UK App store now open in UK
The app store is now open direct from the ipad so no need to sync from itunes.
The iworks apps and ibooks are still not there but its a start
We've had the same problem with our iPhone 4s too. I've had mine for a couple of months and just since Christmas have noticed that it sometimes won't load either.....just a nice white screen. My husband on the other hand just got an identical phone to me a few days ago and it's even worse for getting on to the app site. What is going on? Even my son's iPod since Christmas has had difficulty getting on to it too.
I was told that it's basically an overload on the Apple server....understandable but where is the fix for this problem? I'm looking through all forums and can't find anything. I'm almost thinking of calling Customer Service again, but I've got other things to be doing than trying to troubleshoot this issue.

You do not need to use cleaning programs. They can destroy your computer operation as they may already have done.

Do a backup.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J. When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Select Library. Then go to Preferences/com.apple.appstore.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Restart, open the application and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the application is the same, return the .plist to where you got it from, overwriting the newer one.

Why is it that after upgrading to IOS 6, I could not retreive my full list of my purchased applications & ganes list in the app store now !!!!
Whenever I try to tab my purchased in the update feature of app store; not only does the long list of my previous purchases do not showed up like in IOS 5 do but after a while it just prompt out to the main home page. I tried this for both my 3GS and 4GS too and both have the same problem. That wasn't a very good idea. Apple does not transfer content from one Apple ID to another or merge Apple IDs. Not for anyone. All of the content that you got free or bought with the old ID is forever associated with that ID. You cannot redownload or update any of it without the old Apple ID.

For some reason the Apple ID window in iTunes and App Store now seems to suddenly have a character number constraint which prevents me using my 29 character Apple ID. As a result I am unable to enter the final few characters of my Apple ID which I have had for many years. Does anyone know what has caused this?
You need to ask Apple for assistance with getting back into your old ID. To do this, click here and pick a method; if that page doesn't list one for your country or you're unable to resolve this issue through the Account Security team, fill out and submit this form.

As far as I know the language of the two stores on the iPad (iTunes and the App Store) can't be changed - they should be in the language of the country where your account is based (if they aren't correct then try logging out of your account by tapping on your id in Settings > Store and then log back in).

After reading your post, it sounds like you are experiencing an error when attempting to install apps. You may want to consider resetting your device. This article provides detailed instructions for Restarting, and Reseting:
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
How to restart
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.
Drag the slider to turn your device completely off.
After the device turns off, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button again until you see the Apple logo.
How to reset
You should reset your device as a last resort and only if you can't restart it.
To reset, press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons for at least 10 seconds, until you see the Apple logo.

has anyone else noticed a change that the app store now requires that you are using one-click rather than cart in iTunes? This happened when purchasing a "free" app from the store. Before I never had that message.
I noticed this after the iTunes 8 / FW 2.1 upgrade but until I am convinced of stability, I'm still running iTunes 7.7.0 + FW 2.0.1.Just an update: I've 'bought' some free apps by clicking the 'buy' button from the dialog box that explains about 1-click. It seems like it treats that purchase as a 1-click purchase (and if it hadn't been free my credit card would have been charged) but it doesn't change the setting in the preferences, so other purchases at the store can be bought using the basket.

Aperture was originally installed from the app store, now its asking for a serial number. how do i download the serial number or reinstall from the app store?
The App Store version of Aperture will never ask for a serial number so something got confused on your system. Did you ever have a non App Store version of Aperture installed? Did you download the trial version for some reason?
You can try moving Aperture from the Application folder to the desktop and then going to the App Store. Log in with the same Apple ID you used to purchase Aperture and you should be able to download it again.

What Lion version & Build # is in the App store now?
I originally downloaded Lion to upgrade my 2010 MBA. I have both a 2010 and a 2011 MBA.
When I previously have tried to (re)download the installer to my 2011 MBA, I kept getting the error message that "this version of Lion can not be installed on your computer" (paraphrasing). This was perfectly understandable, since 10.7.0 Build 11A511 is indeed incompatible with the 2011 MBA.
I have been periodically retrying, in the hopes that Apple would eventually upgrade the App Store version to be usable on my 2011 MBA (so I could make my own COMPLETE re-install drive).
Today, I tried again to download the App Store version of Lion on my 2011 MBA. Success!
This leads me to beleive that the new download is updated. If so, is there anyone who knows the version and build number this is?10.7.2 build 11C74 was the first GM build to include support for the new MBair and Mac Mini.

everytime I click on a document in Numbers a Box appears that states I have to update Numbers in the APP store to open the document. I go to the App store and Numbers just has an open button and no updates or downloads. Any suggestions??
You might want to double-check that you are trying to open the document with the latest version of Numbers that is in your main Applications folder, not the old version that is in a subfolder named iWork '09 or Numbers '09. Instead of just clicking the document, you could open the latest version of Numbers and then File > Open. Or you could "right-click> Open With ... and choose Numbers.app (3.5.2).
