UCS Growth requirements/performance measurements

Hi,
Currently we are running the folllowing configuration
2 x Chassis
2 x FI
8 x Blade Servers (4/Chassis)
2 x Server ports per every IOM
1 x Ethernet Uplink port per FI
1 x FC Uplink port per FI.
In the future we are looking at increasing the amount of Blade servers and possibly another Chassis.
How do we determine when we will need the following:
- 4 Server ports per IOM
- More Ethernet Uplinks and start pinning
- More FC uplink ports and start pinning
What are the best ways to monitor current performance out of the uplink ethernet and FC ports to determine if there require more ports?
I expect if the whole Chassis was full (8 Blades) then we should use 4 ports per IOM but is there a way to check on the throughput of these connections?
Also current license is only 8 ports per FI so we would need to increase this but what incrementals can we increase it by (e.g. 16 ports, 24 ports etc..??)

For SharePoint server on-premise, we can use the Visual Studio Team System (Team Test Load Agent)

Performance Measurement - CRM UI

Hi,
I am working on a CRM Search Application which involves development of a CRM BSP UI for the CRM Sales area. The question I have applies to all CRM applications that have a BSP UI.
Is there any means/tool using which I can measure the overall time spent from the CRM UI to Backend and then back to CRM UI?
There are a few business objects used in the backend and also some filtering and formatting logic on them. Also, there are multiple components involved. What I need is a tool by which I can measure the following:
1. The overall time spent (UI -> Backend -> UI)
2. If there are more than 1 components in the backend, share of total time consumed in each component.
3. Total time share for each Business Object in the backend
I tried the Performance Monitor (CNTRL + SHIFT + F7) but the results are not accurate in some cases.
I would be very happy if you suggest me a tool that can achieve this.

Hi,
Checks that the parameter disp / gui_auto_logout is equal to or greater than the parameter rdisp / plugin_auto_logout.
If the parameter TIMEOUT (icm / server_port_ <x> = PROT = HTTP, PORT = xxxx, TIMEOUT = xxx, xxx = PROCTIMEOUT) has defined, parameter overrides the keepalive.

You can do that through ST03.
But for that you need to activate the statistics cube and the business conatent query.
It will give the time consumed by the queries and other stuff.

System performance measurements

I just finished the snow leopard upgrade without a hitch. While my macbook pro appears to be slightly faster I would like to see some numbers. I have looked around and I can not find any information on memory utilization. As simple as it sounds I would also like to confirm that my system is running in 64bit mode. Your tips on where to find the performance data would be greatly appreciated. -thanks!

It's not going to be easy to confirm the speed difference; they are subtle and tough to measure, especially if you don't have your same system running 10.5 to compare.
As far as 64 bit mode, open Activity Monitor and ensure the "Kind" field is visible, and you can see that applications are running in 64 bit mode. The kernel itself defaults to 32 bit mode for a number of good reasons, but if you want to read a bunch of bickers about it, have a read here. Apple default the kernel to 32 bit for numerous good reasons. If you're not running > 8 GB of RAM and running a server, you really do want the kernel to run as 32 bit.

We have disc latency problem on the Cisco UCS servers. If servers connect to the netapp storage, we have a performance problem on the Cisco UCS Servers. We checked IO tools; We saw this disk rates;

UCS Blade Utilization / Performance Monitoring Tools?

An unnamed software system vendor from whom we have purchased product was not ready to support their product in a virtualized platform environment. But we are a Cisco UCS shop. So we added a chassis, put four blades in it, and let the vendor install and configure their product across the four blades. I am not satisfied with the performance of their application, and have doubts that it is actually using the resources of all four blades. And I have no idea how to see the utilization of CPU Mhz or memory or even the blade-to-blade communication that one would expect the software system's clustering to implement.
NetApp has a great tool in OnCommand System Manager for monitoring the storage system performance. vSphere does a nice job with vSphere Client for datacenter hosts and the guests defined therein. But these blades are used as individual Linux servers....I'm looking for a way to get a view of how the application is using these compute resources.
Is anyone aware of a useful performance dashboarding tool available for monitoring the performance of blades in a UCS chassis?

