UCMBE Phone Licenses

Is there a part number for adding phone dlu's to UCMBE?

Hey Adam,
Hope all is well my friend
To order DLUs, in Dynamic Configuration Tool, select the Device License Unit top level SKU “LICCM-
DL”. Then select appropriate SKU’s (in format LIC-CM-DL-*) to equal the total quantity that the
customer requires. Something like;
LIC-CM-DL-100 (for 100 DLU pack)

  • CME phone license upgrade to CM 5.x

I have searched a lot for info on the new licensing model for CM 5.x and have got a lot of useful stuff.
    However :-
How do I convert phone license currently associated with CME, to CM 5.x Device Licenses ?
The CM 5.x Admin Docs talks about migrating from 4.0 to 5.0 and creating an intermediate license file etc.
There is no mention of CME 4.0 ->CM 5.x.
On various pages on the cisco site, I have seen statements telling you how you get "Full Investment Protection", when you decide to go from CM Express to the Server version.
How does this work with phone licenses ?
    Thanks

  • VoIP Phone licenses

    Hello there,
I'm pretty new to VoIP so please bare with me.. Reading about VoIP phones I've found that you have to buy some kind of license no matter which phone you are using : " All Cisco Unified IP phones require the purchase of a phone user license, regardless of call protocol being used. " Please can someone give me a link or enlighten me a little about them.
    Questions :
    1. what are these licenses, why should I buy them, how much do they cost ?
    2. Is this the only license I'll have to buy to use the ip phone ? Or I'll need some kind of software license too?
    Thank you

    DLUs = Device License Unit
depending on the phone model how many they use, you need to contact pre-sales or licensing for them
if you don't have the DLUs you cannot add phones
the SKU from each phone entitles you to the necessary DLUs for that phone but DLUs can be purchased separately
you also need a node license to activate the CCM service if 5.x and an extra feature license if running 6.x
you can look "licensing" on cco and will get more info

  • Selling phone, license info safe?

    Hi,
If I decided to sell my phone, would the next owner be able to use my license info to buy Maps licenses without me knowing it, possibly even charging my credit card?
I once did a hard reset on my phone, erasing everything, making it like a brand new device, but Maps still found my previous license info. Can this info be erased aswell?

  • Cisco phone proxy will support on cucm 8.6 or not

Hi as per document i can see that Cisco phone proxy . Without using vpn connect . Customer want to keep configured Cucm on there Jabber or cisco mobile on the iphone and need to get connected when ever they have an internet access .
And also by keeping a small end router at branches havin only one cisco phone needs to connect to the corprate office using proxy.
Is that possible and also is it possible on 8.6 cucm version . Here am just attaching a document info which says version supported
Supported Cisco UCM and IP Phones for the Phone Proxy
    Cisco Unified Communications Manager
The following release of the Cisco Unified Communications Manager are supported with the phone proxy:
    •Cisco Unified CallManager Version 4.x
    •Cisco Unified CallManager Version 5.0
    •Cisco Unified CallManager Version 5.1
    •Cisco Unified Communications Manager 6.1
    •Cisco Unified Communications Manager 7.0

I understand the VPN solution is a good one, but we have already 100 proxy phones deployed and from what I read I'd need to first set up a VPN phone on the cluster before deploying it in the field. This would be difficult to do with users all over the country. Or am I missing something?
I have a question about our ASA though if anyone can answer it. We have to move from an ASA 5510 to a 5520 due to the 100 UC proxy-phone license limitation (even though we have 70 phones it appears that a UC license is taken up for each TFTP server configured on the phone - primary and secondary). When I configured the 5520 I can register new phones no problem. None of the existing phones will register until the CTL file is manually deleted on each phone. Is there a way to seamlessly migrate to the 5520? Such as using the same certs, CTL file etc.. on the 5520? When I configured it it generated it's own self-signed key and CTL file. I did import the certificates from CUCM...

  • VPN Site-to-Site or VPN Client Server with Cisco IP Phone 8941 and 8945

    Hi everyone,
I decide to deploy a CUCM (BE6K platform), SX20, and IP Phone 8941/8945 on Head Office and Cisco SX10 and IP Phone 8941/8945 for branch offices (actually 9 branch offices).
The connection will use internet connection for HO and each branch offices.
And the IT guy want to use kind a VPN client server or VPN site-to-site for the connection through internet,
what kind of VPN client server or VPN site-to-site that recommended for this deployment?
and what type of Cisco router that support that kind of VPN (the cheapest one will be great)?
So the SX10 and IP Phone 8941/8945 in branch offices can work properly through internet connection?
    please advise
    Regards,
    Ovindo

