UEFI test still says "Failed" after repairs.

My PC had been sent in for repairs regarding the optical drive because it failed the "UEFI test" .  The DVD drive works fine now but when I ran the test again, it still says it failed!  I called and spoke to a technical service agent and he said to update my UEFI software maybe it's out of date!  If that's the problem, I have no idea how to get the updated version.  Any suggestions on what is going on with my PC?  Thanks.

    I think you may not using the right technical terms.  When backing up to icloud, there is no way you'd get a message saying things will be wiped.  This message may be displayed when you are performing a RESTORE from a backup and then trying to cancel it.
    If you are doing a restore, then you can reboot and restore again.

    I recently downloaded and installed OS X Mavericks on my new MacBook Pro without any issue. But in the app store in my purchases, everything says installed but the Mavericks still says download as if I didnt download it. I checked in the Apple menu and it says OS X 10.9, and I got all the apps that came with it so it is installed. I press in download just for curiosity and it started downloading the wholw 5.20 Gb of Mavericks OS, but is like crazy, it says downloading, 200 mb then it goes back to 10 mb then it goes to 300mb and goes back again. In the launchpad there's an invisible icon that says downloading and also goes back and forward again and again...Anyone can tell me whats going on? Help!

    Oh ok, but how do I stop that download? I cannot even pause it. Its like crazy going back and forward. Tried signing out the app store but still there. I've seen other macs of my friends and theirs say installed.

    I upgraded my iMac's Quicktime to PRO but I am still unable to access the PRO functions. I need the PRO functions to convert some mpg files to .avi's, but it won't let me. The registration says I am running pro, but the application still says "player!"

    I think what you are saying is that it cannot open most MPEG files, is that correct? I have a video camera that puts them on my hard drive in MPEG format and I need to convert them to .AVI so I can edit them in FC Express. Do I need a different piece of software other than Quicktime?

  • "Display Driver Has Stopped Responding And Recovered"​. I still have it after repair.

    After some amount of email trouble shooting I sent the PC to bench repair.  It came back with the declaration
    Repaired (the problem was duplicated during full diagnostics). 
    It isn't clear what they did to repair it. One box is checked-

    Update/driver
    Update
    The problem reappeared after a day of operation.  I don't think it is related to any apps on this computer because it occurs most frequently while using Firefox- most of the PC useage and Excel.
    It occured two times as I have been on the HP support forum.
    I have been away from the computer for a few days.  Tomorrow I think I should ask HP for a new computer.
    Actually I am starting to wish  I hadn't bought HP.
    I know at least one or two others who have had a similar problem.  I suspect more people have.  Is this likely a systemic problem with the motherboard or video board this PC uses?  Or a monitor problem?
    As I have said previously the monitor will freeze for a second or two, black out briefly and come back to life with the error message.

  • Meeting response still says none after acceptance

    I have a user that when she accepts meeting invites and chooses "Send Response Now" it still shows up in Tacking as Response None.  I invited other people to the same meeting I received acceptance emails from all including the user with the
    issue.  I go to the meeting on the calendar and under the tracking tab every other user i invited the Response says Accepted.  
    Why is her's the only one that still shows up as None?  
    I did make sure she wasn't choosing "Do not send a response." Also that she is a Required Attendee.  In Outlook options I have checked "Automatically process meeting requests and responses to meeting requests and polls". I;ve tried
    soo amny thing and can't find a reason why her's is the only one showing as None in Response.

    As I know, meeting tracking option is built for MS Outlook not for Exchange server. So, such type of bug is occurring from the specific email client application and probably third party plug-ins can be reason of this.
    Say her to open Outlook in safe mode using “outlook.exe /safe” command and then to respond meeting invitation and see the result.

    Go to Settings>General>Usage. How much space does it show you have?
    If you connect your phone to your computer, what does iTunes say is on your phone? Do you see a large amount of "Other"? If so, you may have a corrupted database. You'll need to sync your phone then restore it as NEW (not from back up) then re-sync your data).

I'm booked in at the Apple Genius Bar in Bordeaux, France on Wed ... quite a challenge as my French isn't great! The current internal disk is 500gb, does anyone know whether I can upgrade my 21.5" iMac (circa Oct-2009 vintage) to a larger size internal disk, 1Tb or even 2Tb? I already have one external 2Tb drive and another one on order (I have masses of media stored and more planned as I've just taken up photography). Seems a bit of a pain managing with only 500gb internal storage. OR, can you advise me on how I can store all my photos on my new 2Tb external drive - I can't seem to figure out how to set the path for iPhoto to see them (I can't even figure out where they are stored right now!). Same with iTunes, how do I set the default storage to the external drive (I moved everything manually and then imported them all from the new drive - it worked but seemed very convoluted).     I would say to start by looking on their web site... unfortunately, that appears to be dead.
    Based on the horrible ratings on the App Store (1 star for the current version), I'm not surprised it doesn't work well.

    Hi Go to settings Email Accounts Delete Email Account then Re add acount back again If you have more than one Email Account do this with each one. Cheers Brian

    I have a group of 6 unit tests failing after upgrading to the new Kodo
    4.0.0 (with BEA) from Kodo-4.0.0-EA4 (with Solarmetric). I'm getting

    interaction with the PostgreSQL driver, though I can't be sure. I
    haven't changed my JDO configuration or the related classes in months
    since I've been focusing on using the objects that have already been

    Thats the first thing I tried last night. And reinstalled just textEdit but no luck, then I deleted TextEdit and reinstalled it again and I was still getting the same message.  Tried pacifist this morning again but this time I tried reinstalling the whole apps package half way through its says it cant reinstall due to multiple missing files.
    Tried the repair option on the OS  disc it says everything is fine
