UFT and Peoplesoft Addin

Hi,
I've started using the Peoplesoft Addin for UFT 12.00 obviously for Peoplesoft testing.
I'm having difficulty with the "Considerations for Working with the PeopleSoft Add-in" on page 261 of the Addin Guide (hp_man_uft12-00_addinsguide_pdf). For example,"When learning PSFrame objects, or Web pages containing PSFrame objects, the following child objects are automatically filtered out and are not added to the object repository:", although I can see this happening in the Object Repository.
I was wondering if there where any Tutorials, Videos or Code Examples of Peoplesoft testing to assist me.
Thanks
John

John,
You may want to try reposting your question on the forums specifically for the UFT product. Here's the link.

  • OWB and PeopleSoft EPM integration

    1) Has anyone used Oracle Warehouse Builder for ETL in conjunction with PeopleSoft EPM (Enterprise Performance Management) Data Warehouse?
    2) Does anyone know the expected strategy of Oracle on how to integrate the PeopleSoft EPM suite into the Oracle BI & OWB Suite?
    3) Is the integration of the BI products expected to be in parallel with or independant from the integration of the Oracle and PeopleSoft Financials?
    4) PeopleSoft EPM having business content and Oracle BI/OWB not, what is the expected 'joint formula' to be able to compete with SAP R/3, BW, SEM, etc.

    We had configured Integration with EBS,
    what required is INFORMATICA and DAC i,e OBIApps Installation

  • Weblogic and PeopleSoft

    Hi
    We are looking to link weblogic and PeopleSoft. I have noticed that
    there is an eLink product for PeopleSoft, but that only talks about
    linking it with Tuxedo.
    Does anyone know how we would go about accessing the data in PeopleSoft
    from within our weblogic application?
    Any Help appreciated.
    Peter

    Peter,
    If what you want is to get at the Peoplesoft services from , say , a java
    client, you could use Weblogic Server to Manage Jolt Session pools that
    allow you to access Peoplesoft Services. Peoplesoft Services are really
    Tuxedo Services. Jolt lets you access these services. Weblogic Server
    managers Jolt connection pools.
    Hope this helps.

  • Upgrade - Installation CRM 7.0 with W2K3 and J2EE AddIn

    Hi all,
    Because of the end of maintance I have to upgrade CRM 4.0 to CRM 7.0.
    During the upgrade phase Iu2019ve detected changes within the CRM System installation and architecture.
    First thing I discover was that itu2019s not possible to install CRM 7.0 with the W2K3 64bit OS.
    You have to install the system with Windows 2008 Standard 64bit Edition.
    All our SAP Systems running with W2K3 64bit OS with very good performance and that is why itu2019s our standard OS.
    The different between W2K3 and W2K8 is enormous. (Everyone who changed from WinXP to Win Vista knows what I mean.)
    Even the change of the SAP Kernel causes yet unknown problems
    But I thought so what, thatu2019s IT and upgraded the ABAP stack to 7.0
    The upgrade was fine and finished.
    After that I would like to install the missing J2EE Components and TREX.
    But the next catch Iu2019ve discovered was that it isnu2019t possible to install the J2EE Engine as an AddIn Installation into the upgraded ABAP Engine.
    Wow, thatu2019s a thing!!!!
    Our company IT strategy is System consolidating and now I should make 9 out-of 3 systems.
    (DEV-QS-PROD Landscape)
    Not to mention the administrative complexityu2026.
    Now Iu2019m searching for solutions to avoiding this problems.
    For the J2EE AddIn installation I want to try a intermediate upgrade to a former CRM Release where a AdIn Inst is possible (e.g. CRM 5.0 or something) and than upgrade to CRM 7.0
    But whatu2019s about the prescribed OS W2K8?
    As far as I know there is no SAPinst for a CRM 7.0 Upgrade/Installation under W2K3.
    Ok, for a company with a huge webshop it makes sense, but our webshop isnu2019t so big that there could be same performance problems.
    As noted before, all our SAP Systems running with a W2K3 64bit OS and we donu2019t have performance problems.
    Does anyone have an idea how I can solve my CRM 7.0 Inst/Upgrade Problems?
    Best regards
    Mario Fischer

