Uknown Error (-69)

Hi all, i connected my friends new Ipod Classic 120gb to my laptop yesterday so that he could download music from my itunes library, but it kept coming up unknown error(-69).
I do use ipods on my itunes, my Ipod Classic 80gb, my 1 gb shuffle and my new ipod nano 8gb, i have never had this come up before.
I did change my itunes to manage my library manually, could this have made the problem?
Has anyone ever had this problem? i have tried resetting my ipod but this still comes up.
Can anyone help please?

I just bought myself an Ipod Nano and am ready to return it FAST! I downloaded the music to my computer but can't transfer the music to my Ipod. I've uninstalled and reinstalled and followed all the online help instructions to no avail. I waited so long to finally buy one, and now it doesn't work. Looks like I'll have to find something else to replace it with!
I must say I'm very disappointed that I'm one of the few rare people that this doesn't work for.

Just updated to iTunes 10.7 on Windows Vista 64bit and now when I try to connect to the iTunes store and just get "Uknown error has occured-42408" Please help!!!!!!!

The only but is there are again some problems with upgrading from 10.6 to 10.7, but this is another story.

An error occured while conecting to an airplay device uknown error -15000

I have recieveesd this message while trying to stream music through air play from my PC to the apply TV.
"an error occured while conecting to an airplay device uknown error -15000"
Movies are streaming fine, but I get this message when I try to send music to the apple tv. I have enable music sharing in my preferences. I updated my itunes today on 12/26/12. Any help is appreciated.
An additional note, I have an updated iphon 4s and airplay functions fine when sending music to the apple TV. It only replies with this error when I am comcecting through itunes on my computer.

Illustrator Uknown Error - Saving Vector Smart Object

Hi,
When I open a vector smart object from PS I get 'An Uknown Error Occured' and can't save the file. Has anyone else run into this? I'm not sure how to fix it. Thanks.

Do you mean that you are double clicking on placed smart object and you get the error. Is the smart object originally from Illustrator and does Illustrator open open?
Would help to know more detail about EXACTLY when your error happens and far you get. This way we can determine if you have a file association problem, memory problem, corrupt font/image problem.

Yesterday I was getting the blinking green/amber lights with my shuffle (512Mb).
After I couldn't get it to reset (with 5 sec. on/off) I plugged it into the computer. Saw that iTunes 6.x wouldn't see it and tried to run the updater. No luck.
Figured it was as good a time as any to update to iTunes 7. Still no luck. It sees the iPod but says it needs to be restored. When I try, I get the error 1418.
So, I figured I'd attempt to see if I can find out what's going on. I boot up a Linux live CD and take a look at the drive partition tables. (Figuring I may just reformat the thing and either fix it, or at least end up with a 512Mb flash drive).
gParted sees the device (interestingly as 1019.75Mb - wondering if they all were the same, but just partitioned differently).
When I try to repartition, it fails when attempting to assign a drive label.
I then plugged an old 128Mb flash drive into another usb port and attempted to do a brute force copy:
dd if=/dev/sda of=/dev/sdb
where /dev/sda was the 128Mb drive and /dev/sdb was the shuffle.
It failed with an Input/Output error at 0 bytes.
I found some others who seem to have had the same problem (drive just going bad out of nowhere) when I googled for "repartition ipod shuffle" (no quotes). Seems the flash drive can just go bad just sitting there. I'll keep trying, but I don't have my hopes up.
The new shuffle looks nice, but I can't say this leaves me very impressed. Mine was only about 15 months old (of course past warranty) and pretty gently used.

Uknown Error (-50) when re-creating library from .xml

I was fooling around with my library trying to get it to work properly within another program (Native Instruments Traktor Pro) and goofed it up.
My entire library (lib, xml and mp3s) reside on an external hard drive. Somehow the lib was overwritten with an older version. My xml file looks to be okay though (all 23.3 Mb of it), so in following the instructions for re-creating my library from the .xml (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1451) I get:
The file "iTunes Library.xml" cannot be imported. An unknown error occurred (-50).
About 11,000 of my 15,000 mp3s get added but no ratings, play counts, date added or playlists make it over. Any ideas?

okay, i've resolved most of the issue. did some more googling which led me to this:

so i opened up my itunes library.xml with textmate and ran the XML syntax validation. it found that there were two songs which contained invalid characters in their metadata. i removed those characters and voila the import playlist completed (took 47 minutes!). but it did not bring over the 'date added' value (even though it is stored in the xml library). instead date added was today.
i understand why this makes sense technically, but is there any way around it? can i replace the date added value in the actual iTunes Library with the value in the iTunes Library.xml?

Uknown Error in update rules while loading into InfoCube

I load data from BC 0FIAR_O03 ODS into BC 0FIAR_C03 ICube.
While loading I got error on second data package (1st package loading ok)
The error message in monitor informs about error in update rules.
I got nothing special than I looked into Application Logs (tcode SM21). It tells about message 560 with addition "no documentation exists for message 00560"...
I can't get what's wrong. The update rules for ICube is BC without any modifications and data loaded succefully into ODS.... Any ideas?? Where I can find more inforamtion about error occured during update??

update rule terminated if data load contains more than 1 data package. don't know why. I solved problem by spliting load process by Fiscal Year ranges

"Uknown error 5002" after re-installing Windows XP

Hi!
I have recently re-installed Windows XP Pro SP2. I re-downloaded the iTunes client (6.0.1.3) and installed it. I moved my old music and library files from the old Windows account into the new one (under My Documents/My Music/iTunes).
Now all files are visible and playable from the Library... but it won't purchase through the music store. "Unknown Error 5002".
I do NOT have McAfee installed. I have Norton Anti-Virus 2003, but I did before as well, and the iTunes Music Store worked just fine.
Any help is going to be appreciated. Thanks!

File Uknown Error While Importing

I'm trying to import some quicktime clips into final cut and I keep getting amessage saying "Error File Unknown." The file is .mov and I can't think of a reason why it won't import it.
Any Suggestions?

.mov can be anything, really.
Try using Quicktime to EXPORT the mov to DV/NTSC or something like that.
Also -- where did you get it from? Could it be from an AVID machine? You'll need the avid quicktime codecs if that's the case.

When I try to sync iPhoto Album I get an Uknown Error -50

My iPhone syncs up just fine in every aspect. Except for Photos. I have read all the problems with the iPhoto Albums not showing up in iTunes. I am having that same problem, so I decided to just select the "All photos & albums" option, even though I can't control which albums to select because they don't show up.
Now when I start the sync process, everything is still fine. It syncs the contacts, calendars, bookmark, but before it get's to Photos, it stops syncing and gives me the "Unknown Error -50" message. Any thoughts on how to get this to work?

PS I tried using terminal to see what the problem was with the AlbumData.xml file, but couldn't get the command to work properly because my iPhoto Album is not in my user folder. It is in a seperate hard drive.

You mention that your iPhoto Album is on a separate hard drive and outside your user name or home folder. If you ment "iPhoto Library" take a look at this post.

At the point where the code is expecting an integer, you're inputting "Strawberry". "Strawberry" is not an integer. Thus the exception is thrown.
You've declared a variable called "Strawberry", but that's a very different thing from the string "Strawberry" inputted by the user.
What you probably want to do is:
First, use a Scanner method that reads in a String, not an integer.
Then, in the code now, compare that String with the various names, as Strings. Like this:
String name = sc.next(); // it might be a different method from next(); read the docs for details
if (name.equals("Strawberry")) {
