UD AFTER maintaining modification rule in material.

Dear Collegues,
We have created inspection lots were at the time there was no modification rule assigned to material.
We do have assigned a rule now. For the above lots itu2019s not possible to take a usage decision. We did physically inspect the parts so we want to record the usage decision for future reference.
Is it possible to create a UD on these inspection lots as the system says we cannot.
Thank you.
Kind regards,
Andy.

Dear Sujit,
Thank you for your reply.
The issue is that we cannot create a UD in the first place as  we cannot access the inspection lot through QA32.
Regards,
Andy.

  • How to Implement Dynamic Modification Rule for Material & multiple vendor Combination

    Hi Team,
In dynamic modification rule for Material &  vendor combination, i have maintained material & vendor in Inspection plan at Material Assignments
1.If i purchase same material from different vendors then how to implement ?

    Hi Balaji,
I am not sure if i have followed your requirement.
What do you want to do with Vendor Z? Do you want to inspect each lot from Z?
    If yes:
Then Create 2 Inspection plans with same Operations and Same MICs, In Material Assignment, mention Vendor as Z so that 1st inspection plan will only be for Vendor Z. Do not enter DMR in Header.
In 2nd inspection plan Enter DMR and do not mention any vendor so this plan will be applicable for all vendors except Z.
    If No:
Then create Qm info record for vendor Z with "No inspection" set in QI06.

  • Dynamic Modification Rule In Quality Module

    Dear All
Please explain me in detail how to use Dynamic Modification Rule (At Lot Level) In quality Module.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rahul Bhardwaj

    Hi,
    Dynamic Modification Rule
    Definition
The basic data record contains the definition of the inspection stages, the dynamic modification time (at lot creation or after the usage decision has been made), and the conditions for the inspection stage change. Inspection stage changes occur on the basis of the inspection results that are recorded for inspection lots and inspection characteristics (that is, on the basis of their acceptance or rejection).
    Use
You can vary the inspection scope using dynamic modification rules. You can store a dynamic modification rule in one of the following places:
In the inspection plan at the header level
In the inspection plan at the characteristic level
In the inspection setup of the material master record at the inspection type level
    Structure
A dynamic modification rule contains the definition of the inspection stages, the dynamic modification time, and the conditions that lead to an inspection stage change.
There are always two options that apply to the conditions for an inspection stage change: An acceptance (OK) and rejection (not OK). The system uses these conditions to update the quality level, which always reflects the current status.
The functions for maintaining and displaying dynamic modification rules are primarily contained on three screens:
On the initial screen, you enter the identifier for the dynamic modification rule.
On the header data screen, you maintain a short text and the blocking indicator, and define the time of dynamic modification (at lot creation or when the usage decision is made) and the reset period.
The reset period defines the period of time, which must elapse before the quality level again uses the initial inspection stage specified in the dynamic modification rule as the current inspection stage.
On the inspection stages screen, you edit the inspection stage data (inspection severity, skip, initial inspection stage, and short text). You create the rules for the inspection stage change on this screen.
In QM, the inspection stage describes a test or inspection status that is based on the inspection history and predefined rules. Different inspection stages mean that there are also different inspection scopes and/or inspection severities.
    Creating a Dynamic Modification Rule
1.Choose Logistics ® Quality management ® Quality planning ® Basic data ® Sample ® Dynamic modification rule ® Create.
2.Enter the identifier for the dynamic modification rule on the initial screen or choose Copy to use an existing dynamic modification rule as a copy model.
3.Choose Dynamic modification rule to carry out the following activities on the header data screen:
Edit the short text for the dynamic modification rule.
Define the time of dynamic modification (at lot creation or usage decision).
    Define the reset period.
Set the blocking indicator if you want to prevent the dynamic modification rule from being used in an inspection plan.
4.Choose Next screen to carry out the following activities on the inspection stages screen:
    Define inspection stages.
Define inspection severities for individual inspection stages.
    Identify skips.
    Identify the initial inspection stage.
Maintain short texts for the inspection stages.
5.Choose Stage change to carry out the following activities on the screen for creating the inspection stage change:
Define the specifications for a stage change for an acceptance (OK)
Define the specifications for a stage change for a rejection (Not OK)
6.Choose Next screen to return to the inspection stages screen and save your entries.
When you save the data, the system prompts you for a confirmation. If you want to include the dynamic modification rule in the allowed relationships for sampling procedures and dynamic modification rules (this is only necessary if a sampling procedure is used in a sampling scheme), you can switch directly to the assignment transaction by confirming this prompt. You define the assignment of sampling procedures and dynamic modification rules in this screen.
If you do not confirm the prompt, the system returns directly to the initial screen and confirms that it has created the dynamic modification rule.
    Hope this helps.
    Award points if useful.

    Tejas

  • QM:Maximum skip duration in dynamic modification rule

    Hi
Can anybody explain how the system behaves with
QM:Maximum skip duration in dynamic modification rule.
    Gobinathan G

    Hi,
In dynamic modification rule you maintain the inspection modification based on the quality level. You mention the maximum skip duration for resting the skip status if the inspection lot is not created during the specified period after creation of last inspection lot. That means the Skip status will be reset to Inspection status if the lot is not created during the specified period & you will have to inspection the lot instead of skipping. If the lot is generated within the period, then you will be able to skip the inspection.

  • Dynamic Modification Rule (At Lot Level) In Quality

    Dear All
Please explain me in detail how to use Dynamic Modification Rule (At Lot Level) In quality Module.
    Thanks & Regards
    Rahul Bhardwaj

    Dear,
In material master under (QM view) active "Skip allow"  indicator.
Skip lotting in SAP is some what different. SAP does not actual prevent the creation of the inspection lot. It simply sets a status of SKIP on the inspection lot. The lot is still there and if desired, it can be used. Once a characteristic is accessed in the lot, it becomes a normal inspection lot.
You need to setup an auto UD batch job for processing the skip lots and closing them. Skip lots have their own "wait" time defined in plant QM config settings.
That means by DMR you can not stop the inspection lot generation.
    Hope clear to you.

