UEFI Bios - MSI Radeon HD 7850 2GB GDDR5 OC Edition

Hi there,
to be able to use Safeboot in Windows 8 I need a working UEFI-Bios for my Radeon. Details following:
S/N: 602 - V273 - 150C1305020983
Bios: www34.zippyshare.com/v/77222628/file.html
Thanks in advance!

Hey there!
Since the update I'm getting "blue screen"-like errors (video-card related). Monitor is freezing, video-card-fans are boosting to max, pc hangs - only way is a reboot.
This happened for the first time directly after the flash and after from now and then.
Also, since the update, my video-card fan-control is weird. Some time it boosts up (maybe to 100%?) for about 2 seconds and then slows down again. Didn't happen before, too.
Please reply for some technical help, sucks over here!
Thanks, Tobias

  • Aperture with iMac i7 3.4 AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5

I am looking to upgrade to the new iMac i7 3.4 (spring 2011).
Currently I am running Aperture 3 via a MacBook Pro 2.66 (NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 Ram) along with 8GB DDR3 Ram.
Just wondering if anyone has purchased the new 27" iMac i7 3.4 with AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5 and 16GB DDR3 of Ram?
If so do you see the performance of Aperture 3 running better?
I know that Aperture runs better with more GPU, so I would assume the performance would be better?
    Thanks,
    Stu

That box will rock Aperture if you order it with an SSD. IMO using hard drives for boot drives is obsolete.
In my case Aperture (3.1.2) on the 2011 17" MBP (OS 10.6.7, 8 GB RAM, HD 6750M; a weaker box than the iMac you suggest) with Apple's SSD imports 3 GB of RAW+JPEG images in much less than a minute and has those images fully processed in about 5 minutes. IMO hella fast. And edits (with both the Aperture Library and referenced Masters on the SSD) are essentially instant.
Only problems with the better Thunderbolt iMacs are:
    • Glossy-only display that not everyone can tolerate.
    • Hard drives are only upgradable by Apple, a sucky new trick in Apple's bag.
But as far as Aperture performance goes all the top end Thunderbolt boxes will be spectacular. I cannot say enough good things about Aperture performance on SSD setups; IMO no Aperture user should buy a box without SSD.

I am struggling a bit here with the rar file,it opens as a 371 file? I have renamed it as mod.rom
I have tried running NVflash with the cmd c:\nvflash.exe -4 -5 -6 mod.rom and keep getting I/O ERROR: Cannot open file: mod.rom
feeling like I am missing out something
    thanks for any advice
    Craig
looks like the file is not proper renamed,
check in your windows explorer, options, and uncheckmark "hide extension" for known types
then check again the file name
or other reason that the vbios file is not in the same directory where the flasher is located

  • Requesting UEFI GOP VBIOS for MSI Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr III 2GB GDDR5 OC

I've got two of these cards.
    Serial Numbers:
    602-V273-050B1212086274
    602-V273-050B1212085579
Also, what is the easiest way to flash my cards?  It looks like atiflash can only be used from a DOS boot disk, and I don't know where I can get DOS boot files.  Is there an easier way to do it?  Perhaps from within Windows?  I flashed my nvidia card from within Windows without any trouble.
    Thanks much!

  • UEFI GOP Booting Problem - MSI Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr

I have two 7850s in Crossfire.  I flashed both my cards' VBIOS using atiflash and the VBIOS I obtained here, and it worked, but after I disabled CSM, I got a blank black screen.  Power cycling my PSU fixed the problem.  I can reboot just fine, and my cards work in games and whatnot, so I don't think my VBIOS is corrupt, but if I turn off my machine and leave it off for a while, I need to power cycle my PSU before turning it back on, or I get the blank black screen again.  This is with CSM disabled.  If I re-enable CSM, I have no issues whatsoever.
Could this be an issue because I have two card in crossfire?  Or is there a new version my VBIOS available?
    Any help is appreciated.
Edited to add: This is the thread where I asked for a UEFI GOP VBIOS, for reference:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=168533.msg1232982#msg1232982

UEFI GOP booting (with CSM disabled) works with only one video card installed.  Either card works alone, but when I install both, I need to enable CSM to be able to boot reliably.
This must be a limitation of my motherboard.  Both video cards work fine otherwise, even in Crossfire.

