UCCX 7 Alarm Configuration

In UCCX 7 alarm configuration if I set the syslong external server
IP address and set filter level say 4 we get all alarms even above 4.
We get 1 through 7. Has anyone played with the larm level and successfully has
received in the remote syslong server only the levels needed? Also if you have used
the SNMP traps and MIBs successfully could you explain which one worked.
I am referring to the serviceability guide for 7 but not clear if all SNMP configuration is covered.
Thanks.

The three accounts you mentioned there are Application Users, not End Users. As such they will not exist in Active Directory. The CCX installation documentation will instruct you to create the AXL account with Super User rights. CCX will then create the second two accounts for you.

  • CUCM License counting and Alarm configuration with SMTP

    Hi All UC Experts,
After the CUCM version 9 happened, the CUCM will become trail 60 days when the used UCL license is over.
Is it possible to set a SMTP alarm to inform the admin to purchase the UCL ASAP?
I checked the SMTP host configuration: If you want the system to send you e-mail, from the Certificate Expiry Monitor, for example, you must configure an SMTP host.

    Hi Edwin,
There is no such feature available in ELM on version 9.x. Alarms for 'demo' and 'overage' are generated 7 days after the condition is detected.

  • WCS Alarms - Configuring Thresholds

    I am using 6.0.181.0
I want to understand what the thresholds are for WCS alarm severity levels. For example, I received an alarm indicating it was low on disk space "did not meet the requirements", but I want to know whether I can adjust these thresholds? I know I can adjust them from Critical to Major etc. but I can not see anything that enables me to quantify these severity levels.
    Can anyone help?
    Regards
    Andrew

This is not a user customizable setting, and there is no control in any version of WCS to
turn that alarm off.  The best you can do is lower the level of the alarm.
The free disk space alert an be deleted without issue.
I believe the error message indicates the required available space such as:
WCS 'x.x.x.x' does not meet the minimum hardware requirements for disk space.
    Available: '14'GB. Minimum requirement: '30'GB.
E-mail will be suppressed up to 30 minutes for these alarms.

    Hello,
Is there a possibility to change the volume and type of alarm in the I-Touch calendar ? With the alarm by default in the aganda I don't know if you tried but you can't hear anything which is a problem if you use it to warn you few minutes before your appoitment

Do you carry around all that stuff in your pocket? That is a really poor work around. Apple should fix this problem if possible through software. The iPod should be a stand alone device. When I am in a meeting, I do not what to be late for the next, and I need to hear it in my pocket.

  • Doubt about configuration IPCCX 5.0

    Hi Guys,
My Customer have a solution with 02 IPCCX  Server version 5.0 (Publisher and Subscriber). I would like know if is possible configure any parameter in IPCCX to that inform (about alarm, e_mail, or another form) when the IPCCX to stop generate of backup. Is there this possibility in IPCCX?
    Thank You,

    Hi,
UCCX can be polled by an SNMP collector and also send alerts to a syslog server on the network. You can have any SNMP collector poll UCCX and you will get events back, like the one you have described, if the Cisco Alarm Service is running. All subprocesses of UCCX report their alerts to this process which then serves them to the collector when it is polled.
Alternatively, you can use the AppAdmin->System->Alarm Configuration to configure a syslog server and the level of alarms that are sent. Then, use AppAdmin->Tools->Alarm Definition to see which ones you want to filter.
You're most likley going to filter/trap:
    Catalog MCVD-ARCHIVE_MGR
    Name BACKUP_FAILED
Description Backup of the cluster failed
    Severity CRITICAL_ALARM

  • Can I log the Alarms & Events in Citadel?

    Platform - LabVIEW DSC 6.1
    OS - WinNT 4.0 SP 6.0
    Hardware - NONE
By using "HIST Alarm & Event Query.vi" I can view the Alarms and events occured over a span of time. The data can be retrived even when the DSC Engine is shutdown but if I re-start my PC the Alarm & Event data is lost though the file "Ale00000.ale" which logs the Alarms & Events is there. Can you tell me what the problem is ? Is there a method of logging the Alarm & Event data automatically in the Citadel like the logging of the tag values ?

Somehow nobody replied to you. Maybe this is because we do not exactly understand what you describe.
Just in general : LabVIEW DSC 6.1/7 logs all the values/data and all the alarms and events through the Tag Engine (DSCEngine). Therefore, you need to do everything through tags. I can imagine that you configure a discrete tag with a certain alarm configuration. Once you set this tag to high it will generate an alarm. The unfortunate thing is that you can not specify a unique customized HIHI/HI/LO/LOLO message.
The behavior you descirbe with the "life-time" of alarms is wired. Either you ran an older version of Logos which might had - a long time ago - an issue with some 'zero-files' or you mix up the historical alarms with the current, live alarms. The LabVIEW
DSC Engine could keep some alarms and shows them up in the alarm summery as long a the engine is running (live-alarms) once you shut down the engine the alarm summery will not show those alarms anymore. However, when you query the historical alarms you should get those alarms back from the database (regardless if the engine is running or not)
In LabVIEW DSC 7.0 National Instruments distinguishs between historical alarms and life alarms much better by having a "DSC Engine-internal" alarm server implemented. The Citadel Service is monitoring this alarm server and once it gets a new alarm it will put it to a relational database (MS SQL Server/MSDE).
This new change sounds quite promising for the new feature set of LabVIEW DSC 7.
    Hope this helps

