UCCX and CUCM Upgrade

Hi All - We are planning to go for CUCM direct upgrade from 7.1.3 - 9.1.2
Also for UCCX from 7.0.1 SR5 ---> 8.5.1 --> 8.5.1 SU3 --> 9.0.2
During upgarde of UCCX 8.5.1 on UCS Machine it will ask to eneter CUCM AXL user Credentails which is in 9.1.2, So we need to know is that correct way by doing so since UCCX is 8.5.1 and CUCM 9.1.2
Also i checked few PDF'S where i can get below info.
These Unified CM versions are supported - 8.0(1), 8.0(2) and all SUs, 8.5(1) and all SUs, and Unified CM 8.6.2.22033 and later.
Does it mean CUCM 9.1.2 is compatible with UCCX 8.5.1 and 8.5.1 SU3.

Refer to this document for all CCX compatibility details including which version you can upgrade from:
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
CUCM 9.1.2 is compatible with CCX 8.5SU4 for example.
Also, you can upgrade to CCX 9.0.2 directly from 7.0.2ES3.

Chris

  • NAT between IPIVR (or UCCX) and CUCM?

    Hi,
i would like to know if NAT between IPIVR (or UCCX) and CUCM is allowed? (with ASA only or also router and switch).
I didn't find anything about it in UCCX SRND.
    thanks
    [IPIVR v8, CUCM v7.1(5).]

    Hello,
    1) Yes, please use sip trunk as the interface between cme and cucm.
    2) Please note: officially  cme sip trunk video is only supported for cme1—sip trunk---cme2 type set up, but for  basic call you could try to setup cucm to use early media on the sip  trunk. cme by default would use early media and it should work.
    3) For configuration guide on CME Video, you can refer http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucme/admin/configuration/guide/cmevideo.html#wp1027101
    4) For interfacing CME with CUCM, please remember to configure below command on CME:
           voice service voip
            sip
              asymmetric payload full
    Hope this helps,

  • UCCX After CUCM Upgrade

    Hi All
I am running UCCX 8.5.1.11004-25 and upgrading to CUCM 8.6.2.23900. I have completed several CUCM upgrades with various dependencies but never with UCCX as a dependency. I have checked the compatibility matrix and this all seems fine however i cant find any information on if anything needs to be done to UCCX once i switch versions on CUCM.
Im suspecting that i will need to run a JTAPI re-sync which will download a new JTAPI if it finds a different version ? Is this correct and also is there anything else i need to be watching out for ?
    Thanks, Carl Ratcliffe

Thanks Tanner, quick reply and confirmed what i thought, just didnt want to get caught out at 2 in the morning with something i have missed.
    Thanks, Carl

  • UCCX and CUCM issue

    Hi,
I integrated UCCX 8.5 and CUCM 8.5 in a lab setup using VMware.
Created CTI ports and then some applications including AA application. But when calling from my soft phone to the Trigger, its getting disconnected after 5 seconds. I am not able to hear the prompt also.
Checked and started all the services and resynced all the applications and finally installed CUCM and UCCX again but still the same issue is happening.
    Please give some valuable inputs.
    Regards..

    Hi
You should probably try a debug of the script. Run Script Editor and make sure you log in. The do Debug/Reactive Script, and enter SSCRIPT[aa.aef] in the top box, and 60 in the bottom box.
    Then dial the AA.
One of several things should happen:
    1) Nothing at all - in this case the system can't run the AA script, and you'll have to look at the logs to find out why.
    2) The script will appear, and you can step through it by pressing F10 and see what the script does in real time. As you step through the steps, if you go past a Play Prompt and still get silence, then it might reach a point where it decides you aren't responding and hangs up on you
    3) You might get an error in the script
    Report back what happens...
    Also:
    1) What language configuration do you have on the system?
    2) If you press the ? key on a 79xx twice quicky during the 5 second call, do you see rx packets increasing?

