Ulitmate Poker blocked from accessing my geolocation

I am a long time customer of Verizon and a new customer of Ultimate Poker. I am outraged that Verizon has blocked Ultimate Poker from accessing my geo-location even though they have my permission to do so. Everyone in the word (Google) has access to my location. Ultimate Poker is legal in Nevada as long as they can verify my physical location in Nevada via my cell phone. All the other carriers allow this--not Verizon. Time to look at ATT.

First off, nowhere in my discussion does it say I want to play online poker on my cell phone. It would have to be on a desktop or laptop computer.
Second, your assumption is incorrect regarding AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. These wireless carriers do allow the triangulation of their phones to UltimatePoker.com. As it pertains to this discussion, It is necessary for this legitimate  Nevada based poker website to prove to the Nevada Gaming Commission that:
1) Prospective online poker players are playing on a desktop or laptop computer with an IP Address located in the State of Nevada.
2) Prospective online poker players are physically here in the State of Nevada while playing online poker on Ultimate Poker website. This is proven via your wireless cell phones GPS.
Third, you are assuming if a phone's GPS has been set up to allow triangulation, it should be giving your GPS whereabouts to the poker server. One would think this is a true statement. The Smart Phones of today, such as my HTC Thunderbolt, do have GPS Location Services provided by Verizon and Google. Unfortunately, the issue we Verizon customers are having is that Verizon Wireless themselves are blocking our GPS Signal to UltimatePoker.com, whereas other carriers are not.
Forth, I do not have to take it up with the poker website. They have done their due diligence to legally offer online poker playing on their website to any person 21 years or older. The person must allow their physical location to be verified through their cell phone's GPS Locator via the Location Based Service Ultimate Poker uses to triangulate location. Also, the IP Address from the prospective player's computer would need to be physically located in the Stare of Nevada while they are playing.
Fifth, you are speaking about a whole different subject in regards to what Websites Verizon chooses to grant/block access or guarantee any rights to. Your statement has nothing to do with this discussion. We are talking about Verizon preventing their own customer's GPS Location and cell phone number from being verified by a Location Based Service on behalf of a legitimate online gaming website. F.Y.I, Verizon does not prevent their customers from viewing porn and gaming websites over their network. It's up to apps or software such as Anti-Spyware, Anti-Virus, or Parental Controls to block these types of websites. However, Verizon will block a website if they receive complaints regarding objectionable material or photographs of a sexual nature involving underage children.
Sixth and final, your sarcastic statement regarding "How much you pay each month does not get you any perks other customers are not getting" is out of line and tries to put words into my mouth. You have taken what I said out of context. I don't think I'm above anyone or are owed any special rights or privileges. On the same token, Verizon Customers, such as myself, should not have to issue ultimatums to the carrier they have long defended and remained loyal to for the past several years. However, if Verizon keeps preventing their customers the right of playing legalized online poker, they may leave us no choice but to sign up with a different carrier. That doesn't mean it would be enjoyable or fun for me to do so, let alone give up all of the UNLIMITED DATA I receive for $24.90 a month.
Thanks for reading. I hope this helps other Verizon customers who may of had questions regarding this issue.

I have purchased a new PC and am being blocked from accessing my itunes account why???

You are being blocked how ?
If you mean that your library isn't showing then it won't automatically appear on it. You can authorise your iTunes account on it via the Store > Authorise This Computer menu option (with iTunes 11 pressing Alt-S should get the Store menu to appear). You will then need to either download your content onto it (what you can re-download will show under Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store homepage), or copy if from your old computer or your backup.

