Hi Guys,
I want to know whether UDDI server comes along with J2EE stack of the XI or I need to install it seperately.
I know about the UDDI client but I am not sure about the UDDI Server.
please give me some links or documents.

  • Regd.UDDI server configuration in PI 7.1 and services registry

    Hi ,
i have gone through many forum posts before posting this , so expecting a genuine answer:) which can be rewarded:).
I am using PI 7.1 and trying  to taste the services registry flavour of it.
i followed the SAP Note 1267817 - Configure Services Registry proxy , but i am not able to assign the roles
    SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_ONLY or SERVICES_REGISTRY_READ_WRITE in Su01.
i get a message that such a role doesnt exist at all.
Qn1:Do i need  installed any software componet like UDDI etc, or do in  need to have uddi server
configured for this , if yes how to do that..
I have seen the help.sap link : I am struck at the point "Discovery URL host name", according to the help.sap it will come automatically , but in my case it has some Rivalry.
Qn2:How to configure UDDI server n PI 7.1
, any step by step guide which applies to PI 7.1 will help.
Qn3:What is the relation between tcode soamanager, services registry and UDDI
Qn4: I am not able to search my services in soamanager->business administration->WS administration
I have activated the services (Webservice Runtime)as mentioned in the Blog
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/index?rid=/library/uuid/d06b6392-cde7-2c10-8f8b-bdea5d781dd9

    Thanks Raj,
This property specifies a URL for the host name of the *physical machine where the Discovery
API of the UDDI server is located.* Its value is set automatically by default.
I am not able to understand this present in [help.sap |http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwpi71/helpdata/en/45/c1ea61a1194432e10000000a155369/frameset.htm]
what may be  the reason for   not able to assign the above roles as per the sap note given above?
Is there any componet needs to be installed line UDDI?Can a technical user role have this roles
accepted,i used my ID for configuration XI super user!
After following the note partially i.e w/o giving the user roles. when in rt click sender agreement and say publish
it slaps me with this error
    Com.sap.aii.ib.core.uddi.RegistryCleintException:
A save request exceeded the quantity limits u2026Number of Business Entries Exceeds Your limit of 1(2)
But if i open Services registry  i can see that service got published.when i test in WS navigatore it
    gives 503 service unavailable error.
How to delete unused published services
. Initialy i took the wsdl URL generated from
disply WSDL and published using publish tab in Services Registry , they dont have any key associated.
How to delete them?I can see any direct option

  • Publishing XI exposed webservices in the UDDI Server of SAP WAS JAVA 640

    Hi Friends,
I have a question regarding publishing a WSDL created via XI (Integration Directory) to a UDDI Server of SAP WAS JAVA 640. Can I publish the WSDL generated from XI in the UDDI Server provided as a part of SAP WAS 640 ?  I know that the WSDL will be specific  for a client( sender) but I feel that its better than emailing the WSDL to the client after generating it in the integration directory. Any relevant documents, links explaining how to do that will be appreciated.
The above question was asked by Siva Maranani before. His question was as below .
"I know that whenever a webservice is developed using NDS it can be deployed in WebAs and the same can be registered in UDDI ( webAs acting as UDDI registry).
Now my requirement is to register a WSDL file (which describes) for an external webservice. Can WebAs be used as a UDDI registry..?
I like to know if this is possible or not..? if yes.. how..?"
    Waiting for the reply...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Mathew

    Hi Naveen,
Thanks for the quick response. I tried the steps mentioned in the link.
    1. Successfully created a new local UDDI registry in SAP WAS..
    2. Assigned users etc.
The place I am getting stuck is..
"Make sure that the Web Service Definition has already been created and configured".
I have a WSDL document created via Define webservice in the XI integration directory.(We are successfully able to call the webservice using this WSDL via .net & xmlspy)
Where should I upload this WSDL ? so that the users will able to download/reference it w/out myself emailing to them.We dont/won't have NDS installed in our landscape.
I understand that whenever a webservice is developed using NDS it can be deployed in WebAs and the same can be registered in UDDI ( webAs acting as UDDI registry).
The requirement is to register a WSDL file generated via XI w/out using NDS.
Did you able to  publish a WSDL file generated via XI in the local UDDI w/out using NDS ?
    waiting for your reply
    Thanks a lot,
    Mathew

  • Configuring hte UDDI Server

    Hello SDNs,
Can any one tell me what is the property value for "Discovery URL Host Name" and "OWN Node ID" value in UDDI Server configuration.
When i try to configure Service Registry, it says we should configure UDDI server before that.
If any one is having guide of UDDI server configuration of Service Registry configuration Please give the link for that
Currently i am following the help from the link: http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce711/helpdata/en/45/C1EA61A1194432E10000000A155369/frameset.htm

    Hi,
The one that Mario is saying is not in NWDS its in CE I guess.  I too face the same difficulty.  I give the following details that I did in my local CE.  After saving the setting I tried to clickd service registry I get some list of errors.  Kindly help me and Mario in resolving this.  Thanks in advance.
Between Mario the URL of the UDDI and classification is changed now... please note the details that I have set.

