UDID deprecated, what to do now?

In our application we are planning to use UDID to manage data subscription per device. I got to know that UDID is deprecated by Apple. Now my question is can we still use UDID or will Apple reject the app if we still use UDID in our application? If Apple doesn't want us to use UDID then what is the alternative for it, Apple suggests to use "identifierForVendor" instead of UDID. But downside of "IdentifierForVendor" is that it is not guaranteed to be same if all applications from the vendor is uninstalled from device and then application is installed on the device. Also "identifierForVendor" is available from iOS6.0, what can we use before iOS6.0?
Apple please suggest us what should we use to manage data subscription?

[CS4] IDataLink deprecated... but now ?

I have a CS3 document containing a link in one text box. This link point to an inexistent file, i.e. "234.incd", and now it is no needed. Well, when I open this document with CS4 I cannot "unlock" the box, I mean, cannot write in the text box because Indesign CS4 gives me an alert like this "Cannot extract this file. May be in use by another user" (sorry but the alert is in Spanish, i don't have the exactly english translation).
Ok... don't worry, I only need to delete this link before start to work with my plugin.
IDatalink and friends has been deprecated ( ... ) now I cannot find the way to delete an old and obsolete link in a box. Simply delete, nor convert nor reuse it, only delete it. Even Indesign crashes when I try to delete it manually from the Links palette.
Has anybody any idea : how to delete the link in a box of a CS3 document from a CS4 plugin?

Thank you Jon, that fixed it perfectly. You have saved me from going crazy. The only difference I see now is in "Server Name" it changed what I had entered (my ftp address) to "Remote Server"; which seems odd -- but it works! Although I know there maybe also some other dialog box I have never seen
Of course I saw that menu item "Import" and but I thought thats obviously not for me: "Why would I want to import an entire website?". I did not however see "Export the selected site" for thats only a tiny icon in the footer. However I would have thought the same: "Why would I want to export my entire website?".
An observation: I've seen this problem in a lot of Adobe software, the menu-names of items are obscure, non descriptive. What would be better would be for the menu names or popups to say "Export Site Setup settings" and "Import Site Setup settings"

There is no way around the activation lock. You apparently decided to use the phone with someone else's ID set up for an iCloud (and find my iPhone) account before updating. Since Find My iPhone was active, updating to iOS 7 has automatically turned on the activation lock. If you do not have the Apple ID and password that were previously used, then the phone is now useless. You can't activate it without that informaion.
Talk to whoever you bought the phone from if you can. If you can't, buy a new phone.

And you set up your own new ID and account but can NOT access the updates, from the App store for the many apps that you already have, because they require that you sign in with that former now inaccessible ID and account and password? Call it a problem of modern times and changing relationships, if you want to be charitable.

So I guess it will only be new apps that I download that are allowed to give me their updates while 13 updates wait for me on an ID I can no longer access.

Looks like you restored your backup file to her phone. If you didn't back up your wife's phone first, then the data is gone, sorry.

I have no clue what you mean by "all the different methods." Here are my suggestions.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

With Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to 'Lock Rotation' have you then moved the switch on the right-hand side of the iPad above the volume control 'off' ?
Or with the switch set to control 'notification mute' you should be able to unlock rotation via the far left of the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. You can reset a Password (lost/forgotten) set on your Mac using 'Reset Password Utility' available with OS X Utilities tool. With OS X Mountain Lion, OS X Utilities tool can be generally found on a local hidden Recovery HD Partition if your Mac has one.
To check If your Mac has got a local hidden Recovery HD Partition, start your Mac holding COMMAND + R buttons. If you hold the keys pressed enough and there is a local Recovery HD Partition on your Mac, you will be presented with OS X Utilities window.
Click the 'Tool' menu item and choose 'Reset password'. Terminal window appears. Type 'resetpassword' into it and press 'Enter'. Reset Password window appears with User Account Names available on your Start-up Volume. Select the User Account Name and rest is simple to follow.
One of the advantages of this method is that it does not require any Authorization method such as administrative authentication to reset a password.
NOTE: If your Mac does not have a local hidden Recovery Partition on its system disk, you can create one using Disk Assistant application available from Apple. Search for the Disk Assistant in the support area.

It's not uncommon for it to not work the first time and sometimes, you have to try it a few times. Turn off your antivirus software and your firewall while you are trying to restore the iPad. Enable them again after you restore.
If that still won't work, post back with detailed information as to what exactly does happen as you go through the process.

What is 'DATA_PACKAGE' now called in Transformation Routine?

I am trying to code a start routine in a transformation for a data target. When I did a syntax check on my ABAP codes, I get a syntax error on 'DATA_PACKAGE'. Does anyone know what it is now called in BW 7 ?

You can find this in the interface definition of your start routine (the many lines that are grey):

          monitor                  type rstr_ty_t_monitors
        CHANGING
          <b>SOURCE_PACKAGE              type tyt_SC_1</b>

By the way, in an end routine, it is RESULT_PACKAGE. Again, check the interface.

Try:
Close iTunes, click the Start button > All Programs > iTunes folder > RIGHT CLICK iTunes Program icon > Select> Run as Administrator.
