UE-V holding up logoff

Hi all,
I am working with a customer implementing UE-V 2.1 to replace their existing roaming profile solution.
During our testing, we have found that on occasion, when a user logs out, a message is displayed stating (waiting for sync controller).  After about 5 mins, the user is logged
out.  This seems to be happening about 30% of the time. The end result is that the settings are not sync’ed. Also in the event logs, there is an Event ID 13008 “error 3 was returned while initialising sync provider for template DesktopSettings".
Sometimes this event appears for every UE-V template, looking
through the event logs of my lab VM's I can also see this event.
The UE-V agent is 2.1 and is using the sync provider.
Has anyone else seen these issues before?
Regards,
Leigh.

Not to that extreme, no.
I'd probably try the process of elimination. Reduce the number of settings being captured on log off.
Is it only happening for certain users? If so, try clearing out their cached files

  • System- logoff with holding the modi?

    Hi,
i work in SAP with 5 modi (=sessions). Now i logof with system->logoff. Next day i logon and
i would like to start with the 5 modi (=sessions) which i had before logoff.
Is there any way to handle this?
    thanks.
    regards, Dieter

I'm curious if anyone from SAP replies, but I don't think it's possible. Logon works like sort of a gateway to the sessions. First you log on, then you can have multiple sessions. If you log off, all the sessions collapse because the "gateway" has to close. The sessions cease to exist after that.
It may be technically feasible to restore the windows that you had open before logoff, but I've never heard anyone asking for the same thing and doubt this feature would be popular. Also, if this was available, it would most likely just open a window with the first screen of the transaction, without any data. And it's not very difficult to start a transaction in SAP, so it wouldn't be very helpful IMHO.

  • Server 2012 RDS - User Profile Disks - Errors during Logoff

I have set up a test Server 2012 RDS collection (Single Server for now) and implemented User Profile disks.
    I have two problems.
First: My generic test user can connect and does successfully use the user profile disk as expected. However, at
logoff, the system event log contains these errors:
The error (NTFS 137) is: The default transaction resource manager on volume C:\Users\ts3.test encountered a non-retryable error and could not start.  The data contains the error code.
The warning (NTFS 50) that concerns me is:
It appears that the user profile disk is being "disabled" or "disconnected"
before the profile data is completely written at logoff. What can I do to troubleshoot this?
    Second:
Update: A post from Mike Connor on the following page: -LINK- solved
    the problem described below.
My administrative user always logs on now with a temporary profile. At the beginning, the UPD was working and mounting. That stopped working. In attempting to troubleshoot, I logged the admin user off and deleted the UPD disk
file from the share. I remember it working again after generating a new UPD disk file in the share. Soon, it quit working again. I deleted the UPD disk file again from the share and ever since, it has never regenerated a new UPD and
always logs on with a temporary profile.

We experience less to zero problems after an outage with our User Profile Disks when we use the option: "Store all user settings and data on the user profile disk". Other then when we use the other checkbox (even though all checkboxes
    underneath are checked).
Our test setup was, an RDSH 2012 r2 server(s), with an 2012r2 server holding the share.
We first tried the "store all user settings" for the User Profile Disk, we logged several accounts onto our RDSH Server we then disconnected our server which holds the share to simulate an outage. After about 5 minutes we connected the
server again holding the share. When the share comes back online, we logged off the users and logged them back in. The result was a valid profile for all the accounts including their last changes from before the share got disconnected.
The exact same test was done with the option: "Store only the following folders on the user profile disk" with all checkboxes underneath checked, which gave us corrupt profiles.. We also did these tests by giving the server holding the share a reboot instead
of an disconnect from network. This gave us the same result. Each test was done at least 2 to 3 times..
I hope others can confirm this as well in their situation, as it seems to be a bug within that specific checkbox.
Looking at the above tests, the best way in my test cases were to exclude the default folders (f.e.: \Documents) if you would like to redirect them instead of using them inside your User Profile Disk. Redirects can be done through GPO Folder redirection
options or GPO registry combined with Environment Variables.
Even after several attemps to simulate an outage, i get left with consistent profiles. I've now also included an hard reset of my virtual machine (that gave the same results as a disconnect of the network card). This was all done through using the: "Store
all user settings in the user profile disk". The other option left us with inconsistent profiles. I hope others can confirm this as well..
Looks to me that the type of connection towards the User profile happens different. You can see this when looking at the C:\users\<username> and subfolders if you use user profile disks. The 2 options show different symbols as well.