  • WebLogic UDDI Server

    Hi,
We are trying to implement Web Services with WebLogic server and planning to set
up a UDDI registry in two data centers. I have a couple of questions regarding
    WebLogic UDDI:
    1. Can the backend datastore be Oracle instead of LDAP?
    2. Should we run a standalone UDDI server outside the WebLogic server? Can WebLogic
UDDI server be running in a "standalone" mode? It does not seem to make much sense
to have a UDDI registry in each server. We have mutiple WebLogic clusters.
    3. In general, how should we handle UDDI data replication? Should be rely on the
    Database replication?
    I appreciate any help!
    Adam

    Hi Adam,
No, you cannot replace LDAP with another backend for UDDI.
There is a management layer [1] of administrative policies and behaviors
that provide the support for the replication process protocol. The UDDI
server that is bundled with WLS is a private repository and does not
    support the replication specification.

  • How to configure UDDI Server with in EDK with a 4.5WS?

I'm trying to develop a crawler service using EDK5.0.1 with a 4.5ws portal.
To do this job, I have to deploy and coufigure a UDDI Server which is a requirement for services in 4.5ws.
After develping and deploying a crawler service, I created gadget server in the 4.5ws portal, and tried to add remote data source, but the popup window for datasource seems not to be able to find the crawler service and showed 'Empty Gadget Server'.
I think I set up the uddi server with a wrong way, but I don't know what I have to do more to set a uddi server.
Actually, after developing crawler service and sci service, I deployed these with DeployServlet which is a deploy toolkit offered by EDK.
With this deploying result, I modified the uddi.xml file and put that file into c:\program files\Plumtree\ptedk\5.0\devkit\config\java\uddi folder.
Is there any things to set for uddi server?
Can anybody provide me any advise on this?
    Any help would be appricated.

