I have the same problem with IRM. Apparently the OTN servers are being replicated in situ so it's possible you may hit the 404 if the server to which you've connected hasn't received its update yet. In theory, refreshing the page should make a new connection and potentially a different server. However, it seems there's some other logic behind the scenes which manages 'closest server' and/or 'least hit server' which means that you get redirected back to your unreplicated server all the time.
I'm told the replication process should complete in the next 24 hours or so. Until then http://edelivery.oracle.com is the only reliable location to download the products.

I want to know the difference between Oracle UCM11g and Oracle UCM10g.
1. Whats the primary benefit for the client for chosing Oracle UCM 11g than Oracle UCM 10g.
2. Whats are all the changes added in UCM11g from customization perspective.
- Is Component Architecture is followed in UCM 11g
- Is IdocScript/Resource ,Template,Service,Service Handler,Filter are still exist and customization is possible through them?

biggest differences
1. You need WebLogic for 11g. 11g UCM runs as a java application inside of WLS.
2. WLS handles all security. UCM no longer controls security. There are NO local users (except for running the stand alone apps) anymore. All users are outside in a AD or LDAP store of some kind.
Ramifications:
1. For large enterprise systems the clustering and management available for WLS make a system extremely scalable.
2. Any beneficial properties of WLS now apply to UCM (there are many but I am not a WLS expert)
3. if UCM is all you need and you are not planning a clustered system and your hardware is not the most current.... then maybe 10 g is a better choice. Maybe.
4. Customization for the CS is unchanged, but things like security being different will break some customizations. As with any upgrade some includes and some resources change and thus break an existing component. Test custom components fully.

If you are using Server 2003 x64 you need to make sure that you change IIS to run in 32 bit mode. FDM is a 32 bit application and requires that IIS is running in 32 bit mode in IIS6. If you are using IIS7 it runs in 32 bit mode automatically, but with IIS 6 it can only run in 64 or 32 bit mode, not both.

UCM 11g change user password

This was actually the first custom component I created for 11g.
You should look into the 'self' features that are available in ldap security options. For example, as it seems that we're talking about the embedded ldap here:
for weblogic embedded server, add to acls.prop:
ou=people,ou=myrealm,dc=ecm_domain|subtree#grant:r,w,o,s#userpassword#this:
This will let people use their current password to bind into ldap and change their own password. they won't be able to change other passwords. This works well and you can put together a template that has the standard change pw format:
current password:
new password:
confirm password:
at least that's what I put together.

Migration from Stellent v7.g to UCM 11g - Configuration Migration Utility

Hello,
I am in the process of planning a migration from the old Stellent 7.5 system to the new Oracle UCM 11g.
I keep hearing of a utility called "Configuration Migration Utility" to setup the 11g system with the same users, folders, metadata, etc... as the older Stellent system. Does anybody know where to find this utility? Is there a single tool that will "export" the configuration from my Stellent and import that configuration onto my 11g?

CMU tool is a way to create the entire configuration bundle from 1 instance to the other .
This is a component that will be available from patchset 13526049 which is for CS 7.5
You will need to put this patchset on the 7.5 server and then from the option list select CMU which will then install the component on server .
For ucm 11g it is already installed on the server but disabled by default .

Somebody knows as I can connect ODC with UCM 11g what is the form to make the connection or that connectors and of I can download where them, I have made the connection of ODC with UCM 10g and it has worked to me but profit not to do it with UCM 11g somebody can help me?

If you know the technique how to create File Cabinets - UCM Commit Profile for 10g, it is almost the same. You may have to upgrade your ODC, though (I have noticed there is a new tab available)

Is Collaboration manager disappeared in UCM 11g ?

Judging by this statemet from the Services Reference (2-1) I would say that Collaboration Manager is dead.
The core services are still supported but I guess it is no longer available
"The CollaborationManager component and its services have been removed
because the product is not supported in 11g Release 1 (11.1.1). Core collaboration
services have been moved to the Core Services chapter."
Of course the only real truth has to come from product management or license sales.

I am not able to find the Collaboration Manager component for UCM 11g. However when I Installed the Collaboration manager component available with 10gR3, my UI was distorted in 11g instance. All the Images destroyed. I want to use Collaboration manager on 11g, Any ideas, kindly advise.

CollabManager is no more available for UCM 11g onwards . The 10g component will not be compatible with 11g ucm and thats the reason why you are seeing all the images distorted and not right. I guess you should take a look at Frameworks Folder which looks like it will be able to offer the same (not tested yet by me) features as available with Collab Manager .

UCM 11g and Weblogic SQL Authenticator

A bit lengthy question about UCM 11g using WLS Security providers for user authentication.
There's a lot of stuff on the web about integrating UCM 11g with WLS AD/LDAP authenticators. However there's literally nothing about integrating it with SQL-based authenticators. Does it mean that using WLS's built-in providers other than AD/LDAP is not supported ?
I tried configuring my Custom DBMS Authenticator - it works fine. I can see my users/groups and membership info read from the DB in WLS Admin Console. The users can even log in to the Content Server but their WLS groups are never mapped to UCM roles/accounts. I tried reordering the WLS authenticators so that the DBMS authenticator is at the top but this does not help. Does this mean that group -> role/account mapping works only with LDAP ?

