UCCX 8.0 HA Deployment Type

All,
I am testing UCCX 8.0 PRE HA and have the following questions about HA deployment Type.
Before UCCX 8.0, UCCX only supports HA on the same Campus LAN, i.e. two servers should be in the same subnet. UCCX 8 now supports HA over WAN. From UCCX 8.0 SRND, the deployment types are:
LAN: Two servers are in the same Campus LAN
WAN: HA server is in another site.
What I want to find out:
I would like to put two servers in separate Data Centres (different subnet). However, two data centres are linked by fibre. Round Trip Time is very short and the bandwidth is unlimited. Can I configure the HA deployment type as LAN, but with servers in different subnets?

I contacted the PDI Helpdesk and they gave me this feedback :
LAN and WAN in this context means delay and latency, not ip addresses and subnets.So, if the servers are in the same building or campus, then they are over LAN.The difference between UCCX over LAN and UCCX over WAN is failure detection and recovery."For HA over LAN deployment, heartbeats are sent every half a second and failover occurs if 5 consecutive heartbeats are missed. For HA over WAN deployment, heartbeats are sent every second and failover occurs if missing 10 consecutive heartbeats. Cannot delete last Deployment Type as it is referenced by a previously deleted Deployment Type

Hi guys...
I have previously created dependencies between two (2) separate Application's Deployment Types (DT) as such:
"DT_A in Application_A" depends on
"DT_B in Application_B"
During some test procedures, we have deleted the whole of Application_A (along with all its DTs).
Now, we are unable to delete DT_B as well as it complains that it is still being referenced by (the already deleted)
DT_A. Obviously we can't delete Application_B as a whole as it is still complaining that
DT_B is still being referenced.
The References tab in
Application_B still shows that it is still being referenced by Application_A even though searching from the Console as well as Get-CMApplication does not show any more of the deleted
Application_A
The last and only Revision in
Application_B's Revision History cannot be deleted as its Delete button is greyed out.
However, the View button can be clicked and it shows the historical revision during the time when Application_A still referenced Application_B.
Any ideas on how we can delete Application_B ? Is deleting Applications and DTs via SQL Query possible ?

Yup... got it done via Remove-WmiObject...
1. First, find the offending Application_A still referencing the Application_B
!!AND MAKING SURE IT IS THE CORRECT ONE!! via:
Get-Wmiobject -Namespace "root\SMS\Site_PRI" -Class SMS_Application | Where-Object { $_.LocalizedDisplayName -eq "Application_A" }
2. Once confirmed that it is the correct Application, remove it by piping to Remove-WmiObject via:
Get-Wmiobject -Namespace "root\SMS\Site_PRI" -Class SMS_Application | Where-Object { $_.LocalizedDisplayName -eq "Application_A" } | Remove-WmiObject
3. Delete the referenced Application_B as per normal procedure via the SCCM Console:
Delete Deployments
Delete Deployment Type(s)
Delete Revision(s)
Retire
Delete Application
Done.

App-v 5 + Script Deployment type not fully installing.

Hello,
I have 1 applications that has 2 Deployment types,1st one is a Driver and the 2nd is a App-v packages ( the driver is needed for the app-v packages )

However, the higher priority Script installs fine, however the App-v packages dose not.
The app-v packages has a dependency that the Scipt deployment must be installed 1st.

I have had similar issues using application model having more then 1 deployment types so i try to avowed them, but this realy should just work.

Like Torsten says, you can't install two DT's from the same Application.
The first DT with all requirements meet, will be installed.
You need to create 2 Applications, otherwise it wont Work.

Looking for an automated way via Powershell to Add global condition (of OS Requirement) to ALL application deployment types.
We currently have over 300+ Applications in SCCM and looking for an automated way of adding a global condition where OS requirement is equal to Windows 7 instead of the default of Any OS.

Missing deployment type tab

I have started attempting to use SCCM 2012 in our business and am following some tutorials online to create deployments, however I don't see the Deployment Type tab in between the Home and Folder tabs. What do I need to to to have this tab show up?

It should appear when you select a deployment type. It's not showing otherwise.
If you select an application without any DT, it will not be displayed either.

You do not select the "deployment type" to see the "deployment types" tab... that would be redundant...
You select the "Application" (or package) to see the "deployment types" tab...
The "Deployment Types" tab shows up even if there isn't a Deployment Type (DT) created for the application...

Machine not running the correct deployment type

I have an application; Office 2013, with multiple deployment types.
These deployment types each install Office with a different MUI.
The requirements on the deployment types are 'Organizational Unit' must be one of xxxxx
I have my final deployment type (i.e. lowest priority) as English, so if it isnt in a foreign OU then English will install.
However, it seems that machines are just running the English one?!
In appIntentEval.log it sees both versions as applicable but runs the English one...
Is the highest priority; 1 or is that the lowest!?
I have English as 13 out of 13.... i.e. a catch all.
Have I got it the wrong way around?

