UCCX 8.5.1 Enable Intregation with CUPS 8.5 Problem

We have a CUCM/CUPS running fine (8.5 versions), also CUP/CUPS client work fine.
If we try to intregrate our UCCX Agents into CUPS using Cisco Desktop Administrator we get the following error:
"CDAUI2034 Invalid Cisco Unified Presence Cluster User credentials. Configured user must de able to run SOAP queries."
Publisher Address/Version  is correct (8.x)
Publisher Host (CUP Server) is correct          (have only one Server in the cluster)
Publisher User Login ID is a valid (The user is configured as CUPS users on CUCM with all groups/ enabled)
The installation states that the user has to have valid credentials as a standar agent and cannot be the Admin user (whcih would normally be used for AXL connection)
cad85ccxtg.pdf (CAD Troubleshooting) refer this error but only says to revise user credentials.
When we integrated the CUP Server into the CUCM installarion, had to generate from the CUP server the cup.pem certificate and import it under Call Manager, is there any missing step or certificate exchange to be done?
Can anyone help?

Anand
Thak you for your response, we have double checked DNS resolution either host name or FQDN and its OK.
Setting specific SOAP permission is cumbersome, on CUPS Server you can only assign Group Roles to Application Users, not End Users. Unde Call Manager which has AD LDAP integration, we select any Agent/Suopervisor users, assign all possible goup roles even SuperUser, but still get tthe same Presence Integration error within UCCX (8.5.1) Web Desptop Administration:
Web"CDAUI2034 Invalid Cisco Unified Presence Cluster User credentials. Configured user must de able to run SOAP queries."
Were does explicitly SOAP permissions are granted to any users?

  • CAD login failure with CUPS integration

    OK so here we go,
    UCCX System version: 8.5.1.10000-37
    Cucm System version: 8.6.2.20000-2
    CUPS System version: 8.6.4.11900-1
So we've integrated UCCX desktop with CUPs fine, CAD user goes to login gets error asking for Presence creds.
CUPS and CUCM are Ldap authenticated integrated.
I've manually tested logging users into Jabber desktop and Cups user (web login) and both login fine with the same ldap user ( CAD uses this login too)
If I click cancel on CAD login agent logs in fine to CAD, however if I try login to chat gets rejected even though creds are the same.
Have manually input creds into CAD when prompted for Presence login (still gets rejected)
Weird how creds work for Jabber but not getting passed through, have restarted all servers in cluster.
    Any input welcome.
    Thanks in advance,
    Liam

    Hi Liam
This is a particularly poorly implemented feature.
Basically pre 9.0 I think it doesn't do any authentication to CUPS. What you need is an entry in the 'Incoming ACL' (in the system/security/incoming acl menu I think) for the IP address of each PC that will use this feature. My understanding is this basically bypasses authentication.
In 9.0(2) that i upgraded to this week, it supports digest auth. The description from the admin guide is that you must set the digest creds on the CUCM end user to match the user's login password. Well... that's just great security isn't it? 'Please may I have your AD password so I can add a feature to your CAD? Oh, and tell me every time you change it so I can update it'....
There are also a host of bugs I found - you can't search for contacts in Web CDA to add them to contact lists in larger ADs, it doesn't seem to show the status of any internal or external contacts properly, and upgrading to 9.0(2) only made it slightly better.
I get the feeling not many people have used this, or there wouldn't be so many issues...

  • Enable - Create With Reference in Sales order

    Hi All,
I want to enable - Create With Reference in Sales order
We have 1 billing doc type YX1 to be used as reference for a sales order type ZX3
How to enable Create with reference from Sales Document type YX1 to Sales Document type ZX3.
Currently, I am getting error 'Copying from sales document type YX1 to ZX3 is not supported'.
Please let me know the steps to be followed.
    Thank you!
    Regards,
    Shanu Jain