  • UCCX and WFO upgrade

    Hi all,
I need to perform an upgrade for a client of UCCX 7 with Workforce Optimization to the latest and greatest, but I'm having trouble determining exactly what I need to order from the Product Upgrade Tool. Especially with the QM component, as they are running v2.7 and all of the upgrade options listed are either 5,6,7 or 8.
Any help would be most appreciated.
    Cheers,

  • CUCM / UCCX / AQM / WFM Upgrade

    Hi all,
We are getting ready to upgrade a customer's voice system and I've think I may have just hit a snag. Any advice would be very much appreciated
As we are both upgrading to the latest current version and migrating to a virtual environment we had planned on taking a staged approach to minimise impact on the environment. ie Upgrade CUCM, wait a few days to let the dust settle, then upgrade UCCX / AQM / WFM. However, from the AQM release notes it looks as though the CUCM version we are moving to (8.6) requires AQM 8.5(2) or later to function. Does this mean I need to  upgrade AQM at the same time as CUCM?
Also, it says that AQM 8.5(2) supports UCCX 8.5(1) or later. The customer is currently running 8.0(2). I'm concerned that if I upgrade AQM to keep in line with CUCM I'm going to break compatibility with UCCX until I upgrade that too :/
Am I going to need to cut the entire system over in one scary, foul swoop to keep everything from breaking?
Again, any advice will be very much appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Jason

At the end of the day you need to follow the documentation for version compatibility requirements; none of us would be foolish enough to suggest otherwise. Having said that, have you considered upgrading CUCM last instead of first? CCX 8.5(1)SU3 supports several CUCM 8.0 builds. You could upgrade CCX, AQM and WFM on a weekend, wait a few days and then uprade CUCM.

  • CUCM, IMP and CUC upgrade from version 9.1.1 (on VMWare) to version 10.5 (on VMWare)

    Hello,
I have to perform a Refresh Upgrade to 10.5 for a client who has the following UC apps on a virtual environment:
    CUCM version 9.1.1
    IM and Presence version 9.1.1
    CUC (Unity Connection)  version 9.1.1
    A. I see on the CUC Upgrade document below:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/connection/10x/upgrade/guide/10xcucrugx.pdf
P.39 --> Change Guest Operating System after CUC Upgrade to Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (64-bit). But nothing about the Network Adapter.
    B. I see on the CUCM 10.0 Upgrade Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/td/docs/voice_ip_comm/cucm/upgrade/10_0_1/CUCM_BK_U4214F9D_00_upgrade-guide-cucm-100.pdf
    Page. 44:
Step 3: Change the configuration of the VM as needed (Guest OS, ...) Step 4: Modify the Network Adapter to use VMXNET 3 Adapter type as steps before the CUCM upgrade.
    My questions would be:
    1. Do I need to change the Network Adapter for CUC as well? If yes, should this be done before upgrade or after?
    2. What would be the implication of not changing the Network Adapter from "Flexible" to VMXNET3?

    Hi csrlime,
Not sure about future issues by remaining on the flexible adapter but best practice suggests going with what the OVA requires.  I performed a refresh upgrade from 8.5 to 10.5 in a virtualized environment.  For CUCM and CUC I changed the Network Adapter before beginning the upgrade.  The steps I took to make the network adapter change were:
    1.  Download a copy of the vmx file from the server(s) you are upgrading to your local machine.
    2.  Create a back up of that file incase you need to restore it in the future.  From cmd prompt in the same folder as the download .vmx.  copy "<virtual_machine_name>.vmx"
then run the following from you cmd prompt
    copy "virtual_machine_namet.vmx" temp_file.vmx
    findstr /V /R "^ethernet0.virutalDev.*" temp_file.vmx > "virtual_machine_name.vmx"
    echo ethernet0.virtualDev = "vmxnet3" >> "virtual_machine_name.vmx"
Upload the edited vmx file to your the datastore which will replace the current.   Then remove the vm from inventory and then add it back.  Check your setting and the network adapter should be changed to vmxnet3 now.
Steps are from the Read Me file as an option to change it.  I don't why you can't make this change during a maint window.

