Uloading ebook using iProducer rec'd error: ERROR ITMS-9000: "Unable to parse nav file: toc.ncx" at Book. I don't understand and need help fixing it. Please Help if you've the knowledge.
Many Thanks
Yep, i just did it again. The entire scroll-bar widget, complete with formatted text, graphics, etc., pasted itself nicely in another book. Two different files, the same widget.
I use the scroll-bar widgets for most of my texts. (I have audio buttons on the side, and the scripts are within the widget, to the side). My only text is within widgets, and text boxes, naturally.
I am following your recommendation: cleaning files, etc. I am remaking the book anew. I need to convince the EPUB bot or whatever that my file looks and works nicely on all my devices. You would expect an error message when previewing the book: 'Hey Amigo, your file is flawed, stop working on it, and get back to the drawing board." Should be able to try again next Monday.

Hi, I'm En32, now trying to publish my first iBooks (epub).
The package I created is always rejected to deliver with following error.
Does anyone who can provide me a solution ?
=== error ===
Package Summary:
1 package(s) were not uploaded because they had problems:

ERROR ITMS-9000: "Unable to parse apple display options file: com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)

$ cat META-INF/com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml
<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”UTF-8″?>
<display_options>
<platform name=”*”>
<option name=”fixed-layout”>true</option>
</platform>
</display_options>

Actually, I'd like to use fixed layout so I use com.apple.ibooks.display-options.xml.
This ePub file looks good because I can open it with my iPad - iBooks, however iTunes publisher always rejects this.
Any solutions ?I was getting that error when I used OSX's default compress feature. I found a little utility called ePub Zip and used it to compress (zip) my ePubs and that did the trick. They then passed the validation. I got it here:

I updated imovie and I used to be able to save as Quicktime file, now not an option & files are so large when I save as mpeg4 and just rename them. Please help!
Actually it is easier than I thought. It is H264 but the wrapper is m4v. You can just change that in the finder to .mov and drop it into iDVD. iMovie will send it to iTunes so just right click on it in iTunes and select reveal in finder and then copy/paste to desktop and change to .mov. Then drag into iDVD. Really easy.

I cant dowload the itunes i use win 7 with 64 op i get all thge way through then at the last step HRESULT:0x800736FD shows up and cant go any further. please help
Many thanks.
With those symptoms, I'd try the following document:
Apple software on Windows: May see performance issues and blank iTunes Store
(If there's a SpeedBit LSP showing up in Autoruns, it's usually best to just uninstall your SpeedBit Video Accelerator.) -
It starts off looking normal, then as the page sets, it stretches out VERY WIDE...to the point where I cannot scroll, or see the entire page. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox, and I have the same problem. Thank you!
Try the Firefox SafeMode. <br />
''A troubleshooting mode, which disables most Add-ons.'' <br />
''(If you're not using it, switch to the Default Theme.)''
# You can open the Firefox 4/5/6/7 SafeMode by holding the '''Shft''' key when you use the Firefox desktop or Start menu shortcut.
# Or use the Help menu item, click on '''Restart with Add-ons Disabled...''' while Firefox is running. <br />
''To exit the Firefox Safe Mode, just close Firefox and wait a few seconds before using the Firefox shortcut (without the Shft key) to open it again.''
If it is good in the Firefox SafeMode, your problem is probably caused by an extension, and you need to figure out which one. <br />

Error message "Unable to parse opf file: container.xml"

I have made the book in iBooks author- the previous version was fine, apple requested I "fix" it landscape mode. Since then... No Joy.Yep, i just did it again. hello,i have a macbook pro and i just recently downloaded facetime, and now i cant use it, it says An internal FaceTime error occurred,i dont know how to fix it, please help.
If your webcam is powered by USB, make sure it is attached directly to your Mac and not a USB hub. In my case, I had my Rocketfish webcam attached to a peripheral USB hub and it wasn't drawing enough power to operate at capacity. Therefore, Facetime was quitting on me and giving me that exact error message. Once I attached the webcam directly to my Mac USB port, problem solved. Hope that helps.

Error itms-9000 "could not parse OPS/glossary.xhtml"
Has anyone received this error message when trying to deliver an ibook through iTunes Producer?
ERROR ITMS-9000 "could not parse OPS/glossary.xhtml: duplicate id: p2" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage)"
I can't translate that, the ibookstore people are VERY (5 days) slow in responding, and my book can't go through until I've "fixed" the problem. Glossary links are intact, intro movie is in a separate place (not glossary), and I'm at a loss!!Edgar,
My solution came as a suggestion from my computer guru son. Delete every item in the glossary. Since that wasn't practical, I copied each item completely and pasted it to Notepad. THEN deleted each item. In re-inputting the items (copied from Notepad), I used the iBooks "glossary creator" to create each item. Apparently, as I was "creating my own" glossary items, iBooks was creating each item in the background, so duplicates were being created. Once I input the glossary items ONLY through the iBooks "glossary creator" system, there were no duplicates and the submission process went through instantly (took a while, because of the size of the book). About your videos in the glossary, try abridging the video (if it was a duplicate of something used somewhere else in the book) and renaming it a different name, THEN include it in the glossary. It may be thinking that the video is duplicated in the glossary because it's being used elsewhere. If the two (or three) videos all have different names, I think they would pass.
Another thing that caused problems in the book was in dealing with .pdf files. DON'T USE .PDFs. Re-type the verbiage. Including .pdfs created its own set of problems!
Good Luck!! -
I get an "Error ITMS-9000:"Unable to analyse: page1.xhtml" when I try to upload my epub using the itunes producer. I know this is caused because the text within page1.xhtml is in Greek but I do not know how to solve it. I already added "<dc:language>el</dc:language>" at the .opf file and also "<META http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html" charset="UTF-8">" at head section of "page1.xhtml" but it still does not work. Any ideas anyone?
Well I found myself the reason of the error and corrected. The reason of this error message was the way the .xhtml file was saved. Ie the file, for some curious reason was saved as UTF-16 instead of UTF-8. To see your encoding open the file that has the problem with chrome browser and go to "tools" and then "encoding". If you see that the encoding is not UTF-8 then open your file with "notepad" and then go to "save as" and then save it as text with "UTF-8" encoding. This solved my problem.

I have an original Ipad, I tired to update it, but during the update it gave me an error message (1602) an now it just has a picture of itunes and a ubs cord? Please help!!
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. It could take well over an hour! Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. -
I have the latest iTunes 12.1.2.27. However, I am unable to restore my iphone4s. iTunes was able to detect an iPhone in recovery mode.
The error is something like "Unable to restore the iphone. Make sure you have the latest iTunes and try again." This is the latest version that exists currently.
I am using MAC OS X 10.7.5.
Please advise.
I have tried all the steps in the apple support.There is nothing to backup.
If the device is showing the Connect to iTunes screen, there is nothing on the device to backup.
The first step in the update process is a backup... restore the device using that backup and try again. -
