UGGGG!! IOS 5 updated, but didn't resync, dosn't see my ipad now!!
I got the ios 5 update to download and install (i think), using i tunes 10.5.0.142. Software was updating, created a backup but when it went to resync with the ipad, I got an error message that back up could not reinstall. Now the itunes dose not see the ipad at all when plugged into the computer. I have tried to reset the ipad with it plugged in and nothing......
Any help or advice would be great, I am pulling my hair out!!!!
Are they backed up to your computer? If so you can go to the "Apps" tab in the main window of your iPad and resync them there.
OR
On you iPad go to App Store > Updates and the first tab should be something called "Purchased" (if you have already entered you Apple ID) and you can re-download from there.

If you don't have a backup then you can't get the data back.
It's not typical for an update to require a restore, but for a handful of people the update gets interrupted, and this happens. -
OS 10.7.5, iTunes 11.0.1, and iOS 6.0.2 ... everything is updated, but iTunes won't read iPhone 5 or iPad as devices. Syncing was easy before recent iTunes update. Suggestions?
Are you using the correct cables. iPod cables look similar, but are not, as they are 1.1 USB cables, where your iPhone and iPad require a 2.0 USB cable.
Also, make sure you are not plugging your USB cable into a Hub or keyboard USB port, but one directly on the computer.
You may want to reset the USB ports, by resetting the SMC and PRAM

Make sure you have the Latest version of iTunes on your computer.

If it has NEVER been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again. Also, read this. -
Before the recent iOS 7 update I could get closed captioning on amazon prime movies, now it's not possible even the ones that have CC available .. I've turned it on in setting on my iPad mini but it doesn't work. Netflix is no problem.
Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

No, it's only on iPad 3 onwards - possibly because the iPad 2 doesn't have the noise cancellation hardware within it.

I don't have any unread email in my Iphone 4s (IOS 7 Updated ) but still it is showing 26 unread email, why is that so ??
Type unread in the search box and delete all of the messages that come up this will resolve the issue.

I have attempted to update ipad1 with latest update but after extracting software it goes to restoring ipad software and stops at 25% on the bar. Have tried several times but it does the same, I now have one usless ipad help! any ideas ?

Having looked through the forums here and elsewhere I will try a new phone restore on it to see if that helps and report back.

I had the same odd behavior about two weeks after I updated to iOS 5.0 as well.
Updates to 5.0.1 and virgin restores still didn't help. In fact 5.0.1 seemed to make the signal loss and battery drain worse.