    Hi gurus
18.02.2009 i created one STO PO. but material price in the accounting view the price was "Zero" in plant 1000. In plant 2000 the price has already maintained.
But today i updated the material price like Rs 200/- through MR21 for plant 1000.
After that while i transport the material through MB1B (351 mvt type) plant 1000 to 2000, i got the following error msg.
"ZFI999:Maintain price for the material 254600254 in plant 1000".
    Regards

    Hi Amsi
the message no is not standard i think there has been a new message created. please check with your ABAPer about the message.

  • MM50 Extend Mtrl costing view, but after maintaining costing view in OMS2.

    Hello Sap Gurus,
I have a Unique Issue, i have created few 1000s Materials with material type ZDEN, now initially while creating these materials the costing View was not selected in the Material Type,
but after creating this 1000s of material under ZDEN material type, now we require Costing View to be maintained for this material which are already created,
so as an option we went to the material type ZDEN in OMS2 and extended the costing Views for the material type,
now if i go to MM50 to extend material costing views I'm not able to extend the costing view for the materials, it gives me an error no materials selected,
but alternately if i try extending the costing  views individually for each material by MM01 transaction it allows me to extend costing views to the material selected,
is there any bug or issue note to be applied or any solution for this mass extension of views in material master, any bapi to extend Materials of this scenario,
    Awaiting your reply,
    Thanks and regards
    S Kumar

when you create a material master after initial customizing of OMS2 then SAP writes the possible views into table MOFF
If you then do customizing in OMS2 and add the costing view, this is not updated for  all your exsting materials
Hence you dont get them via MM50 because it selects the materials based on entries in MOFF,  but you can extend with MM01 as SAP checks the current customizing.
execute transaction OMSM which can rebuilt the table and see if you then get your materials in MM50

  • Maintain Derivation Rules - TCode : GGB1

    Hi friends
What is the importance of Maintain Derivation Rules (TCode : GGB1) with respect to Profit center accounting. Is it a compulsory step in configuration or not?
At our client we are implementing the ECC 6.0 with new GL activation. In this case what is the importance of this "Derivation Rules".
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
GGB1 is used for substitution maintenance. It's certainly not manadatory. Only if you have some functional requirement for subsitution, you should use this transaction.

  • Error: Maintain settlement rule of the sender for a higher level WBS

    Hi,
I dont want to maintain the settlement rule for a higher level WBS. How can i configure this in such a way that i dont get the following error:" Maintain settlement rule of the sender" while doing CJ88. Maintaing a separate Settlement profile for a higher level WBS is an option but we are looking if something else could be done The problem is that there are no actuals booked against, say, level 2 WBS but when i execute CJ88, i get the aforesaid error. How can i ensure that only the lowest level WBS ask for the settlement rule and not the levels above it. I have already removed the Investment profile from the higher level WBS but still getting the same error.
    Regards,
    DPil

    Hi,
It is a type Capex WBS and Biling element is not checked. In fact i get a warning while doing the settlement: WBS is neither a billing element nor an account assignment element.
    Diagnosis
WBS element  is not indicated as either an account assignment element or as a billing element in the master record.
    System Response
The WBS element cannot be assigned to an account.
    Procedure
Correct your entries or add the missing indicator to the master record for the WBS element.
But this is just a warning. On pressing enter i get the error :Maintain settlement rule of the sender "

  • In Purchase Order Line item Maintaining Serial Numbers for Material Codes

    Dear Gurus,
We have a business process in legacy system for Purchase Order like in PO line item, Material code with description, Quantity, unit of Measurement, Serial Number Start and Serial Number End is maintained, for example for Material code when we enter the data AXMLN00001 in Serial Number Start column, if the Qty 500 is maintained, by default system will calculate AXMLN00500 in Serial Number End column.
We understand that in standard SAP we donu2019t have this option of maintaining Serial Number Start and End in Purchase order Line item. Please let us know how this can be mapped and is it advisable to create two Z fields in EKPO table or else can we make any development.
Suppose if this is not possible in SAP for PO then in Banks if we want to place a order for Cheque books how we can maintain Start and End Serial Numbers to print in cheque books.
Also client is not agreeing to maintain manually Serial numbers in item text.
    regards,
    Dhanu

    Aamir,
When the PO Item was created say for example Material had Valuation category "Y" and latter you wanted to change the category to "Y". Now system would have check for all open PO's etc...based on this you must have set Deletion Indicator to this Line Item to allow valuation category change in material master. Now when this Item got created in the table level (EKPO), system updates the valuation category "Y". Currently this valuation category is not active so it would not allow you to perform removal of deletion indicator as program cannot automatically nor you have an option to manually update the valuation category to this Item.

  • Purpose of maintaining classification view in material master

    Hi gurus
can anyone explain Purpose of maintaining classification view in material master with example
    Regards
    Vishal...

    Hi
One of the reason we maintain classification is for batch management where characteristics like shelf life expiry date is being attached to a class & that class is maintained in material master so whenever transactions takes place it will read from the characteristics value.
the other purpose is with variant configruation, for a configurable material there will be more than one characteristics for ex: in a car it comes with A/C - non a/c, metallic - non metallic, normal steering - power steering all these are mainatained as characteristics & assigned to a class & we use that class in classification for materials.
there is many more advantages & ways of using classification in material master.
    Regards
    Rang