A couple of answers:
ESXi hosts are monitored using a connection to vSphere, not directly to each ESXi host. By connecting to vSphere, UCS PM is able to track VMs as they vMotion from host to host. vSphere versions supported are 4.1, 5.0, 5.1.
Microsoft Servers are monitored using the WinRM protocol. Supported versions include 2003, 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2. Hyper-V is supported on 2008, 2008 R2, 2012, and 2012 R2.
UCS PM is a performance and capacity monitoring product for people running UCS-based integrated infrastructures. That means it covers OS, virtualization, UCS compute, storage, and a focused set of network devices.
DCNM helps people implement, visualize, and manage a UCS Unified Fabric. It works with a really broad range of network devices.
You might well want both products. It depends on what you're trying to do!
In general UCS PM is licensed by the server, where all servers in a domain must be covered. There's one version just for the UCS fabric and one that covers all the integrated infrastructure components.
Perhaps a Cisco employee can respond on pricing.

Performance measure for BPEL process using Oracle BPEL Process Analytics

For measuring perfomance of a bpel process, can we use Process Analytics? Is this to be purchased separately? Is any other tool available which can be used measuring performance of a bpel process. & produces graphical reports etc? (product / open source)

I would to do a stress test, with different session concurrently, of Analysis Add-in in Citrix and measure the memory and cpu consumed.
So i need something that permit to :
1) simulate concurrent use of Analysis Add-in
2) measure the performance and resource used during this test
To avoid risk when the more than 100 people using concurrently Analysis add-in and occur CPU or memory issue.
I find some tools that permit to do this analysis, for example: Citrix Edgesight, but i would know if someone have done these analysis before to release to Analysis for Office as Citrix Add-in.

LR6 vs LR5 performance measurements

Here are some quick measurements I've done so far. System is running Windows 7 64-bit, i7-3770K quad-core processor overclocked to 4.5ghz, 32GB DDR, LR catalog on SSD, raw files on 7200RPM HD. Video card is NVidia GeForce GTX 650 Ti - GPU acceleration confirmed functional under LR6.
Importing 74 D800 raw files with 1:1 previews
LR5.7: 4 minutes 43 seconds
LR6: 4 minutes 58 seconds [same with GPU acceleration on/off]
Exporting 74 D800 raw files to JPEG, full-size, 80% quality, all default develop options
LR5.7: 4 minutes 3 seconds
LR6: 2 minutes 53 seconds
The Export module is making better use of multiprocessing. Here is a comparison of CPU utilization between LR5.7 and LR6 for the D800 export:

Regarding utilization of GPU acceleration, I analyzed LR6's operation under Microsoft's Windows Performance Analyzer and found the following:
Import+Preview Generation: Doesn't use GPU
Export: Doesn't use GPU
Develop Module 100% initial zoom/rendering: Modest amount of GPU utilization
Develop Module Adjustment sliders: Significant GPU utilization. All sliders found to use GPU
Develop Module Adjustment brush: Significant GPU utilization

I do performance testing for our own software applications. So far our web
servers have been WIN NT running IIS 4. Now, our development group have
started to work with WebLogic.
I have never worked with Weblogic and I feel a little in the dark. Where
could I find information on how to do Performance monitoring for a WebLogic
Server?

HDD performance measuring in Solaris 9

How can I measure HDD performence and a total performence of mashine ?
(I have 6x Seagate Chetah Ultra Widw 320 SCSI HDD on the some chanal, 2xIntel Xeon 2.8GHz, 2GB RAM) ORACLE installed on them, work slower them another mashine (1x Seagate Chetah Ultra Widw 160 SCSI, 2x Intel pentnium III 1GHz, 512MB RAM) by the some database.

Single Select statement is certainly better.
But no need to do select * and using into corresponding fields. These will reduce the performance. Also the loop statment is not absolutely correct. Following could be a sample code.
TYPES: BEGIN OF gx_ekes, (maintaining same sequence of fields as in select statement, this way no need of into corresponding fields)
             ebeln type ebeln,
             ebelp type ebelp,
             menge type bbmng,
             dabmg type dabmg,
             END OF gx_ekes.
