Uh Oh, This isn't good

Now I'm wondering why I bothered. This weekend (last night) I went about the task reinstalling Windows XP, etc. I decided that since I was doing a clean wipe and reinstall I would upgrade my BIOS first from 2.2 to 2.4. This may have been a mistake. After I flashed the BIOS I had a devil of a time getting it up and running. From cold start I would get the big MSI screen and no response. When I reset, I would get no video (monitor light blinking) and only fans running. After a few of these patterns, I cleared the CMOS using the long drawn out method and reseated the memory, finally getting a boot up. When I finally got XP loaded I thought I was OK cept for a slight issue with IE. Then in the midst of a trial run of Freedom Force the game just disappeared, leaving me at desktop. 8o I reloaded, and the computer completely rebooted with no notice. Tonight, same thing, cept I was reading online at the time. Any ideas, folks?

If I can ever get anything aside from a time-out from the MSI main site I'll dl the 2.6 and give it a try.
The seagate drive is an ATA/66 drive, and the Maxtor is an ATA/100, so Im not too worried about access speeds at the moment.
Another thought, I could swear I read somewhere abouts the old forum that the IDE controller we're using could take advantage of different rates (66 vs 100) on the same channel so a slower drive wouldnt penalise a faster one.

I let Firefox update this weekend. Since then, when visiting Facebook and a couple other sites, the scrolling is very jumpy. This was not happening before the update, but it is very irritating. I've tried clearing the cache, but it didn't work for this issue. Any fix available?

Please uncheck smooth scrolling in Options > Advanced > General
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
Then perform these steps:
#Open Firefox ''Options'' window (''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux) as follows:
#* In Firefox 29.0 and above, click the menu button [[Image:New Fx Menu]] and select ''Options'' for Windows or ''Preferences'' on Mac or Linux.
#* In Firefox 28.0 and previous versions, click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
#In the Firefox Options (or Preferences) window, click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select ''General''.
#In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
#Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:

Verizon Edge Plan - Is this really a good deal?

The actual service plan costs do not change at all. $40 for a Smartphone access, and $50 for 2gb, $60 for 4gb data, etc.
Typically you put down $199 for a 16gb iPhone (+the new $30 upgrade fee), that leaves $450 left you owe on the phone that is rolled into your 2 year contract.
Now with Edge you can get the same phone for only $27.15 down. Sounds great, right? However typical contract monthly bill just went up $27.15 to pay for that new phone, as you are paying for your new phone separately in full, from your service plan.
(That $27.15 payment works out to be $328.80 a year)
That $450 ($225 per year) that previously got rolled into your service contract is still there.......yes, you are still paying for 2/3 of a smartphone in your service plan.....I mean month-to-month service.
And if you trade your phone in when it gets 50% paid off, you better hope that phone is in good condition - Verizon needs to have that phone in good condition so they can resell it back to other customers as "refurbished".
"To be eligible for the Edge Up option, the Edge phone being returned must be in good working condition and have no significant damage, as determined by Verizon Wireless."
And once you are in the plan, you can't get out until you have a phone paid off completely, so unless you are able to make extra payments toward your device, that's 2 years.

Take a look at Apple's document for authorizations -> iTunes Store: About authorization and deauthorization.
You can deauthorize all computers from iTunes. All you have to do is click iTunes Store, click your account name in the upper right corner of iTunes, then deauthorize all.

iOS 6 can be loaded without problem on the 3GS. Not all features are supported however.

Try resetting it. Hold the on/off and home buttons together for about 10 seconds till the Apple logo appears.

Sorry i correct myself i had been an iPhone user for about 3 years. My last Apple iPhone was an iPhone 5. I am getting used to things with the Samsung but really think the extra features such as smart stay and scroll are coverting humans into robots. The configuration of the features is also difficult as it detects your eye movement so if the movement is out of place even the slightest the feature will not function. I think the ios user interface is simple in comparison to the android user interface. Any views are appreciated? I have many friends also using HTC and prefer it in comparison to the iPhone and Galaxy but as raymond73 mentioned choice is a wonderful thing.

Yes, call Apple and buy a copy of Leopard (10.5.x). Snow Leopard (10.6.x) only runs on Intel, Leopard does run on PowerPC.

What turns the trial into the live software is signing in. If you sign in with the Adobe ID that has the subscription, the trial becomes live. First check your account on Adobe.com to make sure that the subscription is live.