As you would aready know, the UCCX will send an AXL request (within the SOAP envelope) to the CUCM to create this RP. Looking at the existing code, there does not seem to be a method where we are differentiating between CFB_internal and CFB_external while sending this request.
We have taken this as an enhancement request and also spoken to the business unit about the same. It has been added to the roadmap, we will reach out to you offline to understand the business case so that the process can be expedited if needed.

  • Alarms not working

I have several alarms configured on my iPhone which are set to go off every weekday morning at 15 min intervals to ensure I get up on time. This morning none of them went off, and when I looked at the phone and touched the screen, all of a sudden they all went off one after the other. The phone was charging, plugged into a Universal Dock Adapter, but this was not the issue as I had had the iPhone plugged into it every night for the past 5 weeks and the alarms all went off fine.
Anyhow, thanks for making me late for work Apple!

Bought my 3G iPhone last week. My 2G iPhone never had this problem, but my 1 wk old 3G already had this happen twice. On Monday, I woke up to the iPhone vibrating, not ringing at all. I had two alarms set on that day, 6AM & 7AM. I checked the hold switch and it is off so it should have been ringing. Then I deliberately set the hold switch to on and waited for the 7AM alarm. When 7AM arrived, the alarm actually rang. So I don't think the hold switch has any effect on the audible alarm.
I even did a complete restore on the day I got the 3G because the restore from backup was already taking 3 hours and counting. So I canceled the restore from backup then did a full restore of the v2.1 OS. Activated it as a new iPhone profile.
I've just came back from the Apple store and the tech couldn't reproduce it and told me to restore the iPhone again. And to think I was cussing at Microsoft for my failed XBox 360 this week.
I'm going to delete all alarms and create new ones, then try to reboot my iPhone before going to bed this week and see if it makes a difference

  • Modifying alarm setpoints dynamically

How can I modify the alarm settings for my database points through a control in a Lookout application? For example I have a numeric value being monitored, and H and HH alarm points configured, but I want the operator to be able to modify these through a manual entry (pot, etc.) if necessary.

    FadiHindi,
You cannot change the alarm configured for the object dynamically. However, you can achieve the similar results using a separate Alarm object.
In the Alarm object, the 'Signal' datamember would be your original object you want the alarm on. And for the HIHI, HI, etc., you can specify either contant values or other object like Pots and expressions that evaluate to a numeric value.
    Hope this helps.

  • Dsc 8.0.1 alarm behavior

I am moving from DSC 7.1 to 8.0.1 (and as soon as it is here 8.2) and I am noticing some differences in alarming.
In DSC 7.1 when a tag moved into alarm an "alarm instance" was generated with a "set time" corresponding to when the tag alarmed.  When the tag returned to normal (whether it was acked or not) its "clear time" was updated and when it was acknowledged its "ack time" was updated.  If a tag moved in and out of alarm without acknowledgement an "alarm instance" would get generated for each transition into alarm, each instance having "set time" and "clear time" as appropriate.
Now in 8.0.1 the "clear time" property does not seem to function and no new instances of an alarm get generated until the existing alarm is acked and returned to normal.
I am not sure whether these are "features", bugs in the PSP engine or a configuration error on my part.  Anyone else using the DSC 8.0.1 that can describe the alarm behavior in their system?
    George

LabVIEW's current (8.x) alarm behavior is incorrect and inconsistent. Although it is lengthy I will enumerate the reasons:
Alarms (independent of HMI package) have two fundamental properties: alarm state and acknowledge state. Alarm state indicates whether the associated value has deviated from a predefiend normal range or value. Acknowledge state indicates whether the user has indicated awareness of the associated alarm. Alarms typically can be configured to "auto-acknowledge" when they return to normal (clear). However, even when configured to auto-ack, the operator can usually manually acknowledge the alarm before it clears.
There are consequently three interesting times associated with alarms: when the alarm became active, when the alarm was acknowledged, and when the alarm returned to normal (cleared).
First consider the case of an alarm configured to auto acknowledge on return to normal:
The alarm becomes active at time A and then returns to normal at time B.
    LabVIEW Logs: Active=A, Acknowledge=B, Clear=B
The alarm becomes active at time A, is manually acknowledged at time B and clears at time C:
    LabVIEW Logs: Active=A, Acknowledge=B, Clear=C
Each time the alarm becomes active a new entry is added to the alarm log record. So far so good. Now consider the case of an alarm the user must acknowledge:
The alarm becomes active at time A, is acknowledged at time B and clears at time C:
    LabVIEW Logs: Active=A, Acknowledge=B, Clear=C
The alarm becomes active at time A, clears at time B and is acknowledged at time C:
LabVIEW Logs: Active=A, Acknowledge=C, Clear=C ** THIS IS WRONG!!! THE ALARM CLEARED AT TIME B!!!
    Finally consider:
The alarm becomes active at time A,
    Clears at time B,
The alarm becomes active at time C,
    clears at time D,
    and acknowledged at time E
LabVIEW Logs: Active=A, Acknowledge=E, Clear=E ** THIS IS WRONG!!! THE ALARM CLEARED AT TIME B and D!!!
This last case is also incorrect because it does not reflect the fact that there were several alarms. The log record will incorrectly reflect a single alarm.
Whether LabVIEW's implementation of tags and alarms makes it hard to create correct alarm behavior is irrelevant. The bottom line is LabVIEW does NOT behave correctly and has shipped with bugs in its alarm handling since LabVIEW 8.0.

