Hi George,
Thanks for posting!
Version 10.0 will not support SRTP and still only interacts with CUCM via CTI-QBE/JTAPI for call signaling. There is direct integration between UCCX and a SIP gateway for outbound, but as soon as the call is answered, it is transferred to CUCM to flow via CTI to UCCX. For now, there is no alternative signaling method and UCCX will not act as a SIP endpoint or B2B UA.
For the certificate question, can you clarify on which specific certificates you're looking for? Tomcat now generates a 2048 bit Certificate Signing Request (CSR) as of 9.0(1) and 8.0(2)SU4 per CSCtr47906. UCCX version 10 will use a lot more certificates, from SocialMiner web-chat, Finesse (both Tomcat and Notification Service for XMPP), MediaSense for tagging, but this mostly uses the Tomcat certificates on the UCCX and MediaSense nodes and certificates that need to be installed on UCCX are stored in the tomcat-trust store.
If you can clarify the request a little bit more, I may be able to provide a better answer.
Thanks,
Ryan

    Hi,
Yes, the previous multi-line behavior still holds true for Finesse in 10.5. The ICD extension has to be on any of the first four button positions on the phone. The current documentation is misleading and I will get it corrected via CSCuq21447. I double checked by testing this on Finesse in 10.5 as follows:
    1. ICD extension in button position 1 - Login successful
    2. ICD extension in button position 4 - Login successful
    3. ICD extension in button position 5 - Login unsuccessful
    Reference CSCue57581, CSCtw68030 and CSCtj08709 still apply.
Let me know if you have other questions.
    Thanks,

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

  • Integrated phone in CAD UCCX version 8

    Hi All
I seem to remember something about an integrated phone in new CAD version for a release of UCCX version 8. From some presentation.
I just can't find any thing about it. Can any one help me to locate info or correct me.

According to the CCX 8.0 CAD User guide, CAD works with IP Communicator, but then it always has. Also there is a mention about Dial Pad being modeless now, seems that it can stay on top.
You have never needed a hard phone if you have a IP Comm phone. This is what I do for remote work all the time.
    Hope this helps.

  • Using time warner road runner. when I try to open up safari to home page I get error message that this version does not support the "community toolbar" can't proceed until closing the error message. sick of seeing it

using time warner road runner. when I try to open up safari to home page I get error message that this version does not support the "community toolbar" can't proceed until closing the error message. sick of seeing it

That toolbar/ct plugin seems to cause problems for all who install it!
Close Safari, then locate and delete the following files and it should be gone:
    /Library/Application Support/Conduit
    /Library/InputManagers/CTLoader
    /Library/Receipts/ctloader.pkg
    /Library/Receipts/<Toolbar name>.pkg
    /Library/Application Support/SIMBL/Plugins/CT2285220.bundle
    /Users/<User name>/Library/Application Support/Conduit
where / is the root library on your Hard Disk.
If you are running Snow Leopard you should also look here:
    Library/launchAgents/com.conduit.loader.agent.plist
    Library/Application support/conduit plugins
    Also, as mentioned by Gilli2000:
Library/Receipts - If you read it, it has information in it at the bottom referring extensively to "CT" and "community toolbar".
Maybe it is harmless, but trash those items anyway!
Note: Safari does not support any third-party toolbars except those supplied as an extension to Safari via the Extension Gallery.

  • When is a message considered as received when using Near Field Communication?

    Hi there!
I'm using Near Field Communication(NFC) in my app(it's a game) and I just want to send very simple messages so the regular NFC tap suffices.
I've read the documentation and went through the proximity sample and I understand what I've to do to make this work, so no problems so far.
The thing I'm struggeling with is the following: I would like to send a message using NFC to a particular player in my game.
Two players are connected to each other and only those two should be supposed to be able to send messages to each other using NFC.
These messages do not contain any secret information so I can use the "Windows." format as tag to subscribe to and send messages with.
I came up with the idea to subscribe for a tag that's basically your userId and publish messages with a tag that consists out of your opponents user_id. All of that works fine the thing is, I use the MessageTransmitedHandler and MessageReceivedHandler, the
one is raised when you've succesfully transmited the message and the other one when you've received a message.
These callback functions make sure that you only send a message once and receive it once by using the StopPublishingMessage and StopSubscribingForMessage functions. And here's the catch, I only want to call these functions if you actually "consume"
the message you receive! And stop publishing a message when the correct opponent received it.(This is to make sure that if multiple users are in the same room for example that only the one's related to each other can tap each other's devices).
Right now the callback function will always stop publishing the message, or subscribing to a message even if you tapped the wrong user.
I'm not 100% sure but I do believe this is because the callback function is called no matter if the other device really "consumed' the message.
So my question is, is there a way to determine if the opposing side actually "consumed' the message? If there's no built in function for this(which I think there isn't after I went through the documentation) do you guys have any idea how I could achieve
    the behaviour I want?
I hope my message isn't too confusing, if it's feel free to indicate that and I'll try to clarify those parts.
    Thanks in advance!
    My best regards
    Jan

Proximity is a great way for users on tow devices to share your app experience and data. You can establish a connection between two peer apps at one time as I know. This quickstart describe it in detail,
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/xaml/hh465205.aspx. If one user want to communicate with a third user, his app need to connect to that one first.
If I'm not mistaken this sets up a WiFi or Bleutooth connection, I'm not really looking for that since the message I wish to send is really really short and NFC is perfect for it. It seems like a hassle to me to set up such a peer to peer connection just to
be able to identify if the message has been received by the correct user.