    Hi,
The error clearly suggests that there is no copy control maintained b/w invoice YX1 and sales order type ZX3. You need to maintain that in SPRO > Sales and Distribution > Sales Documents > Copy control for sales documents. (You may check the correct node here). Here, you select the billing document to sales document.
Check for source and destination. You can take the source as F2 and CR (if ZX3 is a credit Memo request) as Destination document. You can copy the same and change the source and destination as YX1 as source and ZX3 as destination. Then, at the item level, if you have a new item category you can specify it as the 'Proposed Item Category'. Save it.
Now try to create the sales document ZX3 w.r.t YX1... It should work.
    Hope this helps
    Thanks

  • Does scripts of UCCX 9.0.2 will work with UCCX 10.5

Currently we are having UCCX 9.0.2-10000-71 installed on MCS server. We are planning to migrate on BE7K UCS server with version uccx 10.5.
    1. Does scripts of UCCX 9.0.2 will work with UCCX 10.5
    2. How i can restore historical data from 9.0.2 uccx to 10.5 uccx as new server will be having different IP address hence we cannot restore the backup. We need to create all configuration manually. Also uccx 9.0 was supporting Historical Reproting but 10.5 supports CUIC, so there is any way we can restore the reporting data so that we can pull old reports using CUIC as well.
    Thanks & Regards
    Netplace

    Hi
Sounds like you have a lot to learn and should leave the upgrade to someone who knows the products.
    1. Yes, typically they work, but testing this will be part of your upgrade process. The script may contain anything from basic steps (that will work) to complex stuff or embedded Java.
    2. You would not restore the data. It's not possible. What you would do normally would be to change the IP address of the existing system either before or after the upgrade. CUIC and HRC are difference interfaces to the same DB, so it doesn't matter.

  • Enabling SSO with Weblogic Server

    Hi,
Can someone please forward some documention on enabling SSO with Weblogic server for different applications using the admin console.
Is enabling SSO only possible programmatically??
Is there an external server amongst the Weblogic Platform that maintains this SSO information??
    Regards,
    Mukta

    Pradeep,
Here are some questions for you.
    1. what version of Weblogic App Server you are using?
    2. Is it a weblogic Portal or a Java application deployed
       on a Weblogic App Server?
    3. You have mentioned that the users are stored in a table. Is it a database table ?
Anyway see the following link as a starting point?
    http://e-docs.bea.com/wls/docs81/jconnector/security.html#1216783
If the customer has lot of other web applications that they want to integrate you can look at third party authentication solutions (Ex: Siteminder). But if it is a few or limited applications then custom solution would be more appropriate from the cost perspective.
Hope this can be a starting point.

  • Canon Pixma MP-540 (and other) does not work with Cups 1.4

Since Cups 1.4 my printer does not work
its 100% about Cups 1.4 beceause after an downgrade to 1.3 it worked perfect. After upgrade to 1.4 again nothing worked.
So my question, could there be maybe a package called cups-legacy. I heard about other Canon printers + non canon printers which not work with Cups 1.4 in case of binary distributed drivers

I had a similar problem with my MP780 and solved it by adding a custom udev rule. See http://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Cup … ermissions. This is my udev rule:
    SUBSYSTEM=="usb", ENV{DEVTYPE}=="usb_device", ATTR{idVendor}=="04a9", ATTR{idProduct}=="1707", GROUP:="lp", MODE:="0660"
    and lsusb output:
Bus 001 Device 003: ID 04a9:1707 Canon, Inc. PIXMA MP780 Scanner
. Hopefully this will be fixed by hal/devicekit/udev upstream but it all seems a bit of a jumble atm, to me anyway.

  • Segmentation fault when enabling replication with SQL API

    Hi,
I've compiled BDB 5.3.21 on Ubuntu 11.04 (x86) with the following configure options:
    ../dist/configure enable-sql enable-sql_compat enable-debug enable-tcl --with-tcl=/usr/lib
I was able to follow the Replication Usage Examples given in "Getting Started with the SQL APIs" to set up a set of replicated master/client databases.
However, after I exited out of the dbsql session that started replication on the master database and re-opened the master database with dbsql, executing "pragma replication_initial_master=ON;" followed by "pragma replication=ON;" led to a segmentation fault. gdb showed that the segmentation fault occurred at:
    dbsql> pragma replication=ON;
Program received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.

