There is really no "best" setting here for the AirPort Express devices. If you need more wireless coverage in the area where an Express is located, then it makes sense to configure the Express to "extend" a wireless network.
If you already have good coverage in an area where an Express is located, then the "join" configuration makes sense.
I've yet to meet the first user who felt that he/she had too much wireless signal coverage in their home, but you never know.

  • What's the dif between an IPhone,Pad or Pod?

What's the dif between an IPhone,IPad,& IPod?

While the iPod and the iPad can perform most of the same functions as the iPhone, you cannot use SMS, a carrier feature that would require a cellular phone, and you cannot make regular phone calls with the iPod or iPad, but you can use services such as Skype. The other posters have provided you with some other information to look at. You need to determine what it is you actually want to do with the device and make your decision that way. Of course, the iPhone is more expensive than the iPod, but close to the iPad. The iPhone would require cellular access from a carrier, and that may be a contract for a set period of time, or it could be a pay as you go, depending on the carrier.

  • Registered DDR & regular DDR what's the dif?

Hi all. What's the difference between Registered/ECC DDR modules and non registered/ECC ones?Any performance boost?

ECC= Error checking and correcting. Memory has additional modules, often smaller that goes near connecting pins that do check and correct if has to, memory work. Registered= Additional function that helps memory to move massive data. As said, these memories are made for servers that supports sinchronic memory.- You can read about it forum in Corsair website. (This is a short and most possible bad resume). One thing is clear as you stated in your post. They more than often, doesen't work on common Mobos.

  • Maps 2. What are the white dots meant to be ?

I've noticed that in Maps 2 (sure they are not there in Maps 1) that some roads (seemingly at random) have little white squares / dots running along them.
I say seemingly at random as I cannot fathom any logic as to which roads they appear on. They are constantly on the same roads... but these roads can be either major roads, little lanes and very very narrow side streets.
Sometimes they are only on part of a road and then stop... onlt to appear further along the road.
No documentation I can find explains what they mean.
Its not an end of the world issue, but its driving me crazy (pun not intended) as to what they represent.
They appear on the maps even when no navigation is set, so not route maps or markers for walking directions.
    Anyone know the answer ?
A virtual beer for anyone that does ;-)
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

No. The idea is that if you can drive on it, you can walk on it (excluding highways). But not all roads you can walk on can you also drive on.
What happened to me is that when I had old (v1) maps on my N95 and I updated the Maps to v2, my maps got corrupted, and they would show only half a street, and walk/drive info was all wrong.
I reset my N95 and uploaded the maps application and the maps and it worked fine ever since.
Try deleting all the maps with the MapLoader and if that doesn't help reinstall the Maps application. If that doesn't help, try resetting the device (*#7370#). You will lose all unsaved data, so backup your phone memory to the memory card in the Memory Card options -> Make a backup of phone memory. After reset, retrieve your phone data with the same option.

  • Email -  settings for gmail on iphone; Gmail or Exchange?? what's the dif??

hey there, can anyone itemize the differences between using Exchange for GMail, versus just using the GMAIL setup for email on the iphone4?
In the past i have had IMAP and GMAIL, and the single exchange.. NOW I am using exchange for access to all my gmail accounts. why should I use the GMAIL settings, instead of Exchange? for my gmail activity?
    thanks

    Thank  you for your help.
I've read in numerous places that Safari should play .mp4 files fine and many of the iPhone presets output .mp4 files.  In general, I've read, including at Apple's website, to enode using H.264 MPEG4 part 10, AAC audio, etc.  I have tried creating custom presets and different subsettings, such as bitrate, frames, etc.
I cannot get anything to work correctly when trying to view the video using Safari on iPhone or iPad.
Anyone else know of any specific settings that will work?

  • What's the dif  "sync only checked songs and videos"&"manually manage music

Can someone please explain the difference between "sync only checked songs and videos" and "manually manage music and videos"
It probably makes sense to someone that uses many iTunes features but I just download podcasts and music.
    stars given freely

    Niel wrote:

Okay , I had "*Manually Managed*" checked in the summery and had restored the iPod to get rid of some videos that wouldn't go away. When I went to Music and checked *Sync Music* Selected Playlists, etc. it appears that the *Manually Manage* box in the Summery un-checked itself.
    Interesting,
So just to clarify ; When *Manually Managed* is checked you can only drag things into the device from your library (outside the device), using the Music tab within the device will negate this ?

