UCCX Finesse silent monitoring for direct dial calls

I completely understand that Finesse is geared towards the inbound contact center, at least for right now.  Although I can't say the marketing materials really stress that.   But I cannot understand the lack of silent monitoring for all call types.  Currently silent monitoring only works for inbound calls from UCCX, and does not function for direct inbound calls, or direct dialed outbound calls.
From a system view, Finesse is using UCM's built in silent monitoring, via a very basic JTAPI command.  There is very little engineering required to enable this functionality, and I truly thing is is a major limiting issue.  Many customers in fact only want the ability to do silent monitoring and basic reporting, and Finesse would be a perfect product for this.
I am considering looking at putting together some custom scripts/web apps to engage the required JTAPI in CUCM via a Finesse Gadget, to replace the built in Finesse silent monitoring function.  I'm curious if anyone has some input on how involved that might be, seems like I just really need to pass the monitoring DN and monitored DN through a JTAPI command.
More importantly, is there any hope for Finesse to support this natively?  Or other outbound features? If it's a feature "in the works" we have a customer who might be able to "get by" using the Cisco Agent Desktop silent monitoring, but only if that is the case.
Good link on silent monitoring capability in Cisco Finesse: http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/products/collateral/customer-collaboration/unified-contact-center-express/white-paper-c11-730883.html

We've got to delimit the problem.
When we use 3rd party recording solution there are 4 RTP flows: 1 incoming to monitored/recorded phone and 3 flows outgoing.
1 incoming RTP flows
- voice of remote phone
3 outgoing RTP flows
- voice of monitored/recorded phone
- voice of monitored/recorded phone sent to 3d party recording server
- voice of remote phone sent to 3rd party recording server
When we use a network analyzer we see that the agent running in the PC (UCCX 5.0) establishes two RTP flows for the monitoring session. But we can see that one of these flows sends 3 packet RTP per 1 packet RTP sent in the other RTP flow (in the same time).
We think agent sends to monitoring device all the outoing RTP packets of the phone (that belong to three different RTP flows), instead of sending only the RTP packets belonging to voice of monitored/recorded phone.
The other flow, voice of remote phone, sounds fine.
Is there a solution to avoid this problem when we monitor with UCCX 5.0 and record with a 3rd party software at the same time?
Thanks,
Christian

  • SIlent Monitoring for Supervisor Tools

    Hi all,
I do have the issue with Cisco Silent Monitoring for the supervisor, they can't heard the agent voice by using the Superviosr Recorded File tools but managed to heard by access the wave file directly from the Cisco UCCX 7.0?
    Do anyone have any idea?

    Hi,
I am not aware of any application included with UCCE.
However, it's relatively easy to build such an application, since CTI OS supports - or, at least, exposes - API calls to start silent monitoring from a third party application. It's even easier with Gen3 phones since they support CUCM-based silent monitoring using their built in bridge (BiB).

  • UCCE 7.5 Silent Monitoring for only primary supervisor

    Hi all,
We currently activate Silent Monitoring for our UCCE platform 7.5 using BIB and CCM based deployment.
I'd like to enable the feature for only the team primary supervisor. Meaning the same supervisor, if configured as secondary for a different team, can not monitor calls of members from that team.
Can someone please give me a hint?
    Thank in advance,
    Best Regards,

If it was CTIOS you could remove the button, recompile and deploy that Supervisor Desktop. But I guess you have CAD.
If it was the Cisco Agent Desktop you could create a workflow, remove a button (make it invisible), and assign this workflow to agents who did not require the function.
Not sure about CSD. I know you can remove buttons for everyone (we removed the one for Dynamic Reskilling) but I can't recall if you get the ability to do more.

  • Finesse silent monitoring vs CUCM whisper coaching

    Hi all,
My understanding is both of these function uses the same resources from CUCM which is the BIB. And the only way to do whisper coaching is through CUCM. So for all the supervisory function (silent monitor, barge, intercept), they will be able to use Finesse Supervisor but when they want to do whisper coaching they will need to use the IP Phone directly by doing silent monitoring first then do whisper coaching. Is that the correct flow?
If setup in such a way, will there be any conflict between Finesse & CUCM?
    Thanks!