  • [Request] UEFI Bios for Radeon HD7850 Twin Frozr 2GD5/OC

Hello folks, new member here. I'd like to open by thanking this community for the great level of education and support provided here. I have always been an EVGA guy, and I have been quite impressed with my MSI experience so far and this forum just validates that experience...It's going to be a tough choice where my dollars go moving forward and that's saying a lot about how good MSI has been!!
Onward and upward, I need a UEFI/SECUREBOOT/GOP/VBIOS for my card.
    S/N: 602-V273-050B1301146609
Also, once I receive this bios, can someone please clarify the proper procedure for flashing it to the card, I have searched and I have seen a few different methods referenced, I just wanted to know what the officially accepted way of doing it is.  I assume it's good practice to backup the current vbios that is on the card just in case as well and if there is a procedure for that as well.
Finally being new to all this UEFI stuff, after flashing the card, if I decide to pull it and place it in a non UEFI system, will I have to flash back to the old BIOS or will it be backwards compatible with non-uefi systems?
I'm new to the whole UEFI environment and am still figuring this all out, thanks for the patience and help.
    Nate

  • Requesting stock (i.e. non-UEFI) VBIOS for Radeon HD 7850 Twin Frozr OC

I have two of these cards, with the following serial numbers:
    602-V273-050B1212086274
    602-V273-050B1212085579
I flashed them with a UEFI GOP VBIOS, which does work for Windows 8 UEFI booting without CSM enabled, but only with one card installed; with two cards installed and no CSM, I get a black screen upon powering on the machine; no POST.  Also, I subsequently bought a retail copy of Windows 7, which will boot in UEFI mode, but only while CSM is enabled for my video cards; it crashes upon boot if full-fledged UEFI booting is enabled without CSM.
When the video cards didn't have UEFI GOP VBIOSes, trying to boot without CSM enabled caused my motherboard's BIOS to give me a handy error message and an opportunity to change BIOS settings, but while the cards have UEFI GOP VBIOSes, I get a black screen repeatedly, which requires me to open my case and either remove one video card or use the hardware jumper switch to clear CMOS completely.  I do not like opening my case.
Thus, I'd feel safer if my video cards had VBIOSes that resembled the VBIOS they both came with; stable and non-UEFI GOP.  I have searched and searched for such a thing, and I cannot find it.  I have been known to miss things, but I thought I would ask here, because I'm browsing in circles at this point.
    Any help is much appreciated!

Awesome, thanks much!  Extra thanks for the quick reply!
    Cheers!

  • MSI HD 7850 1GB GDDR5 OC edition Fan speed problem

    Hello all.
I have some strange issue with my graphic card and fan i think. I have noticed that, when my monitor goes to sleep (or when I manually turn off), after few minutes (7-8-9-10) I can loudly hear GPU fan acceleration. And it happens every few minutes. So, everything is ok few minutes, and after that, again I can hear that annoying sound, the sound of accelerated fan. That happens only, but only when the monitor is switched off (whether it manually or automatically switched off).
I bought this video just 2 months ago, as well as other components of the computer. So, everything is practically new.
I have tested my graphic card with MSI Kombustor v. 2.4, and everything was fine. Temperatures, FPS, and all that stuf was fine.
I've never had a problem in any game so far. Everything working fine on high details all kind of games. Temperatures are pretty
normal. In a fact, I think that is temperature is lower than some average. I have a problem only with horizontal lines, but that is because i have monitor with VGA output. As a mather of fact, barely notice them. And, I have instaled latest 13.4 drivers. I deleted the old version with driver sweeper. And in an earlier version of driver was the same problem...
Again, the problem arises when my monitor is off. I have tested with MSI Afterburner 2.2.5 beta and GPU-Z 0.7.0.
All settings in both of programs are on default. So, that numbers at paragraph RMP, when monitor is off, max is 1563. That is 400 more than when monitor is on.
I have tried to test when is minimum usage of GPU fan is 40% (i just clicked on "user define" button on the right side of "fan speed"), and then, RMP number would be 1700 or even more.
    When monitor is off:
    When monitor is on:
So, everything is perfect when monitor is on, again. I don't think that is normal, and I beg for help. Is there any kind of solution to fix this problem? Please. I am thankful in advance. Sorry for my bad English.
    P.S.
I wanted to upload pictures, but forum does not allow me. Or, I don't know how to do that. I only want to show values...

Usualy, i left Opera, uTorrent, Skype in backround. Then, I shut down the programs, and only programs in background are Avast 8 and Realtek Audio Manager (both are in system tray). No matter if you leave a program in the background or not, it's the same.
I really have never met with this type of problem and I have no idea how to fix that. If I complain to the seller, he would run tests like I did, and everything would be ok. And when  I would told him about the fan problem, probably would have told me that everything is okay...
I don't know what to try, really...