Thank you for reporting this. I have been able to reproduce this crash in-house.
You need to specify the replication_initial_master and replication pragmas as part of initially creating your SQL database. The replication_initial_master pragma is not used or needed after the initial database creation at the initial master site. The replication=on pragma is a persistent setting that we remember internally the first time you specify it. This means that after specifying replication=on for the first time on a site, we will automatically restart replication for you in future dbsql sessions when we open the underlying Berkeley DB environment.
This gives you a very simple workaround: don't respecify replication=on when you reenter dbsql.
Of course, we shouldn't be crashing on an unnecessary pragma. I have added this to our list of fixes to consider for the future.
    Thanks,

Hi , I suhail khan from india and i am user of iMac system 10,1.These days i am facing the sound enabling issue with my iMac system I am not able to hear sound in my iMac system. So kindly suggest me how to enable sound in my iMac . Please no the needful.

Take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried.
    1. If you've recently plugged anything into the audio-out (headphone) port, plug and unplug it a couple of times.
    2. From the menu bar, select
     ▹ System Preferences ▹ Sound ▹ Output
Check the settings. The internal speakers should be selected as the output device, the Mute box should not be checked, and the volume slider should be at least halfway to the right.
    3. Look inside the headphone port. If a red light is coming from the port, the internal switch is stuck in the position for digital output. You may be able to free it by inserting and removing a headphone mini-stereo jack of the proper size.Inserting any kind of tool in the port may cause damage that won't be covered by your warranty.
    4. Boot in safe mode by holding down the shift key at the startup chime. It will take much longer than usual. You don't have to log in; just reboot as usual (without holding any keys) when the login screen appears. (Note: If FileVault is enabled under OS X 10.7 or later, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t boot in safe mode.)
    5. Reset the NVRAM.
    6. Reset the SMC.
    7. Reinstall OS X after backing up all data as a precaution. You won't need your backup unless something goes wrong.
    8. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store.
Back up all data on the internal drive(s) before you hand over your computer to anyone. If privacy is a concern, erase the data partition(s) with the option to write zeros* (do this only if you have at least two complete, independent backups, and you know how to restore to bare metal from any of them.) Don’t erase the recovery partition, if present.
*An SSD doesn't need to be zeroed.

  • SPM integration with CUP 5.3

All the issues regarding SPM integration with CUP is resolved, with the exception of one which is mentioned below:
Any user can go and raise a request for the FF ID from CUP Super User Access workflow, and are created in the backend, but they do not get the access to FF ID when trying to Login.
My query: is there any means to capture the user detail much in advance while the request is processed in the workflow and reject the request before it could be created and stored in backend.
Ideally The user not having minimum privilege of u201C/VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTERu201D should not Login with the FF ID, which is met here, but this is checked only after the user get the access to FF ID and try to LOG into FF ID using his Login detail.
Please put some clarity on this.
    Thanks,
    Abhimanu Singh

    Hi Sabita,
Thanks for the reply but this do not answer my question. Let me come in detail on this topic:
    SAP Backend:
We have FF ID Owner, FF ID Controller, FF ID and Firefighters in the Backend.
FF ID owner has the minimun role required for becoimng the owner is /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_ID_OWNER.
FF ID Controller created with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_ID_OWNER for the monitoring purpose of all the reports.
FF ID is defined with the defined task in the role being assigned to it.
Firefighter is created with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTER to get the access to FF ID for the limited period as defined by the FF ID Owner.
    For example:
FF ID Owner: User ID is FFO
FF ID Controller: User ID is FFC
FF ID: User ID is FID
    Firefighter: User ID is FFS
    Now the Question is from
    SAP Frontend Java stack
I can see that the users(other than FFS) who are not defined as firefighter in the backend can still go and put a request for the FF ID access and gets provisioned.
When you go and check in the backend with the firefighter Owner ID/FF Administrator ID you can see the requested user listed there with the limited time period in the firefighter list.
Now comes the real picture: when this user(other than FFS) tries to login using his user ID he will not get the FF ID Login link on the page which is ideally correct. This is because any user not defined as firefighter in the backend with the minimum role /VIRSA/Z_VFAT_FIREFIGHTER should not get the access to FF ID.
    My question comes here:
Is there any option in the frontend which could inform the user (other than FFS) much in advance and stop him requesting for the FF ID which has no meaning since it is finally not going to get the access in the backend to the FF ID.
Please get back to me if you require some more information.
    Thanks,
    Abhimanu Singh