    Hi Leo,
technically, the ipsec users will not use up any premium license seats, so if you have 10 ipsec users connecting first, the premium seats are still free and so you can then still have 10 phones/anyconnect users connect.
However, the 250 you mention is the global platform limit, so it refers to the sum of premium and non-premium connections. Or in other words, you can have 240 ipsec users and 10 phones,  but not 250 ipsec users and 10 phones.
If 250 ipsec users and 10 phones would try to connect, it would be first-in, first-served, e.g. you could have 248 ipsec users and 2 phones connected.
Note: since you have Essentials disabled I'm assuming you are referring to the legacy "Cisco vpnclient" (IKEv1 client) which does not require any license on the ASA. But for the benefit of others reading this thread: if  you do have Anyconnect clients (using SSL or IPsec/IKEv2) for which you currently have an Essentials license, then note that the Essentials and Premium license cannot co-exist. So for e.g. 240 Anyconnect users and no phones, you can use Essentials. For 240 Anyconnect users and 10 phones, you need a 250-seat Premium license (and a vpn phone license).

  • CUCM 8.5.1 to 8.6.2 Upgrade Software Version license is missing.

We upgraded a demo system which was running CUCM 8.5 to Version 8.6.2 as a dry run before installing our actual 8.6.2 servers and we can no longer register phones.  The GUI tells us " Software Version license is missing. Service will not start. Please upload SW Feature license file.
The Licence Unit Report shows 150 Units Authorized and 26 in use for the Phone License Feature -  Status shows Demo. It also shows 3 Units Authorized and 1 in use for the CCM Node License Feature - Status also shows "Demo".  The Software License Version has no SW Version info and its status shows "MISSING".
We would sure like to be comfortable with the process before diving in head first.
    Anyone have any ideas?

  • UCM 5.1.2 Licensing issue

I have 105 phones and 420 licenses. I'm only using 412 licenses. The License Unit Report has always reported correctly, but now it states that there are no authorized licenses, 412 used and -412 remaining. It seems as if it thinks I'm using all of my devices without licenses. I am having NO issues with nodes or phones working. I need to upload 40 more phone licenses, but I'm a little weary about this display. Anyone seen this?

    Hi Steve,
I have worked with a couple of people here who ran into this(a negative - value in the DLU Licensing). In both cases they had not ever received the Permanent DLU License file from Cisco. I think that you are right in not loading the new files until this issue has been resolved.
Migrating from Cisco Unified CallManager 4.0(x) to 5.0(x) same for Migration to 6.x :)
When you migrate from Cisco Unified CallManager version 4.0(x) to 5.0(x), the licenses that are required for existing phones and existing Cisco Unified CallManager nodes is calculated and an intermediate file (XML file) that contains these license counts will be generated during the Cisco Unified CallManager migration process. These licenses are given free of cost because you are already using these phones for Cisco Unified CallManager version 4.x. If you are provisioning new phones and nodes after migrating to Cisco Unified CallManager 5.0(x), you need to paste the intermediate license file in the License Registration window on CCO.
Use the following procedure to register existing licenses and request for new licenses.
Step 1 In Cisco Unified CallManager Administration, choose System > Licensing > License File Upload. ***(On the new 5.x or 6.x build)
The License File Upload window displays.
Step 2 Click View File. A pop-up window displays that has the license information for existing phones and nodes. Copy this information. To copy the contents on this windrow, you can use Ctrl-A (Select All) and Ctrl-C (Copy).
Step 3 On the License Registration window of CCO website, in the text box provided, paste the file contents using Ctrl-V.
Step 4 You must enter the MAC address of the Cisco Unified CallManager server that you are requesting the licenses for, and a valid E-mail Id.
Step 5 To obtain the actual license file, click Submit. A license file is generated.
Step 6 You must upload the license file to the server with the matching MAC address that you provided in Step 4.

  • Licenses for 5545x. "How to install licenses from CD?"

    Hello
    I have (4) new ASA5545x'
I also received (2) sets of the following licenses which came CD in white cardboard envelopes:
             -Cisco ASA 55xx Series
             Any Connnect Mobile
             ASA 5545 License
             Product: ASA-AC-M-5545=
The Product key is in the envelope
             -Cisco ASA 5545-X CX AVC
and Web Security Essentials (3 year Promo)
             ASA 5545 License
             Product: ASA5545-AW3Y-PR=
The Product key is in the envelope
             -Cisco Any Connect 55xx Series
             Phone Licenses
             Product: ASA-AC-PH-5545=
The Product key is in the envelope
The ASA's will be configured for HA
Can someone provide a step-by-step guide for this implementation.

