documentation says the WAN port is for cable modem only but I don't see any hardware limitation that could allow only those device.

I didn't know that the difference between a WAN and a LAN port was a matter of IP adressing. Nice to know.

EA6500 manually select speed and duplex for WAN port

Is there any way (hidden settings?) to manually select speed or duplex for WAN port on EA6500? I'm using EA6500 with Genexis HRG1044 (FTTH) and the latter has known issues with upload speed when local device is connected on gigabit. It seems that both EA6500 and Genexis HRG1044 only support autonegotiation and that always results in gigabit which results in poor upload speeds over the internet. Placing 100 Mbps switch between EA6500 and Genexis HRG1044 does the trick but I was wondering if it can be done without it. BTW, my internet speed is only 100/100 Mbps anyways.

@discoHR If you don't mind me asking, for what purpose do you want to adjust the speed on the WAN port of the EA6500? Is it to increase the upload speed? I'm just spitballing, but I don't think there's any "hidden setting" to adjust it on the EA6500.

RV Support VLAN Tagging on WAN Port?

Anything available other than this RV315W? That model is only 10/100 on the LAN. VLAN on the WAN is fairly standard for fibre installs and should be a feature across all SMB routers.

Serial Connector adapter / cable for WAN port on WRT350N and others - WRT150N WRT310N WRT610N

On the WAN port, there are 4 pins that are traced to the internal serial traces. Where can we get the cable that will fit into the WAN RJ-45 port and have a serial connector on the back end. How do I set up the port interface for the WAN side of my RVS4000? The ISP says I need to set it to 100T Full Duplex, but where would I do that? In the Router's administration GUI I can't find any options to make such settings for the WAN side.

The setup of the folders in Finder is entirely up to you. Whatever suits your needs is what you should do. Lightroom will be fine no matter how you set it up.
So I'm not really sure what your question is.

RV042G difference between bandwidth - protocol binding for WAN ports

Can somebody explain a little bit better then the manual what the differences are between bandwidth management on WAN ports and protocol bindings?
If you can specify in each section which protocol should go where why having two places to configure this?
Or are there some things to remind when using one of them?

Even if I tell the router to use bandwidth priority for SMTP to WAN2 (and i do not have protocol binding active for smtp to wan2) it still goes to wan1, how does the router choose this kind of behaviour?

I'm not sure what you mean by "data center M-M". There is currently only support for 2 masters. Do you mean
"Is there support for having a managed WAN connection between the two masters?"
This scenario has been tested, but I don't know if it is fully supported by iPlanet. In other words, it should work, but probably not as well as two masters sitting next to each other in a data center, which is the recommended deployment strategy.

IP automatic for WAN port doesn´t works

Hi, I have a RV042 with latest firmware (4.0.4.02) and I´m trying to conect to Internet in port WAN1 with the optino "Obtain an IP automatically". I have noticed that the router receives an IP from the modem, I´m able to connect to the from a PC in the same WAN subnet to the WEB Management page, but in the system summary the Wan Status is IP address 0.0.0.0 default gateway 0.0.0.0 DNS 0.0.0.0 and the pc in the internal LAN couldn't surf Internet.
The only way is assigning an static IP an DNS servers, and then all works fine.
On the system log shows the message "infinite IP address lease time. Exiting" when activate the IP automatically for the WAN1 connection type.
There is no option to change the leased time.
I need to send a router to a remote office where the connection to INternet is with a dynamic IP. Help please

I tried connecting a LAN port to the WAN port and it worked. I then connected the WAN port to the LAN port of a DLink router in series and I could communicate with the internet. I then connected it directly to the Motorola CPEi 150 and the port showed nothing. I then tried to repeat my steps and could not get any responce on the WAN port even with rebooting the router and reverting to factory defaults. The WAN port appears to have intermitten problems. I will attempt to troubleshoot some more but I may have to give up.

every port will install native under vista x64. if displaylink isn't picked up then you can download the driver here.
