UI: Enable/Disable UDF's in Code

Hi all,
is it possible to make UDF's enabled or disabled in code? For example, in Item Master Data, I can each item
make disabled with:
Set oForm = GetFormByTyp(150, 1)
Set oItem = oForm.Items.Item("5")
oItem.Enabled = False
but in UDF's window, I cannot do the same:
Set oForm = GetFormByTyp(-150, 1)
Set oItem = oForm.Items.Item("udfField")
oItem.Enabled = False
Can anybody help?

thank's for your reply. But when I start my code, always comes this warning:
"Item - this item is not a user-defined item an cannot be manipulated in such manner"
My UDF's form -150 is always opened and each EditBox I want to make disabled is my own user-defined field. What's your opinion? Have I forgot something?

Hi,
I created a single UDF under Marketing Docs -> Title using the B1 GUI.
In my code, I disabled that EditText object. Now, I cannot seem to re-enable it. I get:
The Item Is Not a User-Defined Item
I've restarted B1. I've restarted my compiler. And I even deleted and re-created the UDF. It remains disabled.
Also, it is only disabled on the Sales Order form (that is where the code originally disabled it). It worked fine on all other sales forms.
I did a search, but couldn't find any posts with this exact problem

Hi Paul,
When you create a UDF with GUI or DI API in Marketing Docs,SBO will treat it as a System field and you can not set its editable property value.
So one work around is that we can get the UDF value in got focus event and validate that in validate event

Enable/Disable Column in a Advanced Bean Table

Hi,
I have 2 columns that needs to be enabled/disabled on a standard oa page PO Lines summary page.
I went through couple of blogs/forums and found 2 approaches :-
Approach 1
1) Extended the standard VO POLinesMerge.
2) Added a attribute column DeriveDisplayFlag of type VARCHAR2 . This call a database function and will return Y or N
3) Added a attribute of type ShowAdditionalColumn boolean. the get method of this attribute returns TRUE if DeriveDisplayFlag is 'Y' otherwise returns FALSE.
4) created a substitution for the custom VO
5) uploaded the substitution to mds.
6) copied the xml/class files to $JAVA_TOP/..
7) Bounced entire middle tier
8) using personalization, entered a SPEL command on the rendered property. I know rendered will hide/show the column but for time being I just want this to work.
But this fails :-
oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: Message not found. Application: FND, Message Name: FND_VIEWOBJECT_NOT_FOUND. Tokens: VONAME = XXPBPoLinesMergeVO; APPLICATION_MODULE = oracle.apps.po.document.server.DocumentAM;
I am not aware how to get around this. Can someone help please?

2) trying to extend controller class OrderLinesTableRNCO. But have couple of questions. This iis a advanced bean table so how should i reference individual record and the column that i need to disable/enable ?

Also, when i am entering a new record at what point in time the 2 new attribute will derive its value? the 2 attributes are dependent on the Item number column but i have not created a dependency between the attributes and Item# column.
Will the controller logic fire for every column while i am entering a new record?

I have went and told back to my business team that I am not able to do this so now they have asked me to enable/disable columns based on a dff value on po header. I thought this will be easier by extending the controller class on PO Lines table but that too is not working.

Enabling / Disabling graphs and opening a new Front Panel Window

Hi,
I have a simple application of showing 12 analog signals on 12 different graphs placed vertically in aligned position. I have to develop a user interface so that if user wants to display signal no. 1, 4 and 6 out of total 12 signals, he should make selection using check boxes and click a re-draw button. It should result in opening a separate window with these three signals displayed as separate graphs aligned vertically and adjusted to fit window size. Similarly later user can change his selection of displaying signals (from same acquired data) say 1, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9, 11 & 12 and click Redraw button. It should result in opening a new Window showing all these signals as separate graphs which are aligned vertically and resized to fit the window. Now I have two major issues in this context.
1) I have been searching LabView help to locate a way to open a new window for this purpose but I failed to locate any way for it. As per my limited knowledge, it seems that we cannot have multiple "Front Panel" windows in Labview.
2) For the graph I could not locate a control to enable/disable a graph so that it appears or vanishes. Is there any way to achieve it?
I shall appreciate your valuable advice. I shifted from "Lab View Signal Express" to "Lab View" in order to achieve this user interface design but I am still not successful in finding a good solution for this application.