The UDDI is used with web services in 4.5x. This is best described as a phone book of URLS for any web services installed in that machine. Those URLS will then point to the individual web services.
In 5.0 the UDDI server is not needed since it is replaced with the "Remote Server" and "Web Services" tabs. HOw to setup a UDDI with TOMCAT
UDDI can be setup to run with TOMCAT and I believe this is the only one provided in the EDK installer in the ptedk\5.0\devkit\java directory
Here's a little TOMCAT information. Web applications are deployed in a folder called "webapp". This case, we have a uddi server installed and it's in a folder called "uddi". So, our file structure for the UDDI server looks like: /webapp - tomcats web application folder /uddi - the uddi application /WEB-INF - standard WEB-INF directory stores java classes, jars and any descriptor files. server-config.wsdd - this is the web service descriptor file for this uddi server - provided by plumtree web.xml - this is the web.xml descriptor file for how the web services in this application will be loaded and run - provided by plumtree /lib - contains the jar files for the uddi server - provided by plumtree The server-config.wsdd file should be the only item that the user needs to modify. Within the file (XML based), there should be the following tag: <!--service for uddi server--> <service name="MessageService" provider="java:MSG" style="message"> <parameter name="allowedMethods" value="find_tModel find_business find_binding"/> <parameter name="className" value="com.plumtree.remote.uddi.UDDIServer"/> <!-- enter the base url for your services. The individual urls will be appended to this url--> <parameter name="baseUrl" value="http://rickc-loaner:81/ntcws/"/> <!-- Enter true if this is dotnet, leave at false if the service is java--> <parameter name="isDotNet" value="true"/> <!-- enter only the urls and names required for your service. For a java crawl, this would be crawler name, documentProviderRpc, containerProviderRpc, sciDataSourceRpc, sciCrawlRpc, and sciCardRpc if using remote card submission--> <!-- Enter the crawler name. This is the name that will show when expanding the remote server--> <parameter name="crawlerName" value="NT File CWS"/> <!-- Enter the auth name. This is the name that will show when expanding the remote server--> <parameter name="authName" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) document provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="documentProviderRpc" value="DocumentProviderSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) container provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="containerProviderRpc" value="ContainerProviderSoapPort"/> <!--sci values: the url for datasource, crawl and card may be the same--> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci data source soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciDataSourceRpc" value="SciSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci crawl soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCrawlRpc" value="SciSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci card soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCardRpc" value=""/> <!-- note that relative auth only works in rpc for 4.5--> <!-- Enter the url to the auth provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="authProvider" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the sync provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="syncProvider" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the auth sci (rap) soap endpoint --> <parameter name="authSci" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) document provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="documentProviderDoclit" value="documentprovidersoapbinding.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) container provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="containerProviderDoclit" value="containerprovidersoapbinding.asmx"/> <!--sci values: the url for datasource, crawl and card may be the same--> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci data source soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciDataSourceDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci crawl soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCrawlDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci card soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCardDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> </service> This tag contains the information that will be specific to the user's deployment of the web service (CWS or AWS).First off: <parameter name="baseUrl" value="http://machinename:81/ntcws/"/>
This is the location of the web server that has the target web service installed. THIS CANNOT BE "localhost". This has to be a resolvable machine name or IP address. In 5.0 this is the Remote Web Service settings. Second, you need to set the type of web service. <!-- Enter true if this is dotnet, leave at false if the service is java--> <parameter name="isDotNet" value="true"/> If your app server hosting the web service is dotnet, you need to set this to "true". This is equivalent to the Document encoding setting in 5.0. .NET supports Document/Literal incoding instead of RPC for Java. Third, name your web services. This is the name that will display in the drop down list in 4.5WS when you decide to create a remote data source. <!-- Enter the crawler name. This is the name that will show when expanding the remote server--> <parameter name="crawlerName" value="NT File CWS"/> <!-- Enter the auth name. This is the name that will show when expanding the remote server--> <parameter name="authName" value=""/> This is the web service name property when you create a new web service in 5.0. Next are the configuration settings for your particular web service: <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) document provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="documentProviderRpc" value="DocumentProviderSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) container provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="containerProviderRpc" value="ContainerProviderSoapPort"/> <!--sci values: the url for datasource, crawl and card may be the same--> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci data source soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciDataSourceRpc" value="SciSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci crawl soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCrawlRpc" value="SciSoapPort"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the rpc (Java) sci card soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCardRpc" value=""/> <!-- note that relative auth only works in rpc for 4.5--> <!-- Enter the url to the auth provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="authProvider" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the sync provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="syncProvider" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the auth sci (rap) soap endpoint --> <parameter name="authSci" value=""/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) document provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="documentProviderDoclit" value="documentprovidersoapbinding.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) container provider soap endpoint --> <parameter name="containerProviderDoclit" value="containerprovidersoapbinding.asmx"/> <!--sci values: the url for datasource, crawl and card may be the same--> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci data source soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciDataSourceDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci crawl soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCrawlDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> <!-- Enter the relative url to the doclit (.NET) sci card soap endpoint --> <parameter name="sciCardDoclit" value="xuiservice.asmx"/> These are equivalent to setting the Document provider URL, Container Provider URL, Remote UI URL etc etc that are in 5.0 web services settings. Once you have installed the UDDI server, and started TOMCAT, you should be able to hit the services list at:http://machinewithuddi:8080/uddi/services This will become your Remote Gadget Server URL and you should be good to go!!

  • Publishing ABAP WebServices to an Internal UDDI Server

Our Requirement is to create a Web Service from one of the Function Module and publish the same locally(i.e., one of our internal server itself). After published our dotnet team want to access these webservice from dotnet to get the functionalities used in these web service.
We are using a seperate ABAP and JAVA System. Is it possible to create a webservice and publish the same locally.

I try to create from se37. But the problem is my SAP J2EE Engine's release is 7.00. Services Registry is a java component and Not part of NW 7.00 Stack. Services Registry is delivered with 7.10 SP4.

