Uconnect problem

When I pair my Tour 9630 with my 2009 car, it starts a "calling connection" , blanks the radio, starts a call timer and won't release unless I turn off the bluetooth in the phone.  I called Chrysler, they looked on a compatability list and this phone was not on it.  They told me software updates are provided periodically and to call the dealer.  The dealer said nothing is available. Anyone have a fix?  Can RIM provide one to Chrysler?

Has anyone been able to come up with a solution to the Uconnect/Blackberry Tour problem?  I am having issues with my 06 Grand Cherokee. I can get it all to connect, but the Uconnect will not disconnect unless I manually disconnect the device on my Blackberry. It is very frustrating because my old phone worked like a charm with Uconnect. Now I either drive with my Uconnect on and no radio, or I take my chances and drive without Uconnet.

    Do not get an iphone 5 if you want to use it with a Chrysler product.  The Chrysler Uconnect system might pair with your phone but the uconnect system will usually abend and become unusable after a few telephone conversations.  I have been to the dealer twice.  They have reset the uconnect system twice and I find it works for about 2 to 3 phone calls then it abends and uconnect becomes useless.  They had me call Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753.  I was told that the iphone five is not compatable at this time with any chrysler uconnect phone through the dash system, even the new vehicles.  He had me get on this web site: www.uconnectphone.com as a place to monitor as when it would be compatable.  They told me that Samsung seems to be working harder to make it compatible than apple is and they had no idea when it would begin to work.  In effect Chrysler was telling me dump the iphone and get a Samsung if you want it to work in a Chrysler.  Also, the site would only give you information for Chrysler that were 2008 or newer, they gave the following number to call if your vehicle was older.    I called that number and they told me that Chrysler and Uconnect had no plans at all to make the iphone 5 work, in the future, on any Chrysler older than 2008.  So.......If you have a Chrysler or Dodge that is older than 2008 you will NEVER  be able to use an iphone5 on the uconnect through the dash system.   Do not buy an iphone if you have an older vehicle.  It will never be supported for the $1,000 you paid for this uconnect system on your car.  My car is a 2005 Town and Country.  I asked both Chrysler and uconnect if their was some sort of work around so I could use my phone.  They both told me their was not and that they had no plans to resolve this situation for my vehicle.  This means that I need to either get rid of my $42,000 vehicle with low milage or get rid of my Iphone 5.  Niether are really good options. 
    I was also givne the following places to send formal complaints, even though I was told that neither Chrysler, Dodge or Apple were going to do anything to correct my problem:

    This response is a little late as I just read about your problem. I have a 2012 Dodge Charger and a 2012 Chrysler Town and Country and both worked flawlessly with the iPhone 5s my wife and I had. However, we just upgraded to the iPhone 6 and Uconnect will receive calls but you cannot answer them. You can callout successfully, however. the annoyance being the inability to answer incoming calls in the HandsFree mode.

When I contacted uconnect they instructed me to call apple to see what it is that I can download to my phone to make work... I mean it pairs fine ... it keeps dropping the calls from the audio system... then I call apple and they toll me that there is nothing they can do since every thing they have is up-to-date... then instructed me to get my money back for the uconnect...hahaha.. not funny at all ... between the $400.00 phone and the $800.00 part and installation for the unconnect something has got to give!!! If any1 has a solution plz contact me asap! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • Z10 and Chrysler (Jeep) 730N Uconnect bluetooth problem

    My new Z10 phone bluetooth is not recognized by 2012 Jeep 730N navigation unit bluetooth.  Z10 has discover turned on but it is not seen on the vehicle.  Nor is the Jeep Uconnect recognized by the Z10.  Z10 paired fine with navunit in a different vehicle with aftermarket Kenwood and also paired wth Plantonics earpiece.  Jeep website says the 730N has latest softwre.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  I'm stuck. 

    I have a similar problem. 2008 Dodge Durango, with a Mopar uConnect module. Previous BB 9820 worked perfectly. Paired up, connected immediate on entry to the vehicle. Didn't sync the contact folder, but I didn't need that.
    Z10 with OS 10.1 causes radio to lock up, won't respond to presses of the uConnect button until minutes later. When it does allow a call to be made or received, it disconnects 30 seconds into the call and locks up the radio.
    This is a royal PITA.

  • Jeep Uconnect phone problem

    I have a 2005 Jeep Grand Cherokee that has Uconnect for connecting a bluetooth phone - I've been using a ROKR phone from Motorola for the last year of so and all has worked fine - I just got an iPhone two days ago and paired it with the Jeep with no problems - it worked fine for a day - but I then started to have problems; when making a call it would accept the commands (call or dial, etc) but when it would go to dial it would then appear to break the connection (a message would appear that the connection was lost and the connect icon would go to no bars of signal and then instantly leave the phone menu and return the screen to what ever function was on (like nav)); but then all of a sudden a voice would say "hello" and the person I called would be there; there was no sound of ringing or any other indication that the phone was still active before I heard the other persons "hello."; v. frustrating - so I went to a v. crowded Apple store and managed to get to the Genius bar where the recommendation was to do a complete reset - and try again - I did and it has worked for a few calls - time will tell if the problem comes back - my gut feeling is that it will - I don't know where the problem lies - probably somewhere in the software - the ROKR never had this (or really any other problems) - I was just wondering if any of you (especially those with Chrysler or Jeep vehicles) have had any similar problems?