So it seems to be identifying the files correctly as postscript, and then tries to conver it to a pdf using its pstopdf filter, then proceeds to run pdftopdf for some reason, filter it through foomatic-rip and then through the fprint filter (mine).
I have no idea why it needs to go through all those filters first, however it fails early,at the pstopdf step:
    pstopdf 6 args: 167 andrew notes.ps 1 nocollate Duplex=None InputSlot=Default number-up=1 outputorder=normal PageSize=A4 position=center Resolution=600x600dpi nowrap job-uuid=urn:uuid:08c52a0f-73f7-3ac7-7632-7ee1e4465007 job-originating-host-name=localhost time-at-creation=1355819277 time-at-processing=1355819277 /var/spool/cups/d00167-001
    PID 7895 (/usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf) stopped with status 1.
I looked at /var/spool/cups/d00167-001 and it is a faithful copy of the postscript file, but running the command from the command line produces:
    # /usr/lib/cups/filter/pstopdf 167 andrew notes.ps 1 nocollate Duplex=None InputSlot=Default number-up=1 outputorder=normal PageSize=A4 position=center Resolution=600x600dpi nowrap job-uuid=urn:uuid:08c52a0f-73f7-3ac7-7632-7ee1e4465007 job-originating-host-name=localhost time-at-creation=1355819277 time-at-processing=1355819277 /var/spool/cups/d00167-001

Running the command without the options produces a PDF file on stdout.
The questions seem to be, why does CUPS try to convert a Postscript file to a PDF and then back to Postscript via foomatic-rip, and why does that conversion fail for me?
Incidentally I am using one of the Generic Postscript PPD files
    Thanks for any guidance
    Andrew

Turns out this whole thing was nothing to do with CUPS, but resulted from my root partition filling up.
    Embarrasing or what?
    Sorry

  • Does CUCM 9 come with CUP's 9 free

Does CUCM 9 come with CUP 9 free ? if so is they any documentation - which says this

Yes although the Jabber for Everyone promotion is also available in the 8.6 release as well. Essentially the server software is given away as long as the customer purchases the minimum 50 UCL/UWL users for CUCM and covers CUCM with ESW/UCSS. Everyone in the organization is entitled to IM&P functionality but any softphone/video functionality still requires a license. Example: your company has 100 employees but you buy 50 UCL/UWL licenses. 50 people can have softphone but everyone can chat.

  • Can I replace CUA with CUP. If not why or what will be the risks

    Hi,
The client does not want to have two provisioning systems CUP & CUA. The sole purpose they are using CUA is the proper accounting for SAP licenses such that the user ID remains the same across the landscape. No other purpose of using CUA. In this case can I replace CUA with CUP 5.3 SP12.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Sanjeev

There are limitations to doing that.
CUA has a technology focus and does not take access risk into consideration at all. The long-term successor of this would be Netweaver Identity Management. If you want to consistently manage user master data and license information, that's probably the solution to look at.
You can perfectly use CUP on top of that to manage authorizations. You can also force CUP to only allow user IDs from a central system like CUA or ActiveDirectory in order to enforce user ID consistency.
What CUP will not do is give you an overview of where a user is maintained with which kind of information/license data. That is something that either CUA (for ABAP only) or Netweaver Identity Management will give you.
    Frank.

