Uccx version 8.5 heartbeat

Hello,
Our two UCCX servers keep failover becuase our bandwith is saturated at night with servers backups between both sites.  I was thinking is there a way to go around lossing connectivity between uccx servers if bandwith is saturated like maybe changing the heartbeat threshold or some other kinda of setting in UCCX.  Also each uccx server is at one site.  We dont want to keep failover uccx servers just because bandwith is saturated at night for an hour?
Thanks,

Hi
Apply QoS to the link so that bandwidth is reserved for general non-Backup traffic, and specifically for key applications such as UCCX.

    Hi Anurag,
    Thanks for your questions.
1:Is there change in DB architecture as CUIC is the only option as compared to previous linux version UCCX ?
I assume this is from the tables regarding historical data. The database schema essentially remains the same since UCCX 9.0 had CUIC too and we had a seperate DB Space for CUIC and we still continue with that. The traditional historical tables remain and the replication process remains the same too.
2:Is there any version change for Linux OS used as VOS,
The Linux version is Red Hat Linux 5. To be precise:
    [root@uccx10pub /]# cat etc/redhat-release
Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.7 (Tikanga)
3:Is there any API architecture change in UCCX 10 from previous releases ?
I can answer this more of an overview. The only enhancement in the API side is the introduction of REST API step in the script editor. You can now make REST calls from the script and this ofcourse opens up a whole new world of possiblities.
4:Since from UCCX 10 , we can only use either CAD or Finnesse at one  time, whats the impact of changing this after some time in production,  let say , i used CAD for 2 months and then i decided to move to Finesse,  whats the impact ? or is it a smooth change as switching CUIC and HRC  in previoius release ?
For the scenario you mentioned, there is absolutely no problem. The point to note is that the Finesse services are activated/deactivated but the CAD desktop services are ALWAYS running. The only condition to keep in mind is that you can use ONLY ONE type of agent desktop at any time.  Also if Finesse is not used and CAD operations are used extensively, it is advisable to shutdown the Finesse service.
5:Is 3rd Party UCS hardware supported by UCCX 10 instead of using Cisco manufactured UCS , can i use HP hardware for Virtualisation ?
Yes, it can be used. This is something called as "Third party specs based specification". The most important things seen for compatibility are:
    Inter CPU Model
It it is on thVMWare Hardware Compatibilty List
You can get more information about this on the "Can I use this server?" section of UC Virtualized Hardware page:
    http://docwiki.cisco.com/wiki/UC_Virtualization_Supported_Hardware#.22Can_I_use_this_server.3F.22
    6:Is Host name change supported?
Yes, the hostname change is supported. The prcocedure is documented in the UCCX 10.0 Administration Guide:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_10_0/configuration/guide/UCCX_BK_W1AF9DDD_00_uccx-admin-guide-10.0.pdf (Pg 168)

  • Integrated phone in CAD UCCX version 8

    Hi All
I seem to remember something about an integrated phone in new CAD version for a release of UCCX version 8. From some presentation.
I just can't find any thing about it. Can any one help me to locate info or correct me.

According to the CCX 8.0 CAD User guide, CAD works with IP Communicator, but then it always has. Also there is a mention about Dial Pad being modeless now, seems that it can stay on top.
You have never needed a hard phone if you have a IP Comm phone. This is what I do for remote work all the time.
    Hope this helps.

  • UCCX Version 10.0 Prerelease Field Communication

Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX)  Version 10.0 is due to be released soon. UCCX Version 10.0 will contain  many new features, bug fixes, and serviceability improvements.
Although information on all of these new features will be documented in the  Solution Reference Network Design (SRND) and Release Notes (RN)  documents published with the release, we wanted to give you a sneak preview of some of the changes in UCCX Version 10.0. Explanation of these changes is intended to raise awareness of important points on how a UCCX 10.0 system is  designed, installed, and upgraded.
The document below contains the UCCX 10.0 prerelease communication. Please use this discussion to ask any questions or seek clarification on the topics raised within the document.