The Mobile and Phone licenses must be installed on the ASA proper. Here is a link to the procedure.
While you are on the ASA licensing portal, also check on your unit to make sure you have the (free) 3DES-AES license activated. If not, you can also request that on the portal.
The AVC and WSE license combo is on the NGFW / CX module and must be activated from within the PRSM (Prime Security Manager - the management GUI) after you've performed the initial setup per the Quick Start Guide. Here is a link to the "Managing System Licenses" section of the PRSM User Guide.

  • Paging through phones and external simultaneously on UC560

I have a new install that just threw me a bit of a twist.  They would like to page through both the phones and an old external paging system.  I have previously used an interface between an FXO port and external paging on CUCM and CUMBE with an adapter and an access code to hit the FXP port but I am not sure if I can do both on the UC560 for the same paging code.
Anyone here ever had any success doing both?

Kudos to Daniel (and David's!) suggestion of using a SPA phone for overhead paging with the UC560! We had the amp tied into the FXS port on the UC560, but we still couldn't page both on the handsets and overhead even with a blast group. Also, we noticed that there was a bit of crackling and popping at the start of each page, and all the overhead speakers produced white noise. We bought a SPA504g (we wanted a true display) for $80 on ebay. Popped it open (use tiny flathead to defeat the "tamper-proof" screws in the SPA phone). Cut the speaker wires off the speaker inside and stuck them through one of the screw holes (no drilling needed). Put the unit back together. Used scotch-locks to tie the speaker wires to a pair of wires off of CAT5 that ran to the amp. Voila! Perfect. We actually had to turn the amp volume down. No popping, no crackling, no white noise. We taped the phone down (as you can see by our lovely picture, don't tape down the buttons though) and stuck it on the back wall of the IT closet where we could get to it if needed. Total cost: $82.00 for phone, scotch locks, piece of CAT5, two pieces of tape, and about 30 mins to modify and install. Downside: it uses one phone license.
Don't forget to assign an extension to the new phone and place it in your paging group!

  • CUCM & CME licensing

    Hello
I  know this may seem a strange question but I am struggling to find an  answer to it and am hoping this is the correct place to post the  question and get an answer.
Our  organisation currently has a CUCM cluster. When new phones are needed  the organisation buys the phones and the required number of licenses for  the phones.
Each of the 3 remote sites has a 2851 running in SRST mode if it looses contact with the CUCM servers.
I  know all the theory about CUCM etc but I am new to administration on a  live network. There are a couple of questions which have been asked  lately that I am unclear about.
    1.  There are some plans to add 4 more remote sites to the system, the  question has been asked if more phone licenses need to be bought. I have  advised that licenses are bought with the phones (depending on the  phone model). The phones are new not spares so they need the licenses.
    2.  If some of the original sites decided to break away from the current  set-up and use their 2851 in CME mode will they need to buy more  licenses for their phones. I was unclear of the position on this but I  did not think it possible to transfer CUCM licenses to CME.
I  am sorry if this is rather a basic question but although I have spent a  bit of time looking through Cisco documentation on licensing I am still  unclear on the answers to these questions.
I would appreciate any help on this or if someone could point me in the direction where I can find the information
    Kind Regards

Thank you for the info but I might not have explained myself properly
We dont want to replace CUCM licenses with CME licenses, it is more a case of if one of the remote sites which currently is registered to the CUCM decides to go on their own and use their 2851 gateway as a CME router can the current licenses on the CUCM system be transfered to the CME.
I thought that the CUCM licenses could only be transferred between CUCM systems but I might be wrong
I was also a bit unsure of what type of phone licenses the CME actually needed.
    Thanks for your input
    Ellen

  • UC500 user licensing

    Hi,
license file is UC520-8U-2BRI-K9 , it shopuld allow just 8 users.
My question is what user means?does it mean  extension? when I do " show version" I get the following input:
    14 User Licenses
    10 FastEthernet interfaces
    2 ISDN Basic Rate interfaces
    2 terminal lines
    4 Voice FXS interfaces
    1 Voice MoH interface
    1 cisco service engine(s)
Why is says 14 users when the file is for 8 users ?
Also max-dn can be maxed to 14. does it mean users equal DN.
this licensing  is a bit confusing.
    Thanks,
    Hamed

    Hi Hamed,
UC520-8U-2BRI-K9 is the hardware partcode.Below is the discription for the HArdware partcode.
8-user Cisco Unified CME Base, Cisco Unity Express  and phone feature license, 2 Basic Rate Interface (BRI) ports, 4 FXS ports, and 1 VIC slot.
Here 8 Users means 8 IP Phones License. And Also some additional WAN port  and Expansipon ports available with this Hardware.