  • Stop USB Drive unmounting at User Logoff

When my users logoff, the external USB drive is unmounted. The external drive is used to hold the users home directory. I have placed an entry in fstab as:
    +*/dev/disk1s6 /Mount/LaCie hfs noowners 0 2*+
The mount works with +*mount -a*+
I got the system to stop from unmounting the drive at login with the command
    +*defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool YES*+
which I found in another post.
At this point I have to issue a mount after as user logs off, which is pretty rare at my house, fortunately.
How can I change my systems behavior to leave the /Mount/LaCie drive mounted when the users log on or off?

    Teresa Meerschaert wrote:
    +*defaults write /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/autodiskmount AutomountDisksWithoutUserLogin -bool YES*+
That command should keep disks mounted no matter who logs in or out. Isn't it working for you? Did you reboot after entering the command?

  • How to Write a trigger to hold session data

    Hi Everyone,
There are 4 Weblogic Servers which are connected to the database concurrently. In the database I have Application Users table "USERS". When a user is logged to the application let us say userA(from "USERS" table) is logged into the application, whenever that same userA logged into the application from other Weblogic server(other system) it should not allow to login into the application. Is it possible to write a trigger for this. If possible, Can any body suggest how to write a trigger to hold that UserA data into one temporary table as long as that userA is active and removes the data from temporary table when userA logged off (OR) as well as that Weblogic server is goes down.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Justin,
First Thank you very much to all of you.
    1. Yes Application Users are authenticated only once,
that to at the time of login to the Application.
    2. We are not running any script that informing the
    message like "connections
from the downed server should be reset". Do you
    you think is it suggestable.
It's not mandatory to use triggers only. Can we
achieve this by maintaining any temporary table.
I have one idea is that, Lets create a table name
    e "App_Users_Session_Data(User_Id,Is_Active)"
If "User A" logins into the application then User_Id
    = 1A and Is_Active = 'T' will be entered
    automatically into the table
    "App_Users_Session_Data". When same "UserA" logins
from other Weblogic Server then Application first
check this table and informing that "UserA" already
    logins and is active.
Whenever "UserA" loggsoff then this entry will be
    automatically deleted.
My doubt is "UserA" logins successfully into the
application and corresponding user entry is there in
    "App_Users_Session_Data". If Weblogic Server goes
down from where this UserA logins, This entry will
not be deleted. If this entry is still there then the
same UserA should not login into the application from
the same Weblogic server(which is up again). My doubt
is how to remove this entry automatically when
Weblogic server goes down. Can we achieve this by any
other way. If possible can u give some guidelines
    thats enough for me.
    Thank you everyone
    SankarHi,
First off all and as I undeerstood you can change your application.
1- A table say weblogic_servers have to be created:
Several scenarios are possibles. If you want you can have a row per weblogic server in this table with what you want as identifier. Any way this table can have a column (sid for example) which identifies the weblogic database session. This can be managed by logon and logoff triggers for the related database user. The logoff trigger for example deletes all lines in App_users_Sessions_Data (see below) related to the same session as the weblogic server and puts the session sid in weblogic_servers to NULL.
    2- Change the table App_Users_Session_Data:
You have to add a column (sid for example) linking the app user to the database session of the weblogic server. When a user connects, you can check if the databse session is always there and decide accordingly.
A good idea in my opinion is to centralize your logic by putting it in an INSERT trigger on App_Users_Session_Data.

  • Unrequested automated logoff "You haven't been logged out because..."

I keep getting this message, mostly after waking from sleep mode. The message is always accompanied with one of my programs such as Excel or Word.
I do not have an auto-logoff set and do not want to be auto-logged out..
How do I set my Macbook so that it DOES NOT try to log out.  I just want it to sleep and lock the password, NOT LOGOUT.
This problem is happening almost daily.
Is anyone else having a similar problem?
    Thanks

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a test, not a solution. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
    Step 1
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is localized to your user account.
Enable guest logins* and log in as Guest. Don't use the Safari-only “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac.”
While logged in as Guest, you won’t have access to any of your documents or settings. Applications will behave as if you were running them for the first time. Don’t be alarmed by this behavior; it’s normal. If you need any passwords or other personal data in order to complete the test, memorize, print, or write them down before you begin.
Test while logged in as Guest. Same problem?
After testing, log out of the guest account and, in your own account, disable it if you wish. Any files you created in the guest account will be deleted automatically when you log out of it.
*Note: If you’ve activated “Find My Mac” or FileVault, then you can’t enable the Guest account. The “Guest User” login created by “Find My Mac” is not the same. Create a new account in which to test, and delete it, including its home folder, after testing.
    Step 2
The purpose of this step is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party system modifications that load automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, by a font conflict, or by corruption of the file system or of certain system caches.
Please take this step regardless of the results of Step 1.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards, if applicable. Start up in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. You must hold down the shift key twice: once when you turn on the computer, and again when you log in.
Note: If FileVault is enabled, or if a firmware password is set, or if the startup volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to start up and run than normal, with limited graphics performance, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain models. The next normal startup may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin.
Test while in safe mode. Same problem?
After testing, restart as usual (not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of Steps 1 and 2.