  • Upgrading UCCX version 7.X to 10.X

I am little confused ,since CCX running on 7.0 in windows platform, how can i upgrade to 10.0 in Linux platform,
CCX is running on MCS 7825 server,what is possible way to migrate and upgrade!!!

    Hi,
    As per the following link
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/customer-collaboration/unified-contact-center-express/116797-technote-uccx-00.html
UCCX Version 10.0 does not support Windows-to-Linux upgrades. This means that any UCCX version from Version 7.0(2)ES3 and earlier cannot be upgraded in a single step to UCCX Version 10.0. Windows UCCX installations must first be upgraded to the latest Service Update (SU) on Version 8.5(1), or to the latest SU on Version 9.0(2). Then, that version can be upgraded to UCCX Version10.0. As of November 15, 2013, the interim versions for Windows to Linux upgrade to UCCX 10.0 were 8.5(1)SU4 and 9.0(2)SU1.
Refer to Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Cisco Unified CCX) Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide for the latest information on UCCX upgrade compatibility.

  • NFC "Near Field Communication" ?

A buddy of mine has a Nexus Tablet, he is annoying me by continually telling me how much better it is than my iPad2 !!!!!!
The latest thing he tells me about is his Nexus has NFS "Near Field Communication" where he can transfer photos (for example) from one Nexus to another simply by bumping them together !!!.
I dont believe my iPad2 is this clever, but can it be done with iPad3
They do a similar thing with Sony TV's and Sony Mobile Phones.

Rudegar, but this BUMP  has got to be the next thing
Bump has been around for two or three years. Unlike simply emailing (something every smart phone is able to do) to send a file, Bump requires that both parties have the app. And, despite having been around for years, I've met very few people who have it installed. So, by the time they download it, they already have the file I emailed them. If it works for you, that's great. But, for me, it's always seemed like a solution in search of a problem.
    Best of luck.

  • Please expose the employee ID field in ADUC in this version, also add a field for data of birth, and present both on the change password form so we can validate a user's identify when they ring up for a reset.

Considering Active Directory is supposed to be all about business, corporations and enterprises, I find it staggering that in 2015 the ADUC console STILL does not expose the Employee ID field in the default UI without having to dig into the attribute editor.
And then only if you browse to the user in their OU, the Attribute Editor tab is missing when you just search for the user. This isn't really helping our organisation. I've just setup the tech preview version of the new server version, and that doesn't expose
    it either.
I'm not sure how other organisations handle this (suggestions please?), but when a user rings up the service desk for a password reset, we either have to keep them on the phone while we dig into their user account and look for the Employee ID for them to
then confirm on the phone, or just take it on blind faith that they are who they say there are.
Please for the love of all deities, can you expose the Employee ID field on the main user panel without having to dig into attribute editor. It would also be useful to show this information directly on the reset password dialog box so there's no looking
up required. While you're at it, please can you add a date of birth field (if it isn't already there, I never seen one), and expose this on the main screen for the user, as well as the reset password box. This would give us two pieces of information to verify
the identity of the user on the phone.
All that being said, if anybody has a better way of identifying users on the other end of the phone, I'm all ears.
    Thanks in anticipation.

Personally we use the AD selfservice plugin for manageengines service desk plus.

    Hi all,
Can someone inform me of the earliest version of Adobe Reader with which you can edit a document with editable text fields? I've designed a form using LiveCycle and, prior to distributing it to customers, would like to determine the minimum spec for Reader.

Editable fields came in with 3.0, but if you use LiveCycle Designer,

  • EWS Protocol Support for Agent Email Integration on upcoming UCCX Versions

    Hi Everyone,
One of my customer wants to know, In the upcoming versions of UCCX, whether the EWS(Exchange Web Service) protocol is supported for Agent Email Integration or not?
I have done some inital findings for the current versions & it supports only IMAPv4 (for message retrieval) and SMTP protocols (for message sending).
    Thanks,
    Kumar.V

    Hi,
the way I would do it: Remedy would ask UCCX to place the agent into a specific Not Ready state (this prevents incoming calls) and then transfer a task to an agent. When the task is solved, Remedy would check for the number of calls waiting in UCCX and would leave the agent in Not Ready (and ultimately assign another task), or would change the agent state to Available.
If you want interruptible Remedy tasks (the agent is Available all along and when a call is transferred to him, the Remedy task automatically pauses) - I am afraid this is not possible.
About programmatic access to UCCX: if you have never heard about it, it's not easy - you might want to talk to a consultant.

  • Hardware requirements for latest UCCX version.

    Hello,
We are looking to implement UCCX for a small call center.  We will have no more than 20 licences for user.  What appliance will support this implementation or will we be able to provision our own server for this install?
    Thanks,

    Ryan,
Here's a link to the UCCX Compatibility Matrix:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
Your hardware requirements are going to vary depending on your version selection.
Further, the SRND includes a section that's more direct:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/design/guide/uccx80srnd.pdf
If you look in the Sizing Tools section, you'll see the MCS 7816 platform supports <50 agents with 30 BHCA ea (1500 call/hour peak).
Going a step further, the Compatibility Matrix shows UCCX 8.0 (as an example) as supporting the models MCS-7816-I3-CCX1
    MCS-7816-I4-CCX.
    However, USE THE SIZING TOOLS!
    Hope this helps...
