Ugly HTML logo on my website

Hi,
I built my website with iWeb and there's an ugly logo in the middle that only appears online. When I launch the site offline, it cannot be seen. Any ideas why? I don't even know how to locate that sh*t in the HTML file... Link:
http://www.greglorincz.com/alkopop79/home.html

It's an image of an empty HTML Snippet.
There's no HTML Snippet in your published iWeb page.
Here's a sample page with such image :

And for future reference :
     Using the iWeb HTML Snippet
It's strange that your skills in your resume aren't sufficient to figure it out yourself.
But, then, iWeb is a great leveler.

Delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home/Library/Preferences folder. Then launch iWeb and see if it opens.
What happened was trying to open the html file reset the file path that iWeb saves in its preference file to tell it where to go when you launch iWeb.  Deleting the pref file and launching iWeb creates a new file and iWeb looks in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder for the Domain.sites2 file it uses to create your site.

  • Issue with templates and updating .html pages in my website

    Hello,
I have taken over updating a website for the charity I work for. I have updated some eleements of the .dwt template page, however it does not seem to be updating the other .html pages for the website. I do not get the update pages box just a box saying 'You placed the editable region "breadcrumbs" inside a block tag. Users of this template will not be able to create new blocks in this region. Move the region outside the block tag if you want users to be able to do this" - I click OK and it saves the .dwt page, but does not update any other .html pages.

  • How do I download and saves html files off my website to store and save using Dreamweaver CS3?

How do I download and saves html files off my website to store and save using Dreamweaver CS3?
I need to save all files from web and store onto a drive to reupload to a new domain name.  I use Dreamweaver CS3.

First define your Local Site folder in Dreamweaver.  DW will use this folder to store your site files.
Go to Manage Sites > New or Edit site.  See screenshots.
Servers:  Enter your remote server's log-in details.  When complete, hit TEST to see if the connection is working.  If all is well, hit SAVE.
From the Files Panel (F8), click on Remote Server to show the files that are currently there.  Click the green Down Arrow to GET files from remote server to your local site folder.

  • Need help with a logo for a website

I am not sure where else to ask, but I have had major difficulties with creating a logo for my website. I need some ideas, what colors to put together and fonts, etc. If someone can show me an example of the logo he/she can make (put watermarks on it), I would be willing to purchase it. Thank you for your attention.

Sure. I have a great logo of a monkey picking his butt.
Not what you had in mind? How would anyone know?
    What is your website about?
    Link?
What is your logo to communicate?
Will it be used in print or only online?
What are you willing to pay? (I am NOT auditioning for the job)
The Illustrator forum may be a better option since logo creation is best done in vector format.
    Good luck.
EDIT! OK, I missed the link in your post. Sorry. Damn these forums suck.

When I see code errors, I stop trying to trouble shoot  because code errors account for 98% of browser rendering problems.  When you clear up your orphaned tags: mismatched <p></p> and <li></li> tags, then I'll take a closer look.
PS. Being able to work with code is essential to using DW and 3rd party plugins.  Without basic coding skills, you're going to be lost most of the time.

  • [SOLVED] Logo on the website in bad quality?

    Hello,
Since some days I've noticed that the logo on the website is very bad quality:
Screenshot taken in debian lenny (at the office) with iceweasel 3.0.1
Has something changed or am I or my setup to blame?
    Zl.
/EDIT: the img-tags on the forum seem to enlarge the image, also worsening the image quality AND giving the impressions my whole screen is F***ed. No such thing though: only the image itself has jagged edges...

Sounds great in theory, but unfortunately the logo would then looked squished when viewed at normal font sizes (e.g. false resizing).

  • Looking for / adding a html logo to website

    Hi there,
I'm looking for the html code for a flashing logo (ideally simulating neon) so that I can add it to my iWeb page that I am making for my music. Does anyone know if this is possible and have any advice or ideas on how I could achieve this? I'm presuming if I figure out the code then I can add it as an html snippet in iWeb.
    Thanks in advance
    Steve :o)

A flashing logo can be anything. From a animated gif to Flash.
HTML accomplishes nothing of that kind. You may have to use JavaScript.
An animated gif is simple. Find or create one and use that. For Flash you need the proper object code and paste it in the HTML Snippet. [Here are some pages|http://web.mac.com/wyodor/iFrame> with an mix of codes.
I usually browse the internet looking for website that use what I'm looking for. Then I study the code and pick what I need.
To start, first define what it is you want to flash.

