UCM Web center install

Hello people :
Sorry if this is not the right forum to ask.
Im stuck in the middle of Web Center installation , to be precise I'm on A.10. Specify UCM Installer Directory Screen window as described in [A Oracle WebCenter Installation Screens|http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/install.1111/e12001/install_screens.htm#BABFHHAE] .
As you can see in there, it asks for a UCM installable directory. I downloaded Web Center from [Oracle Fusion Middleware 11g R1|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/middleware/htdocs/fmw_11_download.html], but there is no directory for UCM in there.
Any ideas ? I don't want to cancel installation just in the middle :S

Well I noticed that it's neccesary to download Content Management for WebCenter (10.1.3.5.1) from [Fusion Middleware 11gR1|http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/products/middleware/htdocs/fmw_11_download.html] , extract all its contents in a local directory and then type it in the provided textbox in the wizard.
for me it was $HOME/UCM/ContentServer

Didn't see the link in your post. may have been stripped.
if you want to use the ebs native attachment lists, what we've done is used a custom bpel composite to load items into the appropriate entity in the fnd_documents and all of those other related ebs tables. this takes webcenter out of it for the most part. you could also load links, similar to the imaging solution's approach. this way, again, uses the ebs attachments, but stores the image in IPM (in the imaging case, that is). there is a link loaded into the fnd tables.
if you want to leverage the ebs-side attachment lists, managed attachments may not be the approach you want to take. You may want to look into the imaging solution or creating a custom process.

URGENT::Web center latest version 11.1.1.2.0 & UCM

I am installing web center ofm_wc_generic_11.1.1.2.0_disk1_1of1.zip
after few steps got a screen says that install & configure ucm
I am pointing to ofm_ucm_generic_10.1.3.5.1_disk1_1of1.zip extracted location
i got error this error
INST-07301: Specified UCM installer is not found.
Even though if I point the error stops installation

You probably haven't pointed to the right folder. Check the documentation and go up a few levels if you're too far down the file path. I ran into a similar error.
Also, UCM 11g is certified with WebCenter 11g now too, so you may want to install that instead. There's some Support notes on Metalink on how to hook the two of them up.

Installing Web center suite 11g on Mac OS

Hi All,
did anybody tried to install Web center suite 11g on Mac Os snow leopard? I have modified runInstaller bash file to run installer on Mac but all in vain. I have tried to put PLATFORMID=Linux and changed CMDDIR, but now it's cant run runInstaller from Linux directory "cannot execute binary file"
May be anybody have any idea to install.

Inside the owfm_wc_generic_11.1.1.4.0_disk1_1of1/Disk1/install folder there is the "runInstaller" script which builds the appropriate command line options to execute the appropriate "runInstaller" binary stored within platform-specific sub-folders. (eg. owfm_wc_generic_11.1.1.4.0_disk1_1of1/Disk1/install/linux64/runInstaller)
Non of these binaries work on OS X, and I wouldn't expect them to. Too bad the WC installer is a compiled binary instead of java code like the WLS or JDev installs.
As for always using VMs, I normally agree. Exceptions to the "rule" seem appropriate when that service is to be shared across multiple VMs and/or workstation-based development IDEs. This is why I run a DB (Oracle 10g express) and LDAP server (OpenDS) directly on OS X. This way I can really run JDev and WC portal development locally (minus UCM, etc...) without having to spin-up a VM every single time.

Web Center Installation and HTTP Server

I am new to server technologies. Trying to install Web Center on windows server, but it appears Web server HTTP address and port is required to install UCM.
May I know how to find if any Web server is already exists on my system which is Window server 2003?
I already installed Web logic and SOA Suite. By chance any of them include Web Server? If not, can you recommend one HTTP server for UCM?

How to access UCM Web Service in Oracle.

I am trying to call UCM Web Service (CheckIn.wsdl) using oracle.
But these web services are secured and expecting username/password.
Any one have any idea to pass username/password in oracle function.

It's compiling successfully.
When ever i am trying to run using

Any body have any idea.

If you are using apex, you have access to the wwv_flow_web_services package that has all the procs you need to made this work. If not, you can use flex_ws_api, which, although a bit out of date, should still work. This can be found at: http://jastraub.blogspot.com/2009/11/flexwsapi-no-on-samplecodeoraclecom.html
Hopefully this will get you the start you need. Don't forget soapUI. This has proved to be invaluable in my development just to prove something works. It becomes a very easy way when I keep hearing, "UCM doesn't work....".

Installation error in Oracle Web Center 11.1.1.3.0

Hi,
I have downloaded the ofm_wc_generic_11.1.1.3.0 from OTN.
I installed the WLServer successfully. While trying to install Oracle Web Center 11.1.1.3.0 I am getting the below error.
Do I need to install Web Center Suite 11.1.1.2.0?
Is there any sequence to install?
Please help me.

