UFT (QTP 11.5) does not record Chrome

I have recently installed UFT (QTP11.5) and successfully recorded scripts against a web app running in IE8. However, I have issues with Firefox and Chrome:
Firefox v16:
Will record in what appears to be the Terminal mode ie will record mouse clicks on objects via coordinates and when entering text in a field it will simply record this as keyboard input.
Chrome v22:
Will not record anything at all. No objects or low level Terminal mode script is recorded.
Has anyone else seen this? Note: I have installed the GUI Testing Web Add-In and checked it was active on launching UFT.

When I am trying to create a new test or trying opening an existing test it shows an exception with below message.
"An unexpected error occurred.
Click ‘OK’ to close this message. You may be able to continue working,
but note that this workflow may cause the error to occur again.
Click ‘Details’ to display technical details on this error which may help
you solve the problem, or can be used when contacting customer support."
Due to this exception I can't create or execute any test in QTP 11.5 (UFT).
Does anyone know how will I be able to resolve this issue?

Backup and Recovery Tool does not record backup

When I run the Backup and Recovery Tool backup on my OAS mid-tier (Portal/BI), the backup fails because it is unable to start the wireless service, which I am not using.
This would not be a big deal, except the Tool does not record the backup, so I cannot select it to restore.
Is there a way to force the Tools to recognize these backups or stop the Tools from attempting to start the wireless component?

dmctl have an option to backup the configuration only, I dont remember if that's available for that version,but you can check running dcmctl command without parameters, it would show a big list.
If dont, best way is making a cold backup, stop all process, make backup and start process. Remember to start proceses using dcmctl command, not opmnctl.

What OS version are you using?
What are the full specs. of the AV file, that is not Importing with Audio?
What Project did you set up, at New Project?
Exactly what steps were used to Import that AV file?
Did you allow adequate time for PrE 12 to Conform the Audio portion of your file?

When I try to make a sound recording Quickplayer does not record?

I tried to record my voice on Quickplayer however it does not record it. I looked at system preferences but did not notice any changes. However now it won't record my voice on audio recording.

Launch QuickTime Player.
From the menu bar top of your screen click File > New Audio Recording
Then tap the gray button with a red circle in the middle to start recording.

I'm having trouble recording a bass to go along with a recording I dropped into GB. I'm using an interface and I can hear the bass line, I've clicked on the 'record' button, but the sound does not record. What am I missing?

Double check all your audio settings.
System Preferences --> Sound --> Input should be set to your audio interface.
GB --> Preferences --> Audio/MIDI --> Input should be set to your audio interface.
With your track selected, open the Track Info pane, and select the Edit tab. Under input make sure that Mono 1 or 2 is selected (which number will depend on which input you plugged your bass cable into).

Hotmail, only in Firefox, does not function, chrome, yes, IE, yes, but not firefox--WHY?

I have uninstalled all versions of Firefox, no matter-Hotmail loads, but when trying to open any email or part of hotmail, does not function. I have now added Chrome and IE and they have no probs with Hotmail!
So, WTF?????

It has been suggested that the Foxit Reader plug-in can cause problems with Hotmail. Try disabling it, reloading the page and see if it helps.

Smart Recorder does not record. Time is not increment

I have just purchased a new X-Fi Extreme Music sound card.
I cannot record anything in Smart Recorder. The time display just stays at 00:00:00 when I press the record button. It is not because I enable the wait for sound feature. It just won't start.
What is wrong? Software bug in Smart Recorder? Any other with the same problem?

Nothing yet I think.
I tried to mail Creative support, but it seems like they have no clue about what is going on.
They keep telling me to try all sort of things, such as new drivers, install in safe mode, anti virus might have messed up the installation, etc...
I have followed their advice, but it does not help.
I'm stuck
I am just hoping that a newer version at some point will fix the problem.

Windows 8.1 Movie Maker Alone Does Not Record Sound (and never did)

I am using Windows 8.1 and having audio problems with Windows Movie Maker. The problem is that it will record visually but not audibly. In other words, I record a video from my webcam, and my appearance is fine, but the audio is blank.
Likewise, recording narration does not work either.
I do not understand this, because I have used my webcam on skype, and youtube: the sound works fine. I have checked the volume, I have checked recording devices, which all imply that recording is doing fine. I checked video volume, everything
was implied as fine. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Movie Maker. I have had help from a computer friend and we looked at every avenue we could. If someone could tell me what I need to do to make the audio work on Windows Movie
Maker, I would appreciate it. There may be some small thing we're missing.

