UIX Problems Trying To Get and Set Values To messageTextInput Objects
I have created an input UIX form in the Struts Page Flow Diagram using the Page Forward Action and dropped two views from the Data Control Applet as Input Forms. I am trying to �get� the value from one bound messageTextInput object in view1 to set the value of another bound messageTextInput object in view2. I do not know how to reference the bound messageTextInput objects on the UIX page.

Initially it is little bit confusing.
To get the value:
wdContext.node<nodename>().get<nodename>ElementAt(i).get<Attribname>();
To set the value:
wdContext.node<nodename>().get<nodename>ElementAt(i).set<Attribname>("value");
First check the cardinality of the node.If the cardinality is 0..1 or 0..n then you need to create an element and add it to the node.
IPrivate<viewname>.I<node>Element ele = wdContext.create<node>Element();
ele.set<attribname1>("value");
ele.set<attribname2>("value");
wdContext.node<nodename>().addElement(ele);
If the cardinality is 1..1 or 1..n then 1 element is created by framework. You can use that element. If you want to add more elements just use the above code.

I currently have a method which calculates some ints, then stores them as attributes of an object. However I am having trouble when retrieving these values. My problem is that I am putting correct values in, but the values coming out are different.
The code to put the numbers in is:

The values of X and Y before they are passed in are correct, however when when the getX and getY methods are called the ints returned are totally different and include a lot of zeros at the end. The code used to test this is:

The Tabular Form Element based on item_type column of SQL query is Displayed As Select List (based on LOV) referencing a named list of values which have the following properties

What I want to do is only display the Select List for the FK depending on the value of the Select List on Item Type, e.g.
Item_Type is 'HA' then display Select List for hardware_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for backup_dev_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'BB' then display Select List for backup_dev_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists for hardware_id and hardware_os_id.
Item_Type is 'HS' then display Select List for hardware_os_id, do not display and set to NULL the Select Lists backup_dev_id and hardware_id.
There are properties on elements to conditionally display it but how do we reference the values of the SQL query Updateable region? they are not given a page item name?
Also on the Tabular For Elements there is an Edit tick against a report item - however when you go to the Column Attributes there is not a property with which you can control the Edit setting.
What's the best way of implementing this requirement in APEX 3.1?

I have a multi-row region that displays values and allows entries in a number of fields.Provide exact details of how this has been implemented. (An example on apex.oracle.com is always a good way to do this.)
I should like the fields to be conditional in that they do not permit entry, but still display, if certain conditions apply (e.g. older rows greyed out). Can this be done? Trying to get multiple cell values within a geometry
I am provided with 3 tables:
1 - The GeoRaster
2 - The geoRasterData table
3 - A VAT table who's PK is the cell value from the above tables
Currently the user can select a point in our application and by using the getCellValue we get the cell value which is the PK on the 3rd table and this gives us the details to return to the user.
We now want to give the worst scenario within a given geometry or distance. So if I get back all the cell values within a given geometry/distance I can then call my other functions against the 3rd table to get the worst scores.
I had a conversation open for this before where JeffreyXie had some brilliant input, but it got archived while I was waiting on Oracle to resolve a bug (about 7 months)

BTW, if anybody wants to play with this functionality, it only seems to work in 11.2.0.4.

That's a good spot and as it happens I spotted that and that is why I am sure I am querying that lob wrong. I always get the a logic going past the total length of the lob.
I think I am ok using 11.2.0.4, if I can get this working it is really important to us, so saying to roll up to 11.2.0.4 for this would be no problem.
The error in 11.2.0.3 was an internal error: [kghstack_underflow_internal_3].
Something that I think I need to find out more about, but am struggling to get more information on is, I am assuming that the lob that is returned is all cell values or at lest an array of 4 byte (32 bit) chunks, although, I don't know this.
Is that a correct assumption or is there more to it?
Have either of you seen any documentation on how to query this lob?

Capture Hyperlink event and set value
Hello everyone,
I have a hyperlink on a report column and when I click on the hyperlink it takes me to an URL. Now I need to capture the time the user clicked on the URL and update a DB table column. So I created a Dynamic event to update an item, but I am not able to get the hyperlink event. When I select the Event as 'Click' and 'Selection Type' as 'Item', the report column does not show up on the Item(s) LOV. Can Dynamic Actions be based only on click of page items?
If so, is there any other to capture this Hyperlink event and set value? Also, as my 'Column Link' target is 'URL', I cannot set any value for items there!

I added the dummy page with 'OnLoad' page process with the PL/SQL code and my current page redirects to a new page with the new page's attributes set. Now I am able to update the timestamp on the table with the sysdate when I click on the click. However, my URL does not work. A page cannot be found error is returned. I displayed the P2_URL_ITEM on the page and it displays only until 'http', the rest of the text is cut. Is there a way I can increase the length of this page item?
As the URL value assigned to the page item did not work, I tried to hardcode the URL. Below is my page process on the load of dummy page,

I was able to do the following with struts but no with jsf...
The following code in struts allowed me to have no 'get' and 'set' method in the javabean for a property (for example, the property 'name'):

Why do we need get and set methods?
It is considered good design practice to keep all class data private and
provide get and set methods for accessing the data in a controlled
manner.
So, instead of directly accessing the class data, you use getter and setters.
I do not really feel the need to use get and set methods.
How does that achieve encapsulation when ultimately the class data is being exposed?A couple of reasons why to use get and set:
1. For example you can set an int value for month, if a user sets this to somting
higher than 12 (or 11 if it's zero based) you want to handle that by either
throwing an exception or adding a year for every time it can be devided by 12.
If you dont do it in set you'll have a whole bunch of methods that might need to
correct the value before retreiving the eventual date.
2. If for some reason you have security set up for certain values you can
implement this in the get method. When this is done somewhere else you have
a whole bunch of methods retreiving the info in other classes that need to check
first. (a canGet method could allso be used). Another good reason to use get
is when the information needs to be converted depending on the consumer
calling the get method.
3. If any logic in 1 or 2 changes you'll have a bunch of code to change.
If you feel there is no need to implement any security, error handling (on
compiling because get and set might throw something) or validation when
setting/getting these values there is still the argument of readabillity.
Eclipse has a feature that will generate getters and setters for you so it's not
like there is a lot of extra typing involved.

For a simple example, say I have a table and want certain roles to see all columns (including address), and other roles can see only certain columns (no address). In a Java method, I want to test if a table's column visible attribute is true and if so, set it to false before rendering it.

this use case would be a perfect example for using seeded MDS customization. Instead of checking what users are allowed to see or not upon rendering time, you have a customization class and thus the framework doing this for you.

Bug in "Get and Set Time.vi" example for RT systems
There is a bug in "Get and Set Time.vi" that ships as an example in the "NI System Monitor" package. The routine does *NOT* return the hour correctly.
Note the string "%#H:12:39.371" as the time of day. That should be 09:12:39.371 as it was 9 AM at the time.

It may be only in the Mac OS X code base. But since it is one of those annoying locked VIs I can't tell. Now of course this is locked because communication with the RT system is so sensitive or just plain messy. My guess is that if I thow wireshark at it I can tell you what is inside and it shouldn't be that secret.
But let me know what you find running under Mac OS X. -

I really need HELP!!! I have a laptop that runs with windows vista, and I have been having issues trying to get it to download the new version of itunes that would be compatible to the new version of ios 7 that I have already updated on my ipad. I have downloaded this three times, it shows that the download is complete, but when I connect my ipad to my laptop it is still telling me that I have to download the new version again and it will not sync with my ipad until I do. Does anyone else have this issue and can anyone help me figure out how to correct it? I would be most grateful!!