    Hi George,
    Thanks for posting!
Version 10.0 will not support SRTP and still only interacts with CUCM via CTI-QBE/JTAPI for call signaling. There is direct integration between UCCX and a SIP gateway for outbound, but as soon as the call is answered, it is transferred to CUCM to flow via CTI to UCCX. For now, there is no alternative signaling method and UCCX will not act as a SIP endpoint or B2B UA.
For the certificate question, can you clarify on which specific certificates you're looking for? Tomcat now generates a 2048 bit Certificate Signing Request (CSR) as of 9.0(1) and 8.0(2)SU4 per CSCtr47906. UCCX version 10 will use a lot more certificates, from SocialMiner web-chat, Finesse (both Tomcat and Notification Service for XMPP), MediaSense for tagging, but this mostly uses the Tomcat certificates on the UCCX and MediaSense nodes and certificates that need to be installed on UCCX are stored in the tomcat-trust store.
If you can clarify the request a little bit more, I may be able to provide a better answer.
    Thanks,
    Ryan

  • Upgrading UCCX version 7.X to 10.X

I am little confused ,since CCX running on 7.0 in windows platform, how can i upgrade to 10.0 in Linux platform,
CCX is running on MCS 7825 server,what is possible way to migrate and upgrade!!!

    Hi,
    As per the following link
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/customer-collaboration/unified-contact-center-express/116797-technote-uccx-00.html
UCCX Version 10.0 does not support Windows-to-Linux upgrades. This means that any UCCX version from Version 7.0(2)ES3 and earlier cannot be upgraded in a single step to UCCX Version 10.0. Windows UCCX installations must first be upgraded to the latest Service Update (SU) on Version 8.5(1), or to the latest SU on Version 9.0(2). Then, that version can be upgraded to UCCX Version10.0. As of November 15, 2013, the interim versions for Windows to Linux upgrade to UCCX 10.0 were 8.5(1)SU4 and 9.0(2)SU1.
Refer to Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (Cisco Unified CCX) Software and Hardware Compatibility Guide for the latest information on UCCX upgrade compatibility.

  • EWS Protocol Support for Agent Email Integration on upcoming UCCX Versions

    Hi Everyone,
One of my customer wants to know, In the upcoming versions of UCCX, whether the EWS(Exchange Web Service) protocol is supported for Agent Email Integration or not?
I have done some inital findings for the current versions & it supports only IMAPv4 (for message retrieval) and SMTP protocols (for message sending).
    Thanks,
    Kumar.V

    Hi,
the way I would do it: Remedy would ask UCCX to place the agent into a specific Not Ready state (this prevents incoming calls) and then transfer a task to an agent. When the task is solved, Remedy would check for the number of calls waiting in UCCX and would leave the agent in Not Ready (and ultimately assign another task), or would change the agent state to Available.
If you want interruptible Remedy tasks (the agent is Available all along and when a call is transferred to him, the Remedy task automatically pauses) - I am afraid this is not possible.
About programmatic access to UCCX: if you have never heard about it, it's not easy - you might want to talk to a consultant.

  • Hardware requirements for latest UCCX version.

    Hello,
We are looking to implement UCCX for a small call center.  We will have no more than 20 licences for user.  What appliance will support this implementation or will we be able to provision our own server for this install?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

    Ryan,
Here's a link to the UCCX Compatibility Matrix:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
Your hardware requirements are going to vary depending on your version selection.
Further, the SRND includes a section that's more direct:
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_8_0/design/guide/uccx80srnd.pdf
If you look in the Sizing Tools section, you'll see the MCS 7816 platform supports <50 agents with 30 BHCA ea (1500 call/hour peak).
Going a step further, the Compatibility Matrix shows UCCX 8.0 (as an example) as supporting the models MCS-7816-I3-CCX1
    MCS-7816-I4-CCX.
    However, USE THE SIZING TOOLS!
    Hope this helps...

  • UCCX Version 9 Strangeness

We migrated from Version 7 to Version 9 across the entire CISCO UC environment and are running UCCX Ver 9.  The client had been on standard edition and now they are on premium so everyone is learning about new functionality.   The agents still use the phone log in and do not yet have the CAD installed.   I note the following:
Calls in extended wait eventually recieve the UCCX standard error message about system outage?   It comes on at about 10 minutes, is this a system wide setting?   They otherwise are handling calls in that Queue.  This error happens only after about 10 minutes of waiting.
Agents use the phone login and all is right until they do there first Not Ready manual selection.  When they then make themselves Ready, the system puts them immediately into Reserved and then Not Ready.  The only option appears to be log out, then log back in and all is fine until the first Not Ready is selected.
    Duh.....