  • Cucm upgraded from 8.6 to 9.1 and now want to add uri dialing

    Environment:
    Upgraded 8.6.2 to 9.1
    AD Sync users and authentication
    Upgrade went well
I thought that with the upgrade the existing AD integration would bring over the Directory URI or give me the option to choose the Directory URI choices from the existing AD integration.  I went to the existing LDAP Directory integration and I can't choose to sync Directory URI with MSRTCP... or email.  I am forced to create a new LDAP directory so I can have the option to choose.  Fair enough I said... I will create another one pointing to the same AD.  I did that and then I was going to delete the old LDAP directory.  It gives me a warning that all users that were created with this LDAP integration will be deleted.  Yikes!!!
I'm stuck.  Should I sync the new LDAP directory with the URI (which is pointed to the same AD as the old one) then delete the old LDAP Directory?  Will my users stay intact?

I found a note in the documentation that expkained that MSRTCSIP... URI needs to be populated manualy or if the user was/is a Lync user it is populated automatically by Lync.  Easy fix was add all users as Lync users then delete users as Lync users and then the AD attribute stays populated.

  • CUCM Upgrade from 8.6(2a) / 8.6.2.20000-2 to 8.6.(2a)SU2 (8.6.2.22900-9)

    I'm getting ready to upgrade a client's CUCM cluster from 8.6(2a) / 8.6.2.20000-2 to
8.6.(2a)SU2 (8.6.2.22900-9).  They use extension mobilty with UCCX version 8.5.1.11003-32.
Does anyone know of any issues with ugprading this cluster vis a vis their UCCX version ?
The current CUCM Version 8.6(2a) / 8.6.2.20000-2 shows a JTAPI shows the following JTAPI version:
    admin:show packages active cm-jtapi-
    Active Side Package(s): for cm-jtapi- package(s)
    cm-jtapi-plugin-8.6.2.10000-2
From the ReadMe For Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 8.6(2a)SU2
    http://www.cisco.com/web/software/282074295/93949/cucm-readme-862asu2.pdf
    I see that it shows:
    cm-jtapi-plugin-8.6.2.10000-10.i386.rpm
Once I have performed the CUCM upgrade - do I need to upgrade the JTAPI plugin on the UCCX Platform?
    TIA

    Mohamed,
I have not actually peformed the upgrade yet.  If you have done so - please reply with any lessons learned that you have.
I would upload the file to all the servers in your cluster prior to your upgrade maintenance window.  This should not be service impacting.
Then during your upgrade maintenance window -
    Step 15 Once the Publisher and the subscribers have been upgraded, a version switch must be completed so                  the servers reboot to the new upgraded partition as follows;
Web Browse to the Publisher’s OS Administration GUI
To restart the system and activate the upgrade, choose Settings > Version; then, click Switch Version.
The system restarts and should be running the upgraded software. Once the Publisher is accessible, proceed with the subscribers.
    Good Luck,
    Amir

  • CUCM upgrade 8.6 to 10

    Hi
will update the version 8.5 to version 10
I have a question I hope you can help me.
I can directly upgrade from version 8.5 to 10
Upgrade to version 10 first I have to upgrade to version 9?
I need licensing for the upgrade? If yes, what kind of licensing need
if I have a CCX CUCM version 8.6 and version 10, can be operated simultaneously or me creates problems ??
it is necessary that all virtual machines (CUCM, IM, PRESENCE, CCX) run the same version is ccx CUCM 10 and 10.
are the procedure for good update.
    Some documentation to recommend me.
    I am at your service.
    Greetings.

The upgrade guide and compatibility doc for 10.x cover upgrade paths
Your licenses will be migrated to PLM, you can reach [email protected] if you need further assistance
The UCCX compatibility matrix covers all the details about UCCX version and CUCM compatible releases, you need to review it.
CUCM and IM&P need to be in the same major release, at the X.Y level in most releases, except 10.5(2) which is only compatible with 10.5(2). As for UCCX, see above.
For the upgrade you need to review for every product:
    A) RNs
    B) Upgrade guide
    C) Changed and new info doc, either as standalone or sometimes with the RNs
ALL the above information is available on cisco.com for you to review.

