Hi all,
I have few questions for UI Element NETWORK.
1- What is the use of UI Element NETWORK?Can we set its height and width?
2- When we set a Context element to it as a XSTRING and then exectue application a icon for java Applet displays and pass a information applet acf applet notinited.
After it it displaying after few minutes Loading applet failed.
What does it means.
Suggess.

It is a generic editor for network graphics. It can be used to display anything that can be visualized as a set of nodes and links between nodes
You can set the width and height one of this should be in pixels.
2- When we set a Context element to it as a XSTRING and then exectue application a icon for java Applet displays and pass a information applet acf applet notinited.
It expects an XML which is based on its schema

Unfortunately, that is fairly old and doesn't cover any of the editing features. More tutorials would be a great idea: Thanks for the suggestion. As for changing the color and size of a freehand drawing, please tap on the drawing. This should show a menu from which you can choose "Delete, Thickness, Color, Opacity". Once chosen, we will remember your choice for subsequent drawings. Hope this helps!

Error when clicking on open button of UI element Network (JNet API)

Hi,
I use the UI element Network (JNet API). It allows you to define a user interface. I use the predefined command "OPEN" in my user interface. But when running the application and pressing the open button in the user interface of the Network UI Element no file chooser appears. Instead there is this error message:
Resource '<native>' not found.
And this message is in the Java console:

request kindly let me know, which standard report gives the details of
created on
             Project Definition or
             WBS Element or
             Network
I am checked up the available standard reports, created by is available but created on is not available.
pl help if any one knows which PS report gives this information.

Field "created on" is not delivered in the standard reports.
Sunil's suggestion is quite a good option. You can also consider adding the field
to your report's layout by means of a modification. In note 43493 you will find all the necessary steps and details to do so.

I have all my pictures stored at a server (LAN), and I need to access (and also edit) a central catalog which should be located at the server, from various other PCs.
Is this possible and friendly?

Friendly is relative and so is network performance.
I have both PrE and PsE. My catalog, video, and photo content are all stored on a server. PrE's media cache is on a local drive. The catalog size is fairly large -- I don't have the exact numbers in front of me now but ~17,000 pohotos. The performance is fine for me (even for video editing). However, I have a gigibit LAN, a Ubuntu server, and a optimized samba configuration.
I would suggest you run some network performance tests. If you are getting above 500 Mbps throughput with low latencies you should be fine. Possibly even this is overkill if you are not editing videos.
And the previous post is correct in that the catalog is locked exclusively which will prevent multiple people from opening the catalog at the same time.

Cj8g actual settlement ; projects/wbs elements/networks

We are every month running cj8g with variant and it is useful for settlements of costs from network>wbs>auc. We are running the variant with Project field with * option.
We are facing one issue, how can we eliminate /avoid the projects which are in having System Status with CLSD, if we dont put restriction the actual settlements are done for all the projects.

We have created Purchase Requisition document type as ZPRJ for Project system to create a automatic PR. When we run Project Builder the Auto PR will get create for Network by selecting the PR document type ZPRJ. But PR for WBS element instead of selecting ZPRJ it is selecting NB document type. Our requirement is whenever PR generate through Project builder it should create for doc. type ZPRJ.
Please let me know how to assign the ZPRJ PR document type for WBS Element. For both document type NB & ZPRJ we have maintain same number ranges but it should select only ZPRJ document type for WBS element & Network.

How to create and use templete or standard network / activity and wbs

dear
i have define the structure for my project which have WBS elements, network and activties. the strucutre is same for all the projects that i define.
i wanna know whether to use templete or standard wbs network and activities as templete for the project.
for a network there are almost 150 activties across 10 wbs elements i want this structure as a templete what can i do create it.
Further, how can i use LSMW to create relationship for ativities?

Unable to caluclate cost in CJ20 for wbs and network level.

Hi All,
I have a query in the project Builder(CJ20N).
I created Project>WBS Elements>Network> and posted costs via assigning activity.
If I select an activity and go to edit>Costs, the "calculate costs" option is activated. ( I get "Message Costs were calculated: See menu Edit -> Costs -> Planned - Actual")
And also I am able to view the cost in Edit>Costs> Plan/Actual.. "Activity/Element". Please see the screenshots of Plan /actual comparison.
However if I select the WBS or Network and go to edit>Costs, the "calculate costs" option is disabled (frozen) and also in the same path Plan/Actual> "activity/Element" option is disabled (Frozen).
Request you to review the attached screenshot and advise is there any way to defreeze the option "calculate costs" and view the costs in WBS and Network level?

why you want to see plan cost in project builder CJ20n? any specific reason please let us know...
every structure report having this kind of feather as CN41n/CNS41 then check these two report.
and lots of hierarchical report is there for seeking plant cost in project as Gokul suggested above.
so in project builder only plan VS actual cost can be look like by network activity.

Go to SPRO > MM >Purchasing > Account Assignment > Maintain Account Assignment Categories > Here for "A" make WBS Element (Network / Project) as optional field and check in PO
Otherwise, use "P" instead of "A"

Settlement Rule in Networks

Hi Friends,
I'm trying to create settlement rules for networks in CJ20N and facing issues. I have projects with WBS elements, networks, and activitieis (standard projects). System is allowing to maintain dettlement rules for WBS elements, but not for networks, i.e., when I go to Edit - Cost - Settlement rules, after selecting networks, the settlement rule page is coming up only in display mode. Any suggestions on what could be the root cause? FYI... I have all necessary authorizations roles in Project Systems.

Also check if your network is header assigned or activity assigned. if the same is header assigned in that case only you can assign settlement rule at network header if the same is activity assigned in that case you need to assign settlement rule at activity level.

Posting for secondary cost element

Hi All,
After running KSU5 (cost centre settlement, we have small balance in secondary balance. Could you please advise how we can post entries between secondary cost element.

KSU5 is used for cost center assessments (settlements are a type of allocation for internal order/WBS elements/networks/etc). Once you define the rules for the allocation, SAP will follow those rules and post the appropriate entries. You cannot post manually/directly to secondary cost elements. SAP cannot get "out of balance" during an allocation. When you say "small blance in secondary balance", I am not sure what you mean. Are you saying there is a financial balance remaining in the Sender cost center? More info is need to properly address the issue.