  • Partner application logoff not working

We have a partner application registered with sso with custom login screen. The login works fine. We use the following code to logoff the partner application in logoff.jsp
    response.setHeader("Osso-Return-Url", "http://my.oracle.com" );
    response.sendError(470, "Oracle SSO");
    session.invalidate();
but the logoff is not working properly. It is not invalidating the session and the logout http request is not going from the application server to the sso server.
Are there any additional configurations for SSO logoff.Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hi
The WF should also trigger if i add the Partner function in UI.If i change any Attribute the WF triggers but i dont want to change the attribute when i add the partner function.
If i have only one event for WF that is Partner Change the WF will not trigger it for the 1st time when i save the UI. But next i come to the same saved doc and add a partner function then the Wf triggers.
So this means that Partner change is active.
the issue here is i need to trigger the WF on , the 1st time i save the UI, for which i wil be using Attribute Change and next time when i come back to saved doc the and add only the partner function and no changes are made to attributes the WF should again trigger.
    Thanks

  • Problem push and hold on a Surface Pro tablet's touch screen

    Hi,
I tried posting this before, but I can't find my origional post so I hope I'm not spamming accidentally.
I have a problem with my program on a Windows 8.1 Surface Pro tablet. I programmed a button to be 'push-and-hold', but when I touch the tablet nothing happens until I release my finger. This briefly controls the button. When I connect a USB mouse to the tablet, it responds normally; when I press the left mouse button: the button in my program goes down until I release the mouse button. I tried about every setting in the Touch section of the Windows control panel without any succes.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • How much RAM can my Macbook Pro hold MAX?

Can my Macbook Pro hold a MAX of 8GB or is it just 4GB? I'm getting different answers online and I'm a little annoyed at this point. My computer specs currently are:
    15 inch Laptop
MacBook Pro 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
    2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM.
    Got my computer in 2009.
At Crucial.com it says it can hold up to 8GB when I select my computer processor speed from their list, but I noticed it saying DDR3 (and I don't know what that means to be honest). Here's the link:
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=7F3A5584A5CA7304
To the best of my knowledge I selected the correct computer, which I own, from their list.
Under "About This Mac", on my computer, it says DDR2 for the memory, on Crucial.com it says DDR3. As a result I'm confused and will that cause problems?
I'll be getting my RAM kit from Crucial.com, so do I buy the 4BG kit, because that's all my laptop can handle, or is it OK to get the 8GB kit, which says DDR3?
I do a lot of video and audio, so I would like to get my RAM up to 8 GB if it will.
    Thanks

One more question friend....You've been so helpful
Will these two sticks work together on my machine?
    2GB, 200-pin SODIMM, DDR2 PC2-5300 memory module
    http://www.crucial.com/store/mpartspecs.aspx?mtbpoid=B54C51B4A5CA7304
    along with a...
    4GB 200-pin SODIMM DDR2 PC2-6400 Memory Module
    http://www.amazon.com/Crucial-CT51264AC800-200-pin-SODIMM-PC2-6400/dp/B001RB21JE
So these two would add up to 6GB total. Now the ONLY DIFFERENCE that I see is the 2GB stick is PC2-5300(667Mhz)speed and the 4GB stick is PC2-6400(800Mhz)speed. I understand that my machine won't run at the 800Mhz speed that the PC2-6400 stick is designed for, cause my machine says 667 under the memory info. From what I read online, it's ok to put a higher Mhz stick in there, it will just cap at 667Mhz speed? But.......both sticks are DDR2, which is right for my computer, but will the 667 MHz with a 800 Mhz be a huge no-no to run together? At this point I think that is my main concern! If I can't do this, than I think I'll have to go with the 2x2GB kit for 4GB total, but I REALLY would like to run 6GB.
    Shew.... :P
    Thanks again!

  • How can multiple threads hold the same lock?