  • How to Configure the Netweaver CE UDDI Server and Registry

    Hi,
I'm trying to configure the UDDI registry in Netweaver CE (trial version 7.1 SR 1) following the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/47e8e91587072fe10000000a155369/frameset.htm">SAP Help documentation</a>. But as the help is not detailed not sure whether I'm doing it correctly. I can access the Service Registry by http://<host>:<port>/sr but not sure whether everything is fine. Also I want to publish Enterprise Services in the registry. As it's not possible to do that from ABAP 7.0 WebAS (doesn't not support UDDI v3) I want to do it via the UDDI client. How to configure the UDDI client by providing the Inquiry URL, Publish URL, etc in the settings?
Please help me if anyone has any information regarding this.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

I am working through the same issues and have not found all of the answers.  However, this may get you closer.
See http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/635dd614d73bdbe10000000a1553f7/content.htm for some physical destinations that have to be set up for Visual Composer.
You can also connect to the registry in NetWeaver Developer Studio by launching the Web Services Explorer from the J2EE Perspecive.  See the help for more details.

  • Dynamic invoking web service via uddi regitry server

    Hi,
I need to call the web service dynamically after searching from the UDDI Registry Server. pls give me some reply that how to call the web service dynamic.

    Hi,
Try using the udditest.sap.com   it is the Test Registry provided.
Configuring the UDDI Client and UDDI Server    ::::
To use the UDDI client for publishing, updating, or discovering business services and tModels, first you have to administer the UDDI client as well as the UDDI server using the J2EE Engine Visual Administrator.
    Procedure
           1.      Select Web Services Container ® Runtime ® UDDI Client.
           2.      From the Available Registries list, select a UDDI registry.
                                a.      To enter a different Inquiry URL and Publish URL, choose Edit Registry and enter new locations.
Make sure that the URLs contain a  value. If they do not, then add the port value manually (for example, localhost:50000).
                                b.      To add a registry to the Available Registries list, choose New Registry.
                                c.      To remove a registry from the list, choose Remove Registry.
           3.      On the UDDI Server tab page, choose New User and enter the corresponding data. For more information, see Managing the UDDI Server in the Administration Manual.
Using the Visual Administrator, you can create users for а local test registry only.
Create the User here for the test registry used.

  • Dynamic lookup using UDDI inside of BPEL

Currently I'm looking into using UDDI as a solution to finding web services for BPEL, as opposed to simply keeping static WSDLs around. Initially I would just like to know if it is possible to do a lookup to a UDDI server inside of BPEL, and then invoke a service returned by the lookup.
The ideal solution we are looking for is to keep a local WSDL to one of the web services we would like to call. We would first attempt to call this web service... but on the event of a failure (such as the service being down), we could go to UDDI to find another instance of this service that is up and running.
This leaves a lot of questions though... how possible is it for BPEL to work dynamically in the first place? MUST I specify the location of the Web Service at compile time? Is it possible to keep a local directory with WSDLs in it, and have BPEL parse them at run time (meaning, I could invoke some function inside of BPEL to parse the WSDL to find the address to the web service)?
Is this solution even remotely do-able?
The other solution which seemed more feasible would be to create a proxy service, which basically mimics the input/output behavior of the original web service I want to invoke, but in reality is using UDDI to find the real web service, and forward the results to/from it.
I'm wondering why UDDI is generally so overlooked. It seems like it's a buzzword to get into your product, but nobody anywhere seems to make any actual usage out of it. It seems like a pretty important idea behind the SOA structure.

I think the challenge is in figuring out when to do the request for search to the backend. If you have fast turnaround time, you can probably send a new request each time the user types a character and bring back the results for it as they type - that may be overkill though. if this is the way you do it, then your filtering is done before it returns from the server. For performance reasons, you may wish to use a stored procedure in the database that does a regular expression search on your data ( only search the columns you have to.)
As for getting the data back: In the result handler, the function you specify [in the remote method call] to load the returned data into the local dataprovider, you could simply have it clear the dataprovider re-populate it and call refresh() on the dataprovider each time. I am not sure how that would appear to the user as it again depends on turnaround time from the backend, size of the dataset, etc.
I hope this gives you an idea at least. Without knowing more about your application and how it is architected, it is difficult to provide any "reasonable" recommendation. It is an interresting problem and one that sounds like fun to solve - of course, I am not sitting there with management breathing down my neck either.

  • Inquiry End Point for UDDI Connection

    Hello --
Does anyone know if there is a default UDDI Inquiry Endpoint URL that can be invoked when using Oracle Application Server/Portal?
I've been unable to get in touch with our administrator, and am trying to set up a test web service.
    Thanks,
    ~Christine

    Hi Dan,
The main problem I have is trying to use a UDDI server with BPEL to browse available web services.
I am also experiencing general integration problems with JDeveloper. I can create a connection to the UDDI registry, and find web services, but attempting to create java stubs from the web service results in errors.
Please take a look at the following posts for more details of the issues:
