UCCX 7 Service Release 4

Hello all,
Does someone install the last service release on UCCX 7 SR3 cluster. The service release is available since the 22th of septembre.
With SR3, I have some issues on historical report. Some filters are not working properly.

I tried to do it without any SR, but i have the following error:
xception occured while contacting the Call Manager com.cisco.archive.ArchiveException:

Recording Folder:C:\Program Files\Cisco\Desktop_Audio
Exception=com.cisco.archive.impl.ArchiveFailureException: Unable to contact Call Manager.
Please make sure that the Call Manager is running and connected to the network

This is a registered Cisco Bug ID CSCsr56145
The workaround is to patch the 7.0(1) system with the latest Service Release (SR) and run the restore again.
I think i could try to do it with the SR1, what you think?

    I have made following entries in Hosts file of both the machines:-

    I have completed all the pre-installation steps, i.e. configuring the disk for storage, and both the machine are communicating each other through there Private and Public interfaces. Now the problem appears when I am installing Oracle Cluster Ready Services, at the end of Installation following message appears and the auto configuration steps fails.

  • Trouble installing Service Release of Hyperion 9.3.1

    Hi,
    I have 2 questions posted towards the end of this long message.
    Currently, in our production environment, we use Hyperion 9.3.1 and specifically we only use the following components.
    Hyperion Shared Services
    Hyperion Web Analysis
    Hyperion Workspace
    The backend is Oracle 10g. Therefore, in order to re-construct the BI infrastructure in our development environment, I only had to install the following components.
    V11229-01.zip (Hyperion Shared Services)
    V11205-01.zip (Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - Client Release)
    V11207-01.zip (Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - Services Release)
    V11223-01.zip (Hyperion Reporting and Analysis - UI Services Release)
    I figured out how to install/configure Hyperion Shared Services on our Windows 2003 development server and am still playing with the Web Analysis components...
    I intend to install and configure V11207-01.zip, followed by V11223-01.zip, then, lastly I plan to install V11205-01.zip
    When installing V11207-01.zip on our development server (Windows 2003 Server), I ran into an issue already:
    According to the instructions on page 28 - 31 of hs_windows_install_reporting&analysis_931.pdf, I need to "Configure Oracle" first, and
    this is what I did:
    1. Dedicate a tablespace to Reporting and Analysis.
    Open a command window:
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0Serve\db_1\BIN> set ORACLE_SID=MYORCL0430
    C:\oracle\product\10.2.0Serve\db_1\BIN>sqlplus / as sysdba
    2. Create an Oracle account for Reporting and Analysis.
    In SQLPlus, did the following:
    CREATE TABLESPACE HYPUSERDATA
    DATAFILE 'C:\databaseFiles\MYORCL0430\HYPUSERDATA.dbf' SIZE 500M AUTOEXTEND
    ON
    EXTENT MANAGEMENT LOCAL AUTOALLOCATE
    LOGGING
    ONLINE
    PERMANENT
    SEGMENT SPACE MANAGEMENT AUTO
    SQL> CREATE USER biplus identified by xxxxxx default tablespace HYPUSERDATA temporary tablespace TEMP;
    3. Give the user database connection privileges:
    SQL> grant connect, resource, create view to biplus;
    Grant succeeded.
    4. Set the NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS to CHAR.
    Log into oracle (sqlplus / as sysdba)
    Before I perform any change,
    SELECT *
    FROM nls_database_parameters shows nls_length_semantics = byte
    select * from nls_instance_parameters shows nls_length_semantics=byte
    then,
    SQL>ALTER SYSTEM SET NLS_LENGTH_SEMANTICS=CHAR scope=both;
    Then,
    SQL> shutdown immediate
    SQL>startup
    This will make the change effective.
    After the change, I’d get
    SELECT *
    FROM nls_database_parameters shows nls_length_semantics = byte
    select * from nls_instance_parameters shows nls_length_semantics=char
    Then, step 5 at the beginning of Page 31 says,
    "5. Set the necessary environment variable:
    For Core Services and Job Factory Service - Use the System option in the control panel or the Set command from the Windows command prompt to set the LIBPATH environment variable to the locatoin of the oracle client libraries."
    My FIRST QUESTION is: I am not sure how to set this. so, I skipped this step completely.
    Then, I started the installing of the V11207-01.zip software.
    On page 46, step 8, it says
    "The new installatoin default path is C:\Hyperion\BIPlus"
    but, during my installation, when I reached that screen where the first line reads
    "Select Hyperion Home Directory".
    The single line edit box below it had
    C:\Hyperion in it but the single line edit box is grayed out, and the "Browse" button at the lower right corner is also grayed out,
    which means I am unable to change the Hyperion Home Directory location to the C:\Hyperion\BIPlus directory or anything else.
    So, I canceled and did not proceed with the install.
    My SECOND QUESTION is: Is this normal? if not, what did I do wrong? does this have anything to do with my skipping of
    "Set the necessary environment variable" step?