    Hi James,
Thank you for your reply.  I've successfully installed the app on iPad.  However, I noticed that
[email protected] is not working E-mail address....    Have you used this application?  If so,
Please let me know if you find any negative impact such as, security issue, systems slowness or any bugs...
    Thank you very much

  • Which are the lowest versions of UCM and UCCX with corresponding client software supported on Windows 7 64bit?

    Hello,
currently using UCM 7.0(2) and CIPC 7.0.2 for hotline using UCCX 7.0(1) and Agent Desktop 6.6.54.
Which CUCM and UCCX Versions are needed to support Win7 64bit Client Software and which Version of CIPC can than be used?
We dont want to upgrade to latest versions yet! We only want to realise 64bit compatability for our clients. Therefore upgrading to lastest releases of UCM an UCCX would not be the correct answer.
My understaning of release documentation for this is following.
    Win7 64bit supported when
    UCM 7.0(2) using CIPC 7.0.4 or 8.6
    UCCX 7.0(2) using CAD 7.0.2xxxx
Therfore we only have to do a maintenance update of UCCX from 7.0(1) to 7.0(2) to get new CAD Version compatible to 64bit.
Next we only have to update CIPC from 7.0.2 to 7.0.4 or 8.6 regardless of the UCM version because both newer CIPC version list CUCM 7.0 as compatible system.
    I'm I right here????
Additionally is the expectable update cost free or does it bring any change in licensing?
PS: I know some other client software is not 64bit compatible in this solution like historical reporting client and so on. but this is no K.O. criteria and can be compensated otherwise.

My apologies John I didn't realize that I was addressing the official custodian of Photoshop.
Incidentally my advice is intended for others in a similar situation who find themselves stalled during installation and otherwise contemplating a re-installation of Windows. I believe this would be obvious to most forum participants who had actually read my original post.

  • UCCX CAD,CSD and CDA Versions

Does anyone know of a document which lists the CAD, CSD and CDA versions which are downloaded by default from UCCX. My UCCX version will 7.0(1) SR5, and I'm trying to determine this detail in advance of the install to satisfy the customers desktop SOE requirements. I don't think the desktop 'versions' are in synch with the UCCX app release version, hence the question..
    Thanks
    Bruce Wilkinson

    Hi
The versions are listed on the compatibility sheet : http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/voice_ip_comm/cust_contact/contact_center/crs/express_compatibility/matrix/crscomtx.pdf
They're listed under CAD/CAD-BE/CSD Client Version on the second page for whichever version you are looking at. There's a new 'feature' in 8.0 and above where the version numbers will now apparently match...

  • UCCX upgrade 5.0 to 9.0

    Hello,
We are planning an UCCX upgrade from 5.0 to 9.0 on a UCS server. We're going to do a fresh install, and I would like to know if we will be able to use the old scripts and prompts on the new version, or will we have to build the scripts from scratch. If anybody has had a similar experience, I would appreciate the advice.
    Best regards,
    Ivana

Yes!  Scripts and prompts from older versions work on newer versions as well.  The opposite is not true however, so if you upgrade to UCCX 9x, and need to roll back for some reason, your scripts from the UCCX 9x will not work on UCCX 5x.  Not that I think your upgrade wont work, or that you couldn't just restore from a UCCX 5x backup though.  I'm just covering both scenarios here.
One thing to note, in UCCX versions 7x and lower, people could script incorrectly, and it would still work.  However, starting in UCCX 8x, there are additional restrictions and security measures in place, which will make those scripts fail.  Be sure to do your testing of all scripts before going live on UCCX 9x.  One of the major offenders of this is using the Write Document step to write files to the local C:\.  So, if you open all of your scripts, and do a CTRL+F "Write Document", to find this step, you may be able to correct it now, before you even go through the upgrade.

    Hi All,
Webapps folder is missing in this path C:\ProgramFiles\wfavvid\tomcat_appadmin\ and I am not able to login to the appadmin webpage.
Please suggest what needs to be done.
    UCCX version is 7
    Thanks

I think you need to login to appadmin page
so you can let it as fresh install with the following steps
on the server through cmd prompt - type in CET - bring up the object editor - select "com.cisco.crs.cluster.config.AppadminSetupConfig - in right hand side select the row go to second tab and change the "setup state" to "FRESH_INSTALL" from drop down menu.
Login into Appadmin with the user "Administrator" "ciscocisco"

  • UCCX Reading XML file hosted on IIS web server

    hi guys,
i have a customer on CCX 8.5 environment and they have a .NET application running on an IIS web server. As part of this .NET application, the app produce an XML file.
    My questions is
"Can CCX read XML file that is hosted externally on IIS web server rather than parsing the XML file on CCX document repository?"
All of the examples of XML parsing points to the XML file in document repository.
Any pointers to links and documentation/example on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.
If this is not achievable, if you could kindly suggest a different way of doing it too would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Daniel

    Hi,
to be quite honest with you, I don't know anything about Sharepoint - so I am afraid I cannot help you with its XML editing capabilities. XML is just a well formed text file that follows some logical rules, so no additional application is required for editing, in fact, I always encourage everybody to use Notepad/Textpad/ to read and edit XML files. Of course, if it's not possible, you will find a great number of various user friendly XML editing applications.
A UCCX script will normally access an XML using the Create URL Document step and then, using the Get XML Document data step with the help of an XPath expression, will filter out the necessary information from the XML document.
The protocols used are standard and well known, including HTTP and XPath (and XML itself). So it does not really matter what kind of HTTP server serves the XML file, IIS is just an option.
Examples may be found in the Scripting guides for your particular UCCX version.

  • UCCX email queue stuck in "loading"

I just created a new email queue and added it to a test agent and when the agent logs in to CAD the tab for the email queue says "Loading" but it never loads. The phone queue for the test user works normally. IMAP is enabled on Exchange and the service has been restarted.
    Using:
    Exchange 2013
    UCCX version: 10.5.1.10000-24
    CUCM version: 10.5.2.10000-5
I am able to telnet to the Exchange server on port 143 with the username/password configured on CDA.
Using Windows 7 and Java 7u51. Tried deleting Java and opened the client and had CAD download the Java version it needed.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks

The Cisco CAD Troubleshooting Guide for Cisco Unified Contact Center Express, Release 10.5 covers this on page 101.
Problem Agent E-Mail does not work. The Agent E-Mail applet displays a “Loading...” animation that never completes. If you turn on the Java Console with Tracing, Logging, and Applet life cycle exceptions enabled, you can see the following message during Agent E-Mail start up:
security: LiveConnect (JavaScript) blocked due to security settings.
Cause. With Java 7 Update 25, Oracle introduced a feature that blocks LiveConnect when the user’s JRE does not meet the JRE security baseline. The security baseline is published by Oracle and updated as security vulnerabilities are fixed in newer JRE updates. When the Agent E-Mail applet starts, the JRE checks this security baseline. If the required JRE is higher than the JRE version the user is currently running, or if the security baseline cannot be found and the current JRE is expired, Agent E-Mail no longer works.
Solution JRE 1.7 Update 45 is no longer supported due to Oracle changing the security baseline. You must update to JRE 1.7 Update 51 or later. Future JRE updates might render Agent E-Mail unusable due to the LiveConnect blocking feature and the security baseline. If this is the case, you must perform one of the following workarounds:
    ■ Update each user’s JRE version to meet the security baseline.
    ■ Move the security slider of each user’s Java Control Panel to a
    setting lower than High
    ■ Add Cisco Agent Desktop to the Exception Site List. For more information, refer to the following Oracle documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/ex ception_site_list.html
    ■ Create a Deployment Rule Set (DRS) and distribute it throughout the contact center. For more information on how to create and distribute your own DRS, refer to the following Oracle documentation:
    http://docs.oracle.com/javase/7/docs/technotes/guides/jweb/de ployment_flow.html#rules