INST-07286: Specified Oracle Middleware home location does not have version 10.3.3 of WebLogic server. If the version is incorrect then configuring with the Weblogic server will fail.
Provide a Oracle Middleware home location which contains WebLogic server with version 10.3.3.0 or upgrade the Weblogic server to 10.3.3.0 and restart the install.
INST-07100: The Oracle home provided does not contain Oracle WebCenter 11.1.1.2.0.
In order to patch your existing version please provide an Oracle home that contains the product mentioned above. If you choose to continue, only the oracle_common directory and any components that both products have in common will be patched.
INST-07293: Middleware home location specified does not have the required Oracle homes installed in it. The Oracle homes for the following components is not installed oracle.as.webcenter.top.
Provide a different Middleware home location or install the required Oracle Products and try the install again

Issue in upgrading from Fatwire 7.6 to web center sites 1.1.1.6

Patch upgrade from Fatwire 7.6 to Web Center sites 1.1.1.6 is failing while importing catalog elements. The database ping and csLogin test is successfully completed at 75 % of the installation. After that below mentioned exception is coming in logs which is causing installation failure. Please provide your valuable pointers to troubleshoot this issue.
Access to CATALOGDIRECTORY and ELEMENTDIRECTORY is verified. Both paths are correct with full access.

May be it is expecting wlserver_10.3 directory.
Can you try giving a link to one directory above wlserver_10.3 OR the complete path to wlserver_10.3 directory.
One of this should make the upgrade successful.

Hi All,
I got the solution how to start EM in Webcenter .
If in your configuration is there any other HTTP server is running then its comfilect with your current Webcenter with HTTP server installation. so try to installed only Oracle Webcenter Freamwork only...after that try to open the Application server control page with 8888, it will definately work...

If you purchase a WebCenter licence you have limited use of the weblogic server. It is limited to use for webcenter only. If you want to deploy othe applications (like java application) on it and run them in production, then you need to pay for an additional licence so if you only want weblogic for webcenter than it's included.
It's the same with UCM. UCM has also a seperate licence but if you buy webcenter, you have limited use of UCM so you can use it for webcenter only.

Weblogic WEB CENTER 11g

Hi,
I have installed oracle weblogic serevr 10.3.3
I have installed oracle web center 11g
I have configured weblogic domain using web center configuration in my machine C:\Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_WC\common\bin\config.cmd
I am unable to start managed servers
C:\Oracle\Middleware\user_projects\domains\TestDevDomain\bin>startManagedWeblogic.cmd WLS_Services http://wixp2:7001
kindly help me how to resolve this issue?

Hi
1. Looks like you created a Clustered Domain, means one Admin Server and another managed server may be for WebCenter stuff.
2. Did AdminServer started properly and did you give correct username and password that you entered while creating the domain.
3. While starting the managed server with the command you gave, you need to provide username and password. Did you give the exact username and password. Because the error clearly says invalid username/password like Authentication failed.
4. NOW, by any chance did you Configured any external LDAP AD to this domain. If yes, try to make the default Authenticator as the first Authenticator by changing the order of authenticators. Also make sure that all Authenticators flags are set as SUFFICIENT OR OPTIONAL. For SOA, right now there is a limitation like Weblogic cannot look into multiple authenticators. It can have only one authenticator alive at a time. There is a workaround though. But see if this is the issue on your side.

Will ALUI Publisher work in Web Center 10G?

Publisher 6.4 and 6.5 do work with WebCenter Interaction 10.3, but not WebCenter itself.
And there will be no further updates to Publisher; the functionality will be replaced UCM. The WCI statement of direction has some details about that:

Web Center Management Packs Activation

We are licenced the the following enterprise manager management packs: SOA Management pack enterprise edition, Webcenter management pack and Weblogic server management pack enterprise edition.
I would like to activate Webcenter Management Pack and Weblogic Server Management Packs. To do that i have "agreed" to Oracle Fusion Middleware Management Packs from the Enterprise Manage Console. I have also deployed Agents using the Enterprise Manager Push methods i.e Add Targets Manually from the Enterprise Manager Console.

./emctl upload agent execute successfully to all the target hosts wich has the web logic server, http server and web center content,imaging,capture,urm installed.
Problem
From the enterprise manager console, i am not able to see the weblogic servers, web center domains, imaging,capture etc of the target/monitored hosts. i.e agent is not able to discovery the installed web center on the target servers.
What else should i enable or install?

First, can you see the agent and host in EM? If not, then you'll need to follow these steps:
emctl secure agent
emctl start agent
emctl config agent addinternaltargets
emctl config agent listtargets
The host and agent must be "green" in EM to discover targets.   The last command listtargets will show you what the agent has "auto-discovered". Not all targets can be auto-discovered.
Did you check the Auto Discovery Results to see if the targets are waiting for promotion? If they're not there, then you might have to "manually" discover them.