  • What is the importance of word account in 'Account' assignment elements

Automatic 'account assignment derivation' minimizes the manual effort of entering postings in which the 'account assignment elements' can be entered. The values derived appear as default values that you can overwrite if you wish.

These are many place where word account assignment elements is used in sap.
what is the importance of word 'Account'. What should we understand if word 'account' assignment element wording is used in FM,CO or FI.

i have tried but no one answers specific question -- What is 'account assignment element'.
its used everywhere as if everyone understands it in every module.
    for e.g
FM account assignment elements are not migrated to BCS. Nevertheless, they are crucial to proper migration, since budget data is assigned to these account assignment elements. You have the following options:
    ·  If you do not want use new FM account assignment elements in BCS, you should proceed as follows:
Migration at fiscal year-end: no specific action is required. See link below.
Migration during the course of a fiscal year: you should carry out the activation of account assignments for BCS and optionally also define your budget structure.
    ·  If you want to use new FM account assignment elements in BCS, such as the grant or funded program, proceed as follows:
Now if someone is new to SAP what would he understand with word - FM account assignment elements
Like in FI we have GL account and in FM we have Commitment item. Two different nomenclature. Why account assignment element is used freely as If everyone else understands it, I would love to understand that how to interpret word account assignment element differently if used in different module.

  • Sql Anywhere product road map

    Hello, all
Our company is about to start a new large project soon.
Several DB providers are being evaluated, among them SAP SQL Anywhere.
Since this is going to be a product line for the next 15-20 years, we need to know if SAP has road map for SQL Anywhere.
The vagueness of SQL anywhere  future is currently the biggest drawback for us, since technically it is an excellent solution.
If anyone can point me to the product road map, it would very helpful.
    Thank you
    Arcady

    Hi Arcady,
As far as I know, SQL Anywhere is alive and well.  In addition to being offered as an product for sale to end users and OEMs, it is part of, or included with, many other SAP solutions.  For example, SQL Anywhere is included as part of Business Objects and the SAP Mobile Platform, and SQL Anywhere data synchronization (MobiLink) is currently in beta as a new offering for the Hana Cloud Platform.
There is a recent product roadmap for SQL Anywhere posted on SAP Service Marketplace, which you should be able to access if you have an account.
Development is continuing on SQL Anywhere and a new release is planned for this year (I don't believe a firm date has been announced yet).
Hopefully this information helps to address your concerns.  If not, please feel free to contact me directly if you have any further questions about the future of SQL Anywhere (firstname dot lastname at sap dot com).

  • What are the  milestone of any project

what are the  milestone of any project ?????
can u explain each and every step and if there is any sub step invole
and with few activity work involed in each step
    thanks