  • Exchange 2013 SP1 and CUCM 9.1.2 - Exch not recognizing called extension

I think I'm almost there in getting Exchange 2013 SP1 UM working with CUCM 9.1.2...I've got two issues at the moment that I need a little help with.
    1) When I dial my VM pilot (6040) from a UM enabled extension it prompts to enter an extension. When I dial the same extension and let it ring to VM, Exchange picks up and says "the person you are trying to reach does not have a valid voice mail box
    on our system".
    2) This just started happening this afternoon, when I dial my VM pilot (6040) exch3 picks up as thats what I have my route pattern pointing to. If I enter the extension of a mailbox on exch2, I get stuck in a endless loop.
I've followed this post as a guide but it hasn't resolved my issue.
    https://supportforums.cisco.com/discussion/11914031/exchange-2013-um-and-cucm-86
My Exchange environment looks like this:
    Site 1:
exch1 - CAS/Mailbox, used for mainly utility type work, journal, dedicated SMTP flows etc
    exch2 - CAS/Mailbox, part DAG13
    exch3 - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    Site 2:
    exch2dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
    exch3dr - CAS/Mailbox, part of DAG13
DAG13 is stretched between two sites, there are no users at our DR site so CUCM is pointing to Site 1 for UM. Each site has an internet facing CAS-only server for OWA/EAS etc.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I'd love to get rid of Unity.
    EDIT:
I just found this event in the event logs:
The Microsoft Exchange Unified Messaging service on the Mailbox server received a diverted call with ID "d51600-3a3140c5-9b8-c1414ac@EXCH3-IPADDR" for extension "4099" on UM dial plan "CUCM" from UM IP gateway "CUCM IP",
but no UM-enabled mailbox for the corresponding extension could be found. Please check the extension and make sure that the corresponding mailbox is enabled for UM and associated with the correct UM dial plan.

9.1.2 I think it is, we upgraded to avoid the known DNS bug
I cant see how to PM you either
The crux of it was outlined below with some tweaks
    http://blogs.technet.com/b/canitpro/archive/2014/04/30/step-by-step-integration-between-exchange-2013-um-and-cisco-unified-communication-manager.aspx
As we have multiple combined role servers, our trunks are set up as follows:
    1. 1 x CAS Trunk - contains all CAS Servers on port 5060
    2. 4 x MBX Trunks - contains Maibox Server with ports 5062-5068
On top of that, we had to Allow "Redirecting Diversion Header Delivery - Inbound (and Outbound)" on the CAS Trunk but DISABLE it on the Mailbox Trunks
Also, make sure that you are using Telephone Extension Dial plans in Exchange 2013 (Despite them being unable to be associated with a 13 Server - EX13 answers for all calls anyway)
Lastly, the MS documentation is a little strange - it says that as your last step of UM migration, you should point your Call Manager to 2013 - I don't agree with that statement, EX13 routes calls back to 2010 UM Servers perfectly fine, so treat it the same
as any other CAS based service - point to 2013, and it will handle the rest

  • CUCM upgrade from 7.1.5 to 10.5.1.10000-7

Is it possible to do the migration from 7.1.5 to 10.5.1.10000-7 which we are doing for jump upgrade from 7.1.5 to 9.1.2.
The reason why I preferred because this jump upgrade we can achieve in isolated network.
In that case can anybody please help to get specific document for that. Kindly have a look on this case.
    Regards,
    Abi

You can use prime collaboration deployment. PCD will do your upgrade and migration without doing any jump upgrade or intermediate upgrade..
Please refer to the vide below.

