UDF categories copy from user settings

Hello all...
Looking to transfer UDF Category info from one user settings to another.  Tried to copy settings from CPRF (following SAP Note 614616) and it works for most of the forms but NOT the udf categories.
Does anyone know of another solution?
Thanks...

Hi Isabelle
Can you please tall me if you have found a solution to copy the UDF categories.
Thanks in advance

  • Copy local user settings to network user account

I have a local user on my computer here, and I want to transfer all settings to a network account - things such as dock icons, mouse settings, everything so when I log on to the network account everything looks and acts the same. Can I do this. or do I need to start from scratch?

    Hi Brent,
The following has worked for me.
    1. Login to local machine as a local admin
    2. Delete user's account BUT choose the option to create a dmg of the user data.
    3. After completion, move the dmg to Users/Shared
    4. Log out
    5. Log in as your target OD network user (having created the server account, bound the client, etc)
    7. Open the dmg from /Users/Shared and copy the items from within each of Documents, Library, etc. Do NOT just copy Documents. Library, etc.... make sure you copy the contents
Everything should be in place at the next login. Have the user change password via System Prefs > Accounts asap and this will fix any keychain issues.

  • Scrolling table. Getting Number of Visible rows from User Settings.

    Hello everyone,
I hope you can show me the way to the light! here is my problem:
I have to control the scroll of a table, for allow to the user to see always one blank row for entry proposes.
For that I know that I can ge the number of visible rows and the first visible row through the methods:
    cl_wd_table->get_visible_row_count( ).
    cl_wd_table->get_first_visible_row( ).
The problem is that the user can modify the number of visible rows through the user settings in the table ( right button on the table "User Settings->more..." ) and it doesn't modify the value returned by the method cl_wd_table->get_visible_row_count( ).
How could I get the visible rows set up by the user in his user settings for control the scroll dynamically?
    Many thanks in advice.
    G.

    Hi G,
The changes what user will be making will be classified as personalization.
I was looking into the ways of finding the user specific personalization in the code and then callin the mthod set_first_visible_row.
There are few classes related to personalization like CL_WDR_PERSONALIZATION_SERVICE and CL_WDR_PERS_MANAGER.
I tried calling method get_pers_data of class CL_WDR_PERSONALIZATION_SERVICE. But for me it was not returning any data.
You can also look into these classes and try to fetch user specific personalized data with methods available.
Another way which I thought is to create a component  configuration and make the number of rows as Final so that end user is not able to personalize this ( I know u won't agree on this  ).
@ Thomas: Any specific inputs from your side on this problem.

  • SRM user settings deletion (like in program SAPBBPAT05)

    Hello experts!
I'm currently working on a user upload program
In this program I update some user settings which are available in the web interface via the "Settings" link in the header of the page
I already found how to add new attributes (thanks to the function module  BBP_CHANGE_ATTRIBUTES)
But I didn't managed yet to remove some attributes.
Does one of you know how to delete a line from user settings by using ABAP code?
    Thanks in advance
    Best Regards

  • Using copy from insert

I am using the below mentioned query to insert data from remote table to a local table.
    alter table <table_name> no logging;
    copy from &sq_source_user/&sq_source_pass&sq_source_inst insert <table_name> -
    using select * from <table_name>;
    alter table CMF logging;
can i use /*+ APPEND */ for not generating the archieve logs. I mean will it be useful ? as even specifying the no logging in above query generates the logs.

This seems to be a syntax error.
    copy from &sq_source_user/&sq_source_pass&sq_source_inst insert /*+ APPEND */ <table_name> -@sq_source_inst (You are saying & insted of @)
    i.e. COPY FROM &user/&password@instance_name ... ... ...

  • COPY FROM command on ORDIMAGE closes SQL-Plus !!

Hi, I4m using the following command:
    COPY FROM user/pass@Oracle6 INSERT mytable USING SELECT * FROM mytable;
...but it always starts processing and closes the SQL-Plus without copying data ! The tables contains an ORDIMAGE column, I wonder if it can be causing the problem.
    Thanks for any help.
    Alexandre.

    From the 9.0.1 doc.
Copies data from a query to a table in a local or remote database. COPY supports the following datatypes:
    CHAR DATE LONG NUMBER VARCHAR2
The COPY command is not being enhanced to handle datatypes or features introduced with, or after Oracle8. The COPY command is likely to be made obsolete in a future release.

  • Can I copy my apps/user settings from one drive/OS to another?

I have one drive of my system with 10.3.9, that I've been using for quite awhile, with all my apps, preferences, registrations etc.
I just installed a clean install of 10.4.3 on another drive.
Is there away to clone/copy all my user settings from the 10.3.9 drive to the 10.4.3 drive, so that it behaves the same way?
I didn't want to user the "transfer user settings" when I installed 10.4, because I need to keep the 10.3.9 system exactly as is.