I did another exercise and defined the contributor group in both the DefaultAuthenticator and the SQL Authenticator and created two users 'default' (int the DefaultAuthenticator) and 'sql' (in the SQL authenticator). Both users are members of the 'contributor' group (in the respective Authenticator). If I log in as either of the users they all have the proper principals/credentials set in the javax.security.auth.Subject instance (the 'contributor' is a principal and a credential in both cases). However UCM maps it to a role only for the 'default' user.
Is it possible that the JPS provider somehow bypasses the javax.security.auth.Subject abstraction? Do you know of any related docs available online ?

Collaboration features in UCM 11g

I have a requirement where I need to implement collaboration on a content in UCM
11g.Users will be able to provide comments on a content which I need to show in
the content info page.
I want to know the best possible way to achieve this.Is any out of box component
available for this?

There are several levels how to achieve that:
1. the simplest one is using a metadata field - there is one called Comment. The obvious disadvantage is that it has limited length (2K characters), and users may overwrite comments of the others
2. a more advanced, and I believe it could be sufficient to your needs, is using discussions (Threaded Discussion component). You may find details about this component here: http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E23943_01/doc.1111/e10797/c04_working_with_files.htm#CSUSG884
3. even more advanced, but need additional licenses, is creation of context-aware comments (mark-ups), often to non-editable formats. The advantage of that approach is that a user is able to place his or her comment directly in the place where the comment is relevant. UCM is integrated with AutoVue, an Oracle application, which is capable of that. Also, OnTrack (renamed to Oracle Social Network) has this feature, and I believe in the future this is probably the direction to go.

UCM 11g gives error while opening systemproperties in production

UCM 11g is giving error while opening systemproperties in production mode, it says root user cannot install it.Please suggest.

do you have any directories owned by root? I've seen some nfs issues change ownership of mounted directories when they're remounted.
is anything in the /bin/ directory owned by root?
I think you should be safe to chown back to your install user.

Gett 403 error code when trying to access UCM 11g from Admin console -- deployment

We have deployed UCM 11g in cluster mode. When I test the application via the admin conssole --> deployment --> UCM. I can access UCM only on one member of the cluster. The other member gives me a 403 error code..

UCM 11g File missing from search result although file is accessable

When I do search without any criteria in UCM 11g, some files missing from search result although I know the files were checked into UCM already since I'm able to see these files using url similar to:
http://ucm/cs/idcplg?idcService=GET_FILE&dID=12345
or use following url to get document information:
http://ucm/cs/idcplg?idcService=DOC_INFO&dID=12345
the file is not in the search resule even search by ID.
also, the seach result say "displaying 1-20" but only display few files (e.g. 2 files, less than 20)
Is this a known problem? the same search was working in UCM 10 perfectly.

The query seems able to retrieve the missing document. for example, I search by content ID, in the audit log (eanbled as you mentioned) give th efollowing information:
fusionappsattachments/6 09.13 06:22:03.878 IdcServer-3474 --- @ResultSet SearchResults ---
fusionappsattachments/6 09.13 06:22:03.878 IdcServer-3474 numFields=66,*numRows=1*,currentRow=0
also, the infomation following above give the deteail field information which match with the missing document.
I looks like UCM just did not bring it to UI as part of search result.
This seems match with my another finding as I mentioned earlier: the seach result say "displaying 1-20" but only display few files (e.g. 2 files, less than 20)
it seems query did find the documents but UI did not show it.
Not sure if this is a known bug.

Content migration Stellent 7.5 to UCM 11g | Facing trouble

Hi All,
We are upgrading from Stellent 7.5 to UCM 11g. Stellent 7.5 is on windows 2003 with SQL 2005 database, and UCM 11g is on Linux RHEL 5.6 with Oracle 11g database.
We are using archiver to migrate contents from Stellent to UCM. The import batch program is successfully executing. Below is the process we follow to migrate the contents which are in workflow.
1- Moved folders for migrating user workflow history and states of workflows
     <stellent idc root>\data\workflow to <ucm root>\data\workflow
     <stellent idc root>\data\user\profiles to <ucm root>\data\user\profiles
2- Migrated table data
     - truncating table data, the tables are : Revisions, DocMeta, Documents, DocumentHistory and RevClasses etc
     - Migrating data of these tables from MSSQL to Oracle so that workflow state, document checkout states are also preserved
     - wf_in_queue stores did of content therefore old did (of 7.5) needs to be preserved to show documents lying in user's queue
     - As well as there are some custom tables which are dependent on did.
Now the problem is, the native url of the link is pointing to new did.extention which was generated while content import through archiver. And if we migrate the table data as mentioned above the native url shows the old did.xls but this file doesnot exists in the file system.
Is there any who also faced the same situation?
Or is there a better way of migrating contents from 7.5 to 11g.

There is no supported direct migration path from 7.5 to 11g. The supported migration path is to upgrade the 7.5 instance to 10g, then upgrade the 10g instance to 11g.

Changing the UCM Database

Oracle UCM 11G missing Web Form Editor

Hello All,
Oracle 10G UCM provided a WebForm Editor. After installation of newer version Oracle UCM 11G we found the feature is missing.
Is there a substitute provided by Oracle in 11G version for the same?
We need to provide functionality to end users where they could go and create some forms on their own. We were thinking to use Web-Form Editor for the same, but to our surprise we found the feature is missing.
Can anyone suggest if we are missing something. Any help is appreciated.

You're correct that the general UCM docs don't include that detail, but the FormEditor component readme.txt does include that info. I didn't open the readme.doc, but the readme says that there's more info in there.
