UK developer need ITIN or EIN?

So I know that to submit my book and get an account I need a number, I am filling out the w7 form to get an ITIN number but it looks like it takes weeks and weeks. I also need a signed letter from apple according to all the sites saying that I need an ITIN.
My questions are -
1. How do I get a signed letter from apple stating I need an ITIN
2. Can I get an EIN number instead? In this thread https://discussions.apple.com/message/17534402#17534402 the guy got an EIN in 13 mins and 40 secs. How and where?

We get the EIN number (because we are a company) in half an hour. We had to fax the form to the authority, then we talked on the phone with the officials and in the end he has given us a number. Unfortunately, the number is now not in the IRS-database, this can take up to three weeks, so we now have to wait again.

I have just replied to J Connor with this same information.
You need an EIN number.
If you have an iTunes Connect account, open it, check out the Banking and Contracts section.
You can open and walk through the forms and make notes of what you need.
I have a UK account and it requires an IBAN number from your bank. If you have online banking, email/ message a request or walk in your branch and ask for one.
If you phone the USA...get a phone card which allows low cost calls.. IT TAKE UP TO 15 minutes to go through the application...and they give you the number , although Apple will not see it foe at least two weeks... they send old fashioned letters to you and Apple!
Ignore all the hard luck stories, its a simple process, download the SS4 form from their website, print it, fill it in, they will ask if you have it.
Any problems get back and they can be redolved

What are UK citizens selling iBooks doing about obtaining US tax ids? (ITIN vs EIN / do you then need to send annual tax returns?)

I'm attached these questions earlier to another thread, but think they may be located more easily if I start yet another one about this issue... PLEASE CAN I ASK EXACTLY WHAT ARE OTHERS FROM THE UK DOING?
I'm from the UK, and am trying to wade through the messy US tax ID conundrum in order to try to sell iBooks...
After making a 50 min call to the US yesterday, I remain completely confused!
Apple send you to the EIN part of the US tax website, for businesses, but a lady has just gone to great lengths to explain to me why this is not for individuals, and that everyone with one must send in an annual tax return (can I ask if those of you from the UK with an EIN do this, and if not why you think we don't have to? If you do, what does it entail? She sounded like they'd be chasing these up...)
So I'm told I instead need an individual ITIN. The main differences being that instead of getting one over the phone in 10 mins, you apply by post, it takes 6-10 weeks to get one, and you need to provide the following:
1. A signed letter on official Apple letter headed paper (preferably hand signed by someone from Apple?) saying why you need an ITIN. (Is there a template for this somewhere, does anyone know, as this lady implied that there must be?)
2. Either your original passport (I'm not keen on posting that to the US!), or a copy signed and verified by someone at the London US Embassy (we live nowhere near London!)
So in short, to other UK citizens out there, HELP, what have you found to be the simplest solution to all this. (And if you have gone the EIN route, which boxes do you recommend ticking on the application form, and does this mean I would need to somehow officially register as a company in the UK?)

Thank you. I uploaded my first book three weeks ago and it still isn't in the stores. There is lots of confusing info on your discussion sites and even the itunes connect page says everyone must have an EIN for a paid books account. I wondered whether my first book is taking so long to publish because I had filled something in wrong?

Hopefully I can help... I live in the US and am now an American citizen but I was in your position previously.
Let's start with EIN's and SSN's... they are both forms of a TIN - Taxpayer Identification Number.
EIN's (Employer Identification Number) are used for companies, Not For Profits etc. - basically, any person or organisation that employs other people.
SSN is the Social Security Number of an indvidual. If that indivual runs a company that is effectively a sole trader or partnership that doesn't employ anyone in the USA then the SSN can be used to identify that entity too.
For those not resident in or citizens of the US the TIN is actually an ITIN (Individual Taxpayer Identification Number). It's often confused with a SSN because it is exactly the same format. But it begins with a '9' and that indicates that the ITIN cannot be used for employment in the USA.
Does the IRS insist that you have a ITIN? No. But then whoever is paying you the money has to deduct witholding tax from it and account to the IRS for that money. It's a real pain to do this so I can only assume that Apple (quite sensibly IMHO) choose not to by insisting that all submitters do have a TIN.

New development - need new roads added and 33 lot address locations corrected

Hello, I am in the new homes and residential development business. I just developed a new residential development and I need to get Bing to update their roads and addresses. The addresses and roads have been in existence since about August 2014. I would have
expected them to be updated by now but the roads are missing and the address locations are incorrect.
I have figured out how to get in touch with and submit bulk data to Google (Map Content Partners), but I cannot find an access point to Bing. I have gone the route of reporting mapping errors via Bing Maps, but I
was wondering if their is a way to give Bing bulk mapping data to update new addresses and roads. I have shape files that include parcel boundaries, road centerlines, address blocks, and address points. I have also included the lot address and correct location
coordinates below.
Any help appreciated.

Oracle SQL Developer needs some work

I just downloaded a copy today (1557) for Oracle 9.2i / Windows XP Pro
Oracle SQL Developer has a few glitches...
A compiled and working package (compiled in SQL*Plus and TOAD) opens and shows 2 errors in a SQL Query involving a CASE statement. Invalid CASE clause on an ELSE and unexpected token on an alias at the end of the case.
Compiling a package should display a message saying successfully compiled and the state of a package should always be on display!
Opened an SQL script but could not execute it as the icon's didn't become active.
Couldn't then run the script.
These basic problems would put any serious developer off using Oracle SQL Developer.
Also background color scheme should be gray and NOT white. White is hard on the eyes. This is just basic UI stuff.
Oracle, you need more senoir developers!

Justified to the top left of the sql window, you see the execute buttons. On the top right, you will see a drop down list box. After opening a file, this drop down list box is not selected. Select your connection and the execute buttons on the top left will enable.
For PL/SQL use a slash / at the end for it to execute.

You would be better off going down the left side of the main ASC page and click Developer Forum and get the information on joining the developers...you have to fill out some information and pay the fee to become a developer. The deveolpers hang out in that group much more than out here.