Just erase the hard drive first. Here's the basic cloning process using Disk Utility:
    1. Open Disk Utility from the Utilities folder.
    2. Select the startup volume from the left side list.
    3. Click on the Restore tab in the DU main window.
    4. Drag the startup volume to the Source entry field.
    5. Select the backup volume from the leftside list and drag it to the Destination entry field.
    6. Check the box to Erase Destination.
    7. Double-check you got it right, then click on the Restore button.
If you prefer to keep your Panther system, then clone it to the new drive and update the new drive to Tiger. If you want both drives to have Tiger installed, then upgrade the Panther system to Tiger, then clone it to the new drive.
If you'd rather see how it goes using Migration Assistant, then by all means give it a try. Worst thing that can happen is you end up doing it my way. If Migration Assistant works properly you'll save some time and effort.

  • How to transfer user settings from one account to another (on the same Mac)

I'd like to create separate user accounts for "work" and "play" (so that I can do things like have separate address books, etc...). However, I already have LOTS of personalized settings (trackpad behavior, login items, etc) that I'd like to keep the same between the two accounts.
Is there a way to transfer all of the user settings from one account to another?

You'll need to copy your /Home/Library folder. Make sure you back up first before doing the following. Log out of both your Work and Play accounts. Log in to a third account with administrator privileges. Assuming you are copying from the account called "work" to the account called "play", enter the following in Terminal:
sudo rm -rf ~play/Library (this deletes Play's Library folder.)
sudo cp -R ~work/Library ~play/Library (this copies Work's Library folder to Play's folder.)
sudo chown -R play ~play/Library (this fixes permissions of Play's new Library folder.)

  • Using copy express for user settings

I am in the process of setting up 10 company databases on one system.  The same users will have access to all of the databases (over 100 users).  We have laboriously entered form settings for every possible form under the manager user in one of the databases.  We have a script to copy manager's settings to other users.
What I need to do is copy manager's settings from the first database to each of the others.  Copy express has an option to copy display settings, and I have attempted to do so.  But I get a message saying that the record already exists in the target database.  I know that manager has never changed any form settings in the other databases, so I don't know what record it is referring to.
Can anyone help with this?  Thanks.

  • Default user settings - prevent them from being wiped out

Elements 6.0 comes with intitial settings. For example:
Select tools have Anti-alias set to On.
The location of dialog boxes is pre-defined, then can be moved by the user.  Eg Selection > Feather, Create new layer, all the Enhancements, etc.
    Preset manager, Preferences.
    Other ease-of-use things I don't remember.
When I exit the program my settings are preserved. The next time I open the program the settings are as I left them.
But if Photoshop exits abnormally, and sometimes when it's just ornery, my settings are back to the factory settings.
I figure these user settings are saved in a file somewhere.  If I save the file and Photoshop reverts to factory settings, I should be able to restore the saved file and be back to hunky dory. But what file is it?
Anyone know what file this is, or another way around this nuisance problem?

Yes, you can save the current set of preferences and use those to replace corrupt preference files.
If on Windows, the preferences are in a hidden folder so you'll first have to "show hidden files and folders" on your system.
How to show hidden files and folders on Vista and Windows7:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/show-hidden-files-and-folders-in-windows-vist a/
After you have "hidden files and folders" toggled to show...
If on Vista or Windows 7, type .psp in the start menu search bar, Photoshop elements 6 editor Prefs.psp (or worded similar) will show up in the list. Right click the name and select copy. Right click on your desktop and select Paste from the menu. Once this is done, you should now have a copy of your current editor preferences that you can move wherever you want to save them. You can do the same with the organizer preference file.
If on XP, you'll have to navigate to the file. As with Vista and XP, you'll have to show hidden files and folders first.
How to show hidden files and folders on XP:
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows/display-hidden-folders-in-xp/
I believe, the file path you need to navigate to get to your preferences will be:
    C:\Documents and Settings\[your user name]\Application Data\Adobe\Photoshop Elements.
Note: I would recommend when finished coping your preference files going back and toggling off "show" hidden files and folders.
On Mac, I believe you would find them using the path Barbara gives in post #1 of this thread:

  • Migrating User Settings from one local user to another

I have an iMac running 10.5.4 with some issues (Parallels hanging at random moments). One of the tests I did to troubleshoot it was create a new user profile, and run the same (shared) Parallels machine as that new user, which seemed to fix the problem.
I would like to being gradually copying over user preferences & data from the old account to the new one, bit by bit, so that if one of those items is causing the problem with Parallels, we can catch it.
Is there a preferred way to copy or move over user settings from one local account to another on the same Mac? Basic files like Documents, etc. I know I can just drop into the Shared folder, but I am more concerned with Preferences, apps that use databases to point to files (like iTunes), and permissions.
    Thank you!