  • GT70 Application has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware

I have a GT70 with a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 675m, have Windows 8.1 on it. Last month I had an issue where the video card freaked out and started to throw blue screens at me, had it taken in they fixed it and reinstalled the drivers and cleaned out the inside of the laptop which had dust inside, I would love to do it quite frankly I have no idea what the insides of a laptop like this look like.
So after I got my laptop back I had drivers 344.75 installed on it, then went to watch a video on YouTube and all of a sudden the video freezes while the sound still played. Then in the lower right hand corner it said Display driver stopped responding and has recovered under it said, Display driver NVIDIA Windows Kernel Mode Driver, Version 344.75 stopped responding and has successfully recovered after that the small thing popped up saying Application FlashPlayerPlu has been blocked from accessing Graphics hardware over and over again I got so tired that I went to the customize option to make that thing disappear from popping up, but the error kept coming and coming so much that it created hundreds of warning errors in the Event Viewer. So the only thing I could do was restart my computer.
Figured that updating my graphics card to the latest driver would help, which is 347.52. But whenever I watched YouTube on Firefox it would do the same thing, it wasn't just the Flash Player plugin either it was other programs like VidCoder I haven't seen what other programs did it. It just feels so frustrating because I don't want to take this laptop into get repaired again to the local computer place. I think it might be a software issue since the computer seems to work fine when it's not using the NVIDIA GPU, I started watching YouTube using Google Chrome and not Firefox. I haven't really gamed on it in a while but now afraid to play games on it that it might break the video card or crash. Has anyone out there seen such a problem?
I've looked all over the Internet and people say that maybe the GPU is being overclocked but I don't even know what or how to search to see if it is. How can it be overclocked when using simple programs or websites like YouTube? I have also heard that most of these problems are cause of Windows 8.1 but can I even down grab back to regular Windows 8? I wish I had Windows 7 on this laptop but it came with Windows 8 and kept hearing that it's dangerous to downgrade the laptop to Windows 7.
Thanks if anyone can help out with this issue.

I am really hating Windows 8 & 8.1 all together. But I took it into the shop this past Monday to figure out maybe they can fix it. Since I still have the two month warranty with the shop I can take it in and won't have to continue paying more money. When I got it back they said something about the files or drivers were corrupt and they reinstalled them. Went home played Unturned on Steam for like 15 to 20 minutes, game froze like it did with No More Room in Hell. Giving me that same error Application unturned.exe has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware, over and over every three seconds. I shut down the laptop for the night and turned it on about an hour ago and the error message kept popping up like twice then finally stopped.
I went over to NVIDIA's forum a couple of days ago and someone with a GT70 and GTX 675m card is having almost the same issue as me which is crazy, then saw another person with a 675m saying that it's unstable that the GPU usage exceeds 2000% and freezes. Do you think that it might be some sort of update that is causing the cards to just mess up? It's strange that within a few weeks three people including myself have issues with the card acting strange. I haven't gone with factory restoring my laptop yet, been trying not to go down that road unless it's needed. Also I hear Windows 10 is coming out in the summer and I'm iffy about just upgrading hoping the problem will go away or is Windows 10 is just as dangerous as Windows 8.
I am also wondering if I was to downgrade to Windows 7 will it also erase my MSI factory recovery partition for Windows 8 on the drive?

  • Blocked From Accessing My Own Website CMS

Hi, I wonder if anyone can shed some light on an odd problem which arose out of the blue two days ago. I operate two iMacs (new types) on a network, with Leopard 10.5.2. We have ADLS broadband, and network using an Airport Express. I have several websites, one of which has a cpanel and is set up with a CMS on the server - to access this, I need to log in to the administrator using a user name and a password. On Sunday afternoon, while working in the CMS online, my admin session suddenly expired and since then I have not been able to log into my own website to work on it. Oddly, my husband's user name and password is also being blocked. Yet, even more oddly, when I log in using either username and password on my husband's iMac, there is no problem! The message from my website is that the username and password are incorrect. I have to use Firefox to work on my website, so after restarting my Mac, I emptied the cache on Firefox, deleted the passwords in key chain, and when none of this work I deleted my old version of Firefox and downloaded a new version. All to no avail. As my husband's computer is able to access the site, I assume that the Airport isn't the problem, but there is something going awry in my Mac. I have had my webmaster check that my Mac IP isn't being blocked by my website - which I think would exclude my Mac from accessing it - but she says everything is fine at her end. She is also not Mac savvy, so if the problem lies in my Mac she can't help. Can anyone suggest anything???

Have you tried clearing ALL private data? It's under the tools menu and make sure you check cookies and saved passwords as well. It could quite likely be pulling credentials from a cookie stored on your machine or from a saved password if FF does not use the keychain (I cant remember if it does).
As an extra troubleshooting test if this doesnt work, you could try either logging into another account, or if none is available create a temporary account to log into and test it from there. This would indicate a preference problem most likely and you could then clear the problem files from your home directory's library.