Go to sound Volume Mixer and see if Windows Movie Maker shows up and is not muted.

OFT for web : does not record in popup windows

Hello (again)
I have a question :
I tried openscript to test my application (oADF based) and although it was got popup windows, all is working fine and recording.
Now with OFT for web, popup windows are not working (in recording mode, in popup window, buttons are not working) and not recorded !
Is there something in OFT for web parameters that I should change to have same behavior than openscript ?

Hi,
OFT comes with an Embedded browser so while record all navigations must be with in that browser only. You can try OFT Demo application see if you have any external pop ups in there as far as I have seen that demo application does not have any pop ups. Any external windows will not be recorded in OFT as far as I know. You can use Open script to do recordings in the external window.
IE popups can be handled in OFT for example the the https web page intialization warning IE pop up can be handled.

QuickTime player 10.2 does not record audio, mic works in other apps

OS: Mountain lion
QT player: 10.2
Perian and Soundflower are installed.
QT is not recording audio from the computer mic or even a headphone mic, neither for audio or video recording.
QT starts always for recording with the volume down.
The mic works in other apps (skype or garaband).
I am not able to find either the plist files for QT.
I used QT in the past to record audio from the computer mic.
I recently updated the OS from lion to mountain lion.
Any ideas why is not working?

OpenScript does not record Forms actions

Hi all
I've installed a fresh R12 instance with Vision DB to demo OpenScript/OLT. I had some challenges getting R12 up and running on Win2k3 :) but it's running now and I can login to both web and forms screens. It's 12.1.1
OpenScript will not record the forms actions though. It records web fine and records the action to launch the forms screen but nothing after that. I'm running OpenScript on WinXP with JRE 1.6.0_21. I'm using the Oracle EBS/Forms script type.
I've done some digging around these forums and elsewhere and previously there seems to be some work that needed to be done with jars to get the forms recorder to work. Is this still the case? What are the best steps to diagnose this problem?

I think it is better to not use Socket mode. Do you have control over your server? Which mode are you using now?
1. Look in the Java Control Panel -> Network Settings. Be sure "Use Browser settings" is checked, and that the default browser is the same one you are recording with in OpenScript. Make sure the JavaConsole does not have some other proxy configured.
2. Is your Forms NCA traffic configured on the server for Socket mode? In OpenScript Recording settings for EBS/Load you may need to check "Force HTTP Recording"
3. Is your Forms NCA traffic configured on the server for HTTPS?
Are you using IE or Firefox? Have you been able to record record regular HTTP scripts? What is your default JRE?

PDF Portfolio on IPAD using Adobe X does not record notes and highlights

I have uploaded a PDF Portfolio and ADOBE Reader X to my IPAD and cannot highlight or annotate the documents. The pencil tool is greyed out. Is there a setting that I am forgetting to create?

Currently Adobe Reader on iOS does not allow annotations on documents that are part of a Portfolio, though this is something we would consider supporting in a future release.
One way out is to extract the PDFs within the Portfolio (using Adobe Acrobat, for example) and individually editing them in Adobe Reader on iOS.

VS2010 does not record file upload process for web test

I'm trying to record the process of uploading a file to the system for web performance test.
The problem is when a new browser opens for uploading a document, the visual studio is not recording the URL (....Attachement/Upload.aspx) or POST and related Form Post Parameters.
Is there any settings to able to record when a new browser pops up?
I'm using VS2010 ultimate and the system is on MS Dynamics CRM platform.

Could you share us a screen shot about it? Do you mean that it opened a new tab in the same window or a new window in your IE browser?
Maybe you could use the Fiddler tool to record a web performance test, check the result.

My iphone 4s does not record high definition video

I cant find anything in the settings that allows 1080p to be turned on or off, but my camera is most definitely NOT recording at this level. Any suggestions as to how I can change that, or do I need to visit the Apple store?

I"m not even trying to pull them from the phone. I record a video, using the back camera, and when I watch the video on the phone itself, it is VERY grainy. My girlfriend has the iphone 4 (no 's') and the videos on her phone are much clearer, even when sent to my phone for viewing. I've cleaned the lens, and made sure the case doesnt get in the way, or cover the lens in any way.
I think I just got a bum phone, but wanted to be sure there isnt something in the settings that I need to adjust before taking it to the Apple store. Closest one is an hour away, so I dont want to make the drive if I dont need to.