  • How do I paste a snippet of HTML code into my website

I downloaded HTML code that creates a clock with the date & time to paste into my website. How do I paste the code into the site?
I tried pasting the code onto the page in iWeb and it just shows up as if its just text.

Yes, though I don't know if it applies to exactly what you want to do:

  • Quicktime Logo on all website videos i.e. youtube, myspace

Please help. I have Quicktime Pro. Any website that has video on it wont let me play it. It always has the quicktime logo on the screen where the video should be!!!! I tried changing the MIME settings in quicktime preferences. I unchecked the box next to miscellaneous as i read on youtube to do this. Im new to apple mac so Im still getting used to it. This might sound like a stupid question but when you change settings and just close the box using the x button does this apply the changes or how do I apply the changes after changing settings?? Please if anyone has a solution for me please tell me as im going mental trying to work it out. Macbook is going to have itself a little fall from top floor window if I cant fix it LMAO. Cheers people. Tracy

Dear QuickTime Kirk or may I call you QuickTime,
Thanks for the suggestion which I executed as soon as I read it a day or two ago. Unfortunately, it made no difference and I can only get Q?-free flash stuff on my old G4 with Tiger, to whose stability and reliability I have now sadly entrusted all mail and web related work.
Leopard is in my view simply a cosmetic upgrade and clearly has some BAD QT and web problems. Removing (on another correspondent's advice) the QT webplugin helped a little, so at long last I could run the otherwise unviewable Leopard demo on Apple's own website (ironic or what?); but opening, for example, Epson's website presented me still with loads of Q?s which are beginning to undermine my confidence in the new OS.
But thanks for your kind interest!

  • HTML format only for websites, mountain lion

I recently upgraded my girlfriends MacBook Pro 13 inch Early 2011 to mountain lion. Upon the update, everything works except the browsers and the app store. No thumbnails or icons of any sort can be displayed. Websites are displayed in HTML. And when i try to update from the app store, which also looks crazy, i have the attached error returned to me:

    Well,
Solution found. My apologies to Apple. The problem of failing httpd was due to the fact that I had changed the SSH default port from 22 to 443. This was not done in a brutal way, but as recommended in the relevant posts that can be easily googled (New .plist file, new service in /etc/services launchctl load etc).
The fact that SSH was listening to the 443 port caused apparently a conflict with Apple's server httpd implementation.
There is a router in between that can forward ports. This router was re-programmed to forward port 443 from the internet to port 22. After a few restarts the SSH and Websites seem to function flawlessly.
Just for info, this is our second router used mostly for testing and back office development. Our productive router is directly connected to the internet, running firewall etc.
My advice is the following: Apple servers work! Just install a router that does the correct port forwarding according to your needs and leave the server alone, as designed by Apple.
Thanks for viewing the issue so far.
    D.
P.S. The SSH port conflict with SSL was suspected from the beginning. It's because apache ctl -k start worked (in the wrong directory) that made things complex.

  • Adding html code to iweb website

I'm trying to add html code (google analytics code) to my website via iweb.
Does anyone know how you can do this via iweb?

Robert ~ Welcome to the discussions. In the upper right of this forum's main page is a Search Forum bar. If you enter:
    analytics
...into it and hit Enter, you'll find many old threads about this topic.

  • HTML Data Sets on Website

    Hi,
I recently started using dreamweaver to create a website for school. I uploaded the home page here:https://netfiles.uiuc.edu/rbasava2/www/home.htm
Don't worry about the messed up video.
I put up the texts for the links up on the side. What I'm trying to do is when the link is clicked on the side, I only want to reload the box in the middle which will contain all the content. I looked into this a little and I think I have to use an html data set, but I wasn't able to figure out how to set this up or how to link it up to the links so it makes it so only the box reloads?

Here are a couple of links for HTML data sets:

Another technique you might want to look into is Spry Tabbed Panels:

A nice reference for Spry in general is here: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/
