UK Apple TV in Australia?

I'm about to move to Australia from the UK for a couple of years, and I'm wondering about the pros and cons of taking my 2nd gen Apple TV with me. Apart from the obvious - no BBC iPlayer - what are the issues I'm likely to encounter? Will I still be able to use my UK login on the iTunes store? Will Netflix and Mubi work? I see that neither is available on the Australian version (although I guess I could access them on the iPad and stream via Airplay). What happens with firmware/software updates?
In short, might it be more trouble than it's worth? Would I be better off starting again with an Austrlaian model?

Having trouble with international sim. Purchased phone unlocked, no contract from Apple store in Australia. Living in Denmark now and phone won't accept Danish sims. Guys in phone shop say phone is actually locked. Any hints would be welcome.

Software updates have been done regularly. They think that it shouldn't come up "connect to iTunes" when the Danish sim is installed.
Any hints would be welcome.

Yes - it was from a proper Apple Store.
I only purchased the unit - no special requests and then went to O2 and hooked up with a scolling monthly sim.
I used that sim for about 6 months and then moved out here. I took on two PAYG sims, one for Qatar and one for UAE but neither are accepted.
When connect to my mbp, the phone screen shows the iphone connect cable and iTunes picks it up. The message then says " must insert original sim to register" My point - the original sim, was completely independant from the phone but I cant get past this point to do anything further.
Any thoughts?

I have tried to change the setting on my Apple TV but when I proceeded to rent a movie, it told me I needed to set up an itunes account?
I already have one in English/Australia isnt the sufficent ?

RESPONSES:
1)   When I set up my iMac, I did not transfer any data directly from my windows PC. I simply used the same iTunes login and account. I have access to all of the files via the "Purchased" section of the iTunes store. If I click "Download Previous Purchases" text, I can download ALL of the purchases I have ever made.
2)   I have the Apple TV 2, so good news, question answered. I thought maybe it was the Apple TV 1, but it is the Black model, so bam. Good response for you. Well the whole damned reply is an awesome response, just pointing out that one piece of awesome. I stated that it was an Apple TV 2, and yet you were still good enough to figure I could be mistaken, and provide me with knowleedge just incase.
QUESTIONS:
3)   So can my iMac not stream the data directly from itunes, without download? Apple TV can, but perhaps that is something among many things that maker it unique, and awesome.

I work in the computer support section for the Military. The only problem is we use Windows , lol. Well that and i've been gone for nearly 6 months on recover. I go back next month though I hope. But working in that field gives me the abilty to judge responses that run inside the same vein. Your response was so awesome that I half thought I might have written it myself.

Apple Configurator VPP Australia

Hello,
I am using Apple Configurator to install free apps to 38 iPads for use in a primary school in Australia. The VPP is not available in Australia (as of writing), and I wish to distribute apps that we purchase to the iPads. Can Apple Configurator be used to do that? If not, what is the recommended approach? If just some of the iPads were to access the iTunes account to purchase apps outside of using the Configurator program, would the paid apps remain on the iPads when reconnected to the MacBook originally used to install free apps to the iPad?
Education dollars are hard to come by, but in the interim, I will just have to spend the money to download onto each iPad and install the apps required.
Any help with this Apple Configurator program, VPP, and paid apps install appreciated.

The database in which Apple Configurator records the use of redemption codes is your only record of the valid use of those codes. Be sure to maintain a backup of the Mac on which you use Apple Configurator.
If you lose the Apple Configurator database, your users will retain rights to use the apps already installed on devices, and you can reimport any spreadsheets to install additional apps on devices using unredeemed codes. But if an app is deleted from a device after you lose the database, Apple Configurator will be unable to determine the device’s rights to that app, and you will need to redeem another code in order to reinstall the app.

Is there any indication that Australian's will get to use Apple Pay any time soon?
It was one of the reasons I brought an iPhone 6 Plus, and in the WWDC when iPhone was launched, they were saying about other contires coming soon
I keep hearing about how great it is to use in the US and would really love to have a card free wallet

Currently the Apple TV has NHL in the US, MLB and other sports accessible. Are there plans to make NHL available in Australia, or just MLB?

I got my late 2009 macbook pro from the USA with Apple care plan and my laptop needs some repair. But, I currently reside in Australia and I would like to know wether I can give my laptop for repairs under the apple care i got from USA in Australia or not?

iPhone warranty is country specific, except for the EU, where warranty is EU wide. You may or may not get service in Australia, so don't be surprised if you don't.

The SQL Developer team have always run a series of early adopter releases before the production release as we have found the community really get involved in these, which is of course benficial for everyone. We plan to do the same for the next release and will announce any early adopter releases here on the forum.
We will be demonstrating features at Oracle OpenWorld, but you may recall that SQL Developer 2.1 was not production for that last year, so we have a lot to show.
Unfortunately we are bound by Oracle policy and may not release any dates.

I would suppose so. I live in Portugal and I have access to all the games, including the playoffs that have just started.
You might have to change you Apple Store to USA or Canada to be able to access the NHL Gamecenter app, and you also need to pay the NHL subscription to access the games live. Otherwise I believe you will only be able to see the highlights afterwards.

IBooks from Australia and the USA - how can I see all of my collection on my MacBook Pro?

I am Australian. I began using iBooks in Australia by purchasing books through the Apple store in Australia on my iPhone.
In those days I had a PC running windows, and used to sync my iPhone on iTunes in Windows 7.
Later, I moved to Illinois in the USA. I also changed from using a PC to using an Apple MacBook Pro.
So these days I sync my iPhone with my MacBook.
I now have a mixture of books on my iPhone. Some purchased from the Apple Store in Australia, and some purchased from the Apple Store in the USA.
I can see and read ALL of my books on my iPhone.
But I can only see and read the 5 books I purchased since living in the USA on my MacBook Pro.
My login and password are exactly the same for the Australian Store, for the USA Store and for iCloud.
How can I see and read ALL my books on my MacBook Pro here in Illinois?
My iPhone is running iOS version 8.1.2
My MacBook is running OS X Yosemite 10.10.1

I carried out your suggestions.
A strange thing resulted.
Just one (1) of my 34 books on my iPhone now appears in the iTunes list of books on my Mac, and subsequently was moved to iBooks on the MacBook Pro.
This happens to be the book I am currently reading. So at least I can get on with reading on either device.
But I am mystified why only one book was copied across.