The clients start to evaluate DT with prio 1 and will move on to DT (prio 2 - if DT1 is not applicable and so on ... ).
DT13 will be installed if no requirements are met (DT 1 - 12) - given that there are no requirements on DT13 or if they are met.

I got this powershell script to perform the above task (a query for applications and deployment types from SCCM)
But getting the following error after running the script:

What is Deployment Types of Applications

I create some script installer of applications.
What is deployment types in Applications? It don't like programs of Package. Each programs can create different deployments.
Deployment types has priority property. How to deploy? Only Deploy hight priority or Deploy All(from Hight priority to low )

Only *one* DT per application will be executed on the client (if the requirements are met). The client will try DT2 if the requirements for DT1 are not met etc. The client will not process further DTs if one was executed sucessfully.

Applications with two deployment types makes uninstall button in software center "greyed" out.

SCCM 2012 R2 running on Windows server 2012 with Windows 7 clients.
We are publishing applications to users that are available (not required), so that they can be downloaded from the application catalog web site. We have som applications that needs more then one deployment type (different pre requirements depending
on OS architecture) and when I create two deployment types for one Application the uninstall button in Software center is greyed out? If i remove one of the deployment types so there is just one, well then the Uninstall button is available again.
An example is Itunes. I publish one Itunes application to the store that has two deployment types, one for X86 and another for X64 with requirments on OS architetcure. the correct version gets installed but the uninstall button is not possible to use. If
i remove one of the deployment types then the deployment button is not greyed out.
Is this a bug?

We will be installing CU3 this Friday. During the next week or so, I will deploy the CU3 client to the workstations.
I do not believe that the uninstall button issue will be addressed with this update either, according to what I have read so far.
If, by some small yet profound miracle, my uninstall button regains full functionality, I will gladly let all of you know.
I would hope that Microsoft would address this issue seriously, as I am sure the rumblings of dissatisfaction are beginning to grow louder with each passing CU that ignores the problem.

PCCE 10.5 Lab cannot set PCCE Deployment Type

Now I am trying to install PCCE 10.5 in my lab using single UCS C220 High Density.
I already installed following applications:
1 Cisco Unified CCE Call Server
1 Cisco Unified CCE Data Server
1 Cisco Unified CVP Ops Console Server, co-located with a Cisco Unified CVP Call Server, Cisco Unified CVP Media Server, and Cisco Unified CVP VXML Server.
1 Cisco Unified CM
1 Cisco Unified Intelligence Center
1 Cisco Finesse
When I am trying set PCCE Deployment Type to "Packaged CCE: CCE-PAC-M1 Lab Only", I found following error:
"Error occurred--Internal Server Error. Try again later or contact your system administrator."
I already applied ICM 10.5(1) ES7 referring to CSCuq32014 to solve this problem. Unfortunately I am still have the same problem.
Please advise how to solve this problem.

Hi JT,
During this lab, I get an error message when I choose Deployment Type "Package CCE: CCE-PAC-M1 Lab Only". There is no error message when I choose "Package CCE: CCE-PAC-M1" and "UCCE 450 Agents Progger".
I found solution:
Step #1: Choose "UCCE 450 Agents Progger"
Step #2: Then I change it to "Package CCE: CCE-PAC-M1 Lab Only". I didn't get an error message again.
I am not sure, this is fail in validation rule or other things.

SCCM 2012 use PowerShell to create a GlobalCondition, limiting the Deployment Type of an Application to certain operating systems.

Title says it all basically.
In the GUI im able to create a Global Condition (condition type: Expression) where I can add a clause that Limits the deployment type of an application to certain operating Systems (useful for deploying 64-bit apps).
Is there away to Trigger that Setting using PowerShell? So far I haven't found one.

Application Deployment Type Content Locations in CM 2012 R2 DB

Hello,
Does anyone know the view or table in the SCCM DB for an application's deployment type's content location?
I found the package view which lists all packages content info. but haven't been able to find the content location for our application's deployment types.
Any help would be appreciated.

The information is stored in v_ContentInfo.ContentSource
you can use this query to view the Content Source for each application:

Updating deployment types, do I need to update content?

Computers Deployed Type Projection

I need to have a view which contains the following fields for display.
1. Computer Properties like manufacturer, model, Serial number asset status (from the class computers deployed)
2. Computer advanced properties like Primary user for the computer, user city etc., (from the class computers advanced)
how to have a type projection so that i can get the combined Display fields from both the above mentioned classes.

UCCX Upgrade wit CAD deployment task

Hi All,
As we know that after we do the uccx upgrade, CAD also needs to be done.
The problem is I have around 300 agetns with CAD and doing a upgrade one-by-one is not a good idea.
is there anyway to do a batch deployment ?

Bear in mind that if you want to allow users to auto-upgrade, they must have administrative access to their PC; that's not usually the case.