  • I just "upgraded" to 6.0. Now I get an "alert" and am blocked from accessing mail. What should I do? Uninstall?

    Here's the "alert"
Could not initialize the application's security component. The most likely cause is problems with files in your application's profile directory. Please check that this directory has no read/write restrictions and your hard disk is not full or close to full. It is recommended that you exit the application and fix the problem. If you continue to use this session, you might see incorrect application behaviour when accessing security features.

Migrating a Power PC Mac to an Intel Mac is never a good idea.
Migrating Final Cut Studio is a bad idea -there are many FCS components in the System and Library folders, and quite a few in folders that are normally hidden from the user. They do not get transferred in a migration, so you end up with an incomplete installation of the applications.

  • How can I block a url from accessing my browser?

I want to block a url from accessing my browser. The url in question, djbsaqja.co.cc, flashed a pop-up saying that my computer was infected with a dangerous virus and that "Windows Security" required that I download a program to fix it.
I maintain realtime virus protection, but ran a manual scan anyway, which proved that I was clean.
The url listed above would not let me out of an unending chain of popups, demanding that I download their tool.
Instead, I opened a new Firefox session (it was the only way I could re-enter Firefox without this rogue url taking control), then cleared out my history, cache and cookies.
I'm clean...and now I'm back in control with, I believe, no damage. But since I wrote down the url, is there a way that I can block from accessing my browser again?
    Thanks for the help.

You can add it to your hosts file - http://allthingsmarked.com/2006/08/28/howto-block-websites-using-the-hosts-file
Sites like that pop up on a regular basis, but will often get taken down quite quickly. I have just checked and the site appears to have been taken down.

  • IP address blocked from signing in to Skype

Hello everyone.  I have Skype version 6.21.0.104 on my desktop computer and I am now having trouble logging in.  I have done several chats, over the last few days, with Skype customer service and the chat I had with a representative today told me that my IP address is blocked from accessing Skype. The person said I needed to contact the manufacturer.  Does this person mean that I need to contact my internet service provider?  I am a bit confused.  I wonder if I accidentally denied Skype access to the internet.  I had this issue before on my laptop and I had to go in and remove the block, but I do not remember how I did that.  Please help.  I would like to be able to use Skype on my desktop computer again.
    Subject/title edited for clarity.

I just wanted to let everybody know that the issue has been resolved.  The IP address block has been lifted, my account is no longer restricted, and I can sign on with Skype on my deskopt computer again.

  • Snow Leopard Server dhcp assigns IP to clients, but sometimes that IP is blocked from reaching network

I have a problem that is driving me batty.
I have a Mac Mini Server acting as a gateway to the Internet. The cable modem is connected to the built in Ethernet, and the local net is configured with a USB Ethernet. I am running  DHCP on the local network, and all of the clients get IP's from the server with no problem. Sometimes an random IP appears to get blocked from accessing the network (can get the file servers on the local net, and cannot reach the Internet.) We can manually assign a different IP, and it might start working, but it might not. We just keep picking until we find one that works. Rebooting the server will fix the problem as well.
I see no indication of a problem in any of the logs on the server.
This setup has worked with no problem in the past, but I must have done something to the configuration as some point.
    Any help will be appreciated!
    Mark.

The proper way to set up your system is to set up the server's DNS as your primary DNS, entering into it all of your local devices and support, and use your ISP's DNS as forwarding DNS's. For help in doing this follow Mr. Hoffman's instructions.
Use your ISP's modem in bridge mode to provide you with a static IP. Use the server's DHCP system to provide all internal addresses, otherwise you won't have dynamically updated DNS information at the server level.
User your airport extreme as an AP. Set it up to use an internal static address as it's WAN address and shut down it's DHCP server allowing anything connected to it to receive it's IP address from the server. If you can't do that, then set up the Airport to provide DHCP with a reduced subset of addresses for only wireless devices. Let the server's DHCP provide all wire-based equipment addresses.
Turn off the wireless on the mac mini server and run wired from your ISP's modem. Before you do, however, you need to enter a static address into the TCP/IP section, including mask and gateway. This will avoid VPN and other service issues caused by having it turned on and receiving a DHCP address (at server can not, by nature, be a DHCP device).
To do remote desktop from the internet, you would connect through the WAN address provided to the server by your ISP, but you will need to open the firewall ports on the server. If you have the money, and want to most protection, you should invest in a firewall box like a SonicWall and insert this between your modem and the rest of your system. The SonicWall will provide faster, tighter attack protection and allows you to tie external service access down as tight as you want.
    Hope this helps.