    Hi Hanumant,
In ASAP methodology each step is one of the milestone in the project.
ASAP stands for Accelerated SAP. Its purpose is to help design SAP
implementation in the most efficient manner possible. Its goal is to effectively
optimize time, people, quality and other resources, using a proven methodology to
    implementation.
ASAP focuses on tools and training, wrapped up in a five-phase process oriented
    road map for guiding implementation.
The road map is composed of five well-known consecutive phases:
    u2022        Phase 1 Project Preparation
    u2022        Phase 2 Business Blueprint
    u2022        Phase 3 Realization
    u2022        Phase 4 Final Preparation
    u2022        Phase 5 Go-Live and support
In today's post we will discuss the first phase.
    Phase 1 : Project Preparation
Phase 1 initiates with a retrieval of information and resources. It is an important
time to assemble the necessary components for the implementation. Some
important milestones that need to be accomplished for phase 1 include
    u2022        Obtaining senior-level management/stakeholder support
    u2022        identifying clear project objectives
u2022        architect an efficient decision-making process
u2022        creating an environment suitable for change and re-engineering
u2022        building a qualified and capable project team.
    Senior level management support:
One of the most important milestones with phase 1 of ASAP is the full agreement
and cooperation of the important company decision-makers - key stake holders
and others. Their backing and support is crucial for a successful implementation.
    Clear project objectives:
be concise in defining what your objectives and expectations are for this venture.
Vague or unclear notions of what you hope to obtain with SAP will handicap the
implementation process. Also make sure that your expectations are reasonable
considering your company's resources. It is essential to have clearly defined
ideas, goals and project plans devised before moving forward.
    An efficient decision making process:
One obstacle that often stalls implementation is a poorly constructed decision-
making process. Before embarking on this venture, individuals need to be clearly
identified. Decide now who is responsible for different decisions along the way.
From day one, the implementation decision makers and project leaders from
each area must be aware of the onus placed on them to return good decisions
    quickly.
Environment suitable for change and re engineering:Your team must be willing to
accept that, along with new SAP software, things are going to change, the
business will change, and information technology enabling the business will
change as well. By implementing SAP, you will essentially redesign your current
practices to model more efficient or predefined best business practices as
espoused by SAP. Resistance to this change will impede the progress of your
    implementation.
    ASAP- Second Phase- Business Blueprint
SAP has defined a business blueprint phase to help extract pertinent information
about your company that is necessary for implementation. These blueprints are in
the form of questionnaires that are designed to probe for information that
uncovers how your company does business. As such, they also serve to
document the implementation. Each business blueprint document essentially
outlines your future business processes and business requirements. The kinds
of questions asked are germane to the particular business function, as seen in
    the following sample questions:
    1) What information do you capture on a purchase order?
    2) What information is required to complete a purchase order?
Accelerated SAP question and answer database:
The question and answer database (QADB) is a simple although aging tool
designed to facilitate the creation and maintenance of your business blueprint.
This database stores the questions and the answers and serves as the heart of
your blue print. Customers are provided with a customer input template for each
application that collects the data. The question and answer format is standard
across applications to facilitate easier use by the project team.
    Issues database:
Another tool used in the blueprinting phase is the issues database. This
database stores any open concerns and pending issues that relate to the
implementation. Centrally storing this information assists in gathering and then
managing issues to resolution, so that important matters do not fall through the
cracks. You can then track the issues in database, assign them to team
members, and update the database accordingly.
    ASAP Phase- 3 - Realization:
With the completion of the business in phase 2, "functional" experts are now ready
to begin configuring SAP. The Realization phase is broken in to two parts.
    1) Your SAP consulting team helps you configure your baseline system, called the
    baseline configuration.
    2) Your implementation project team fine-tunes that system to meet all your
business and process requirements as part of the fine tuning configuration.
The initial configuration completed during the base line configuration is based on
the information that you provided in your blueprint document. The remaining
approximately 20% of your configuration that was not tackled during the baseline
configuration is completed during the fine tuning configuration. Fine tuning usually
deals with the exceptions that are not covered in baseline configuration. This final
bit of tweaking represents the work necessary to fit your special needs.
    Configuration Testing:
With the help of your SAP consulting team, you segregate your business
processes into cycles of related business flows. The cycles serve as independent
units that enable you to test specific parts of the business process. You can also
work through configuring the SAP implementation guide (IMG). A tool used to
assist you in configuring your SAP system in a step by step manner.
    Knowledge Transfer:
As the configuration phase comes to a close, it becomes necessary for the
Project team to be self-sufficient in their knowledge of the configuration of your
SAP system. Knowledge transfer to the configuration team tasked with system
maintenance (that is, maintenance of the business processes after Go-live)
needs to be completed at this time.
In addition, the end users tasked with actually using the system for day-to-day
    business purposes must be trained.
ASAP Methodology - Phase 4 - Final Preparation:
As phase 3 merges into phase 4, you should find yourselves not only in the midst
of SAP training, but also in the midst of rigorous functional and stress testing.
Phase 4 also concentrates on the fine tuning of your configuration before Go-live
and more importantly, the migration of data from your old system or systems to
    SAP.
Workload testing (including peak volume, daily load, and other forms of stress
testing), and integration or functional testing are conducted to ensure the accuracy
of your data and the stability of your SAP system. Because you should have begun
testing back in phase 2, you do not have too far to go until Go-live. Now is an
important time to perform preventative maintenance checks to ensure optimal
    performance at your SAP system.
At the conclusion of phase 4, take time to plan and document a Go-live strategy.
Preparation for Go-live means preparing for your end-users questions as they
start actively working on the new SAP system.
    ASAP - Phase 5 - Go-live and Support:
The Go-live milestone is itself is easy to achieve; a smooth and uneventful Go-live
is another matter altogether. Preparation is the key, including attention to what-if
scenarios related not only to the individual business processes deployed but also
to the functioning of technology underpinning these business processes and
preparation for ongoing support, including maintenance contracts and
documented processes and procedures are essential.
I hope it will help you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • What is the difference between a full and a upgrade version?