    This is normal.
    The "Hyperion Home" is picked up by the installer if the environment variable and/or previous configuration files are found. In your case, "C:\Hyperion" is the Hyperion Home and automatically filled by the installer and can't be changed.
    You said this was a service release, so you should be good to go after making a backup of the current installation.

  • Upgrade from Microsoft Word X Service Release 1

    I may be posting in wrong forum, if so please let me know a more appropriate forum to post in.
    When I originally made the heavenly switch to Apple, I purchased the student version of Microsoft Word X Service Release 1. It still works fine, except that I cannot open the latest version of PC-produced .docx files, and sometimes I lose things when opening a later version of excel docs.
    My question(s), assuming I need those to versions, will upgrading to the latest version of Word for Mac correct it. Can I just upgrade or do I have to buy the whole office package again? Has anyone else upgraded successfully? Any comments/advice welcome. Thanks!

    We have recently installed EHP-3. I have been trying to make use of the following service
    Under Repository Browser --> Package -- > OPS_SE_IVE_XI_PROXY
    Enterprise Services -- > Server Proxies ---> II_IVE_E_INVOICEREPRELRQ (Double Click)
    The Service Release Supplier Invoice with Service Interface name --> InvoiceERPReleaseRequest_In has status Active.
    Everthing seems to in place... But I don't see the Service under SOA Manager.
    Please advice, how to make use of the Service above....

    I have configured the Logical Port and able to publish other Services... but not able to find this Service itslelf under wspublish too..
    This is the message comes under Dispaly Logs "No service(s) to be published with the given criteria.

    I want to install the Business Connector 4.8. When it´s installed should I install additional the Core Fix 4 or Service Release 6 or both?

    I found the same hints but there is no information that I should implement the core fix or the patch or both.
    Is it possible to implement both without error?

    Hello,
    I have a general question in terms of Service Releases of a SAP solution:
    Is there an easy way to find out on which Support Package Level (or Support Package Stack) a Service Release (SR) of a SAP Solution (or NetWeaver itself) is based?
    Can I get this information in the SAP Service Marketplace?
    Example: mySAP <solution> SR1 is based on Support Package Level <nn> of component <comp1> and Support Package Level <nn> of component <comp2>.

    The interesting bit is that SR1 was released in April; while SPS6 was available in
    January. The same goes for SR2; released in December; while SPS9 was
    available in September.
    There is a gap of 3 months between the SPS was released and the SR is released
    I assume that patches that have been released for the SPS are included in the SR
    therefor a system that has SPS6 or SPS9 applied is not neccisarily the same as
    SR1 or SR2.

    I am searching a detailed description of all the Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX) services incl. the subsystem and manager services.
    Therefore I already opened a Cisco TAC, but I did not get the information for all of the services as there is no documention.
    The UCCX service are divided into four main categories:
    System Services
    Admin Services
    DB Services
    Desktop Services
    From the TAC Engineer I got a detailed desciption about the Desktop Services, like the following:
    Cisco Browser and IP Phone Agent Servic:
    Enables IP phone and browser-based CAD-BE agents to log in and out of CTI server,change agent states, and enter wrap-up data and reason codes without using a computer.      
    What I am looking for is to get a detailed description of the sub categories of the Cisco Unified CCX Engine:
    Manager Manager
    Subsystem Manager
    For example:
    Application Manager
    VOIP Monitor Subsystem
    Do you know, if this will be documented once or how to get this information?

    Cisco Desktop Recording and Statistics Service (Recording and Statistics service)
    Cisco Desktop Recording Service (Recording service)

    Directory Services
    Those are the services which are listed under the Desktop Services, which I already have.
    You can find in the System Services the Cisco Unfied CCX Engine. This service has several Manager Manager and Subsystem Manager services, like Application Manager or VOIP Monitor Subsystem, etc. I am looking for a description of those services. As from the TAC Engineer there seems to be no documentation about it.
    My question is, if this will be ever documented or where I get this information?

