UK iPhone! Since i cant convert a ringtone from music purchased in UK

What other way is there, i tried looking up some previous posts but it all looks very complicated and i cant work it out.
Anyone give me an uncomplicated step by step way of getting my own ringtones on my iphone?

Take any audio file
Make sure that it is in the AAC format.
Make sure that it is less than 30 seconds long.
and
Rename it with .m4r as a file extension.
Once you have the file, import it into iTunes - and it will be synced onto your iPhone.
That's all you have to do.
You can use Garageband to do the editing. If you are on a Mac.
If you already have a bunch of MP3 ringtones - load them into iTunes. Convert them to AAC. Drag the AAC files onto your desktop. Rename them as .m4r - and load them back into iTunes.

If they are in 'Music', then they are not ringtones... They are short music clips.

    Hi,
Your profile shows that you are located in England.
+You can only purchase ringtones from the U.S. iTunes Store. You can use GarageBand anywhere to export your original song, your original audio recordings, or use Apple Loops and iLife jingles to create a custom ringtone for your iPhone.+

  • How to get ringtones from music folder

I really need help getting my purchased ringtones from the music folder to the rigntone folder.  support is not helping.
All of my purchased ringtones show up in my music folder and not in my ringtone folder.  Please HELP anyone

After performing a (Finder) Find for .aif files, I located the tracks and was able to delete the playlist (album) folder with the tracks. So no assistance needed after all.
However, inexplicably, the folder with the tracks to be deleted was located in iTunes Music folder > Compilations folder, rather than in the artist folder. After finding and moving the folder of the tracks to the Trash, I checked the info of the original CD in iTunes out of curiosity and discovered that "Part of a compilation" was checked for the tracks, even though this is not a compilation (or even a live) album. I assume this sort of...tagging, I guess...was originally imbedded in the CD and is not a result of any glitch in iTunes. In fact, in the Compilations folder, I noticed several albums which are not compilation albums. I'd appreciate any thoughts or explanations as to why some non-compilation albums are checked as compilation albums.
    Thanks,
    Paul

For the font problems, try the "Safe Mode" suggestion in this old thread:

  • How do I retrieve ringtones from past purchases on previous iPhones?

I jut bought an iPhone 4 with my upgrade from my 3GS and lost all my ringtones, how do I redownload them without having to purchase them again or hooking up to a computer?

You can try the following on your friends phone:
    1.  Remove the contact card
    2. Then turn off iMessage and then back on again
    3. Go to Messages and compose a new message
    4. Press +.  This will make a list of recent contacts pop up.
    5. Click on the info button number of the contact you are trying to reach.
    6. Remove from Recents
    7. Try to compose another message
    8.  If the message attempts to send as blue (imessage), press on the message.
9 Option to send as SMS will appear (as long as they have SMS turned on.
    10. Repeat and rinse.
    11. Messages will start changing over to all SMS as the user will show as non-imessage user.
    Hope this helps

  • Getting ringtones from music to tones...

I just imported some ringtones into iTunes. I did two sets. The first set I made as mp3s and they went to my tones folder when i said to sync it with my phone (5c). The second set went only into my music folder, even though they are also mp3s. I can't for the life of me figure out how to get the second set into my tones folder. Please help me.

The message says " Tones are not avalible on this device a device that can run iOS 5.0 or later is required".
The latest iOS that an iPhone 3G can handle is 4.2.1

  • Ringtone from music I own?

I have purchased some music which is now showing up with the little ring tone symbol. I've already purchased the music but to make a ring tone iTunes wants to charge me another 99 cents? Does this make sense?

We already have the ability to sync our own music files to the iPhone, maybe Apple should look at the trade off of lost profits for iTunes/Ringtones vs. user satisfaction at being able to utilize our own content as ringtones. A move in this direction combined with support for 3rd Party applications that may be headed our way after the Feb. release of the iPhone SDK should do nothing else but boost sales of the iPhone. Maybe if enough folks push feedback to Apple we may see some adjustments made?

  • Is there an app now (or in the process of creation) where you can make your own ringtone from a purchased song on iTunes?

I want to be able to make my ringtone because not all songs are available as ringtones. Is there an Apple application that can make a unique ringtone? I've tried apps from the Store, but they sometimes get erased from my phone in Sync.

You have been able to do this for years.
Google will find several ways to do this.

  • How to hide ringtones from Music Library on N97 mi...

    Hello,
The title speaks for it's self i think.
I want to hide my personal ringtones (on the mass storage drive) from my Music library as it is quite annoying to hear your ringtones when listening to good music... The folder with the Nokia ringtones I can't find....
So, how can I do this?
    Greetings,
    Redmer

There is a very easy way to do this. This method does not involve keeping your sound files 'hidden'. This means your files will still be accessible from other apps. Also, you DO NOT not need to hack your phone for this.
    http://lagenda4046s603rd.blogspot.com/2010/08/13-all-mods-pack-in-sis.html
This little app will let you do exactly what you want. The music library will now only look in E:\music (memorycard>'music' folder)
HOWEVER, when you install it, it will still show your ring tones and other sound files, but it wont show any further sound files that you add to your phone unless you put them in E:\music. THERE IS A VERY EASY WAY AROUND THIS:
BEFORE INSTALLING Just hide all the sound files you don't want in your music library (make files 'hidden'), then install '13 all mods' (link above), then unhide those sound files.
Now your music library will ONLY show music in E:/music AND your other sound files remain unhidden, so other apps can use them normally.
    Enjoy!
There are also other options during install. All of the features are optional during install. Your phone may not support all the options, but hopefully it will work for the music library function.
When you install, it may say 'phone not supported', BUT INSTALL IT ANYWAY. This just means that not all the extra options will work for your phone (e.g. disable nokia hands), but you should expect the music thing to work properly.
Note: this app will not show an icon in you menu, but it will be in you app list in 'application manager'. There, you can uninstall it, and this will undo any features you selected i.e. it will show all your sound files, ring tones and anything else you selected etc.
    Regards and Good luck

  • Trying to create ringtones from music.  Why does my itune page not show a ringtone tab?

Downloaded free app "ringtonemaker".  instructions say to save it then select ringtone tab.  My screen shows summary, info, apps, etc. but no ringtones tab.

It's now called Tones. Go to iTunes menu EDIT/PRFERENCES under GENERAL tab, check the Tones Box under Library source to display Tones library in iTunes.