Hi Mnuet,
You can do what was said above. Here is a KB on dynamically loading VIs. It looks something like this.
Dynamically loaded VIs are loaded at the point in code while running, as opposed to being loaded when the parent VI is loaded into memory like normal subVIs. You can make a reference to them and then control the front panel appearance, their run status, etc with property nodes and invoke nodes.

Need help with OA Framework. Enable/Disable LOV dynamically

I am new to OA Framework. My requirement is as follows;
The page should have a field with parameter org code (LOV). When the user selects an org and click GO button, the page should display all the inactive items (which have no Sales order or work order for last 2 years). In the table region, user selects single record or multiple records by a check box. The selected records should be processed after clicking a submit button in the table region. The process is, calling an API to change the status of the item to Inactive or some other status. The status should be determined by the user by selecting a LOV within the table region. I could create LOV based field for org code and could display the data on the page. I have been trying to display the LOV for item status , I have created a LOV under table region under table components > table actions. I could open the LOV and select a value, but the value is not defaulting to the field on the page. Somebody please help me with a suggestion or if you have the code for a similar kind of requirement please share with me.
Also, need some suggestion on how to enable and disable LOV dynamically. I want to display the 2 LOV's in different regions. I want to enable the LOV for Item Status only after the org code is selected and the page populated after the user clicks GO button.

I could open the LOV and select a value, but the value is not defaulting to the field on the page.pls check the LOV mapping ,this might be wrong.
to enable/Disable LOV dynamically ,u need to use PPR,please check the lab solution exercise create employee chapter to learn to implement PPR functionality.

How to enable / disable SSRS Parameter

Hi
I want to enable a parameter called "start date" (type is date) when another (value from dropdown) parameter is selected
Say for an example, i have below 3 parameters
1. drop down which 2 values called "vtextbox","vdate"
2. start (data type is date)
3. finish (data type is date)
when i select "vdate"value from the dropdown 2nd and 3rd parameters has to be enable
similarly when i select "vtextbox" value from the dropdown 2nd and 3rd parameter has to disable
I have searched many forums every one says this is not possible in report manager interface
But this is possible in custom code
please make a note all three parameters are independant
It would be great if any one provide the custom code for same

According to your description, you want to use a parameter to control enable/disable other two parameters. Right?
In Reporting Services, when we create a parameter, this parameter has been enabled. The only way you want to disable the parameter is deleting it. In this scenario, disable the two parameter is same as selecting all values in these two parameters. So
we can just modify the default values in 2nd and 3rd parameter instead of using cascading parameter. We can create a dataset, put in the query below:
IF @Param='vtextbox'
select distinct startdate from [table]
else
select '[value]'
The [value] can be any value which is not existing in [table]. So when you select 'vtextbox', the default value will be all values in the table. If you select 'vdate', it will need you to select value automatically because the return value is not existing
in the table. This can be an effective workaround for your requirement.

On my main page, it has a query section and display search result to a table component, and also has some operation buttons like (update/delete) on the toolbar.
I want to enable/disable the operation buttons according to some filed value of the selected row in the table, and I searched the OTN forum, found more questions like this but seemed no found one right solution.
The table is single selection, and has a status column, its data type is Integer, and I want to enable buttons when the selected row's status field value is 0 or 1, disable buttons when status value is other values.

Hi,
create an attribute binding in the PageDef file for the status field. Then setup the button PartialTriggers property to point to the table ID. The button's disabled property then points to the status attribute binding like
#{bindings.statusField.inputValue=='value'}

Button enable/disable in Master-Detail table

I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.3.0 and I have a page fragment (.jsff) which includes a Master-Detail table and the Master table has 3 buttons that get enabled/disabled based on the specific string within a column say, if the column has value, 'DRAFT', the buttons should be enabled. In all other cases, the buttons should be disabled.
The above mentioned scenario works in cases where the table has more than one row in the table; but in two cases the buttons don't get enabled even though the column has 'DRAFT' as its value:
     1. when the table first loads with the data populated in the table; clicking on the first row doesn't trigger the buttons, clicking on any other row triggers the buttons
     2. when there is only one row in the table
To resolve this, I tried looking at the logs for any specific information regarding the buttons getting enabled or disabled. I couldn't find info on setting up a breakpoint for the commandbutton and the disabled property which would enable me to determine whether it is being triggered as soon as the table gets populated or not.
How can I get the buttons to work per my requirements? Also, can I set breakpoints for the button and/or evaluate disabled property's EL expression?