  • CUCM upgrade 8.6 to 10.5 7500 user OVA

    Hello,
I'm planning a CUCM upgrade from version 8.6 to 10.5 (both virtualized)   This was deployed using the 7500 user OVA.   In 10.5, the HDD requirement has changed from 2x80 to 1x110.   According to the upgrade guide, I can resize my drives using disk expansion COP file.   My question is, what should the end result be of my drive changes?   Do I change both drives so I end up with 2x110 or do I only change one leaving me with 1x110 and 1x80?
I don't have enough CPU resources to create new VMs and migrate using PCD.
    Thanks,
    Glenn

    Hi Glenn,
My understanding is that the COP file is used to regain used space within the VM in the sense that you do not have enough space to proceed with the upgrade to 10.5.  The COP file essentially removes your inactive partition in order to gain that needed space.  As long as there is enough free space to complete the upgrade I wouldn't modify the drive structure of the VM in question.
    Hope this helps

  • CUCM Upgrade from 9.1.2 to 10.5

    Hi all,
I have tested upgrading CUCM from 9.1.2 to 10.5 in my lab. As i read before, we need some cop files to upload to CUCM before upgrade procedure.
Cisco named this upgrade as <Refresh Upgrade> and during this process, RHEL version will also upgrade with CUCM version.
On my test, i dont upload any cop file before upgrade. Just uprade to 10.5 version.
Before upgrade my RHEL version was 5(32 bit) and after upgrade it is 6(64 bit).
After upgrade, everything seems ok but upgrade took lots of time, like 4 hours.
During upgrade there is no connection to CUCM and i saw blue screen :)
What is your opinion? Will this method work on customer enviroment?
Do you test this procedure before?
    Best Regards,
    Mesut

Dear Carlo & Chris, May I ask you to clarify on below comment which is mentioned in Release note of CUCM 10.5
I don't understand why Cisco has mentioned this, if its not required ? I would appreciate your any inputs.
    Preupgrade COP File
If you are upgrading to Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 10.5(1), or later, from a release earlier than Cisco Unified Communications Manager Release 10.0(1), you must download and install ciscocm.version3-keys.cop.sgn on every node in the cluster. This Cisco Options Package (COP) file has the RSA keys that are required to validate the upgrade. Missing RSA-3 keys will result in status errors in the Software Installation/Upgrade window of the Cisco Unified Operating System Administration interface.

  • CUEAC 9.1.1.10 and CUCM 7.1(5) 64 bit TSP Plugin

    Hello,
I have a customer with CUCM 7.1(5) who has purchased CUEAC 9.1.1.10 and wants to run it on Windows Server 2008 R2 (64 bit).
According to the data sheet this should be supported but when I go through the CUEAC server installation process it tries to download the 64 bit TSP plugin from the CUCM server.
This is a problem as CUCM 7.1(5) does not have the 64 bit TSP plugin - it only has the 32 bit version.
The exact message I get is
Error occured while downloading Cisco TSP.
    Path: https://10.80.20.12/plugins/CiscoTSPx64.exe
I have obtained the 64 bit TSP from a later CUCM and done a manual installation hoping that the installer would see the TSP is already installed and skip the step but it does not do so.
Can anyone suggest how to resolve this?
I know I could use a 32 bit version of Windows Server or upgrade CUCM but these options are not available.
    Thanks

    Update
I built a CUCM 9.x server as a virtual machine and integrated CUEAC with that. The 64 bit TSP downloaded and installed ok and I was hoping that I could then reconfigure the TSP CTI manager addresses and the CUEAC CUCM server to point to the version 7.1 CUCM server.
Unfortunately this did not work as I got a message complaining about version incompatibilities between the CUEAC server and CUCM.
I do not think there is any workaround for running CUCM 7.1 with CUEAC on a 64 bit Windows Server.
Luckily for me the customer found an old Windows 2003 32 bit server that they used to run Cisco ACS on. CUEAC installed without a hitch on this server and is running fine.
If anyone manages to get this working I would be interested to know how.
Lesson here is do not believe Cisco data sheets