    Hi Mario,
    We installed CRM 7.0 a couple of months back with DVD- 51035700 (Master) on a Win 2003 server.
    NW 7.01 (base for CRM 7.0) is supported on Win 2K3...but PAM does mention 2008 exclusively for CRM 7.0
    As far as the Java Add In is concerned, ABAP & JAVA stacks have been seperated in order to simplify things.
    The dual stack was difficult to administer & manage; hence, now you need to install 2 different systems & connect them via JCO.
    We had a 16 GB server for CRM 7.0, which instead of hosting one "ABAP+JAVA" system, now has 2 systems (a seperate ABAP system & a seperate JAVA one)..n so far we havn't faced any issues as such.
    In fact it's a good thing that since the 2 stacks have been seperated, the dependancy factor's been minimized.
    Thanks,
    Have a nice day,
    S

  • CSS Stickyness between different ports and Peoplesoft

    We are attempting to "stick" a user to a specific server. We have three different server that run different services on different ports.
    The peoplesoft server initial will go to 80 and then get redirected to port 7402, then 9002, then 8002.
    Is it possible to have the CSS configured to be able to do the following:
    User hits portal.domain.com (port 80)
    This will direct this to one of three servers and stick them there using sticky-srcip
    Then have the user redirected to port 7402 on the same server that they hit when accessing the content rule for port 80
    After that, it needs to be able to still stay on the same server to port 9002
    Then another call to 8002 again, to the same server.
    Currently I have 4 content rules for each port. However, when calling the alias that points to the VIP (same VIP for all 4 rules, different port for each)
    When I try to use sticky and the server sends a URL back to the client browser, they are returned the same alias:PORT and it then gets rebalanced and stuck to one of the three services. Is it possible for the client to remain stuck to the same server and just use the different port.
    Here are my current content rules:
    content virtual-pshr-eps-ssl
    add service easpw1-eps-ssl
    add service easpw2-eps-ssl
    add service easpw3-eps-ssl
    protocol tcp
    port 9002
    url "/*"
    vip address 192.168.8.27
    advanced-balance sticky-srcip
    application ssl
    active
    content virtual-pshr-epsproxy-http
    add service easpw1-epsproxy-http
    add service easpw2-epsproxy-http
    add service easpw3-epsproxy-http
    protocol tcp
    port 80
    url "/*"
    vip address 192.168.8.27
    advanced-balance sticky-srcip
    active
    content virtual-pshr-epsproxy-ssl
    add service easpw1-epsproxy-ssl
    add service easpw2-epsproxy-ssl
    add service easpw3-epsproxy-ssl
    protocol tcp
    port 7402
    url "/*"
    vip address 192.168.8.27
    advanced-balance sticky-srcip
    application ssl
    active
    content virtual-pshr-hcm-ssl
    add service easpw1-hcm-ssl
    add service easpw2-hcm-ssl
    add service easpw3-hcm-ssl
    protocol tcp
    port 8002
    url "/*"
    vip address 192.168.8.27
    advanced-balance sticky-srcip
    application ssl
    active

    you have two options
    Option 1:
    Instead of using Layer 4 content rules, use a single Layer3 rule with "advanced-balance sticky-srcip".
    Option 2:
    Configure the servers in all content rules in the same order and use "balance srcip".
    if the servers are not steady then with each state change the hash is recalculated which may cause clients to end up at a different server.

    Can you provide more information? For example:
    1. Does one or both apps use SSO?
    2. Does one or both apps use SSL?
    3. Are both apps being called from the same browser session? Remember that just because you may have two browser windows open does NOT mean they are running as separate sessions. If you started the second browser using java script, CTRL+N, or a URL shortcut, then they are likely same session.
    This error suggest that there is a critical tcp/ip failure:
    oracle.forms.net.ConnectionException: 500+
    If the browser to run Forms and PS is the same session, there is likely a session ID conflict. Try opening one browser using the shortcut created for the browser (usually found on the desktop). Do not use a shortcut which contains an embedded URL. Open one of the apps. Then, do the same again to start the second app. If possible, run one app from IE and the other from Firefox (or other browser).

  • Content Service Switch and PeopleSoft

    Can anyone direct me to any white papers discussing in depth setting up sticky rules for 11501?
    I am new to this and need to establish load balancing between PeopleSoft portal servers. While I am getting the basics down, I need to get quickly educated on the process. The basic documentation seems to have left me a little confused. Probably due to my lack of understanding of Web based applications.
    Your assistance is appreciated.

    You probably post your question in a wrong section. You will find a better expertise in load balancing in "Content Networking" under Emerging Technologies.