The buttons are part of panelCollection which exists in panelHeader. As the below code demonstrates,
1. Buttons are defined in the toolbar (t2) in panelCollection (pc1)
2. Each buttons' partialTrigger is set to the table (md1)

Also, I changed the displayRow property for the table from "selected" to "first" but no luck either.

About:config Javascript Enable/Disable not working correctly

It used to be that the About:Config Javascript Enable/Disable toggle was an all or nothing swtich. If you turned it off, it was turned off for all of Firefox, including and most importantly active loaded pages with interactive content. It was an absolute need for defense against rouge pages that would do things like trap the close page function and open up many more pages when you closed a page. Other pages would attempt to download code repeatedly and the only way to truly "escape" those pages was to open up a tab with About:Config and toggle the Javascript Enabled option. This is still there, but the behavior has changed in Version 29. It no longer turns off Javascript for all pages loaded or future loaded, only future loaded ones have it turned off. This is a show stopper. Get it back to disabling for all loaded pages or we won't use Firefox anymore.

The problem of being trapped in an onbeforeclose event handler was tackled directly. You should not encounter that problem any more as of a few versions ago. (And/or you could use my Escape bookmarklet: [http://dev.jeffersonscher.com/bookmarklets.html#escape])

First create a attribute with the name readonly of type wdy_boolean and bind it read_only property of input field of which is you want to enable or disable.
Next go to Init method.
Set the readonly value as 'X'.

It renderes the link in correct form in datagrid first time.when i scroll the datagrid the rows are miss up with each other and links are not shown propers in enable/disable format.

Hi All,
It was my fault. Got it work now.
When I redirect to PR, it also calls my page initialization method and clear all data. I added a parameter and issue resolved.

Use rich:fileUpload/ to enable/disable my buttons with checking file names

I need to upload some files with using <rich:fileUpload>,and i did it but i need to check file names for some reasons and enable or disable upload button but my problem is that when i open my modal panel and click add button of <rich:fileUpload> and then add upload button of <rich:fileUpload>(not my upload button but upload button wich <rich:fileupload> has) i check file name but the button is not enable/disable until i close my modal panel and open it agin,so i need to know how to modify my code to make it work?

No the problem is that file is being checked on server side, but if file is invalid the button Upload(my button ,not standart rich:fileUpload) must be disbaled,and shown,but i have to close this modal panel and open it again to see my button enabled/disabled

I've gone through your message completely, if you do not have the Call Waiting option under Settings > iPhone it means your carrier does not let you access that feature on the phone. Contact them and see if they have dialing codes to turn it off and back on.

Screen Personas 2.0 Enable/Disable script button in Javascript

Hi,
Has anyone tried enabling or disabling script buttons on a flavor using Javascript. I have two script buttons,
The first one (Button1) searches for a contract based on the contract id provided by the user in a text box. (So, the script triggers the transaction me33k, fetches and displays the relevant fields in the flavor)
Now, based on whether the contract is present in the system the user needs to click another script button (Button2) which will allow him to create an order. Currently the button is disabled (ScriptButton.IsEnabled = false in the Properties menu).
In the Button1 script towards the end, I need to enable Button2 is a contract is found. So in the Button1 script, at the final step I try to calculate in JS and write the following JS code,
var args.btn2id = document.getElementById("Personas/blahblahblah");
args.btn2id.disabled = false;
But this is never works. And I have noticed that the control id does not return the control object in Javascript (so, args.btn2id is always null) and I tried removing the '/' and various other options.
Has anyone ever tried to enable/disable buttons in Personas? Is it even possible?

You don't have access to the Personas control properties from JavaScript to dynamically change them.
About the only thing that comes to mind is Tobias' method to hide the script button if you want to disable it.

Enabling/Disabling menuitems in a JMenu

Hi,
The application I'm developing has a JMenu, like any other Swing app
out there. The menuitems in that JMenu are enabled/disabled according
to the state of the app. I'd like to know which is the best way to
enable or disable the individual JMenuItems from any point in the
app, do I have to hold a global pointer to every JMenuItem in the
app and call setEnable() ? Or can I send a change event which
is captured by a hypothetical enablelistener registered in
every menu item ?