V.K. (and anyone else who cares) - I finally figured out the problem: the mount point for the volume containing my Home directory ("Data") was changed by the system, but only on my primary startup volume ("System")... so when I booted from SystemClone everything was okay... but when I booted from System I had no account, no preferences, no nothing. Because the visible label on the volume containing Home was correct (even though the actual name - the mount point - was different), regardless of whether I booted from System or SystemClone, I assumed everything here was in order.
Bottom line: when booting from System, my Data volume's visible label read "Data" .. the path to Home directory under the account's advanced settings read "/volumes/data/directoryName" ... but my Data volume's mount point read "Data 1" .. when booting from SystemClone, my Data volume's visible label read "Data" .. the path to Home directory under the account's advanced settings read "/volumes/data/directoryName" ... and my Data volume's mount point read "Data" (so everything worked).
Lesson learned: don't assume.. check the mount point reference using Disk Utility.
Approach validated: if I didn't have a bootable SystemClone, I would have never been able to figure this out, and repair everything without rebuilding.

  • Getting User Settings from One MBP to another MBP

Scenario:  I've got two 2011 MBP 13" 2.7ghz 500GB Hybrid SSD 8GB RAM laptops.  On one of them, the hard drive became unrepairable, so in order to fix, I transferred all of my data via thunderbolt from the unrepairable hard drive to the other MBP's hard drive.  I then erased and restored the hard drive of the machine not working and reinstalled Lion.  All good.  I then transferred all of my data back.  Question, how do I get my user settings back if I skipped the set up assistant the first time around?  Migration assistant?  I put the MBP holding my old data in target disk mode but I only am able to migrate the settings of the previously working MBP.  Does this make sense?  Thank you.

If I'm getting this right (and that's not certain) when you first
transferred all of my data via thunderbolt from the unrepairable hard drive to the other MBP's hard drive.
How did you do this and what did you copy and where (to another folder?) on the working MBP?

  • Prevent Copy From for UDF

    Hi,
We are developing an add-on on SAP Business One 2005 SP1.
We have a UDF on the Marketing document header.
This UDF is populated while creating a Sales Order.
However while creating a Delivery or an A/R Invoice based on the sales order using the Copy From or Copy To function also copies the values in the UDF.
Is there a way to prevent this.
Is there a way to clear this UDF after the Copy From or Copy To Event.
    Regards,
    Pankaj Mathur

    Hi Pankaj,
There is no way to prevent copying the values.
You could user the formData Event for clear the UDF fields after creation of the new document.

  • User settings migrated from Office 2007 to 2013 using OCT

Does anyone know what user settings are retained after upgrading Office 2007 to 2013 using the OCT? I have set the checkbox to migrate user settings in the OCT but all of the user's pinned documents are not longer there after the upgrade. Is this normal?

Microsoft doesn't support migrating directly from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013, likely part of your decision to use a third party tool.
I'm not familiar with these error messages, I suspect they're from DocAve and not SharePoint.
My suggestion is to contact AvePoint support.

  • Proxy settings moved from User to Machine not removing user settings.

    Hi All,
I have recently moved our company's proxy settings from User based to Machine based as we were having issues after moving from an internal proxy to a hosted external proxy.  What we found was after turning off the internal some users were no longer
    getting external internet.
After some investigation we found they were still getting old proxy settings on login and after a GPupdate.exe or normal gpupdate from the server the correct settings would apply. (happened to users logging on for the 1st time) To prevent this from happening
I moved the proxy settings to the Computer GPO and it all appeared to work in the test GPO and in live.  But a few days later we got some calls logged to our help desk stating they don't get external internet.  After some more
investigation we found that they are still getting the user policy applied to them even though it has all been removed from the User GPO.
I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.  What can be causing this?  Some of these users have local admin rights and I thought at first it might be something they
did but now we are getting non admin users with these issues.
We are using IE 10 and have set the original Proxy settings using the GUI internet control panel and are now applying the proxy settings via Registry updates in the Computer GPO and enabled "Make Proxy settings per-machine" object.  Our SOE
is Win 7 ent x64 with IE 10 (1500 units) and Win 8.1 ent x64 IE11 (100 units) And some XP SP3 that are in the process of migrating to Win7.
Any help on this would be much appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Nat

    Hi Nat,
you wrote: I found if I remove the proxy settings it doesn't always apply to users but if I add info in it always updates to the user.
Does that also happen für new users now after you changed your settings to the computer settings?
I guess you used group policy preferences; that worked as "one time settings", so as long as the policy exists it will be merged with the Settings on the users computer. Please find a detailed description on
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dn581922.aspx
So you now have 2 configuration items: your policy as well as the users registry. So to remove that you already moved the Settings from the user configuration to your Computers configuration (that worked as you described) while the Settings
in their HKCU are still there - you Need to either implement another  policy to remove that, or you can set it empty.
Don't set it to "not configured" as that will keep your old setting deployed before.
Sometimes I found in more easy to implement another user preference that removed the Registry key with the Registry keys to remove a Setting instead of Publishing a "remove Setting" configuration.

    Martin