You can check out the 3rd Party solution "MARS Silent Monitoring & Whisper App for CUCM" in Cisco Market Place
The solution requires only CUCM.It does not require Cisco UCCX/UCCE.

  • Finesse silent monitoring question

I have below servers and client already setup:
    - Call Manager 10
    - Cisco Unified Call Center Express
    - Cisco Finesse Client for Agent
    - Cisco Finesse Client for Supervisor
I don’t know how to setup silent monitoring to Agent by Supervisor, through BIB (Build in Bridge) in Call Manager.
Could anyone give me some guildline, it is good to give me step by step configuration. Thank you very much.

    Follow the following steps.
    1. Enable the BIB on the agent phone.
    2. Check the agent Calling Search Space  (CSS)
    3. Supervisor line configuration.... check on Monitoring Calling Search Space (CSS) and set it to be the same as Agent CSS.
    I hope that helps

  • Can iPhone be set to silent ring for all unknown calls

I want my iPhone to not ring except for numbers on my contact list.  Can this be done?

I understand what you're recommending, but I wish Apple would provide an option to automatically assign a silent ringtone to all incoming calls from numbers not listed in Contacts.  Then I wouldn't need to go back and assign a ringtone to every single one of my Contacts.
The problem I am trying to deal with is nuisance calls from telemarketers who assign spoof caller ID numbers with international area codes.  My phone number is registered with DoNotCall.gov, but when I enter the numbers from the Caller ID to report them on the DoNot Call website, it says the area codes are incorrect.  It won't recognize international area codes.  Every time I get one of these calls, the caller ID shows a different number.  So there is no way to block using individual numbers.  Plus, the calls aren't really coming from the numbers showing up on the caller ID, so blocking those numbers wouldn't do any good, and there is no way for me to find out the numbers that the calls are actually originating from.  And anyway Verizon Wireless only lets you block up to 10 numbers and I have gotten 10 of these calls in just the past two days.

  • UCCX 7 silent monitor over Windows VPN

We have remote users that connect to our corporate network via Windows VPN.  However we are unable to monitor these users when they work remotely.  Get the "Silent monitor session failed.  Not receiving voice from agent's phone" message.  I'm pretty sure that Windows VPN is not supported by CCX 7 (Premium license).  However wondering if anybody has found a way to circumvent this issue to enable remote users over WVPN to be monitored.

I presume you are using CIPC?
There is no NAT or other packet manipulation happening on the Microsoft VPN head-end is there?
Are you able to open telnet sessions on the ports used for recording from/to CAD and the CCX recording server? This is the most common issue where something is blocking these ports.

  • UCCx 10.5 Silent Monitoring over WAN

I have a client that has agents in remote offices.  They are using UCCx 10.5 HA, split between two data centers.  MPLS network connecting all sites, bandwidth is not a concern.  Some agents are using Citrix XenDesktop, so CAD is being utilized over a Citrix terminal.  They want to start using Silent Monitoring on their agent calls.  Is there a way to make this work over the WAN?
    Thank you,
    Ben

    Hi
The default mode (Desktop Monitoring) requires that CAD can 'see' the stream to/from the phone. The phone/PC must be daisy chained and configured appropriately.
Typically in Citrix your server is remote, and CAD software running on the Citrix server is nowhere near the phone.
The only option you have for this is to set up SPAN/RSPAN on your switches to mirror traffic to the UCCX server. This was the server-side services sniff the traffic for recording/monitoring purposes. It can be tricky to set up, especially if you have a WAN deployment...

  • CUCM Silent Monitoring

    Hi all,
We have UCCX 7.0.1 product in our company, and was wondering if CUCM Silent Monitoring through the Phone's BIB (Build In Bridge) is possible from CSD.
I know UCCE supports Silent Monitoring through CM BIB, but I could not find any document saying that this is supported on UCCX.
I just want to make sure I did not miss something out.
And if anyone knows of any 3rd party application that could trigger the silent monitoring session start on Call Manager.
    It's CUCM 7.0.1
    Many thanks for your help,
    George,

Parsec’s MARS Silent Monitoring application for Cisco Unified Communications Manager allows a supervisor to monitor a conversation between an agent and a customer without either party knowing that they are being monitored.
The customer will not be able to hear the voice of the supervisor.
Contact centers are required to assure the quality of customer service their agents provide to callers. To provide assurance of quality, the ability to monitor the agent-customer conversations is critical to call center business.
This application DOES NOT REQUIRE Cisco UCCX.

  • Media Sense and Silent monitoring

    Hi,
Is silent monitoring isn't available now for UCCX 10.5 and we should order media sense for recoding or still uccx include silent monitoring ?
If still included. What is encourage me to use media sense ? I mean what is the benefits for media sense over silent monitoring.
Also can I use QM and AQM with media sense ? or it is used only by CR ?
Final question: Can I use media sense or CR as a recording solution for CUCM to record all calls or for on demand recording ?
    Thanks

any idea for the above ?

  • Remote silent monitoring

Iam having ICM 5.0 I have a requirement to have my remote supervisor who is sitting in an different country and connect through a IPLC circuit to monitor the local agents we also need to have silent monitoring enabled. Is it possible to have a remote user to listen the calls on a ICM server accross WAN?

    Andy,
Silent Monitor for IPCC is not the same as Remote Silent Monitor.
Remote silent Monitor allows a supervisor in a remote location use a PSTN phone, dial into a IVR and initiate a Monitoring session to an agent.
Silent Monitor for IPCC - supervisor needs to be in front of a desktop and initiate a monitoring session by clicking a Monitor icon on the desktop. voice packets are played on the multimedia speakers on the supervisor PC.
Remote Silent Monitor is offered on the IPCC Express Product currently. It is not offered for IPCC Enterprise and IPCC Hosted Editions.
    Thanks

  • Direct dial a phone number feature is gone

When my phone operating system updated last month the Direct Dial feature is gone. there is a widget for direct dial but it goes into contact list and I still cant just dial a Number...This really sucks the numbers I want to dial are not in my contact list. ***

    Model
    Droid4
    Android version 4.1.2
    Build date 11:25,  2 November 2013
my phone worked great up till 3 weeks ago When the phone did a system update.
I do not dial out much maybe 3 or 4 time a month my phone usage as a "Phone" is almost zero.
So I did not miss the dialer  until I needed to make a call.
the only way I can make a phone call now is to go into my contact and create the contact to dial out then the dialer shows up
Also if someone calls and I do not answer and they leave a message then I can see the call Log and the dialer and i can then Dial out.

  • Direct Dial Icon (Short cut)

Does anyone know how to change the shortcut icons for Direct Dial and Direct Message back to the older style (a green traditional phone handset and a white message bubble)?  It's hard to distinguish the new default icons for Direct Dial, Contact, and Direct Message.  The old icons were much better.

The icons can't be changed back to the older look from the update. It's a slight difference between the icons direct message image on the icon is shifted to the left, direct dial I pointed downward and it will have a green phone in the top right corner and direct contact is shifted to the right.

  • Silent monitoring calls with CUCM 6.0 and UCCX 5.0

    Dear all,
We have just integrated a 3rd party recording solution in our VoIP system, which consists of CUCM 6.0 and UCCX 5.0.
Until now we used the recording and monitoring solution of the UCCX for the agents. This worked ok.
But, as we wanted to record other people's calls and also the outgoing calls of the agents, we have created for them a Recording profile in the CCM and assign it to the agents phone.
We have also mantained the recording and monitoring active for them in the UCCX.
What is happenning now is the following:
    - The 3rd party recordings works perfectly.
    - The recording in the UCCX gets only one way audio.
    - The silent monitoring gets only one way audio.
    - If the 3rd party recording server is stopped, but the recording profile is stil active in the phones, the silent monitoring in the UCCX works.
Could any of you confirm if using a 3rd party recording solution the monitoring still works?
Is there any 3rd party silent monitoring software?
    Thanks in advcance.