  • Verizon email blocked from England and Italy.

Earlier this month, while in England for two days and Italy for a week, I was unable to log into my verizon.net email account.  I spent an hour on the chat function from Rome one evening with a Verizon tech trying to straighten out the mysterious problem.  It would not work with Thunderbird, my usual email program, or work by logging directly in the Verizon site.  The tech had me change my password several times, and although he himself was able to log into the Verizon site using my username from his end, I was unable to do this from Italy.
When I returned to the US, I got on the phone with a Verizon tech who had me change my password and--bingo--it worked, both in Thunderbird and in the Verizon site.  When I told him that I was unable to log in from England or Italy, he told me that Verizon email accounts were recently subject to hacks from sites outside the US, and for that reason Verizon had blocked access to email from abroad.  He said that they were working on a solution.
    Astonishing.
Verizon sent me no messages that this would happen, and I didn't see any notice on the Verizon site.  This meant that while I was in Italy I was unable to send email or retrieve messages from the very people whom I had traveled so far and spent so much money to see.  They were waiting there to hear from me, and for many of them I did not have a phone number with which to contact them.
What is more amazing is that the tech with whom I was communicating from Rome did not tell me this.  If he did not know that Verizon email in the US was blocked from access while abroad, he was wasting my time by changing all those passwords, and was incompetent to boot.  If he did know this, he was in effect lying to me and still wasting my time.
Will someone from Verizon please explain this?
Edit:  After posting this, I noticed the locked post above from britany_VZ (dated 2014!) regarding overseas access to Verizon email.  Since I have never read this forum before, this was my only notification of this.  An account holder should not be required to read a discussion forum to learn something like this.
I will point out that it still has little to do with my experience.  Nothing I did, and nothing that the Verizon tech did, would get me into my email account, and it remains that the tech with whom I discussed this a few days ago said that access to accounts was blocked--period.
Question:  when I return to Italy in May, will I be able to access my email account?

And further down the topics I just noticed the long thread on this very topic.  And I noticed how old it is, with no fix in sight.
Looks as if forwarding email is the only workaround--short of closing the account.

So what is up with this error message in Muse?
MuseJSAssert: Error calling slector function:SecurityError: Failed to read the ‘contentDocument’ property from ‘HTMLIFrameElement’: Blocked a frame with orign “null” from accessing a cross-origin frame.

This is a genuine security error generated by the browser when viewing a page with iFrame content locally.

  • Block IPs from accessing WLC web management

    Hi all,
I have tried using access control list to block certain IPs from accessing WLC web management. I apply the ACL to interface management, but it seems like no effect at all.
How can I block or permit some IPs so only certain IPs can access WLC web management ?
    Thanks in advance.

I need deal with this matter also... So here's what I found:
    - you must use CPU acls - interface acls won't do what you want;
    - it appears that once you use an acl, you must explicitly define each type of traffic you want to allow, since an implicit deny all action occurs.
I'm working on trying to restrict admin access to controllers in order address policy compliance matters. I'm disappointed at the lack of better documentation and practical examples on acls...
If anyone can shed some light on this topic I think two of us would appreciate it...

  • How do I block a computer from accessing connection via wireless router?

This is my first linksys router.  My previous one had an option that i could choose to block a specific computer from accessing my wireless connection.  I cannot find an option like that with my linksys router.  I have to leave the connection open becuase of issues with other computers in the household not being able to connect with security being used.  Thanks!

what is the model number of your router?
if the wireless security wont work try to use the mac filter.you have to get the mac address of your computers in the house and you have to input it in the mac filter window on the set up page of your router.