  • UCCX HA failover, what is sync'ed?

    Hi
When setting up UCCX HA the configuration is sync'ed with the heatbeat and if the primary failes the slave takes over.
I have found information about the exchange of configuration but i havent found information about what happens with the sessions in progress when the primary fails.
Is it stateful? Meaning that the sessions are copied from primary to the slave so the sessions that are in progress are kept alive or will they have to be reestablished (the callers are disconnected and have to place the call again).
If i have overlooked the document(s) describing this i'd like to be refered to it
    Thanks in advance.
    /Tony

    Hi Tony,
If UCCX Publisher (primary Engine) fails and Subscriber (second Node) takes over the Engine mastership (assuming that the CUCM is up and running during this time and no failover is happening in CUCM cluster) than,
    1. All the connected calls will continue to work, eventhough you will see a warining message in the CAD and CSD stating that the active conection to th UCCX first node is lost, the RTP is kept alive but you may not see the exact call detail recordes because Primary engine fails here. However the CAD and CSD will automatically get connected to the UCCX second Node.
    2. New calls attempetd during this failover time will not get connected, you need to wait untill the secondary nodes takes control fully.
    3. You can not perform any config changes if any one of the UCCX node is down in a High Availability setup.
    4. IPPA Agents need to login one more time with the UCCX second node service selected.
    Hope this helps.

  • Where the alarm file is saved and by which name

    dear all
I m setting alarm by using following steps:-
Tools -> DSC Module -> Configure Tags
On Clicking Alarms tab setting alarms.
    then press ok.
Then File -> Save to save changes.
i just want to know where these changes are saved and where the alarmfile is created .
    is its extension  .ALR.
thanks in advance answer me as early as possible for u.
    regards,
    Dhanwanti

Assuming you are using a version prior to 8.0, the alarm configuration is part of the tag configuration and is stored in a file with a .scf extension.  This extension will not show up on windows as Microsoft co-opted it.  In 8.0 and later, the alarm configuration is part of the variable configuration and is stored in a file with a .lvlib extension.

  • Get a Boolean When a DSC Alarm Goes Off

    Hello LabVIEWers!
I've got probably 30 shared variables that I'm monitoring and logging using the DSC module.  I'm starting to use the alarms functionality and what I'd like to be able to do is run some code that sends my team a text / email when an alarm goes off.
It seems to me the easiest way to do this would be to somehow monitor the alarms and produce a T/F value that I can use to run a case structure.  For whatever reason I'm not seeing how to do this easily.  Is there a VI I'm missing?  I just want to be able to produce a True value when the variable is in alaram and a False value when it's not.
    Thanks for the help!

  • UCCX 8.5.1 and Nuance TTS

    Hello,
I am trying to get TTS features in UCCX using Nuance Vocalizer for Network.
I configured UCCX and the status of TTS Provider is "IN_SERVICE" (The Provider is defined as Nuance Volcalizer 4.0 as there is no 5.0 opton). In the UCCX scrip I configured:
Do you know if there are any specific configs that have to be made for this to work? Or any suggestions on how to integrate Nuance Vocalizer 5.0 with UCCX 8.5.1
    SW vers:
    UCCX 8.5.1.1000-37
    Nuance Speech Server 5.1 - 5.1.8.20111202_2000
    Nuance Vocalizer for Network 5.0.5
    Thank you,
    Daniel

The problem was that Vocalizer is listening on the different URL from what is sent by UCCX  in the RTSP SETUP message.
    UCCX send:
    URL: rtsp://192.168.100.148:554/synthesizer
and Nuance is waiting for  rtsp://192.168.100.148:4900/media/speechsynthesizer
So you have to modify the NSServer.cfg file in NSS:
    change the port:
    server.mrcp1.transport.port                              VXIInteger          554
    change the URL:
    server.mrcp1.resource.2.url VXIString synthesizer
    And now is working.
I still don't know why Vocalizer 5.0 is not available as an option for TTS aproviders