                 Can you please explain me what is the difference between Service Pack, Service Release, Support Pack, Note, Package and also some more terms which I might have missed. I am not clear with these terms. And also confused what to use when while talking in a group. Thank you.

    Service Pack is the collection of a set of functionalities that is required for the computer for protection and other application perspectives.  
    Support Package is also similar to it and is applied for upgradation of s/w component and removing the error i.e, exists  in the components. It is the combination of many SNOTE.
    SNOTE corrects the erroneous object (code) of the component by replacing it with the correct object.
    Also , collection of  support packages are called as Support Package Stack, that can be used for many s/w components.
    Service Release refers to the date on which these software application or tools was introduced to the market, it contains the Version No. that gives information about the previous release of this software (with earlier features).
    U can get detailed informaton of downloading, applying  support packages, snote ,etc in
    sdn , help.sap.com and service market place.

  • CallManager Engineering Special, Developer Package and Service Release

    Does somebody knows the relation between Callmanager Engineering Special (ES), Developer Package (DevPack) and Service Release (SR)?

    a Service Release is an update of a specific software. these updates contain fixes, enchancements, etc available to the general public through download.
    a Engineering Special is a specific fix for a specific problem. these are generally not in any currently available Service Releases. (hench the specialRelease; these should end up in an SRs eventually; usually the next available one)
    Engineering Specials are usually available through TAC for resolution of a problem not currently resolved in SRs.
    not sure of a DeveloperPack but do know of DevPacks (Device Pack)
    a Device Pack is essentially one or more Engineering Specials for specific devices. not yet available in current SRs until the next SR or product version.

  • How often to restart UCCX services?

    Hi,
    Is there Cisco documentation on how often services should be restarted, or the entire cluster be restarted? The reason why I ask is that we have services running for 588 days since the deployment of our UCCX cluster. I have restarted various services here and there to resolve certain issues, but have not restarted the whole cluster and I think it's due time. I'm a little nervous about it, to be quite honest. Any insight?

    I would again stand by the fact that a reboot is not necessary until a problem has been identified and the root cause is known to be resolved by the reboot.
    Well, if you ask me the procedure to reboot a cluster in a HA environment, then
    (Assuming your UCCX Version is 8.x and above)
    ++ Reboot Node 1
    ++ Wait for all the services to come up. You can monitor by the CLI "utils service list".
    ++ Once they are STARTED, reboot node 2.
    ++ Wait for the all the services to come up
    ++ Check for the services under Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability -- Tools -- Control Center Network Services
    ++ Also good idea, to check the replication from Cisco Unified CCX Serviceability -- Tools -- Datastore Control Center -- Replication Servers. The status for both the nodes should be 'Connected' and 'Active'
    Also, a good idea would be to use the release notes of the UCCX version that you are running on and find if there are any known issues which involved a reboot as the solution.

    I have tried with insert operation too, but the issue is the same.
    NOTES:
    - I haven't proxy.
    - I have activated "Integration Web Services" privileges.

    The login is correct over CRM OD (in uses WS CRM OD page I can see them), but the WS doesn't do the operation (query an account). It seems can't send the message.

    Thank you for your suggestion. I tried that and I got the same error. Looked more careful at it:
    Exception java.io.IOException: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: cannot execute
    I tried to execute it manually:
    $ l /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    -rw-rw-r-- 1 marius marius 1.9k Dec 2 19:20 /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    $ /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    bash: /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc: Permission denied
    Did
    $ chmod a+x /my/home/data/opt/jdeveloper/jdev/bin/ojc
    which solved the execution. Now Hello word works.
    I got jdeveloper as a .zip archive, which doesn't keep unix permissions. The Linux distribution should be in .tgz archive, it would have avoided this problem.

    I had a same situation. user posted invoice on 10/10/2011 and he changed price determnition date in po from 10/10/2011to 9/09/2011 on 15/10/2011. he changed this after invoice posted. Now we are unable to release the invoice. Previously 10/10/2011 invoice blocked due to quantity variance. Invice not appearing mrbr list. Now we are unable to release the invoice. we had tried t reverse the invioce but we are unable t do that. can you plz suggest how t proceed further.
