UGH! Help!New Mac owner and I'm about to throw it out the window! Won't stay connected wirelessly to the internet.

I purchased a MacBook Pro 13":
Processor 2.8 GHz Intel Core i7
Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
Graphics Intel HD Graphics 3000 384 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.3 (11D50b)
I have AT&T DSL with the 2wire wireless connected directly to the dsl line. There is no base computer. I owned a netbook prior to this and had several people use there pc laptops wirelessly before. Now I can't seem to get my Mac to stay connected wirelessly. My iPhone 4, touch and satalite still maintain perfect wireless connection as they did before. I called apple , they said it was my internet, I called AT&T they said it was the Mac. I have a similar post on AT&T, hopefully someone can help! This is NOT how I wanted my first Mac experience to go!!! It is vital I stay connected because I remote in to work constantly and can not be interrupted. Someone PLEASE help!!

Firefox doesn't install new versions of plugins, but Flash may update itself automatically.<br />
You are still one version behind on Flash, current is Flash 10.1 r85<br />
If the Flash player didn't update properly then you need to download the full version and run the installer as Administrator (right-click: Run as ...)

I also see the Mac version offered about every other week at Staples for about the same price.
Understand that the 2011 "Home/Student" edition does not come with a mail client.MS dropped Entourage with the 2011 version.
I am running Office 2008 on a Late 2010 i7 Quad iMac and a Core 2 Duo MBP (both are at OS 10.6.8) and I have no complaints. If you want the Entourage Mail client, you can still get Office 2008 from the vendor I linked.
I wonder if someone quoted the US$80 price thinking of Apple iWorks.

I am a new mac owner and I am having trouble finding drives...

When I log on to the imac, my partitioned drive is not visible as an icon on the desktop or in the finder. Also, I have a Seagate external hard drive that I have connected to the imac that I can't find either. It has recognized this drive before and nothing has changed on it. And I have seen the partitioned drive before as well, but it isn't showing it now. Any ideas?

ho do i run disk utilities? where are the preferences in the finder? i couldn't find it, which leads me to believe that something else is wrong because like i said it read them before and it is currently reading a Lacie drive that i have hooked up to time machine and i havent changed any settings. (i am the only one using this mac)
ok a bit more info, disk utilities does see the partitioned drive and the Seagate, but the partitioned drive (windows) is faded and it wont let me repair the drive. what does the faded mean?

VERY CONFUSED and STUCK!!! About to throw computer out of window!

I have been using a template with guidelines (are these paths?) to design within.
The shape I am designing within is a curved one, (for an ice cream tub) therefore any text I have used has had to follow the guidelines. (so bending slightly round the tub as it were)
Now that I have finished my artwork, I want to remove all lines (guides) so leaving just graphics. But I can't, all I do is remove the text too. Or else I get a message saying:
"Can't clear the objects. Can't split the text path into multiple text paths"
****How do I creat a line of text, to be skewed to follow a line, but remove the line JUST leaving text???****
Sorry, I am not au fait with teccy language, nor much of Illustrator language!
Can anyone help, pleeeeease?!

Help! Mac Mail and Hotmail issues

Hello. I'm looking for help with Mac Mail. I am a new Mac owner and haven't had any trouble before with hotmail on my ipod and iphone. Upon setting up the new mac and mail account (using a hotmail account) it started receiving messages, approximately 30. During that time, we turned off our Century Link wireless and set up a time capsule as wireless with the Century Link router/modem combo now acting only as a modem. After that, the email account stopped receiving messages. We tried removing the account and readding it and now no messages show up in the inbox at all. (not sure if changing the wireless actually affected any of this, but the timing was coincidental) When I look at "get account info", I can see that there are 543 messages listed under the Hotmail account under the heading "all messages on POP server." However, these messages do not actually show up in the Inbox. I've tried other help sites and as far as I can tell, the incoming and outgoing servers are set right. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello bbryson68, I'm sure you've just over-looked it.
The answer is to click on Adjust above the Clip in Viewer, this will bring into view a adjustments bar also above the Clip.
Now you just have to select the speed via the Turtle icon. Once the clip has been speed-up or down, you'll get a Slider
over the clip in question & a Rabbit icon indicating the clip has been speed-up.
If you want to keep audio undistorted check the Preserve Pitch checkbox above the viewer.
The Clip Slider & icon of Rabbit appear in the Clip-Trimer window below the main Clip, also check your Pref's to see if you have
Apply Slow Motion checked? This will slow or speed up all other clips to the first clip.

Take your Mac to a location with a fast, relaible Internet connection that will be all yours during the duration of the download.
If you want to complain, PLEASE call Apple and do so.
Internet only downloads of OS X is completely stupid, it assumes everyone has reliable Internet everywhere and /or no data caps.

Decided to upgrade from an old PowerBook G4, mostly for eyesight issues. Bought a new Mac Mini and hooked it up to an Apple A1267 Cinema Monitor. I cannot even figure out how to turn them on. Help please.

I am exhausted just getting to the point of being allowed to ask my question. I recently decided to upgrade from an old PowerBook G4 that we have used for years, and am using now. I bought a new Mac Mini and a reconditioned Apple A1267 Monitor that was working beautifully when hooked to a slightly newer PowerBook in the store. Both the Mini and the monitor are plugged in, and attached to each other but I feel light a dolt. I cannot even figure out how to turn them on or even get a power light to come on. Can someone help me?

Help a new Mac owner out with my iPhone

Yesterday I purchased the new 13.3 Macbook, and so far I'm learning what all the new computer has to offer. I'm a new mac user, and all of this is new to me... heck, I'm just not very savy when it comes to ANY computer.
I'm at the step where I need to sync my iPhone to iTunes. I plugged in the phone, hit sync, and when it was finished - all my contacts were there, but all of the applications are gone.
Only the original ones remain, the ones that were there when I purchased the phone.
Is there a setting I'm missing here?

In regards to iTunes content, an iPhone can be synced with an iTunes library on a single computer only. When syncing iTunes content with iTunes on another computer, all iTunes content on the iPhone will be erased first.
You need to transfer your iTunes library from the computer you were syncing iTunes content with for your iPhone to your new Mac. If you live near an Apple Store, the store will help you do this with a new Mac purchase. The same for photos and any other data available on your previous computer that you want/need available on your Mac.

Was the FCS on your old machine an upgrade? You will need to enter your original, full version serial first, and then you will be prompted for the upgrade serial number.