When I want to buy photoshop elements 8.0 i can select a full or upgrade version, the price is alsmost thesame.
normally you would think a upgrade is just a upgrade and you can't use it if you don't already have photoshop Elements installed.
but in many online stores they only sell the upgrade version.
so that makes me believe you can buy it even tho you don't have any photoshop elements on your pc.
    so what is the difference?

The only difference between the Upgrade and Full version is of the pricing. I believe right now Adobe is already offering PSE at $79 so there is no Upgrade option appearing on the website (although I am not sure about unavailability, I just stating what one of the user on the forum says).
Legally, you should be a previous customer of PSE to buy an upgrade version and I am not sure but I believe when one go for buying the Upgrade version they do need to provide the serial number of the previous verison.(not sure though)

  • What does the grey box and brush in some project bin images mean?

Using Elements 10 with Windows 7:  What does the small grey box and brush in the upper right corner of some project bin images signify?  Thanks!

Thanks!  Yes, it does seem to be random.  BTW, how did you learn of this?  I've not seen it written anywhere.

  • Road MAp element customization

I have 8 steps in my application.
All 8 are shown on the screen as road map.
I want to customize it as a way that only 4 are shown first and when I complete 4rth step I want the other 4 steps to be shown. Is there any way to do it?

    Yes It is possible.
What you need to do is to maintain the context structure so that all the properties in your roadmap steps are bound to the context attributes. Make sure you have an attribute in your context node for 'visible' property.
Now, initially, build your roadmap such that the steps 1-2-3-4 are visible and rest are invisible. (This can be done by means of a supply function or wherever you are creating the roadmap steps).
Next, once you reach the 4th step, in the event handler, set the attribute bound to visibility of the 4 elements corresponding to steps 5-6-7-8 to 'X'.
    Hope this helps.

  • What is the road map to start XI

    HI Frnds,
Me previously worked on Datawarehousing.Datastage(ETL tool). Now I shifted to XI 4months back.In my company they given a warm up training on XI and some basic scenarios. Now they directly kept me at one interface(project).Ok Iam doing good there.
But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant. And am I want to learn SAP functional to stay at SAP for long run.
So what are the things I have to learn and what are the essentials to be need to stay in SAP XI space for long run?

    hi,
<i>But what my question is ,what is the actual road map to start the XI like from SLD or Adapter or from Mapping what is the step-by-step learning and what are the essential things I have to know as a SAP XI consultant</i>
You need to know all of these to become an XI consultatnt in a true sense.
If you ask me , the best way would be to begin by understanding XI architecutre, and then moving on to simple FILE to File scenarios, and then a few complicated ones. After getting a grasp of how XI works, maybe you can visit SLD concepts and understand internally what is happening in XI.
Meanwhile,Following are the links to weblogs which will help to develop the basic scenarios.

  • Reg:Road Map UI element

    Dear All,
I am using Road Map UI element to display number of managers in a department. So i used Multiple Road Map Step
and after fetching data of managers i am binding the table data to Multiple Road Map step.
My requirement is  i need to highlight the Top level position manager with orange colour. So how to highlight the
required step from the group of dynamically created steps as per the data of managers????

    Pankaj,
Do you have any buttons like previous and next where you are invoking an action handler and setting step?
    Thanks