  • Printer Setup Utility and trouble with CUPS

Good day! I'm hoping that someone here might help me with a pretty frustrating problem I've run into.
I'm not sure what prompted this, but for some reason, I can't seem to add any printers using the printer setup utility (PSU). I reset the printing system through the PSU, and now, when I try to add a printer, one of three things happen: 1) PSU stops responding, and I have to force quit it, 2) I get the message "error-service-unavailable-error", or 3) the "Add a Printer" window just closes, as though it succeeded, and returns me to an empty PSU screen.
Now, after wrangling with it for a bit, I found that when I went to the CUPS web interface (localhost:631), I couldn't navigate throughout it. That is, localhost:631 brought me to the interface, but I couldn't get to any of the rest of the interface to let me look at printers, etc.
So, I suspected that it was a connectivity problem on port 631. Sure enough, I ran nmap and got "631/tcp closed ipp." I tried opening it on my router and on the firewall, to no avail. So, I mucked around /etc/cups/cupsd.conf and set CUPS to listen on Port 631 (even though it should have already been listening already on localhost:631, according to the .conf file), and voila: nmap yields "631/tcp open ipp"
Too bad that's not my problem, it would seem. Now, all that happens is I try to add a printer, and the dialog closes when I press add, to no effect.
I've tried using the Printer Setup Repair Utility ( http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/26660&mode=feedback ) to check all my permissions and setup, as well as replace the cupsd.conf file, which only renewed the 631 port problem), repairing my permissions, changing permissions on /var/spool/cups to 700, trashing the files in /Library/Printers/, restoring them, restarting cupsd, restoring the cupsd.conf file from the cupsd.conf.default file, most everything I can think of.
And one more symptom: when I try to delete printers using the CUPS web interface, I get a 403 Forbidden message reading "You don't have permission to access the resource on this server." I tried the suggestions on http://www.oreillynet.com/cs/user/view/cs_msg/9184 to no avail.
So in short, I'm hoping that someone has some suggestions, ideas, or solutions? Anything would be great. I've been stuck on this for a couple days, and I'm going to be needing a printer pretty soon now.
Thanks in advance for your help!
    Gratefully,
    a.

I'm still struggling with this problem: whenever I try to print, the application from which I'm printing freezes. I've attached the error report from one such instance of attempting to print from Preview. Maybe someone could help me make sense of it?

  • Still necessary to manually install kernel modules with CUPS?

I'm just setting up my system with CUPS for printing. In the "Configuring CUPS" section of the wiki, you're instructed to install the appropriate kernel module with modprobe for using a usb or parallel port printer. With my usb printer and kernel 2.26.9 I found this is unnecessary. Plugging in the printer caused the module to automatically load. Is this because I'm using input hotplugging? And in any case, should the wiki be edited to reflect situations where loading the module manually is no longer necessary?

Sure, feel free to edit the page to reflect what you're seeing, which is udev autoloading the appropriate module when it detects the device. This functionality has been in place for a long time, and is not related to input hotplugging as used in xorg (not sure if that's what you're referring to above).

  • Is any 3rd party hardware/platforms  required to enable communi with SAP?

    Hi Gurus,
What server side hardware/platforms are required to enable communication with SAP mobile devices? What would be a typical production setup? Would there be any 3rd party components here that would require licensing?
    Thanks in Advance,
    Dharani

    Hi,
if you want to communicate with SAP Mobile devices - you need a SAP Netweaver installation in Mobile UsageMode. This is called the middleware system. It is not recommended to have this setup onn your Backend system but to have a dedicated server for it - cause of Workload, performance and monitoring.
If you run MI client on a PDA - then you need to install NSICom Creme as Java runtie on PDA - but the license is already included in SAP MI lizensing cost.
If you have to support larger Datasets, then you might need to install DB2e as persistence layer. This causes an additional licensing you need to pay to IBM - I think via SAP, but well, at the end you need to pay something on top if you run DB2e. The normal used persistence is free of charge. It is called FileIO up to MI7.0, with MI7.1 it is called MinDB.
So all you really need, is a dedicated Netweaver Mobile Box.
    Hope that helps!
    - oh I have seen - check your other post on that topic as well .--- this post here is for occasionally connected apps - this other post talks about MobileOnline as well---