    Oh. But i think that my flex is ok. the display is 100% working... But maybe it is loosen. So, when i slide down maybe the flex would loosen up then it cause display problems.
    Its hard to find a store in the Philippines that support Sony Ericsson.

    Also remember that all handsfree bluetooth devices have a limit of how many phones you can pair with it, check how many phones you already had paired with your uconnect unit, try deleting  the ones you do not use anymore.

  • UConnect 430N and iPod 4th Gen

    I have a 2012 Jeep Grand Cherokee with the uConnect 430N media center.  I have been wanting to use my 4th generation iPod for various podcasts that I don't want to put on the media center's hard drive.  The problem I have is that whenever I plug the iPod into either of the USB ports (in the radio faceplate or inside the armrest) it never shows up as an AUX device.  I thought that it might have been an issue with the USB port, but I was able to use my iPhone 4S, without Bluetooth turned on, and it worked perfectly showing up as an USB AUX device.
    Has anyone else had issues like this before?  I have updated the iPod's OS to the most current and looking at all of the documentation that came from Jeep on the media center, the 4th generation iPod should work, but it is not.

    Does it specifically state the 4G iPod? By 4G iPod I assume you mean the 4G iPod Color as is described in this Apple support document.

  • Iphone 2.0 update no longer working with Chrysler Uconnect Hands Free

    Hello. I recently downloaded the 2.0 update for my original iphone and it will no longer work with the my Uconnect hands free setup in my 2008 Dodge Ram. I am a Chrysler Dealer Parts Manager and have installed and shown many people how to set these uconnect hands free devices up but I have no connection with the 2.0 update. I pair the phone as a new phone and it will pair but will not show up at all and it says "No Phone". Anybody know a fix for this. Help Apple!!!

    I have a new Dodge Nitro. U Connect and iphone were working great. I had no problems until the 2.0 update. I tried calling apple care but gave up quickly when I realized I was going to be waiting forever with everything else they have going on.
    The weird thing was that I was on a call trying to get some help from a friend of mine and all of a sudden the phone started working with the u connect. Then after leaving and returning to the car it stopped working again. Haven't been able to get it working since. I though maybe you had to be on a call for a while before it would transfer over. That wasn't it.
    I tried turning off wireless too. Again no effect.
    The phone shows that it is paired with the u connect. I've tried unpairing and repairing several times still to no effect. They just aren't working. This is a HUGE problem. I love my iPhone but may have to give it up and switch if they don't come up with a fix in the next month or so.
    Anybody who can help me solve this would definitely move to the top of my Christmas Card List!

  • How come my iphone 5 with 6.1.4 no longer pairs with Uconnect on my brand new 2013 car?

    Three months ago I puchased a new car with Uconnect.  The dealership paired the phone but now it no longer pairs.  I called apple support and also Uconnect.  Both feel that there might be a version problem with 6.1.4.  My guess is that I probably updated the apple software and that is probably when it stopped pairing with Uconnect.  The phone does work with other devices I pair with.  I am certainly not very happy that I cannot use my older apple iphone 5 in this new car any longer.  Can anyone help me?  I feel like I am caught inbetween apple and the dealership with no solution in sight.

    Hi Mario, thanks for your reply.  I have upgraded my Iphone 5 to the latest 7.0 software but I still cannot connect to Uconnect on my 2013 Dodge.
    Again my Iphone worked when I first purchased the car but no longer will connect.  At least after installing the 7.0 version on my iphone, Unconnect did ask me for the name of my phone and to say a pairing number but right after it asked me for the number the pairing failed.  It did not provide a paring number to me like when I first paired the phone.  Is it possible that it wants to know the orginial pairing number that I used for my Iphone?  I justed used four zeros since I don't remember the numbers I first used.  By way I had deleted my iphone before doing this so I don't think the pairing number is a problem.  I think it is something else.   By the way my Iphone will pair with other blue tooth devices.   Any additional ideas? 
    I guess it is possible that Uconnect is not keeping up with the Iphone versions but I hope is not the case.

    How can I get my iphone 4s running IO7.0.4 to work with my UCONNECT system in my 2013 Chrysler?
    I have talked to UCONNECT and the tekkie said "you will have to live with it because your phone is too advanced for our software and we do not have an update planned."  I prress the "connect" button on the steering wheel and tell the phone to call a person on mobile.  I says it cannot call "somebody else" as they do not have a mobile number.  But the person it says is not the person I said. 
    It is like it is not reading the phonebook correctly.

    Everything worked perfectly until I updated to IO 7.  Then it went out the window.  I cnnot be the only person with this problem and hopefully someone out there has overcome this problem.  If you just stop at the first NO we would still be flipping our phones open.

    Could you perhaps provide a bit more details? Email? Calendar? Contacts? OTA? Tethered to PC? Tethered to MAC?

  • IOS 7 and Uconnect 8.4

    So I just got my 2013 Dodge Dart GT with the Uconnect 8.4 system. It seemed to work at first just fine with the USB conection playing stuff outside of the music list like Spotify, Youtube, Etc. Now when I connect it to the USB it will auto start the music and I will try to stop it and play audio from a different source on the phone it will work for like 2 seconds and then freaks out and jumps back to the music from the built in music app. Is anyone else having this problem I htought it was just a problem with Spotify but it seems to do this with all apps on the phone leading me to believe it is either an iOS problem or the uconnect.