I was always under the impression that no 2 threads could hold a lock for the same object, and yet the HotSpot traces say this is happening all the time.

Have I miss-interpreted the HotSpot stack trace?

To summarise they are both in a synchronized block on the same mutex/Object, but one is in a wait and one isn't.
So then it follows that if the HotSpot thread reads " - waiting on <address>" like:
    "SomeThread" daemon prio=6 tid=0x29a06658 nid=0xf28 in Object.wait() [0x2b18f000..0x2b18fa1c]

    - locked <0x09539510> (a javax.swing.TimerQueue)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:595)
then it means that the thread is trying to enter the synchronized block on the same mutex/Object but it can't because there is another thread in there which is running, so it is waiting on the outside of the lock instead of the inside of the lock like "ClientMessageReceptor840".
Ok, I think I get it now. Thanks everyone for your help.

  • Email pdf to iPad - is there a way to open multiple pdfs at one time without having to hold each individually and open with adobe reader?

I have a large number of pdf files to send to an iPad and it is taking forever to hold down each one and then choose to open with adobe reader.  Just wondering if there is a way to select all from the email to do the same action?

Not that i know of but an alternate would be to use something like dropbox instead of mail. Their app works very well.

  • I can't order more than one picture at a time in iphoto.  I am holding the command key down and highlighting two but only the last one is showing up

    Hi,
I need help placing an iphoto order online for prints.  I have a few pictures I want in a few sizes and it seems to only allow me to select one at a time.  I have held the command key down but it defaults to the last picture i selected.  I appreciate your help.

What system and iPhoto versions are you using?  As a quick test try this:  launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and create a new, test library.  Import some photos and check to see if the same problem persists.  See if you can get all of the selected photos in the order window as it should be.
If you can't then try this:  make a temporary, backup copy (if you don't already have a backup copy) of the library and try the following:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
         User/Home()/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete iPhoto's cache file, Cache.db, that is located in your
         User/Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iPhoto folder.
3 - launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: If you're moved your library from its default location in your Home/Pictures folder you will have to point iPhoto to its new location when you next open iPhoto by holding down the Option key when launching iPhoto.  You'll also have to reset the iPhoto's various preferences.

  • My iPhone 4S can no longer hold a charge, had battery replaced once before and is only 2 years old

I've had my iPhone 4S for two years and I still have one more year in my contract.
The first month I had my phone I had similar battery issues where the phone was able to hold a charge over 3 hours. I never have wifi or Bluetooth on, I do not even have internet connection for Safari on. I tested charging it up to %100 and not touch it and after 2 hours it dies.
I would love to get a new iPhone 5c but then I would need to pay off the rest my contract and purchase the new phone and get a new contract. I do not have a warranty for my phone so would taking it to the Apple store and having them replace my battery be worth it? And would I have to pay for them to fix the battery again? Would they give me a replacement phone as well?

Who replaced the battery the first time? If it was anyone other than Apple, your phone is unsupportable. Apple won't touch it either in or out of warranty.

I have itunes directory on an external hard drive and want to direct a new installation of itunes on windows 8 to use it. I tried holding down ctrl and clicking itunes and after many tries got it to work one time. When I went back in later it had reverted back to a blank version of itunes and I cant get ctrl to work again. Any other ideas?

This is sometimes caused by a problem with the iTunesPrefs.xml file, normally found at C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes\iTunesPrefs.xml. Try dragging this to the desktop and trying again.
Alternatively the problem may be that you have McAfee AV and it is preventing iTunes from updating the same file and thus causing the problem. See Why does iTunes delete my itunesprefs.xml? for details.

  • Can I config timesten not to hold all data in memory?

In our production environment we use a server with 32GB memory to run Timesten, but developer machine only have 2GB memory. Now we are going to fix some issue that require duplicate the production data to Developer machine, can we have config timesten not to hold all data in memory so that it is possible to duplicate the production data to Developer machine? Is timesten support something like cache table as hsql?
    http://hsqldb.sourceforge.net/web/hsqlFAQ.html#BIGRESULTS

TimesTen is an in-memory database. All the data that is managed directly by TimesTen must be 'in memory' and the machine hosting the datastore must have enough physical memory or system performance will be severely degraded.
The only way to have a combined in-memory and on-disk solution is to introduce a backend Oracle database (10g or 11g) and use TimesTen cache connect. Of course, this then becomes a very different configuration and depending on what 'issue' it is that you need to investigate and fix the change to a Cache Connect configuration may hinder that investigation.