  • Integrating SOA and Peoplesoft: Configuring JMSTARGET Connector in IB.

    Hi All,
    I have created JMS queue/topic in oracle application server. Can anybody idea how can we configure JMS connector of peoplesoft integration broker.
    Let me first explain my requirement, I am working in peoplesoft outbound interface design with SOA integration.
    So my approach will be creating JMS queue in oracle application Server and then configuring this JMS to any node of peoplesoft IB.
    Then extracted information from peoplesoft need to send to the above node so that once the node receive the message it should
    populate the JMS queue inturn SOA BPEL will be triggered to write into third party file/database.
    Please give your inputs on this approach if you any other suggetion for peoples soft outbound integration with SOA.

    <<Document:664816.1>> E-IB: Configuring Integration Broker with IBM MQ on AIX
    SPECIFIC TO: Enterprise, PeopleTools, Integration Broker Release 8.49
    ISSUE:
    How to setup Integration Broker to PUT messages to an IBM MQ Server on a remote machine?
    SOLUTION:
    <See attachment for documentation with screenshot examples.>
    Configuring Integration Broker with IBM MQ on AIX
    The following guide is intended to outline the setup between Peoplesoft Integration Broker and IBMs Websphere MQ version 6 client on AIX. Note: This is not a certification, but a working example, specifically using the MQ client to connect to a remote machine running the MQ server.
    Platform Information:
    PeopleSoft PeopleTools 8.49
    IBM Websphere MQ Release 6
    AIX
    Steps
    1) Install and IBM Websphere MQ (WMQ) client
    2) Configure WMQ connection
    3) Configure Peoplesoft
    4) TEST using PING and a Peoplesoft message to PUT data onto the WMQ server
    Steps
    1) Install and configure Websphere MQ client on AIX where Peoplesoft is located
    NOTE: This is one optional architecture. It is also possible to install Peoplesoft and MQ on the same server, which avoids the client software altogether.
    a. IBM deliveres an MQ client that is installed on the same box as the Peoplesoft with the following options.
    i. Installed to /usr/mqm, all objects owned by local user mqm
    ii. Ensure that the MQ Extended Transactional Client is installed
    1. This includes com.ibm.mqetclient.jar file
    iii. Mq specific environment variables
    1. $MQ_JAVA_DATA_PATH=/usr/mqm
    2. $MQ_JAVA_INSTALL_PATH=/usr/mqm/java
    3. $MQ_JAVA_LIB_PATH=/usr/mqm/java/lib
    4. jms.jar, fscontext.jar, jndi.jar, providerutil.jar, stcjms.jar
    iv. CLASSPATH
    1. Includes the following MQ jar files
    i. com.ibm.mqetclient.jar
    ii. providerutil.jar
    iii. com.ibm.mqjms.jar
    iv. ldap.jar
    v. jta.jar
    vi. jndi.jar
    vii. jms.jar
    viii. connector.jar
    ix. com.ibm.mq.jar
    2. Example
    a. > echo $CLASSPATH
    i. echo $CLASSPATH /usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mqetclient.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/providerutil.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mqjms.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/ldap.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jta.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jndi.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/jms.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/connector.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/fscontext.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib/com.ibm.mq.jar:/usr/mqm/java/lib:/usr/mqm/java/bin
    3. When setting up Peoplesoft, add these jar files to the classpath setting in the setenv.sh file and reboot PIA
    2) Configure WMQ
    a. Edit JMSAdmin.config (located in /usr/mqm/java/bin)
    ii. Set Initial Context Factory = com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    # The following line specifies which JNDI service provider is in use.
    # It currently indicates an LDAP service provider. If a different
    # service provider is used, this line should be commented out and the
    # appropriate one should be uncommented.

    INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    #INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY=com.ibm.ejs.ns.jndi.CNInitialContextFactory
    iii. Set PROVIDER_URL=file:/usr/mqm/java
    # The following line specifies the URL of the service provider's initial context. It currently refers to an LDAP root context. Examples of a file system URL and WebSphere's JNDI namespace are also shown, commented out.
    #PROVIDER_URL=ldap://polaris/o=ibm,c=us
    PROVIDER_URL=file:/usr/mqm/java
    #PROVIDER_URL=iiop://localhost/
    b. Run JMSAdmin to setup queue and qcf to the MQ server
    i. def qcf(PLAS160_QCF) HOSTNAME(GSPLVP006-VM2) PORT(1414) CHANNEL(SYSTEM.DEF.SVRCONN) QMANAGER(QM_gsplvp006_vm2) TRANSPORT(CLIENT)
    ii. NOTE: When connecting from a client to a remote server, it is important to specify the hostname, port and transport along with the other values.
    iii. def q(PLAS160_Q) queue(PLAS160_Q)
    1. Note: The q is a local naming alias, whereas the queue is the physical queue name on the MQ server
    iv. Screenshot:
    v. This creates a .bindings file
    vi. NOTE: It is also possible to use IVTSetup for this, but JMSAdmin is recommended.
    vii. NOTE: It is possible to gain a .bindings file from your MQ server administrator. Be sure that this format is correct, and the location on the client is referenced correctly.
    viii. JMSAdmin can also be used to determin what connections are available from this machine using command dis ctx as shown
    b. Optional: Test the connection to the MQ server using IBM software.
    NOTE: Testing the ivtQ and ivt QCF can be accomplished using the IVTRun program, provided that the ivtQ and ivtQCF have been setup in the .bindings file with the same available on the MQ server (some mq administrators do not enable this by default)
    i. Example IVTRun, see Appendix 1
    ii. Example .bindings file see Appendix 2
    3) Configure PeopleSoft
    a. Create an external NODE representing the target JMS queue
    i. Example node, see appendix 3
    b. Setup the connectors properties for the new node
    i. Use the connector ID= JMSTARGET
    ii. Example properties screenshot, see Appendix 4
    1. Notes
    a. JMSProvider is MQSeries
    b. JMSFactory, JMSQueue are those specified in the .bindings file representing that on the JMS server. In this case, PLAS160_QCF and PLAS160_Q are used for this example.
    c. JMSUrl is the location of the working .bindings file on the web server (in this case file:/D:/apps/IBM/WebSphereMQ/Java )
    c. Setup Gateway Properties
    i. Access the Gateway Properties using PIA and add the JMS information for MQSeries to the integrationgateway.properties file as shown:
    ## JMS configuration Section
    # <the following line is required>
    ig.jms.JMSProvider.JNDIFactory.MQSeries=com.sun.jndi.fscontext.RefFSContextFactory
    ii. Queue information here is only needed if going to GET message using the JMSListeningConnector. Not needed for the target PUT (or ping)
    iii. Example integrationgateway.properties, See appendix 5
    4) Test PUT connection from Peoplesoft to WMQ
    1. Ping the JMS node from the node definition
    b. Setup routings to PUT messages to the MQ node
    i. Example using USER_PROFILE
    ii. Submit the message and check the Operations Monitor
    iii. Verify that the message made it to MQ (this is viewed by browsing the queue on the Websphere MQ Explorer, message browser. A better utility is rfhutil which is included in the MQ windows client development kit)
    NOTE: This document is intended for 1 way communication TO Mq from Peoplesoft. Setup for GET using the JMSListeningConnector is a separate topic for documentation.

  • JDeveloper and Peoplesoft

    Has anyone used JDeveloper and ADF over the peoplesoft application.
    I understand this is where Oracle wants Peoplesoft customers to go and wanted to know if it is possible to already use the tools now.

    Added "ciProfileTypeShape" get me compiled. Now, I am running into a different issue. When I run it inside JDeveloper, I got "WARNING: Unable to connect to URL: https://hostname/PSIGW/PeopleSoftServiceListeningConnector due to java.security.PrivilegedActionException: oracle.j2ee.ws.saaj.ContentTypeException: Not a valid SOAP Content-Type: text/html"
    I can't see exactly what is returned. Any ideas?
    myPort.setUsername("BG_BURSAR_ACCOUNT_SUMMARY_WS");
    myPort.setPassword("welcome");
    UserIDTypeShape sUserID = new UserIDTypeShape();
    sUserID.set_value("PS");
    Get__CompIntfc__USER_PROFILEResponseTypeShape ciResp;
    Get__CompIntfc__USER_PROFILETypeShape ciProfileTypeShape = new Get__CompIntfc__USER_PROFILETypeShape();
    ciProfileTypeShape.setUserID(sUserID);
    ciResp = myPort.CI_USER_PROFILE_G(ciProfileTypeShape);
    UserDescriptionTypeShape sUserDescription = new UserDescriptionTypeShape();
    sUserDescription = ciResp.getUserDescription();
    System.out.println("Operator Description: " + sUserDescription.get_value());
    System.out.println("Finished");
